It seems like Democratic and media sources have been struggling with calculation since Yang lost the primaries. Joe Biden explained recently to the public that 150 million people have been killed by guns since 2007. Now, MSNBC Brian Williams and New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay have delivered a cringe-worthy moment on the math behind Bloomberg’s campaign.

New York Times editorial board member Mara Gay applied some new math to her analysis of the cost of the disastrous Bloomberg campaign. On Tuesday, Gay tweeted “Bloomberg spent $500 million on ads. The U.S. population is 327 million. He could have given each American $1 million and still have money left over, I feel like a $1 million check would be life-changing for people. Yet he wasted it all on ads and STILL LOST.”

It is clearly not just life changing but math changing since that would mean that there was only 327 people living in the United States. Gay may have been referring to the survivors after 150 million were mowed down by guns according to Biden . . . she is off by an order of millions.

Williams however declared “It’s an incredible way of putting it.”

Gay then responded “It’s an incredible way of putting it. It’s true.”

Incredible, yes. True, no.

  4. The real story here is so simple that anyone who can operate a calculator correctly can see it for themselves:

    Bloomberg’s campaign expenditures – $500,000.000 divided by 330,000,000 resident of the US = $1.52 for each US resident.

    MSNBC just showed how trustworthy their reporting of any story requiring even cursory research is – not at all.
    Brian Wiliams demonstrated why he now works in NBC/Universal’s version of Siberia. He’s an empty suit.

He will say something snarky or call names, or something but his intent is to get away from the source of the discomfort as quickly as possible. He is like an alcoholic, who when someone says to him, “We all have bosses who are difficult but we don’t all drink a fifth of Jim Beams every night and pass out” – he wants to, nay has to, end that conversation and scoot as quickly as possible.

    Bloomberg could have given every American almost $2,000,000.
    Russians could have given every American $1,000.

    Paint Chips and Nutchacha logic would conclude; Bloomberg should have hired Russians for their targeted marketing skills.

    1. I wouldn’t trust MSNBC math, Olly. If Bloomberg gave away his entire $60 Billion fortune, I think that comes to about $200 for every American, not $2,000,000.
