High-Ranking Justice Official Involved In Email Investigation Found To Have Close Friendship and Ties With Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta

kadzik-peters-_1220px-john_podestaThe Justice Department is under fire for allowing the involvement in the investigation of a high-ranking official with close ties to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. Now, in the latest disclosure of emails, it appears that Peter Kadzik, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs, proved tips to Podesta on developments in the email controversy.

A May 19, 2015 email from Podesta’s account was hacked by Wikileaks or its cohort. These emails have given the public a vision into how our government works from media figures secretly helping the Clinton campaign to Democratic officials trying to rig the primary to sycophants currying favor from the expected winner of the election. Despite the low regard of the public for Washington, the emails have shown the situation to be far, far worse in what I previously called America’s Game of Thrones election.

Now this email shows the close relationship between Kadzik and Podesta where the former gives Podesta a “heads up” about several developments in the Clinton email case. He tells Podesta “There is a [House Judiciary Committee] oversight hearing today where the head of our Civil Division will testify.” That is likely a piece of public information but the communication still raises question of propriety. Then there is this: “Likely to get questions on State Department emails. Another filing in the [Freedom of Information Act] case went in last night or will go in this am that indicates it will be awhile (2016) before the State Department posts the emails.”

Kadzik has been in the lead with Congress on communications about the investigation. In the letter to Congress, he promised that the Justice Department “will continue to work closely with the FBI and together, dedicate all necessary resources and take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible.”

Kadzik went to Georgetown law school with Podesta and has remained close friends. Kadzik also reportedly was part of a controversial dinner after Hillary Clinton testified before Congress on Benghazi with Podesta, deal maker Vincent Roberti and other powerful figures. The dinner was a the expensive Posto restaurant. Kadzik also was reportedly a dinner guest at Podesta’s home and Podesta helped Kadzik’s son in his seeking a job on the Clinton campaign.

Kadzik also represented Podesta during the Monica Lewinsky investigation. Podesta was accused of making false statements to a grand jury but was not prosecuted. He insisted that he merely repeated false statements from Bill Clinton. Kadzik also lobbied Podesta on behalf of Marc Rich in the Clinton pardon scandal. His client was Rich, a billionaire financier who was wanted by the U.S. government for evading a $48 million tax bill.

In a 2008 letter, Podesta described Kadzik as a“Fantastic lawyer. Kept me out of jail.”

The fact is that it does not appear that Kadzik is directing the investigation as assistant attorney general for legislative affairs. However, it is incredible that Kadzik would not recuse himself for any involvement in this matter in light of his relationship with Podesta. He remains an attorney subject to the ethical rules of the Justice Department. It is hard to see how his involvement avoids conflicts or the appearance of a conflict.

What do you think?

  1. Off topic (again!). I find it amusing that some stars are saying they will move to Canada if Trump wins.

“Actor Bryan Cranston says he will “absolutely” move to Canada from the US if Donald Trump is elected president.

“I would definitely move. It’s not real to me that that would happen. I hope to God it won’t,” Cranston said in a recent interview with The Bestseller Experiment podcast.

As The Hollywood Reporter points out, the host asked Cranston if he would vacation to Vancouver, British Columbia, if Hillary Clinton were to lose on November 8.

“It wouldn’t be a vacation,” Cranston said. “I’d be an expatriate.”

The “Breaking Bad” star is not the first celebrity to claim to want to emigrate to the country up north if Trump wins. Lena Dunham, Barbara Streisand, and Chelsea Handler have all said that they would leave the US for Canada in the event of a Clinton loss.”

Maybe Lena can convince sister nasty girl Amy Shumar to move as well. And take some feminazis along as well.

Good riddance. And Justice Ginsberg presumably will move to New Zealand – if they’ll have her. They are very strict on immigration policy.

    1. Couldn’t the Russians–maybe even Putin himself get them if they move out of the country? They’re out there, you know…

Wringing their hands and licking their lips…

      1. slohrss29 – you are cracking me up. Yesss, those evil Russians just lurking in the shadows waiting for fresh liberal meat.

Me thinks Putin would not want a contingent of weak-minded politically correct Democrat refugees. Best they go to Canada.

      2. Slohrss29-
Don’t underestimate the reach of the Trump-Putin-KGB-Cossack alliance😉.
If I “revealed” that alliance on a blog, somebody would probably post it here as a link.

        1. Darn, what to do??? Assange says it ain’t be the Russians. Need another quick fall guy… might have to resort back to my plan to declare a no fly zone over Antarctica again because of their constant transgressions against this great nation. Clinton can get her bayonet-suppository neo-nazis and send them down there to straighten them up. Well, you know, if environment there is at all conducive to those boys (sorry for applying a specific gender role there…).

