James Hodgkinson alleged shooter in Alexandria incident. This is James T. Judging from a Facebook page for a user named James Hodgkinson from Belleville, Illinois, he appears a critic of both President Donald Trump and Republicans.  He is shown here calling for higher taxes and he appears to be wearing a t-shirt wih the word “Republican” on it.

He appears a supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders and volunteered on this campaign.  Sanders has denounced him and his actions.

Hodgkinson wrote such messages as “Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.”  Just two days ago, he wrote  “I Want to Say Mr. President, for being an ass hole you are Truly the Biggest Ass Hole We Have Ever Had in the Oval Office,” He is also a critic of Hillary Clinton who he referred to as “Republican Lite.” Indeed, he wrote “You’ve been warned DNC. I will NEVER vote Hillary. A nomination for Hillary equals a win for Trump. #NOTWithHer.”

The hatred for Republicans is obvious. In October 2015 he wrote “Thieving Republican Congress Strikes Again!!!”

  1. Another typical Leftist. Proof yet again that I am 100% right on the major threats to Americans. EVERY terrorist attack –without exception–has been carried out by a Leftist or Leftists during the last 2 years. I only expect these Leftist terrorist attacks to accelerate as the continued assaults from Leftists continue in the MSM and in the Democratic Party, as they not only condone these attacks, but actually encourage even more of them.

Here’s a clip that the Leftists here like Turley and his ilk can, no doubt, savor and enjoy:

    1. CNNs Fareed Zakaria hailed this play “a Masterpiece” that everyone should see.

    2. Oh my, what a “leftist” Timothy McVeigh was. And Erich Rudolph. And Dylann Roof.

      Oh, wait. Never mind.

Ralph Adamo you don’t have a very broad knowledge base, do you?

  2. An individual or group of individuals can only be demonized for so long before a nutcase emerges who resorts to violence.

    1. A few months ago I bookmarked this Twitter thread created by a guy who writes at “The Nation”. He was keeping track of the articles he saw in which the writers compared Trump to some unflattering, usually evil, character. It’s a very long thread and takes a while to load. His comments at times made me laugh.

    2. I pasted the URL as part of my comment but for some reason it plastered what appears to be an image of two or three of the articles. There are probably about 50 or 60 in total. If you click on what appears to be an image, I think it will take you to the whole thread if anybody is interested.

  3. I don’t believe the country would ever erupt into a full-blown ‘civil’ war, but we sure are in the midst of an ‘uncivil’ war.

    1. You are probably right. But I would not be surprised at all to see some pretty heavy localized violence, in places like New York City, Chicongo, Detroit, Baltimore, and Los Angeles. Places with large poor minority populations (who are armed), and wimpy middle/upper classes who think guns are icky.

At some point there is likely to be a major financial disruption in the country, and a major transition to a different kind of financial system. and that is the most likely time for it to happen.

      1. ‘When they go low, we go high’? Nope. ‘Love Trumps Hate’? Not buying that one either.

      2. Squeek – trying to do well-balanced input from indies. Actually Tim Black who is essentially polar opposite politically turned me on this guy. I think there is a certain respect level amongst the indies – we don’t have to agree on everything but if someone is spot on give ’em credit. Breaking out of the MSM bubble.

        PS – Styxx is a Vermonter =)

  4. I think that he is on the list of those who unwittingly and secretly were tested with doses of LSD at the Malcolm Bliss facility and State Hospital in St. Louis back in the 1970s under what was termed the MkUltra Program which was run by the CIA. Someone out there with access to records look him up or ask his family if they knew.

  5. This is sehr interessant! Bernie Sanders back in 2011 when Gabby G got shot:

Sen. Sanders Sends Out Fundraising Email Citing Arizona Tragedy
    January 11, 2011
    By ABCNEWS.COM

    ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports:

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, today sent out a fundraising email to supporters in which he includes his analysis of the Arizona shootings that ties the tragedy to “right-wing reactionaries.”

“This horrendous act of violence is not some kind of strange aberration for this area where, it appears, threats and acts of violence are part of the political climate,” Sanders said in his letter. “Nobody can honestly express surprise that such a tragedy finally occurred.”

The Vermont senator, who caucuses with Democrats, cited past Arizona incidents such as vandalism at Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ district office after the health care reform vote and Sarah Palin’s “crosshairs” map, as well as other outbreaks of violence like when a bullet was shot into Rep. Raul Grijalva’s office.

