Podesta Warned: “I Hope Hillary Truly Understands Now How Batshit Crazy David Brock Is”

WikileaksHillary_Clinton_Testimony_to_House_Select_Committee_on_BenghaziOne of the issues that was raised repeatedly by Bernie Sanders and later by Donald Trump is the alliance between Hillary Clinton and David Brock, the founder of Media Matters. Brock has been widely attacked for what critics view as sleazy and vicious work on behalf of Hillary Clinton. You may recall Bernie Sanders denouncing Clinton for her continued alliance with Brock and use of his controversial PAC organizations. Sanders referred to Brock as simple “scum” but Clinton refused to denounced Brock or to discourage Democrats from working with or contributing to his PACs. It turns out that even Clinton aides were disgusted by Clinton’s refusal to cut off Brock or to denounced his work. In the latest batch of Wikileaks, Neera Tanden, the President of Center for American Progress, allegedly emailed John Podesta that “I hope Hillary truly understands now how batshit crazy David Brock is.”

Of course, the question answers itself. The consistent view from both inside and outside of the Clinton campaign referenced Brock in the same terms. The obvious conclusion is that it is precisely those attributes that proved the attraction.

neera_tandenThe mainstream media has been repeatedly accused of ignoring the Clinton-Brock connection. Yet, the email (if accurate) shows that Clinton allies were equally concerned about the association. Tanden previously worked for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign and later served as policy director for Barack Obama.

The subject of the email was simply “I Hope.”

    Trump!

I am up in heaven for deeds done on Earth. I canot say that Heaven is better than Earth but I can say that I left it a better place. I am coming back to Earth for another act of mercy if Hillary wins. The funding is being put together by some guy named JT. That is why I came onto the blog– to see who he was.

    1. Ryan Grim wrote an article for the Huffington Post on November 2, 2016, criticizing the media for not covering the “Katie Johnson-Donald Trump raped me when I was 13” lawsuit.
That article was written AFTER the accuser failed to appear at a press conference arrainged by Gloria Allred’s daughter.
The media swarmed in for the press conference, then Ms.Allred’s daughter, Lisa Bloom, said it was cancelled.
Earlier, I cited a Daily Beast article by Brandy Zogrosny. She wrote that she had set up interviews with the alleged victim, only to have them cancelled.
Lisa Bloom herself wrote on June 2016 (also in The Huffington Post), complaining that the media should give more coverage to the allegation.
Canceling the press conference she had hyped didn’t exactly support ( except for the few hours before the scheduled event)
      her criticism of the media.
Now this fool who wrote the piece (again, for the Huffington Post) two days ago slams the media for lack of coverage, after the media was suckered in by the no-show press conference.
I don’t think Ryan Grim, Lisa Bloom, or anyone else at the Huffington Post has commented on today’s more recent withdrawal.
Maybe the reporters who got jerked around by the press conference/ non-press conference can explain to them that an anonymous accuser who starts-stops-starts-stops etc. a lawsuit based on an alleged incident 22 years ago might not get the highest level of media coverage.
And that when her promoters schedule, then cancel, interviews with or appearences by the alledged victim, it tends to limit coverage.
I don’t know how much additional coverage the Huffington Post will give this issue.
If they reduce or stop coverage, there are other diligent publications out there, like The Rolling Stone, who like to cover these kinds of allegations.

“PUTIN TO CAMPAIGN WITH TRUMP”- from the Weekly World News, Nov. 4 2016
Maybe Ryan Grim will follow up on this new bombshell development in
        The Huffington Post.

      2. tnash80hotmailcom, HuffPost sucks – they are just like the MSM. I don’t think they retracted the “chair throwing event” in Vegas either.

        1. Autumn-
I agree with your assessment of the HuffandPuff Post.
I do need to make a correction about the Ryan Grim article I commented on earlier.
( The article froze up about halfway through it…I just finished the entire article).
Ryan Grim does in fact ( later in the article) explain the pitfalls of a reporter covering an allegation by an anonymous source, and he mentions The Daily Beast’s previous attempts to interview Trump’s accuser.
The Daily Beast’s Brandy Zadrosny essentially had the rug pulled out from under her with canceled interviews.
Given the title and the first part of Ryan Grim’s column, it sounded like a regurgitation of the crap that Gloria Allfred’s daughter wrote in HuffPuff last summer.
But Grim’s article, on the whole, was far more rational and reasonable than Lisa Bloom’s HuffPuff garbage.