  2. We are reading about how the United States descended into fascism, paving the way for a dictatorship. I must say that my suspicions were raised in the last election when I signed a petition against letting pedophiles settle in rural areas, to later discover that they had changed my voter registration to Democrat. A lot of us in our neighborhood got caught by that one. Apparently there was a very interesting additional signature line in there.

It’s like we’re living in Venezuela, just before the toilet paper shortages and murder over $5.

  3. It seems that most of the time, left-leaning pro-Hillary, democrats deflect any criticism of her by bringing up Donald Trump who they say should be prosecuted for various alleged crimes. I propose the following:

Ask if they would support the prosecution of both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump at the same time.

See what the response will be

  4. One of the alt/Left weighs in — see it’s not a right wing thang you Correct the Record folks like to believe — we are all disgusted with the corruption.

  5. Squeek, Great put down line about dogs. And, dogs can lick their own gonads.

    1. Thanks NickS! I think PhilaT is decathecting on us. Anger and confusion often occur when someone is unraveling. Should Trump actually win, we should maybe have the police make “safety checks” on him.

      1. Good one Squeaky! did you have to look up “decathecting” or did you actually get through your word-a-day dictionary?

Hillary is still ahead in all the polls in spite of the damage done by Comey and his illegal revelations. Nate Silver still has her at about 70% to win.

What I’m wondering is what all of you are going to do when she wins and takes the Senate with her? You gonna go full sovereign citizen? Go join the Bundy’s? Take to the streets with all Trump’s riled up deplorables? Or will you be content with another eight years of whining?

        1. Nope. “Decathecting” is a fairly common word to me. So is “mimesis” and “pastiche.” Even
“panache” and “patisserie.” So is “Hypocrite lecteur!” which is a kind of French flower.

        2. Oh, and no I don’t think HRC will completely destroy the country. She may even accomplish a few good things, because she is still a “Goldwater Girl” at heart. We may lose the 2nd Amendment, and see our country overrun by illegal aliens who will fill the country with Democrat Elected Officials. And, we will see a massive bunch of corruption, but on the bright side, the country will hit rock bottom faster, and we can greet an American Fuhrer that much sooner, who will really take out the garbage,

But, what the hey, my life will go on.

            1. I know. If Hillary wins, I look for her to let enough Hispanics in to guarantee a Democratic Party majority for a long time, like with FDR, but not enough to collapse the country. But who knows?

                1. Good, New York is great place for it! Can’t wait until they start seeing decapitated, mutilated bodies hanging off bridges and viaducts. That’s MS13’s signature intimidation move. And them Yankees with no guns! Ought to be a hoot!

        3. I would expect that many who oppose Hillary will be just as gracious after a Hillary win as Philly T. would be if Trump pulled out an upset victory.
I can’t even imagine that PhillyT. would continue whining, bitching, and moaning after a Trump victory.😏😒
He would exhibit his usual bipartisanship and urge all to unite behind Trump.

          1. tnash – I was rather hoping that phillyT would join issac in Canada, if Trump won.

            1. Are you kidding? I bet neither of them would leave their comfortable white gated-enclaves to move anywhere. Unless blacks and Mexicans started moving in, then they would skedaddle posthaste!

              1. But I thought all HRC supporters loved their black/brown/yellow brothers and sisters. Oh right so long as they don’t have to actually interact with them. Funny, no one wants to move to Saudi Arabia or Qatar Now that would be a real multi culti adventure.

My mind is all over the place tonite: “The Sheltering Sky” just popped in my head. Need to rewatch that film.

          2. I made it through eight years of Reagan and W. I will survive Trump as well.

The question is whether our country will survive.

            1. if the world survives we will survive. Still think he will be impeached and Pence will be installed. Buy gold and keep provisions on hand.

              1. Gloria Allred’s daughter, Lisa Bloom, is now representing the plaintiff.
In June, she wrote a piece critical of the media for not giving more coverage to the story.
So she hypes a press conference that will feature the alleged victim, for the first time, publically speaking out.
                And it’s a no show.
A reporter for The Daily Beast was not surprized.
Brandy Aboviny ( spelling on last may be wrong, was not surprised.
She had been promised interviews with the alleged victim before, and like the press yesterday, had been burned because of noshows.
The alleged threats against reporter Tor were reporter months ago…c. 3 months ago, long before the latest round of this soap opera.
IF a press conference with the alleged victim does occur, you can bet that it will happen before the election on Tuesday.
The timing, and the sources of these allegations, fit an established Allred pattern of jumping in at politically expedient moments.