“In light of all of this violence – both actual and threatened – is Arizona a state in which people who are not Republicans are able to participate freely and fully in the democratic process?” asks Sanders. “Have right-wing reactionaries, through threats and acts of violence, intimidated people with different points of view from expressing their political positions?”

“My colleague, Senator John McCain, issued a very strong statement after the shooting in which he condemned the perpetrator of the attack. I commend him for that. But I believe Senator McCain and other Arizona Republicans need to do more,” Sanders said. “As the elder statesman of Arizona politics McCain needs to stand up and denounce the increasingly violent rhetoric coming from the right-wing and exert his influence to create a civil political environment in his state.”

Sooo, maybe Bernie needs to practice what he preached! And like I suggested earlier, perhaps he and Pelosi could personally escort Milo and Ann Coulter thru the Democratic Mob at their next speech.

  6. “He hatred for Republicans is obvious. In October 2015 he wrote “Thieving Republican Congress Strikes Again!!!””

That by itself does not sound like hatred. It sounds like angry disagreement.

Perhaps the totality of his Facebook rants will indicate hatred.

  7. Camp’s response on alternet linke =) Not fancy enough to have a graphic presence like the NYT =)

    1. I’m curious how Julia Ioffe is commenting on MSNBC.
As paranoid as these Neo-Liberals are about everything Russian they seat her at the table with all the other talking heads.
She’s Russian born. She speaks fluent Russian. How can she not be a spy for Putin put into play like the Manchurian Candidate.
Don’t they know their getting played by a media mole?

    1. Yep, that seems consistent with what I generally hear from the left these days. I wonder if today’s act is the snowball just beginning? I’m sure the Clintons are ecstatic.

  8. autumn,

That lawsuit against DNC goes to the heart of the matter. That the commie/nazi progs claims the Russians hacked the 2016 is their attempt to redirect the narrative. The Russians didn’t hack the election, it’s believed now that it was the Seth Rich, a pizzed off Bernie supporter, Leaked the DNC docs to Wikileaks.

That’s the reason The US Senate should get his PC from the DC police & let us know if there’s other evidence on it about the Leaks.

    1. Oky — most of us think Seth was taken out as he was disgruntled with DWS and Clinton. Also, the process server for the case, Shawn Lucas was found dead with a lethal amount of drugs in his system though his girlfriend and family said he never used drugs. and just a few weeks ago Beranton Whisenant, an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida was found drowned – a blow to head and in his suit – in DWS’s backyard.

      1. It’s hard for most us to keep with all that show up dead around the Clintons & Bushes.

I found the old Gary Webb & Berry Seal cases very interesting.

  9. This subhuman lowlife loser is a terrorist…just like his Daesh (ISIS) brethren are…..and explaining it away by calling him a political activist does disservice to all political activists on the all sides (liberal, conservatives and yes even the alt-rights)–I finished off some thoughts in my Word Press corner earlier..and was very very proud of featuring excerpts of remarks by Speaker Ryan..

    1. It’s funny, when a member of the “alt-right”, i.e. any non liberal white person by your standards, shoots anyone it’s news. But all those alt-left black people that are constantly shooting everyone in every big city across the country are too numerous and common to even be considered news. Stop with your Godless vitriol, turn off CNN and attempt to grow a brain cell. The anti white, anti conservative media is complicit in this attack, so are you.

    2. Bullsh*t, because you are implying that there is no similarity between this guy shooting Republicans, and SJWs shutting down Trump rallies, or rioting at Berkeley, or violently shutting down Milo and Ann Coulter from their speeches.

Sorry, but once a political party thinks that the law does not apply to them, this is what you get. This Hodgkinson guy isn’t some random nut. He is not a “one off.” He is a typical rabid, drooling, mindless, hysterical, violence-loving Democrat.

      1. Is this your full-time job? Who pays you to write your comments? Really, you can tell us SFGR. I see all the typical right wingnut ideas in your comments, e.g., accuse the “other side” of exactly what your “side” does constantly. “Violence loving Democrat”? Pot calls the kettle what.

    3. This subhuman lowlife loser is a terrorist…

His stated viewpoint was similar to a very common type of partisan Democrat. He was also apparently emotionally unstable.