          1. tnash – Gawker settled for an estimated $31 million with Hulk Hogan and Rolling Stone lost its defamation suit yesterday. I guess you really can’t just make sh*t up any more. 😉

    2. Don’t know about Kate but I I have 33 years of sobriety. WSJ has a new story concerning Trump’s pay off to the National Inquirer in order to cover up his affair while he was married to Melania. The good news for him is that this woman does not allege rape. Not a good day for Melania as the AP broke a story about her working in the states illegally along with her husband’s infidelity. Only a couple of days left…..

      1. The paper paid her and did not publish the story. Trump has so many of these sexual allegation stories going on that it is hard to keep tract of who paid whom.

      2. If there was infidelity in Trump’s marraige to Melania, there is no place in the White House for them.
A more positive “role model” type of marraige, like the Clintons’ have, will be a breath of fresh air when they move back in.

Love your sarcasm. C-Span may have an opening in its late-night lineup.

          1. Trumps and Clintons are certainly no Obamas or Romneys. It is a shame Trump feels compelled to cheat on his trophy wife.

          2. Thanks, Steve.
            Years of practice pay off!
But oddly enough, I found that some of the nuns who taught me weren’t always appreciative of sarcastic comments that would slip out😊

  2. If anyone gets indicted over all of these scandals, guess who it won’t be? That’s right, it won’t be Hillary. It’s like, never, ever gonna happen people. She deserves to be indicted, but they won’t do it.

So it seems that rogue FBI agents, Vladimir Putin, the National Enquirer, and the KKK are allied in efforts to elect @realDonaldTrump.

  3. Hillary Clinton is beginning to remind me of the famous picture of a dejected Napoleon in Moscow with the city burning in the background. So she makes it to the Presidency, but with so much damage done the Victory is Pyrrhic and her Allies and Endorsers looking to retreat or denounce her.

  4. Given all the fake news from the mainstream media these days, how far off could the following story be? The author has more followers than MSNBC and CNN combined!

“Agents in the FBI are right now seeking to topple the criminal corruption at the DOJ by targeting all the following individuals who may soon be wearing prison stripes:

    * Attorney General Loretta Lynch
    * Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates
    * Assistant Attorney General Peter Kaznick
    * Assistant Attorney General John P. Carlin
    * Assistant Attorney General Leslie Caldwell”

    ARTS & CULTURE
Trump Supporters Hilariously Mistake Famous Artist For ‘Spooky Occult’ Leader
That’s right. They started a literal witch hunt.

Priscilla Frank Arts Writer, The Huffington Post
    DRUDGE REPORT

In not-so-shocking news, it looks like Trump supporters really don’t get performance art. The quite subtle headline on the front page of the Drudge Report today reads “WIKI WICCAN: PODESTA PRACTICES OCCULT MAGIC,” referring to Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta. The artist got maligned, too. Thankfully there are only a couple of days of this nightmare left.

    1. In not-so-shocking news, it looks like Trump supporters really don’t get performance art.

We get that it’s a grant money vent pipe financed by foundations long ago hijacked by their frivolous staffs and by public agencies which long ago should have been cleared away by conscientious janitors.

    2. And just FWIW, MOST performance art is crap. The “performance artists” tend to be people with little or no talent, who substitute something outrageous for actual, real, live art. Just like with the Emperor’s New Clothes, they rook in silly-a$$ pretentious twits with more money than sense with the old, “You have to have really discriminating taste to appreciate this kind of art!”

And they catch them by boat load. If you do not respect my opinion, you might try reading up on Dave Hickey, or this piece:

      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3426312/Artist-calls-bull-pretentious-art-world-sitting-naked-silent-toilet-hours-end-New-York-gallery.html

By sheer coincidence, the artist she is mocking is none other than Marina Abramovic!

There, put that in your pipe and smoke it!

      Squeeky Fromm
      Girl Reporter

      1. Squeek, many good points but Dave Hickey is a total fraud IMO profiting off the artists he supposedly reviles. I met his wife, Libby Lumpkin when I lived in Vegas – tres sympatico. She is real. Too bad more attention is not paid to her!

      2. ‘Most performance art is crap’? WTF? I usually enjoy or at least find something informative in your comments but not this one. Performance Art is truly activist art, activism at its deepest, most guttural, most personal level. To disregard performance art is to disregard humanity.

        1. Apparently, Girl Reporter and Paul Schulte tried performance art and couldn’t quite pull themselves up by their bootstraps when foot met the stage.

Throw me in with Stuart’s lot.

          1. Steve – as a theatre major I never did performance art, but was forced to watch enough of it. I did REAL theatre, real art.

  6. Anyone that knows the straight laced mass going catholic Podesta would realize how bizarre this is. He was invited by his brother to attend the artist’s party but did not attend.

  7. Let’s make this easy.
Would you rather have Chris Wallace as WH spokes person or Jonathan Capehart?
    That’s what I’m voting for.
    Professionalism or Ass licking patronage.