            2. http://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-news-and-politics/216700/who-goes-trump “It’s true that some Trump supporters loathe the man’s behavior and more outré positions, but nonetheless see him as something of a savior figure. They are willing to put their faith in a sociopath because they have convinced themselves that the alternative will literally destroy the country. On the other hand, many, perhaps most, Trump supporters aren’t voting for him in spite of his talking like a thug, demeaning women, and hurling racist insinuations at the country’s first black president, but because he does these things.

“Believe me, nice people don’t go Nazi,” Dorothy Thompson wrote. “Their race, color, creed, or social condition is not the criterion. It is something in them. Those who haven’t anything in them to tell them what they like and what they don’t—whether it is breeding, or happiness, or wisdom, or a code, however old-fashioned or however modern, go Nazi.” Trump supporters are people who, were he to become president, would explain away the mosque firebombing or Attorney General Chris Christie’s “opening up the libel laws” against The New York Times, just as passive Nazi voters looked away from the “Don’t buy from Jews” graffiti spray-painted on the neighborhood grocery store. These people are lacking “something in them,” a moral code, and their very large numbers are a troubling indicator of a rot in the American soul.”

              1. Yeah, just like Hillary supporters explain away her dishonesty and her flouting of the law and cover-ups. How they turn away from the assertions of rape and sexual misconduct against her husband (hanging out on pedophile island with Jeffrey Epstein). How they look away from the destruction she caused in Libya and Syria and wants to continue. Her ties to Saudi Arabia and Wall St. Her public/private positions.

Take the log out of your own eye. They are both awful and they will both be detrimental to the US.

She is a liar. Where is her moral code? Wall St.? Military-Industrial Complex?

What rot. Clinton supporters cannot boast they are in any way morally superior. Condescending garbage.

                1. Tablet is a liberal Jewish publication. Hillary is perceived to be bad by some and Trump is by others. The writer provides a different perspective than the usual alt reich garbage you read here. I guess her article did not meet with your approval. White Christians are not the only people that will be deciding this election, just sayin.

                  1. Conservative Zionist Jews are going with Trump overall. Sheldon Adelson has given him tons of money. Liberal Jews are going with HRC.

                2. The young lady in question met Trump at pedophile island. Bill and Donald both frequented the place but only the Donald has been accused of raping a thirteen year old there. Donald said he could shoot someone and his supporters would back him and that seems to be the case. Kelly Ayotte says she wants to keep them both away from her daughter and that statement might help her win re-election.

      2. Squeek, I can smell the panic and fear. Hillary, sitting in her hotel room, “smelling like boiled cabbage, urine and farts” is sending out all her robots, even the ones who “are acting like a retard.” All those quotes are by John Podesta talking about the stinky candidate. LOVE Wikileaks!!

  6. This story sent chills down my spine. Because, it was Peter Kadzik who was seated directly behind and just to the right of Comey, as Comey testified before one his appearances before Congress.

  7. The Democrats cannot be the only corrupt ones. Will we be seeing the corruption of Republicans next year?

    1. Prairie Rose,

Corruption crosses both sides of the political spectrum. Right now all the focus is on HRC and her devious minions, but the Republicans who support her are just as guilty. That’s why honing a non partisan gimlet eye is essential IMO to route out the evildoers.

  8. One of the few Members of Congress commanding a high level of Integrity,Trey Gowdy, speaks concerning Sen. Reid’s admonishment of Director Comey:

    1. Hahaha! Trey Gowdy and the word integrity in the same sentence. I’m glad you have a sense of humor!

Trey Gowdy who admitted he altered emails to make Hillary Clinton look guilty.

Trey Gowdy who admitted that the Benghazi hearings were 100% political.

Trey Gowdy who was called out and condemned by the CIA.

Trey Gowdy who used HIS OWN PRIVATE EMAIL ACCOUNT to conduct government business.

Trey Gowdy who singed the senate letters to the government of Iran undermining the agreement the US had made with Iran on nuclear proliferation.

THAT Trey Gowdy? Or are you thinking of some other Trey Gowdy?

        1. There you go again Squeek!! “Blaring like a trumpet” or did Philalet mean strumpet? Couldn’t resist =)

            1. Fabulous. Really – you are so talented should be syndicated somewhere. BTW – do you ever watch Lars von Trier films? He’s very dark and edgy but so unique his works are forever burned into one’s psyche. That’s why I am careful which ones I view =) but I digress….

This reminds me of his film Dogville. You might like it.

