GW Law Grad Selected As New Trump Campaign Manager

Kellyanne Elizabeth Conway has been reportedly selected as the new campaign manager for the Trump campaign. Kellyanne is one of my former students at GW Law where she also served as an adjunct professor. It is a huge responsibility and Trump supporters should be highly encouraged by her selection. She is smart, resourceful, and very disciplined. Just what the Trump campaign needs at this critical time.  She also now have the distinction of being the first female to head a GOP campaign for president.

Like your humble host, Kellyanne is actually half Irish and half Italian with an Irish name. She is one of a long legacy of GW grads in politics on both the Democratic and Republican side as well as third parties.  We are proud of the wide range of political activities and affiliations of our graduates.  Kellyanne was the president and CEO of The Polling Company as well as a regular television commentator.

She received her B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College and her J.D. from George Washington University Law Center. She also is a former judicial clerk.

She is a Jersey native and has four children with her husband, George T. Conway III, a partner at the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Unfortunately, George missed out on the GW law education but he seems to have been able to get by without it.

Congratulations Kellyanne!

  1. I do nothing about girl. Manafort in trouble with justice. He took money from Putin. When I naturalized, I told that if I work for other government i would lose citizen. How come manafort not in trouble? I read he still work for Trump.

  2. Anybody willing to work for Trump are and will be dead meat to the Republicans. I hope she has a job lined up………..Oh, she will get a job at “FOX NEWS” How proud her family must be….

  3. Is Manafort leaving? Kellyanne is a smart lady who’ll give Trump good advice. If it was me, I’d tell him the minute he ignores my advice I quit. issac, you have been drinking the Kool-aid. If anything, comparing them, Hillary’s mistakes affect the world, far more concerning.

  4. I have tried to find via Google the name of the “judge in Washington, DC” for whom Kellyanne Fitzpatrick Conway, age 49, clerked, and the length of time she served as a law clerk… without any success. Is her resumé truthful & accurate?

  5. Squeaky, even though I am not a Trump fan, I have wondered the same thing. There are so many issues that could resonate as a sound bite, and you don’t often get that. He is missing a huge opportunity in making his message clear. Maybe this new gal can help clean up the presentation. Let’s face it, the incumbent group are sitting on a crap sandwich, what else could you possibly want as opposition?

  6. vinegart, I don’t believe that you understand the meaning of my prior comment. I am not a Hillary supporter, by any stretch of the imagination. I am well aware of her long list of transgressions involving women, including her conduct with regard to those daring to accuse her beloved husband of rape and/or other forms of sexual abuse and harassment. My prior comment regarding Trump and his decision to replace his former, male campaign manager with a new, female campaign manager was that it was meaningless. She will not transform this campaign. She will not alter its course. She is filling an empty slot. No campaign manager, of any gender, is going to change the course or the direction of the Trump campaign. Trump will continue to run this campaign, as he sees fit. Period. Comprehending that fact is not praise for Hillary. It’s not a condemnation of Trump. It’s just my take on what’s happening. We are simply witnessing Trump’s attempt to gain some traction by using a woman as a figurehead. He will continue to be The Donald.

  7. For the love of Mary, why has she done this, her resume will be tarnished forever.

I worked for the Donald years ago before his bankruptcy, he say Leach you are smart and I will never have anyone smarter than me working for me. I was fired. I got nice settlement. The thing I think of, is this girl appear smart. How long she last?

The think I hear is the campaign is like the Titanic, coming close to burg. I wish her luck.

  8. Bam bam, I don’t suppose you have any clue as to how Hillary has demeaned women? Or other minorities for that matter? Your comment has no bearing on what the voters decide in November.

  9. Trump has decided to put a woman out front, as his campaign manager, in an attempt to, perhaps, gain some traction with female voters. He is, in my opinion, making an effort to demonstrate that he respects, appreciates and admires women–so much so that he would choose a female to lead his campaign. But, that’s just it–she is just window dressing. Nothing more, nothing less. He has been portrayed by the media as a bully and a chauvinist–one who, purportedly, denigrates and demeans females. What better way, to combat those charges, than to place a woman at the helm of your campaign? Frankly, it doesn’t matter what universities she attended or the number of judges for whom she clerked–Trump merely has her as a figurehead. A showpiece. Evidence that he does, in fact, respect women. The reality is that she will have no impact on Trump, himself, the person, or any substantial effect on the campaign’s direction and course. Trump is the captain of his ship. He has a woman’s face for his campaign manager, and she, in turn, has another line to add to the list of accomplishments on her resume.

Last night, as he was being questioned in an interview, he said as much. He claimed, in no uncertain terms, that he was not about to temper his comments and that his supporters wanted him to speak his mind. Trump admitted that he would stay the course.

Given that, does it really matter who is named as his campaign manager? Trump is steering this ship. She is merely a cog in the wheel.

  10. She resembles Goldie Hawn, though smarter, given she is obviously not a Clinton supporter.

  11. I hope she works out for him, but I am Eeyore-ish, and I think there are way more stupid people in the country than smart people, so Hillary will probably win.

A lot of Trump’s message could be simpler and more to the point. For example, on illegal immigration, just point out there is little practical difference between moving factories to cheap labor countries, and just sneaking the cheap laborers into the country.

  12. You have to wonder whether there is anything more Trump can throw at Clinton, that hasn’t yet been thrown or that hasn’t been debunked, or just plain worn out. There is a lot of stuff Clinton can throw at Trump: skipping out on paying taxes, being let off the tax hook by the fat man of New Jersey, tons of unpaid bills to the core element-the middle class, and on and on. It makes one ask if there is some mutual restraint, something like the cold war where fear of the big stuff made it sit in its silo.

Trump seems to have run out of real stuff, what with the Obama and Clinton created ISIS routine. The only ones that believe that are the idiots that are so far gone he could be outed for the most heinous crimes and misdemeanors and they still would remain tethered. Let’s see, Trump is courting Putin, feeding racists, feeding bigots, talking out of both sides of his mouth, bragging about making money by going bankrupt-not paying his debts, calling people who pay taxes stupid-really stupid, out disgusting Leona Helmsley, and on and on; and his minions are still awestruck.

Either this latest addition from GW is a tool for hire which the lawyer routine explains, a dizzy *%&t for hire to the highest bidder which the lawyer routine explains, or a minion. I see her as a mechanic who would work on anyone’s car, regardless of what it was used for, a lawyer routine kind of thing. Shakespeare comes to mind, “First…..”

  13. JT is just puffing a former student. The question is: How sacred are the Hillary people? They are 2 up in the latest poll and they have already spent 60 mill of her money. I am not sure Trump is placing a lot of ads yet.

  14. MSM. THIS is a straight news report! We know JT is not a fan of Trump. But, he put that aside and gave us the facts on his new campaign manager.
