Biden Slams CBS Reporter For Asking About The Hunter Biden Scandal

For years, many of us have criticized President Donald Trump for his attacks on the media when they asked him about controversies involving him or his family.  The media however has been largely silent as Democratic leaders have ratcheted up attacks on any journalists who question their positions. That was evident recently when Speaker Nancy Pelosi bizarrely attacked CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer as an apologist for the Trump Administration simply because he pressed her on blocking the stimulus package. Other liberals attacked Blitzer after the interview.  Now Joe Biden slammed the first network reporter who asked for a response to the unfolding scandal involving his son Hunter Biden. In emails found on the laptop, Joe Biden is named in communications with foreign figures seeking influence over U.S. policy. Biden refused to comment and then disparaged CBS News reporter Bo Erickson for even asking him the question.

Erickson simply asked “Mr. Biden, what is your response to the New York Post story about your son, sir?”

Biden responded “I have no response.” Then Biden added “I know you’d ask it. I have no response, it’s another smear campaign, right up your alley, those are the questions you always ask.”

Biden has been hammered for refusing to tell voters whether he will support packing the Supreme Court. This however concerns emails where there are not just allegations of influence peddling worth millions coming from China, Russia, and Ukraine but references his possible knowledge or involvement. As I wrote recently, there is a striking refusal of the Biden campaign to offer the expected responses to such allegations.

I have expressed my skepticism over how this laptop was found and when it was disclosed publicly. This could very well be the work of foreign intelligence. However, as I discussed this morning in the Hill, that does not mean that the emails and photos are fabricated. Many of us have long denounced Hunter Biden’s work as a classic influence peddling scheme. That does not make it a crime, but it is a common form of corruption in Washington. These emails however, if true, would contradict Joe Biden’s past statements of his lack of knowledge or involvement. Moreover, it would shatter Joe Biden’s repeated assurance that his son did “nothing wrong.”  One can argue over whether this is a crime, but few would say that there is nothing wrong with raw influence peddling worth millions with foreign entities.

Now however the question is how other journalists will respond. ABC has yet to even air the allegations and failed to ask a single question to Biden on the scandal during the recent town hall event. Whether these emails are fabricated or authentic, this story is major news. The question is whether there are major news organizations willing to report it.

If the stories are true and specifically the email where the “10 % of share are held for the big guy” and this happened during the Obama/Biden administration wouldn’t it be a violation of the emoluments clause that the left is always going on about with Trump? If this references a business in China it is probably linked with the CPC and the CPC is the Chinese government. It’s always about following the money. If it is related to Burisma is it linked to the governments of Ukraine/Russia? Just asking.

  5. As a member of the upper upper-class I see no problem. It is the way we, the world’s elite, operate. Machiavelli is our role model. Work behind the scenes with blackmail. We can get away with murder because money and blackmail. Much less any lesser crime. We are the very model of family-first. We are generous to the kids (those under 50 usually) and fill our part in the favors market for other family’s kids. Just ordinary favor trading. What’s the big deal?

  6. It’s unfortunate the Biden’s for 47 years made fortune using the office and are yet to be brought to book. The major news are complicit, so they won’t report or ask hard questions to get the truth. They won’t even investigate BECAUSE there only GOAL is to bring President Trump down.

    Imagine if Hunter’s last name was Trump. There’ll be protest all-over USA.

    Time for Biden’s to be brought to justice.

    Want to dive into Hunter land again now that that it’s a documented Russian op? Be ready to go into Vanks and junior then. I can’t take another of your push piece op eds on Hunter doing what put Bush jr. on the map before he became president. A+ for hypocrisy.

  8. This is more a response to your column on the missing “barks” in any Biden response (or lack thereof) to the story of three laptops out of a computer repair store in Wilmington, DE. You raise interesting points, as usual, but there is another possibility. This is the season of election tricks and treats and this could be one of those dirty tricks. It’s possible there was an elaborate plan to plant those laptops and to see they somehow got into the hands of Giuliani’s lawyer, then to Giuliani. Giuliani in yet another attempt to discredit someone close to Trump.

    For example, in the 2004 re-election campaign of Bush 2nd, Dan Rather and his producer, Mary Mapes, were starting to air a story about how Bush 2nd and a companion, James Reynolds Bath, went AWOL from the Tx. Air National Guard on the eve of the first physicals that were to include drug testing. The documentary evidence was a typed document which CBS had reviewed by a forensic expert. The expert found that the document had been typed on a rare manual typewriter with an unusual characteristic on one of the keys. The document was labeled a fake and the CBS careers of Rather and Mapes were ended. Although the expert was apparently right about the typewriter, the AWOL incident was also confirmed..

    I wonder (as far as I can go), if there is more chicanery here aimed at discrediting someone else someone else in the Trump administration (Giuliani). No special knowledge here, but let’s put this on the table too.