              1. Autumn – I like few of von Trier’s films, but I did like Dogville, mostly because of the staging.

  9. On the national level, the democratic party rebuilt Tammany Hall and proclaimed Hillary Clinton as today’s Boss Tweed–and I am not being metaphorical.

Since the party actively promoted Boss Clinton to the level of a presidential candidate knowing this corruption and using reprehensive means, it is equally as corrupt as she.

We are now seeing corruption in the democratic party go from behind the curtain to one in which it is openly so since it is tolerated and promoted among government and democrats. This is a dangerous time for America in a structural way. Corruption is becoming expected and the apathetic public ignores the problem and will seek to participate in any way they can in the hope to receive some form of benefit The ones who call for reform are either punished or dismissed.

If this situation deteriorates the DNC might be indictable under the RICO Act. But given the protection of the Clintons, party leaders, and government officials, it will never happen in today’s environment.

  10. off topic re: voting

I just spoke with a friend who did early voting in Reno. They have voting machines, but also get a paper printout.

Many states (like SC) do not have this feature and I have read about a county in TX where Trump votes flipped for HRC. Luckily someone caught this and they did a revote with paper ballots.

My intention was to vote and take a selfie but apparently it is illegal in SC. So no proof of how I cast my vote.
Anyhow, I thought I’d pass this on so folks are aware of this issue.

    http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/10/25/13389980/ballot-selfie-legal-illegal

    1. The dems in Florida are already messing with the sealed ballots. Here we go again.

    2. The only people who have been caught cheating this election cycle are Republican Trump supporters. He “jokingly” told people who had voted by absentee ballot to go vote in person and a lot of them got caught doing exactly that.

And now judges are looking at a decades old consent decree under which the Republican party was barred from all their voter intimidation tactics. Now they are at it again and a federal court in New Jersey is looking at the charges.

But nice try blaming the other team for what your team is actually doing.

      1. He has not been charged yet, but he probably did not register these people as Republicans:

“eet, Andrew Spieles, a student at James Madison University, and apparently “Lead Organizer” for HarrisonburgVOTES. According to the Daily News-Record, Spieles confessed to re-registering 19 deceased Virginians to vote in the 2016 election cycle.

While this should come as a surprise to precisely 0 people, Spieles just happens to be Democrat who, accorded to a deleted FaceBook post, apparently recently ran for Caucus Chair of the Virginia Young Democrats.”

        http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-09-30/meet-young-virginia-democrat-registered-19-dead-people-vote-virginia

  11. Keep slogging the email non-story. Hillary Clinton has dropped about 12-13 points in her likeliness to win prediction from five thirty eight.

Never mind the Trump connections to the Russian Afra Bank.
Never mind Trumps private email server he set up to coommunicate with the Russians.
Never mind the stories about Trumps actual ties to The Kremlin.
Never mind the stories about Trumps proven ties to the Mafia.
    Or his upcoming fraud trial.
    Or his upcoming rape trial.
Or Comey’s obvious malfeasance in going public with the newest email non-story
Or Comey’s further malfeasance in releasing notes and emails related to the 2000 pardon of Marc Rich.

Just keep slogging that non story about the emails while the absolute worst person in modern American politics keeps fomenting hatred, racism and misogyny.

Oh, and Jill Stein? She has proven that the Green Party is now 100% phony and irrelevant.

    1. Clearly you haven’t read the emails, shill. I digress, but it reminds me of a quote; Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

      1. It doesn’t matter whether I’ve read the emails or not. The issue involves the interference with a national election by the FBI director who is supposed to stay out of it.

And you know damn well if it was the other way around all the alt-right people here would be screaming and crying and whining for his resignation.

The email issue can be continued after the election. Just like Trump’s child-rape case. Just like his fraud trial. Just like the further investigations into his misuse of his charity’s funds, his tax evasion, his ties to Russian spies and the other fifty things that will show up.

          1. I happen to like Reverend Wright. He may be out there on some issues but then again he lived during a different era. Wright has done more for black people than Obama ever did. Trinity grew exponentially under his leadership and it wasn’t all about Sunday service and raking in money. He provided literacy and job skills training and reached out to other denominations. When all the brou ha ha broke after his speech at the National Press Club I decided to watch it myself. I was impressed overall and unlike many others on the Hill Wright served honorably in the military.

Obama threw him under the bus and that should have been my wake up call that Obama is a tool. But then again faced with McCain and Palin there really was not another choice. Palin as president was too horrid to contemplate.

Wright may harbor some conspiracy theories, but IMO he has more integrity in his thumb nail than Obama has in his entire body.

There is a reason that the Obamas are not returning to Chicago – they are largely reviled by the community.

    2. Do you know how to tell there is no connection between Russia and Trump? Harry Reid said there was. That’s all you need to know.

