Five Lingering Questions In the Wake of the Mar-a-Lago Raid

Former President Donald Trump has waived any objections to the release of the warrant and property receipt after the filing of a motion by the Justice Department. The motion, however, did not seek the release of the most important document in this controversy: the supporting FBI affidavit. That is the document that would reveal what the FBI told the magistrate about the prior communications with the Trump team and the specific allegations of the status of the documents in question.

There are reports that the documents involved material of the highest possible classification dealing with nuclear weapons. There is no question that the former President has no authority to retain classified material and that the government has a legitimate right to retrieve such material.

We should see the warrant and property list relatively soon in light of the DOJ motion and the Trump waiver. My greatest interest is the specificity of the information. Here are a few questions as we wait for the warrant and list:

  1. Attorney General Merrick Garland said that the DOJ would have used other less intrusive means if they were possible. Yet, it would seem that such options were not just possible but obvious, including the use of a second subpoena. Moreover, even if a raid was necessary, it is not clear why the DOJ would descend upon Mar-a-Lago with such a massive show of force rather than send a few agents over with the warrant.
  2. If the FBI believed that there was nuclear-related information in the resort, it certainly did not seem to move with dispatch. The last communication, according to the Trump team, was in June. Even after securing a warrant, there was reportedly a delay in executing the warrant. Why?
  3. If the FBI suspected that high-level material was retained at the resort, did they identify the material to the Trump team and demand its return? It is hard to imagine the Trump Team telling the FBI to pound sand if such a demand was made. Yet, such a denial would readily support a showing of probable cause. Moreover, adding a lock to the door of a storage room would not be viewed as sufficient for material at the apex of classification levels.
  4. Did the warrant specifically identify the material or the classification level? If the warrant sought the recovery of any possible classified evidence, it would again raise what was stated in the affidavit and the reason why such material was not acquired in the June subpoena despite the reported cooperation of the Trump team.
  5. There remains the role of the confidential informant and what the person shared with the DOJ. Was there evidence of active concealment of the material or merely a statement of additional documents being stored at the resort?

It is highly unlikely that all of this information will be contained in just the warrant and the list. Given the growing controversy over the necessity of the raid, this is one circumstance where the release of the affidavit is warranted. Rather than allow such questions to fester and grow, early and total transparency would seem in the public interest.

  1. I would not release the publicize the warrant. DoJ could promplley charge him with a crime. Under seal for a reason. I don’t know the law. I do know the DoJ will lie and make one up, See Gen Flynn. Prudence requires the Judge make a ruling.

    1. Iowan2,

“ I would not release the publicize the warrant. DoJ could promplley charge him with a crime. Under seal for a reason. ”

It’s not a crime to release the copy of the warrant Trump got. He was perfectly capable of releasing it anytime. It was under seal to media and others who did NOT have a copy. Trump did.

“ I don’t know the law”. No you don’t and multiple people who do have pointed out exactly why Trump CAN release his copy of the warrant anytime he wants. The DOJ, by law could not. Obviously they made a special exception given all the whining from Trump. He got his wish.

      1. Trump CAN release his copy of the warrant anytime he wants.

Suuuure I trust the DoJ, exactly like General Flynn trusts them.

Unless Trump snuck into the WH and took something, He is not responsible for anything shipped to MAL by the GAS

        1. Iowan2. It’s your choice to remain ignorant. But it’s not just the DOJ saying Trump can release his copy of the warrant to the public. It’s every legal expert including his own lawyer admitted Trump could do that, but THEY refused.

If Trump wants to prove the DOJ is lying he can still release his copy along with the DOJ’s for comparison.

  2. ” Yet, it would seem that such options were not just possible but obvious, including the use of a second subpoena. ”

Sure Jonathan, maybe they just should have said pretty please 5 times. One subpoena is not enough?

    1. NARA was given full access to MAL in January – they retrieved whatever they wanted.

FBI was given full access in June – they retrieved whatever they wanted.

No one was stopping NARA or FBI from just stopping by MAL – with or without a warrant.

  3. Here’s a sixth and more philosophical one:

    6. Why would anyone possessing all of their mental faculties believe a person or entity that lied to you and the US courts constantly?

  4. If we are going to worry about someone’s having the nuclear launch codes we should worry about Biden having them…or Geppetto.

  5. Have to agree with the professor with the lack of transparency.
    Not good optics for them.
Anonymous sources? Why does that feel familiar?
Is this going to be another bombshell dud?