      1. Really Dave, have not given it one thought that anyone in the media has not thought about the concept of partisan media fealty equals primo executive office job security?

  8. I’m amazed at the content, not necessarily the effort, go team HRC, of the rebuttals to a law professor and his “Gasp and Swoon I Just Caught The Vapors ” cruel subjectivity.
Please all of you light weights go back to salon and worship Digby will you.
You have failed your cause pathetically.

    1. Melody Barnes, Denis McDonough, Jennifer Palmieri, John Podesta.
      Rinse and repeat my friend.
Chris Christy’s fiascos fit nicely into the false equivalency formula that the left has been claiming exists when it comes to comparisons to Trump and HRC.
Honestly, is that all you have?

      1. No, Trump is involved in so many hot investigations that I have lost track of the ever increasing number.

  9. Come on you Hilbots, Glenn and harrison.
How many people in the Obama administration and now the HRC campaign/future HRC WH staff, came from the CAP?
Seriously, if they think David Brock is a full fledged Loon they would know.
    Brietbart?

Maybe you should Google WIKILEAKS JENNIFER PALMERI, JUDD LEGUM ,JOHN PODESTA.

  10. Randyjet, Mr. Turley has NO objection to any story coming from the far-right. He works for them, and it shows…………He gives his readers from the right anything that they already believe. His fair process is one that gives them the answer that they already know what they want….

    1. I would appreciate some comments from the far left. Oh… sorry the DNC ended that by throwing Bernie under the bus. Sorry, I don’t see either of these two candidates being left of center. If you think Clinton is, you are fooling yourself.

  11. I think JT is choosing to bring awareness to stories the mainstream media largely chooses to ignore or bury.

I certainly appreciate his effort and consider it a public service. There is plenty of coverage out there on all things negative for Trump. Not so much when it comes to Clinton. It’s like two different realities are created daily in the media – the reality they want you to know and the truth of what’s happening.

Like, I haven’t seen much reporting or outrage on Clinton moles infiltrating the Department of Selective Policing. Or Clinton moles corrupting CNN and the DNC. Or outrage over Clinton talking about starting a nuclear war over Syria. And on and on it goes…

Trivia question: How many Clinton scandals will it take to topple Hillary even as the media continues to prop her up and actively participate in all the cover-ups?

    1. Trump, Putin, Assange and Rudy G.’s friends at the FBI are all trying to topple Clinton. I guess we will know late Tuesday if they are able to prevail.

    2. Hillary is hardened after 30+ years of observing and participating in sleazy politics and criminal corruption, she believes that the end justifies the means in all human endeavors.

When she is impeached and convicted, the “comfortably numb” public will be informed of her fate, though the media may well portray her as a victim of a “vast right-wing” conspiracy.

    3. Lee, I would add to that the infiltration of the Bernie Sanders campaign. We Bernieorbusters have not forgotten that or the false reports of chairs being thrown in Vegas… the ONLY way to topple her is to vote for Jill Stein — or Trump in swing states

      1. Agree….Bernie supporters burned by the corrupt DNC should burn the DNC right back….by voting for Jill Stein if they really want to vote for a woman….or for Trump….don’t sit this one out Bernie fans!

A vote for Trump will force the DNC to pay attention to the Bernie coalition voters they seem to take for granted will simply tow the line and vote for Hillary just b/c Bernie is out campaigning with her.

        I don’t think so.

        1. I have to part ways with both you and Autumn on this issue of BernieBros voting for Trump rather than Jill Stein in swing states.

A vote for Jill Stein is a vote for Jill Stein and also brings the Green Party closer to $1,000,000.00 in government funds for financing the Green Party candidate in 2020 if she reaches 5%. You’ll still be taking the vote away from Clinton and the undeserving and intentionally ignorant Democratic Party.

If you want third-party politics to enter the national arena, then vote for a third party.

          1. Thank you. This s the reason I give for voting third party. I hear so many complaints about the poor candidates from both the R and D camps. Unfortunately we have a system where political parties are part of the system. No amount of whining will change that. So to make the two dominant parties stand up and take notice, give them competition by supporting a third party.

            1. Paul – I don’t think Trump represents the Republican Party of old. Turn out voting for Trump is the highest for any candidate in history. I think with Trump you are seeing a non-politician who can drive votes. The core of the Republican Party is not happy with The Donald.

    4. This blog is like a horsefield. One can ride across it and either avoid the horse turds or step in it. I am going to avoid this turd field. This article is a crock of shit.

      1. “I am going to avoid this turd field.”

And yet you rode to the middle of it and dropped your own apples.
