False Arrest or False Advertising? Massachusetts Man Arrested Naked At Planet Fitness

stagno2c eric Police: Naked Man Arrested At Planet Fitness Said He Thought It Was A Judgment Free ZoneEric Stagno, 34, insisted that he was only enjoying Planet Fitness’s policy of being a “Judgment Free Zone” . . .  when he walked around naked and started doing exercises on the yoga mats.

Not only was the experience not judgment free, but he is looking at a formal judgment on charges of indecent exposure/lewdness and disorderly conduct.

Worse yet, other Planet Fitness devotees were full of judgments from “disgusting” to feeling “sick.”

Notably, Stagno was in compliance with the “no jeans” dress policy:

The charges would seem well established but does that make Planet Fitness a co-conspirator?

  1. Planet Fitness. All the shoes that are fit to print. All the dorks who are fit to barf. Those who exercise together seek aclaimation. They need to run in the forest alone.

  2. So when naked men expose themselves or spy on women the women’s locker room at a Planet Fitness and women complain or warn other women entering the locker room that a man is inside, the women’s Planet Fitness memberships are revoked.

But when a naked man enters the gym floor area, he is arrested.

So it is not OK for naked men to expose themselves to patrons outside the women’s locker room (of course it is not OK), but perfectly fine and their “human right” for naked men to expose themselves to women inside the women’s locker room.

Sounds legit. Women should not join Planet Fitness.

  3. Well, that was a laugh for the day. I always liked a literalist in my classes, it kept you on your toes verbally.

  4. That’s a funny story – sounds like the guy just wanted attention.

FWIW I just read a book called “Nomadland” by Jessica Bruder about people who live in their campers and/or cars. It’s an interesting read – with the Internet these folks can exchange survival tips one of which is Planet Fitness. Since it is a nationwide chain for a small fee the “nomads” can join and have access to hot showers no matter where they are camping. Now every time I see one that’s what comes to mind….

      1. Very cool Mr. Kurtz. We had a VW Westphalia camper back in the day – traveled all over Europe in it

  5. they suck, you can’t grunt loudly when lifting weights or they scold you. dont waste a second there.

  6. You know, this all started with a “Judgement Free” zone. That’s just waiving a red flag.

Hope they burned the yoga mats.