    1. The FBI had informants in that group in Michigan, that talked about kidnapping the governor…The group was led by an FBI agent, but still the FBI was paying wild sums to the informants.

      1. No what is correct is there were a few non-FBI agents that were invited into what was essentially a Fake FBI militia group, that was pretty much run by the FBI.

The SAC for this op is now in DC and it appears is running the MAL op

  6. A “Warrant” without its Annex would seem to be about as informative as a cover letter without an appended contract. As a result, perhaps there are many more than the five questions posed, such as: should Trump not heave the gauntlet back by demanding that the complete document be released as well as the inventory of property; why doesn’t the subject of the warrant have a right to observe the process to insure both the nothing is taken but not inventoried, and nothing is left that was not there before the raid; how far can the scope of a search be expanded beyond the scope of the Affidavit before it becomes intrusive and plain illegal; and absent criminal activity, are there any bounds beyond which the treatment can descend, e.g., handcuffs, leg irons, orange suit, etc.? Without all of the relevant details being made available, one is left to pick away at the matter until frustration sets in.

  7. I’m focusing on #5: “There remains the role of the confidential informant and what the person shared with the DOJ”. Who is the snitch?

At the top of this list is Trump’s son-in-law Jared Jushner.

Trump’s troubles began with the military men in his administration whom he once referred to as “my generals.”

At one point, Trump complained to his chief of staff, John F. Kelly, a former Marine general, asking why he and others couldn’t be “totally loyal” to him, like the “German generals in World War II.”

“You do know that they tried to kill Hitler three times and almost pulled it off?” Kelly allegedly responded.

So were Adolf Hitler’s generals yes men? Or did they really plot to assassinate him three times and get close once?

    1. Do not get sucked in by the Left.

Rumours and gossip are not credible – even if published by WaPo with claims they are from an inside source.

We have people in govenrment, documents from government, people from MAL who have spoken of facts.
Without putting them under oath that is the best evidence we have.

WaPo Gossip from unnamed insider sources is still gossip.

      1. “ Rumours and gossip are not credible – even if published by WaPo with claims they are from an inside source.”

Does that include the rumors and gossip about the FBI planting evidence? We shouldn’t consider that credible either, right?

        1. “Does that include the rumors and gossip about the FBI planting evidence?”
In general that would be low credibility information.

It is unfortunately higher credibility because the FBI has been doing a fair amount of that as of late.
AND because the agent heading the DC office that is running this Trump case is the same agent that was Running the office that engaged in entrappment in the Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping case.

A random claim that evidence was planted has very little credibility.

A claim that the FBI – with a reputation for planting evidence did so – is slightly more credible.
A claim that the FBI office run by the same agent who ran a massive illegal entrappment scheme within the past two years panted evidence – is stronger still.

It is not proof, it is not even close to proof, but it is a strong reason to be suspicious.

If WaPo had a track recod of accuracy over the past decade of stories from anonymous sources,
If they had properly done their job as journalists and vetted the anonymous source information.
If they had done their jobs as journalists and ceased accepting information from sources that demanded anonimity that had lied to them in the past.

Then an anonymous source story in WaPo would be more credible.
But none of that is true.

And why are these things that need to be explained to you ?

God gave you a brain. Give it some exercise.
It is possible to get better at critical thinking with practice.

        2. I do not beleive any of the several anonymous sourced stories with claims about what the FBI found or what the FBI was looking for from news sources with a poor track for vetting sources over and above first person accounts

Nor am I inclined to beleive the FBI planted evidence.

Neither is credible at this time.

A named source, or a copy of the afadavit, or a detailed list of the documents taken (which we are not getting) might change that.
Just as the CCTV video from MAL or other information might change the weight I give to clkaims that the FBI planted evidence.

Are you capable of more than binary assessments of credibility ?

Are you capable of separating credibility assessment from your own cognitive biases ?

          1. “Are you capable of more than binary assessments of credibility ?”

            Svelaz is not capable.

“Are you capable of separating credibility assessment from your own cognitive biases ?”

He has the cognition of a snail. Look at the amount he posts and almost all of it is wrong.

            1. I put it into a separate post.

I am slapping myself upside the head for not grasping this sooner.

There are very very very few “classified” documents that Trump would have any reason to keep.

As with the collusion delusion – the left always expects us to just accept allegations – without ever considering whether they make any sense.