    3. Philat, you Hilbots are becoming shriller and angrier as HRC continues to sink.

Even Barak, Michelle, Bon Jovi, Jay-Z and (literally) nasty gals like Lena Dunham can’t rescue her.

i know many Trump supporters and none of them are hateful folks. looking at the pre Trump rally footage the folks lining up look quite normal to me – many bring their kids, lots of women young and old, blacks, hispanics, gays, etc. They all seem to be peaceful and happy and are turning out in droves – thousands and thousands everywhere.

The globalist Establishment is facing their worst nightmare: the American public is paying attention and we are going to vote. Further, Progressives and uniting with Trumpsters to keep HRC out of the WH. Young blacks and hispanics are refusing to vote for her.

If HRC had the guts to debate Jill Stein it would be game over.

Face it: the Democrats picked the wrong candidate.

      Jill not Hill 2016

      1. The sad thing is, even if Trump wins, and the country does not descend into slavery for blacks, or we get blown up by nukes, PhilaT will be right back at it shilling for the Democratic Party again in 2020, and 2024, and 2028 etc. He will call whoever runs as a Republican, “racisssst!, homophobic, xenophobic, etc. etc. etc.”

He will once again reach the totally “non-partisan, neutral, uninterested, unbiased” conclusion that whoever is running as a Democrat is the only choice for good and intelligent people to vote for.

Because he is a Democrat for the same reason that Barlow Scruggs, of Bumfuk West Virginia, handles rattlesnakes, dances around, and speaks in tongues. Because it is simply a matter of faith to him. And a matter of class hatred toward his mindset-brothers, like Barlow Scruggs.

I do love how you and some of your pals on this board talk about other posters as if you were having a private conversation and no one else was reading it.

          Very clever. Really.

          1. That may be because whenever I try to have conversations with you, I get the feeling like stuff just goes in one of your ears and out the other. I think maybe you have Teflon-coated synapses or something, and any kind of facts, or new thoughts, are chemically unable to bond. Either that, or you just think that you are too smart, and your opinions too reasonable, to admit that you might actually learn something from a Trump supporter.

Sooo, why not just have a private conversation, as if you were not there? Because in one sense, you aren’t. I would have better luck with your avatar doggie. I could teach him new tricks!

    4. Sorry, but the emails are a very big issue – it’s far from a non-issue.

And the Clintons are in their own unique category of corruption, collusion, and obstruction that runs deep and wide.

Wikileaks is doing the job that the muck-raking news reporters like Woodward and Bernstein used to do. We don’t have that any longer. So now we have Wikileaks. They exposed George Bush as well. And now they are exposing Hillary Clinton.

I just bought a Wikileaks tee shirt to support their work.

      1. Where did you buy it? I can think of a few people who might like one for Christmas, lol.

  12. Hey guys and gals if you didn’t see it today Hilly got heckled in Florida. You can tell she isn’t used to it so she went into this arm thrusting tirade, rather amusing to watch her try to deal with it. I’ll bet her dry cleaner is going to find some skid marks in the seat of those pants suit after that.

  13. By reading the comments by some of you out there, I would like to know , when you and like mined people get together…Which books do you burn first?

    1. If you are referring to censorship, I believe that is predominantly taking place by those on the left? Such as social media blackouts in news feeds of news that hurts HRC…..burying stories, etc etc….

      1. Right on Lee. It’s been astonishing watching once highly regarded news outlets fall in line for Shillary – aside from Wash Post, NY Times, The Guardian etc., The Nation, Salon, The Atlantic, Slate, Daily Kos, TYT, The New Yorker, and on and on

        It’s the new new right?

    2. “Which books do you burn first?”

      Glenn,
What was the net affect of the IRS targeting of conservative groups? Oh that’s right, they silenced speech to throw an election.

Do you have any other asinine questions?

  14. “Last November, [Kadzik] denied a request from Republican lawmakers to appoint a special counsel to lead the investigation.

In a Feb. 1, 2016 letter in response to Kadzik, Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis noted that Kadzik had explained “that special counsel may be appointed at the discretion of the Attorney General when an investigation or prosecution by the Department of Justice would create a potential conflict of interest.”

DeSantis, a Republican, suggested that Lynch’s appointment by Bill Clinton in 1999 as U.S. Attorney in New York may be considered a conflict of interest. He also asserted that Obama’s political appointees — a list which includes Kadzik — “are being asked to impartially execute their respective duties as Department of Justice officials that may involve an investigation into the activities of the forerunner for the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.”

Kadzik does not appear to have responded to DeSantis’ questions.”
