And The Greatest Living Woman Is . . . .

new-york-statue-of-libertyJust when I thought that I could not get more depressed about humanity, Fortune Magazine released its second annual list of the “extraordinary men and women.” The greatest female leader? Taylor Swift. Not German Chancellor Andrea Merkel. Taylor Swift. She was just two below Pope Francis.

Fortune Magazine selected those people who “are transforming business, government, philanthropy, and so much more.” The list was (1) Apple C.E.O. Tim Cook, (2) European Central Bank president Mario Draghi, (3) People’s Republic of China president Xi Jinping, (4) Pope Francis, and (5)India prime minister Narendra Modi. Then at 6 comes Taylor Swift according to Fortune.

Fortune based its ranking on the fact that Swift “the highest-paid woman in the music business.” After all what has Merkel done? She does not have a single POPS song to her credit.

  1. Max,
Who knows, maybe some gay person called her fat, short, ugly, mean and hateful and middle aged and she has had it in for gays ever since.

  2. Calling On Retailers to Raise Their Voices Against Discrimination
    http://blogs.gapinc.com/blog/2015/3/30/calling-on-retailers-to-raise-their-voices-against-discrimin.html

Editor’s Note: The following is a joint blog post from Art Peck, Gap Inc. CEO and Chip Bergh, Levi Strauss & Co. CEO.

Today Gap Inc. and Levi Strauss & Co. are calling on retail and apparel companies, and other businesses, to join us in speaking out against legalized discrimination.

Both of our companies have a long history of standing up for equal rights and equal opportunity for all. We have consistently spoken out against discrimination and unequal treatment based on race, sex or sexual orientation.

As Indiana, Arkansas, and states around the country enact and consider legislation that perpetuates discrimination, we’re urging State Legislatures to stand up for equality by repealing and voting against these discriminatory laws.

These new laws and legislation, that allow people and businesses to deny service to people based on their sexual orientation, turn back the clock on equality and foster a culture of intolerance.

Discriminatory laws are unquestionably bad for business, but more importantly, they are fundamentally wrong. They must be stopped.

At Gap Inc. and Levi Strauss & Co., we are proud to say we are open to business for everyone.

  3. Annie,
    JT is too forgiving.
She’s made her wishes known to all.
Wishing death to others should be beyond the pale here.

  4. Squeeky (kill the gays),
    Listen to your bullchit…
    First, you’re condescending.
Second, you suggest I spend time with people in another country who’d rather have me dead. In reality, I don’t have to go very far for that with you (and your kind) around. Who needs N.Korea when you’re ready to deliver those goods in America. I mean, really, why do I need ISIS to show me what a dead gay looks like when you’re aligning yourself WITH them eager to do their bidding?

You are one twisted mother fu(ker!

  5. Max, now we get to see Squeeky’s true nature and it’s not pretty.

  6. Max, it’s probably good that this happened before the election in 2016, so it’s vey clear what Republicans are all about nowadays. That LBTG need a protected class status is more clear now than ever before.

  7. @Max-1

    Oh, you poor dear!

You know, you are one of those people who need to spend a week in a North Korean prison in order to get some perspective about the seriousness of your problems. I promise you that if you were there, or if you had been in a concentration camp, or if you were black in 1950’s Alabama, or maybe a Christian in ISIS territory, and even gay in a middle eastern country, then you would realize how absurd and farcical all your whining is about somebody not agreeing to bake you a wedding cake.

“Choose to accommodate Christians. Animosity never helps to achieve a goal.”
    = = =
    Wait a second:
    1) Religion is a choice.
    2) Christianity is about love, forgiveness and acceptance
    3) Christians have been asked by Jesus to accommodate others, not the other way around
    4) The animosity by many X-tian orgs. is palpable. So much so they’ve lobbied states to carve out ‘special’ protections that allow them to be unChristlike… legally speaking that is. They’re eagerly spending Caesar’s money so as to shut tight the gates to the Kingdom. Jesus called them VIPERS FROM HELL.