With the collusion delusion, we had to beleive that Putin wanted Trump – despite Trump being the worst choice for Russia.
And we had to beleive that Putin and Trump conspired together to accomplish pretty much nothing, that they did so at great risk, and that Trump without any experience in international spy-craft managed to elude the FBI, Media. CIA, NSA, the intelligence services of the world and the special counsel.

This is pretty much the same level of stupidity.

%The left – and DOJ/FBI and Biden admin wants us all to beleive that Trump deliberately absconded with a small number of classified documents – some very sensitive, So that he would have pool reading ? or to Sell to the saudi’s ?

How much money do you have to offer a 76yr old Billionaire to risk a life sentence in prison an permanent disgrace ?
And if that much money was magically available – how are you going to launder it ?

Do you think that someone could pay Trump Billions of dollars without leaving a clue ?
what is Trump going to do – keep it in Bitcoin ?

If Trump got a Billion dollars for whatever, and lived another 10 years. he could not spend any of it before he died.
The interest on the wealth he already has exceed greatly what he can spend.
How would more be of value ?

So what is it that Trump purportedly gains from this ?

When you are looking for suspects – the first question is always Cui Bono
There is no answer to that here.

This is another Stupid Collusion delusion claim that makes no sense.

Only left wing nuts beleive people act that stupidly – because they do.

  8. Turley is a lawyer. He knows perfectly well that the FBI cannot by law release the affidavit. It’s not legally possible for them to do so.

The “excessive” presence of the FBI would be necessary if classified nuclear weapons material was involved. If the White House did in fact notice such information missing they could have had an “informant” who may, and I emphasize may, have been an Department of energy agent sent there to confirm that indeed such documents were there. That’s just pure speculation on my part.

Now Turley still neglected to mention that Trump was capable of releasing HIS copy of the warrant and receipt any time. But he continued to refuse. Most likely so he could take advantage of the situation and cry victim.

Either way Trump is still in serious trouble if it turns out that highly classified nuclear weapons information was in his possession. The question will be, why? Things like that aren’t just “misplaced”.

    1. Turley’s using the word {raid} in his title said it all. Keep the cult happy and calm. It’s not a raid when they know in advance.

      1. As usual, you have it exactly backwards. The left wing propagandist state media stopped using the word “raid” because they were ordered to do so by a former Biden administration official. Have to keep the Big Guy happy.

        Enjoy.

    2. Either way Trump is still in serious trouble if it turns out that highly classified nuclear weapons information was in his possession.

Other than the highly classified nuclear weapons information and all the other highly classified information former President Trump is carrying around in his head, what do you suppose he squirreled away when leaving the White House? Codes? Expired. Diagrams on building a nuclear weapon? Laughable. Strategic plans? Already in his head. Locations of our ballistic fleet? 😄 Probably of equal importance; what history has President Trump shown that he would risk our national security? Perhaps you believe he would go all Gen. Milley and call China or Russia. Perhaps you believe he is in league with Kim or the Ayatollah.

      1. “ Already in his head. Locations of our ballistic fleet? 😄 Probably of equal importance; what history has President Trump shown that he would risk our national security? ”

He’s already done that multiple times. For example he stupidly talked about the U.S. having a strategic weapons system that is far ahead of what the Russians and Chinese have. He wasn’t supposed to be hinting about it or even talk about it, but because he has a big mouth and loves to brag he’s a big liability. Fortunately he’s too stupid to remember details. But he sure could have bragged about having documents to prove it. THAT would be the problem and the government isn’t taking any chances with such a big mouth idiot like trump.

On another instance he literally gave away the security details of his big beautiful border wall before a border official promptly cut him off.

So yes he does have a history of being a blabber mouth when it comes to national security.

        1. he stupidly talked about the U.S. having a strategic weapons system that is far ahead of what the Russians and Chinese have.

Gosh. I’m sure that came as a surprise to absolutely no one.

But he sure could have bragged about having documents to prove it. THAT would be the problem and the government isn’t taking any chances with such a big mouth idiot like trump.

Only if they double-dog dared him.

On another instance he literally gave away the security details of his big beautiful border wall before a border official promptly cut him off.

The part that was built, or the part left rusting in the desert by the Biden regime? Seriously, that’s a national security risk? Maybe our Border Czar has secretly discovered the root cause of our illegal immigration problem. And that’s what the FBI was after; design plans to finish the border wall. Awesome!

