Blog Hits 26,000,000

200px-Crowd_in_streetJust last March, we passed the 25,000,000 mark and today we hit 26,000,000. We have used these moments to give thanks for our many regular readers around the world and give you an idea of the current profile of readers on the blog. We continue to rank in the top legal blogs in the world and we are continuing to see a growing international readership. As always, I want to offer special thanks for our weekend contributors: Mike Appleton, Larry Rafferty, Darren Smith, Kimberly Dienes, and Cara Gallagher. I particularly want to thank Darren who has continued to help manage the blog and help out folks who encounter posting problems. The increasing traffic on the site is gratifying and reaffirms that there are many people looking for mature and civil debate. While we have some who cannot resist personal attacks, we try to discourage such posters and this site remains remarkably civil for its size. Due to litigation demands, I appreciate all of the effort by the vast majority of posters to keep discussions civil and non-personal. Even among the top sites, I believe that we offer a unique forum of different views and backgrounds in the discussion of law and politics (and a few quirky items).

So here is our current profile:

So far this year, our ten biggest international sources for readers came from:

1. United States
2. Canada
3. United Kingdom
4. Australia
5. Germany
6. France
7. India
8. European Union
9. The Netherlands
9. European Union
10. Norway

The only change is the EU pulling ahead of the Netherlands and the rise of Norway.

The top ten posted in terms of readership in the last 30 days:

  1. Hmmm…I see that my prior 1st amendment comment with the phrase “…the unmasked word “F**[l]…” is “awaiting moderation” (Note: in this comment I have replaced the letter “k” with the letter “l”). With all of the conversation on this blog about Hitler’s Nazis, I am very interested in seeing whether this ruling is reminiscent of that repressive regime. If I were a non-tenured law professor at a prominent University, would Prof. Turley support: (a) my 1st amendment publication of such language; or (b) the denial of tenure to me?

  2. Squeek, No one can jump on a tragedy like liberals. Before the victims are buried they are using this despicable act to ban the Confederate flag and repeal the 2nd Amendment. Folks need to read arguably the most learned person on the Civil War, Shelby Foote, about the Confederate Flag.

  3. It was men that comprised the Nazi regime. And it was men that stopped them. It was a white, hater, male, that committed this despicable act and it was a white, female, Red State, Christian, that risked her life to capture this hater.

If the fact that there is evil in this world surprises people then they need to wake the hell up. if people think hate is relegated to white, red neck, crystal meth tweakers then they are idiots. I have worked in jobs investigating and supervising some of the most evil men to walk this earth, and remain convinced that we are overwhelmingly a good species. Why then can’t people who live insular lives do so? I think I know the answer to that, but I’m not certain.

  4. The dictionary does not say its a “cuss word”. Same with another word to describe the offspring of unmarried couples.

Oh it must be comforting to exercise the hammer and censor the speech or writings of others.

  5. Everything in moderation. Here is the definition of a word which gets deleted off my comments on this blog. From Websters Dictionary:

    Webster’s 1913 Dictionary

    Pronunciation: bĭch
    n. 1. The female of the canine kind, as of the dog, wolf, and fox.
    2. An opprobrious name for a woman, especially a lewd woman.
    3. an unpleasant, malicious, or offensive person.
    4. something difficult or unpleasant.
    5. a complaint.
    v. i. 1. to complain in a whining or grumbling manner; to gripe.

  6. Good job. Keep ’em coming for 100 Million, then, then go for a Billion!

  7. Squeeky … I for one, regardless of my aversion to killing per se, would not be the least bothered if Mr Roof were try to “escape” while in transit….they can wipe the dusty boot print on his butt occurring when he’s pushed from the vehicle after he is dropped dead as a fleeing felon that is a manifest danger to the community. Based upon his own words I can find no awareness of remorse or any vestige of innocence at trial. No one has been more cold blooded than he has been…so I’d have a hard time feeling any sympathy. I know if it were my family or friends killed I’d be unable to forgive him…those people in the AME church are far better men & women than me…but, then again, the dead weren’t interviewed.

  8. I want to ask John McCain why he thinks we have trillions of dollars to spend to fight ISIS in all points of the globe when we have our own tribes of like minded ISIS types here at home. Yeah, they can hijack planes and fly over here. If we could just talk these punks like the church terrorist to take his hate to Afghanistan or Syria. Can John McCain give us a game plan for that? Or Jeb?

If there are 26 Million out there who have read this blog then we must have John McCain and Jeb Bush logging on. They need to respond.

  9. Squeeky, you seem to have an unhealthy obsession about FFS. And that ” intelligent commenter” was doing what Fox and the the right wing blogosphere is doing, deflecting from the racism by excusing his actions on everything but. He sat at the feet of the racists among us and absorbed this hate filled ideology. Your “poetry” and racist rants contribute to this racist mentality, congratulations, he could’ve been your son.

  10. @I.Annie

Hmmm. Well that is not the way that the “Picture of the Day” reads at a certain website, now as it???

And when a very smart commenter said, “If you are looking for excuses to blame a race on this clown, your an idiot and part of the problem. The guy is a psycho and his actions are his own. People who create and enforce the racial divide like you are to blame for the environment that bred him. Race is an illusion, only people like him and you make it a reality. All racist are of the same breed, white and black. Both make me sick because of their ignorance, limited views, and overall stupidity.

    The response was,

Such anger and hostility! How about you take it down a notch

Hmmm again. I didn’t see a denial there. IMO, to the degree that it is anybody’s fault besides Roof’s, the liberal race-baiters are probably more responsible for their constant agitation all for the desire to get the black votes for the Democratic Party, and their desire to make themselves feel really really good about themselves.

  11. Wasn’t it just the other day that some of them, the white racists, were expressing their desire for another civil war, right here in these comment sections? Wasn’t it just recently we heard the term “feral blacks”?

  12. “…it is the white racists among us that are to blame. Like some here.”

    Can you support that claim?

  13. No Squeeky, it’s not the entire white race that is to blame, it is the white racists among us that are to blame. Like some here.