        1. Roscoe Coltrane – yes, he is the same type of terrorist that Timothy McVeigh was.

    1. I can’t help but wonder what your reaction would have been if his name was from the Middle East–A terrorist is a terrorist…end of story….but it seems folks of your ilk seem not to care about “facts”….Furthermore, since you claim yourself to be a “girl reporter”, you need to report the whole thing…this guy went on to say this:

Blaming Bernie is asinine. But people should consider the implications for other forms of political violence: causation always tenuous.
      ************************************************************************************************************
so make sure you tell the whole story and not be “half-baked”…beyond that, blaming is easy..building and learning and emerging stronger is what we should all be focused on……I will take my queue from the Speaker of the House and the President of the United States today……

    2. look at you Squeek! Posting a TYT reporter! =) Love Michael Tracey – one of the few true independents on that “progressive” show

      1. Autumn, as a reader of Glenn Greenwald’s twitter account I too was amazed at her posting of Michael Tracey comments!
Squeek Vader, I know there is a good side to you. Search your feelings. . .
        Tulsi Gabbard 2020!

    1. Nope, this is just good, old-fashioned political violence. What’s old is new again. Guess we better get used it, comrade.

      1. slohrss,I don’t know.

Here’s the definition from the inter tubes:
“The calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear.”

Seems like those were all met.

I guess technically members of Congress are civilian officers, but as the saying goes, if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, not in Arabic of course. . .

So is it just GOF political violence as you suggest?

        https://www.vocabulary.com/dictionary/act%20of%20terrorism

    2. You know that the logic you’re trying go use with these liberals doesn’t work don’t you? They know it’s a politically motivated act of violence perpetrated by the extreme left. They simply aren’t willing to commit social suicide and deviate from the liberal socially accepted, logic free, regurgitated talking points. Then they’d be deemed “uncool” by their idiot liberal peers. You know that social status and the perception of one’s “cool factor” is what drives all liberal thought. Not actual logic, analytical or critical thinking. There’s no original thought on the left. Just face piercings, Godlessness, immorality and hair dye. They actually think this violence is justified, they are just thankful that the shooter was white, because since he’s what the left demonizes in the first place, they don’t have to defend him.

    3. Is it terrorism if it is not associated with an organized group?

      IRA, Hamas, ISIS, etc.

      1. PR, I would vote “no”. It’s just mental illness stimulated to action by hateful rhetoric from the Left.

        1. It’s not the MO of the delivery vehicle, it’s the actual results of the violence itself that establishes the deed as a terroristic act.
It all depends upon the provenance of the victim.

        1. Roscoe Coltrane – in groups the strongest minded or strongest person takes over the group and becomes the group will.

      2. Prairie Rose – BLM is making the argument that they are not organized so they cannot be sued for damages for inciting a riot. However, they somehow have a bank account.

    1. Justice Holmes – violence is part of life. Are you an only child?

      1. Paul, you think that because violence is a part of life it is not and cannot be despicable?

        1. peltonrandy – ever have surgery? That is violence and you allowed to surgeon to do it to you.

          1. Wherever did you get your definition or understanding of violence. Surgery is not violence by any definition with which I am familiar. Violence involves use of physical force with malicious intent to hurt, damage or kill someone. A surgeon is not performing the act of surgery upon you with this intent. But even it surgery can be considered an act of violence, this still does not mean that violence cannot be despicable. It would only mean that violent acts such as surgery that lack the malicious intent are not despicable, but those with such intent certainly qualify as despicable.

            1. peltonrandy – do you remember that consent form they have you sign before surgery? It says they are allowed to commit armed violence on your body with your permission. Read it word for word some time.

            2. peltonrandy – do you remember that consent form they have you sign before surgery? It says they are allowed to commit armed violence on your body with your permission. Read it word for word some time.

              1. Just admit when you’re wrong, PS. It may be a battery but it’s not violence. You love to take the discussion off course just say something goofy and then defend it.

                1. Feyd Rautha – someone cuts you open with a very very sharp knife and that is not violence?

                  1. No, Paul, it is not violence. Got a damn dictionary handy? Look up the definition of the word. Without the malicious intent, there is no violence. Surgery is not an act of violence.

                    1. peltobnrandy – behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something. This includes surgery.

                    2. Here is one from Merriam Webster: “intense, turbulent, or furious and often destructive action or force eg the violence of the storm”. Pretty clearly violence does not necessarily have to do with intent or even destructive action.

An example of intense, turbulent or furious action related to surgery might be morcellation which cuts tissue into to small pieces that can (hopefully) be removed from the body by suction. Unfortunately, the technique sometimes distributes cancer cells into the body leading to metastasis.

So morcellation could be an example of violence with good intent with damage or without damage.

And there is the MW example of a storm with no intent and the possibility of damage or without damage.

There, aren’t we all better for having read the dictionary and googled a little to find controversial surgery techniques and tools.