    3. “still in serious trouble if it turns out that highly classified nuclear weapons information was in his possession.

IF, one of the most overused words by leftists. If means you don’t have the information but want us to know what is in your dreams. Your IF keeps evaporating and that doesn’t make you look intelligent.

(there is no need for you to respond. You will look smarter if you don’t.)

      1. “ Your IF keeps evaporating and that doesn’t make you look intelligent.”

Nope. It’s being corroborated by the hour.

“ Investigators discovered classified documents in two areas: Trump’s personal office above a ballroom and in a storage room near the pool. Sources say there were “boxes everywhere,” with some containing Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI). Those are considered some of the highest level of classified documents.”

        https://thehill.com/homenews/3598071-fbi-agents-found-dozens-of-classified-documents-in-mar-a-lago-search-sources/amp/

Oops, looks like the FBI was being watched by Trump the whole time. No “planted evidence” apparently. Trump caught lying… again.

“ Former President Donald Trump and his lawyers have baselessly peddled a conspiracy theory that the FBI may have “planted” evidence during its raid on Mar-a-Lago because “nobody” was allowed to watch. But Trump’s lawyer admitted on Thursday that Trump and his family watched the “whole thing” go down from New York through CCTV footage from the resort.”

        https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-lawyer-blows-up-his-planted-evidence-claims-trump-watched-the-whole-thing-on-cctv/ar-AA10B496

        1. I commented on your use of the word IF. I guess you weren’t smart enough to catch the IF even though I capitalized the word for you. Instead, you start a new subject so you can make an a$$ of yourself.

Your quotes do not back up anything I quoted from your prior response. That makes you non-responsive to the question which also demonstrates a lack of intellectual ability.

I don’t want to expand the discussion with one as ignorant as you, but what you are providing is mostly opinion.

” Investigators discovered classified documents in two areas: “

This was not part of my discussion, but since you mentioned it and are too stupid to recognize that government agents from at least two agencies including the FBI had searched MAL before to remove such documents, where were they before? Were these the documents the FBI knew existed when they asked to put a more secure lock on the storage area? Maybe. I don’t pretend to know things that aren’t proven which is something stupid people like you do all the time. If the FBI didn’t remove them before, why not? Are they incompetent?

Are you even stupider than we think since it appears you believe that in the dark of night after Trump left the WH, he snuck back in and stole those documents by sticking them in his underwear and taking them back to MAL?

It sounds like you are dumb enough to believe such nonsense.

    4. “The “excessive” presence of the FBI would be necessary if classified nuclear weapons material was involved.”

It would also be necescary if Trump had a suitcase nuke. But he did not.
      This is nonsense.

NARA was there several times. FBI was there in May. They had full access to everything.

Anything that required a massive raid – they would have been free to take at the time.

I am increasingly sure this is over the Records Trump ordered declassified – and if that is the Case DOJ is in Deep shit.

As I have noted to you before there is only one way you have an espionage act violation – and that is Trump returned to the whitehouse after Biden was sworn in and took documents (or ordered someone else to do so).

Anything GSA brought to MAL – is on the government not Trump.
If as WaPo’s stupid leak claims there was something nuclear then how is it that it got to MAL ?

“If the White House did in fact notice such information missing they could have had an “informant” who may, and I emphasize may, have been an Department of energy agent sent there to confirm that indeed such documents were there. That’s just pure speculation on my part.”

Lets see we had days of you saying lets not speculate, and now you are speculating all over the place.
Right you have DOE plants worming their way into MAL – you are clueless.

One of the things that has been self evident for well over a decade is that those on the left do not understand the ideas and values of anyone else in the country. While those on the right, and even more so libertarians fully understand the positions of their ideological opponents.

I could create a new WP account and post on JT as a conservative, or a progressive, and I could do so without being found out.
But if you tried to post as a conservative or libertarian you would be found out in a few posts.

So why is it that you think some left wing nut from DOE could inflitrate MAL ?

The informant story is still another anonymous source thing from the worse than useless MSM.
There is some leak now claiming it was a Secret Service agent – really ?

Trumps attorney has said there was nothing at MAL that was not declassified to here knowledge and she and her staff had been through everything several times.

Trump has purportedly said that everything at MAL had been declassified by him as president.