    1. Zelda, you bring up valid concerns that are obvious except there are a couple things that I think make this being an election trick less likely. First, the timing of it isn’t quite right — ideally, it would have been better to have had this information crop up right before there had been any voting and before any ballots had been sent out and there had been a first debate. The timing is a bit too late, especially given the deep dive (extensive information) that any reputable news organization would have to do to confirm credibility. Second, if this had been a planned election trick, giving the information to Giuliani actually discredits the information at this point because the poor public perception of Giuliani. Even election tricksters would have better planned to whom the information would have been provided, so as to give more credibility. With the timing being a bit too late (IMO) to have made more of a difference, and giving it to a discredited person (as well as the FBI, which is itself discredited in the eyes of many conservatives), makes this all look LESS of a political trick to me.

  9. These emails and texts also reveal the depth of Hunter’s drug addiction and lifestyle. He doesn’t come across as a stable person or an international expert on anything of value to be on the board of any Ukrainian company, except for the fact that he was the son of a VP.

  10. The left should be careful b/c this could put Kamela Harris as POTUS, and she is not a progressive. She’s completely unprincipled and only interested in power. Once she gets power, she’ll only tolerate progressivism to the extent that it benefits her. Additionally, she’s not a likable person and very unlikely to get reelected. Four years with the left in power, and any republican will defeat her.

    And I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Trump in 2024.

  14. The Supreme Court is ALREADY packed. Most of the justices are right-wingers. One is a pervert (Thomas), one is a rapist (Kavanaugh), and the rest are either conservative or middle of the road. Most Americans support progressive policies.

  16. If true, it is disqualifying. And it appears to be true. Who you gonna believe America’s mayor (with documents and photographs) or a crackhead? Rudy seems very confident. He is following the project Veritas strategy of partial disclosure. He is baiting team Biden into issuing a denial to prove he is a liar too. But team Biden is not issuing a denial, just attacking the messenger. That tells you everything. This will not end well for Joe or Hunter. I want to feel sorry for Hunter, but I got nothin’.

People use the line “this will not end well” for Joe, but the man is going to continue his election strategy of not answering questions (on the rare occasion a reporter asks the tough questions!), not seeing or hearing much from Joe (or unlikeable Kamala) …and then hoping he wins the election by whatever means necessary.

      If Biden wins, it may “end well” for Biden, Inc afterall. If Biden wins, we will not hear another word about it…except the response that what Hunter did was legal, that there was nothing illegal about any of it. Corrupt as hell, yes, but not illegal, so nothing “wrong.” Move along.

  17. Hunter Computer, Emails have been validated by Ny Post, Fox, and now Hunter partner, who is in jail, serving time, has given his entire personal Email account, to Peter Schweitzer, who has reviewed 26,000 Emails and more to come. This appears to be much worse than what has been revealed.

    In Hunters own words, confirmed by his partner, the Big Guy, is Biden and he gets his share. If correct we are seeing corruption to the Nth degree.

    Joe Biden has a lot of explaining to do, he hopes by being a Bully and Slamming the Press they will go away. IF Trump is reelected this story is just starting and the Dem’s and Biden will be running for cover. Peter Schweitzer there is a lot more to come from these Emails and his former Partner and more info from the Ukraine.

    Then did the FBI withhold the computer evidence during the impeachment? Suggest Wray is on hi way out

    1. The Bidens are grifters pure and simple. It reminds me of the Sopranos, where it is understood that you have to kick up to the “big guy”. The grift works as follows, Hunter gets an incredibly lucrative client who knows that they are buying influence with dad. The Biden clan ran their grift starting when Joe was a senator. For example, Hunter got paid $100,000 a year by credit card giant, MBNA from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, Joe Biden passed a law pushed by MBNA. This new law prevented young people from erasing student loan debt through bankruptcy. That meant that students who had been pressured to take on crushing amounts of student loans could never get rid of that debt. Joe’s Biden’s net worth today is at least $9,000,000. What does a senator make? $174,000 today. So, how does Joe live like a rich man? He was getting a portion of Hunter’s take. That included money from Burisma and the Chinese. Those relationships were cemented when Joe was Vice President. You’ll never know this if you only listen to NPR and read the New York Times.

Alfredo, unlike Trump, Biden has released his tax returns going back forever and like most ex-presidents and vice presidents, incuding Republicans, he has made the easy money from speaking fees and publications since leaving office. Look it up. Try looking it up for Trump and his grifter family which are actively engaged in all kinds of “business” pursuits in foreign countries, including China.

          ‘This form of corruption encloses transactions that are not covered by disclosure laws since they are concealed from public scrutiny. This is possible because financial deals unfolding through the family members of politicians are not disclosed. These deals benefit a politician and his family financially and cause their loyalty to deviate from the public. The wealth goes to a family member or a friend of a political figure.’

          So there is no issue with Joe Biden gladly releasing his taxes….the money is going to his son, his brother, his sister in law, his sister…..and Joe gets a kickback.

        2. Guilt is what has Joe Biden always making a big pronouncements about being the “poorest member of Congress.”

          “I entered as one of the poorest men in Congress, left one of the poorest men in government — in Congress and as vice president,” says Biden.

          “I was born into a working-class family in Scranton, Pa.” “I’m one of you…working class.”

          What is that saying? The man doth protest too much? Yeah, because a little thing called “guilty conscience.”

          Joe Biden is corrupt as hell. And he knows it.