“Now Turley still neglected to mention that Trump was capable of releasing HIS copy of the warrant and receipt any time.”
Actually no he is not – atleast one interview of a lawyer – I beleive Andrew McCarthy pointed out that Trump can move to make the warrant and receipt public, he can concurr with Garland, but releasing anything that is under seal without the courts permission is dangerous. He could be held in contempt. Ordinarily that risk would be low, But these bozo’s are dangerous/

“But he continued to refuse. Most likely so he could take advantage of the situation and cry victim.”
God you are an idiot. Trump’s attorney on Day one said they were likely to join in the JW petition to make everything public.
Trump himself within 24hrs said make everything public – BEFORE Garland did.

What Trump did not do was unilaterlaly make public something under court seal.

“Either way Trump is still in serious trouble”
Yes, he is dealing with power hungry idiots who make up the law from whole cloth – people like you at DOJ.
      That is incredibly dangerous.

“if it turns out that highly classified nuclear weapons information was in his possession. The question will be, why? Things like that aren’t just “misplaced”.”

That is correct – They are tracked. Every classified nuclear document has a special binder on it of a unique color and a special batch number on the outside and everywhere it goes it must be signed in and out. So the government has complete records of where it is at at all times. The ONLY scenario you have that has the slightest chance of getting Trump in actual trouble is that the last recorded location for the document was the oval office on J19, 2021. And even then you will have to contend with the Constitutional argument that if Trump left with it under his arm – it is declassified.

In your mythical nuclear scenario – which has a snowballs chance of being true, but humoring you, the most likely way such a document gets to MAL is if it was in Some Trump WH staffers desk on J19 and GSA inadvertently transfered it to MAL.
Or alternately it was actually at MAL on J19, and no one ever came to retrieve it.

MY point – which is obvious to people with noraml IQ’s but somehow opaque to you, is that there are very few ways for any STILL classified document to get at MAL – and the only one that is a problem for Trump is if he went to the WH – or somewhere else AFTER he was president and stole it.

It is highly unlikely that Trump even legitimately personally removed a nuclear document from the WH.
Classified material is normally transfered by FSO’s especially highly classified material.
Remember that part about Colored jackets and specail batch numbers and signing it in and out – that is not done by consumers of classified materials – like the President. It is done by those whose job is to manage, track, secure classified materials.

FSO stands for Fascility Security Officer – and my guess is the WH has a whole army of them.
When I have my TS/SCI clearance I was at a defense contractor with a staff of 55 and we had our own SCIF and FSO, There are thousands of people who work at the WH – there are likely dozens of FSO’s.

So in your impossible hypothetical there MUST be an FSO that lost track of this nuclear material.

Returning to reality – the most likely scenario is that this is Trump’s personal copy of the Material Trump declassified regarding XFH.

      https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2021-01-19/the-latest-biden-to-attend-mass-with-congressional-leaders?context=amp

And DOJ is going to try to claim that Trump did not declassified it, he just issued an Executive order to declassify it, and it is still classified unto the Biden admin completes that process – which they are never going to do.

  9. The public perception is, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” If there is not compelling and earth shattering findings, then the reputation of the DOJ and FBI will be permanently and irreparably marred. Then there would be cause for the citizens of this country to be concerned about who is next.

How many tax payer dollars have been spent so far investigating and trying the former President of the United States? A billion dollars? More? Who will be held accountable for the misuse of hard earned tax dollars?

I know that the rank and file officers and FBI agents are professionals with integrity. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil the barrel.

If they are going to break precedent then they should have dotted every I and crossed every T and chosen judges and officers with unimpeachable credibility and with absolutely conflicts of interest.

They have not handled this huge story very well.

Here is a suggestion. Perhaps the DOJ could concentrate more effort on convicting drug dealers, gang related gun crimes, rampant theft, human traffickers and the criminals running freely through our streets and across our southern border.

    1. Good one, E.M.! And – instead of adding 87,000 new IRS agents to the government payroll, let’s add more border patrol agents and provide them with the authority commensurate with their responsibility.

  10. Let’s Go, Merrick*!

*”Merrick is a gender-neutral name (appropriate) primarily of Welsh origin but has variations across English, German, Scottish and Gaelic languages. In English, the name means “fame,” “power,” and “rule”, giving baby a title that resembles a life of glitz and glamor.”

Oh, the irony. I’m hoping to add “infamy.”

    http://www.thebump.com › merrick-baby-name

  11. With all the classified information every President has seen, it seems a bit ridiculous to raid his home over documents he may or may not have in his possession. Unless they ever intend to bleachbit his brain, this does not seem to have been necessary.

Since the DOJ/FBI is in Trump’s future America First action plan, what a great way for them to gather intelligence on his strategy.

    1. The vast majority of what is listed on the receipt the FBI provided for what they took sounds ridiculous.
Photos of Trump with foreign leaders ?
The Roger Stone clemency petition ?

Much of it sounds highly questionable as to why the government would want it.

Purportedly there were 11 classified documents – which is a tiny fraction of what Clinton had. 4 classified TS – I beleive Clinton had over 300TS. and purportedly 1 TS/SCI Clinton had several TS Code Word only – which is even higher.

That is according to press leaks.

I have not heard this directly but some of the press has reported that these are all documents that Trump declassified as president.

Which likely means these are the Russia Collusion documents that Trump declassified.
If that is the case this flips the narative – Why was anything associated with the collusion delusion EVER classified TS or TS/SCI.
As the press keeps blurting – that is supposed to be the near highest level of classification of national security information.

It is starting to sound as if the entire purpose of this was to keep Trump from releasing the documents he ordered declassified.

Some of this is speculation – though it is likely we will find out soon enough.

  12. Trump could himself release of the warrant and property receipt. But he isn’t doing so, because he prefers to play victim.

      1. Obama has 33M documents at his chicago home.
Anyone who thinks he does not have far more stuff that this bozo’s think he should not have is nuts.
Anyone who thinks there is not massive amounts of classified information in that is nuts.

  13. Professor, professor, professor…..those segments on Fox News must be worth a lot! Trump could release the subpoenas and the warrant related to this controversy if he wants them made public but he didn’t. He snubbed the subpoena issued months ago. Refused to just return all of the boxes when asked for them. They asked he refused! He’s not a cooperative victim. Sadly I now never expect you to admit that he should be subject to the same laws the rest of us all. It’s really sad but there you are.

    1. Agree 100%. He said issue a 2nd subpoena. Really? And this happens to how many other accused when they defy the first subpoena?

      1. The FBI’s former Director, James Comey, informed the public: “Although there is evidence of potential violations regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case,” he said. And unless I’m mistaken, there has been no public announcement from the DOJ or the FBI that Comey’s stated position was not their position as well. Now we have AG Garland telling us that Faithful adherence to the rule of law is the bedrock principle of the Justice Department and of our democracy. Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor. Under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing,

A reasonable person would conclude that an even application of the law would apply to former President Trump in the exact same way it was applied to former SoS Clinton. Disparate treatment on the other hand would prove the claim this is purely a political attack on Trump and that Garland and his DOJ have released unreasonable prosecutors towards their political ends.

      2. You assume that any subpeona was defined.

NARA visited MAL I beleive twice – and had full access.
The FBI visited in June and had full access.

They were free to take whatever they wanted.

  14. If the FBI were constantly spying still, it seems plausible Trump duped them into embarrassment

  15. Let’s see the affidavit.

DOJ and the FBI are proved liars with no credibility. Nothing but corruption from both agencies.

The Federal Government is completely out of control. 87,000 more goons with 5 million founds of ammo will not save them.

The comments from the left are astounding. Their heads are filled with propaganda.

    Civil War appears inevitable.

      1. Patriotism has little to do with how I see things playing out. I love the country, the Constitution, and the people, not the government.

      2. This Patriot who served seven years in the Army thinks it’s a high probability with the National Socialist Democrat Party and it’s tyrannical power grab.

IRS hiring 87,000 goons who will be armed and expected to use lethal force. That knife cuts both ways. It’s the Socialist Democrats who are taking use to Civil War!

We will not go silently into the night. The history of the Twentieth Century is Genocide by Marxists.

The 2nd Amendment is the remedy for Government Tyranny!

        1. The IRS is hiring additional people to go after tax cheats making over $400K/year.

If you think going after wealthy tax cheats is “government tyranny,” your views need some tweaking.

          1. And why, pray tell, would the IRS need 87,000 more agents, ARMED AND PROMISING THE POTENTIAL USE OF DEADLY FORCE, to collect delinquent taxes from those making over $400K/year?

          2. The ignorance of this anonymous is astounding.

Anonymous, tell us how the AMT would only affect a few of the richest Americans. It now affects many Americans. If you can’t answer that, you do not have the ability or understanding to make the dumb comment above.

  16. It’s also time for Garland and his handlers to reveal who this ‘confidential informant’ was, if there was one at all.

  17. If the raid on Mar-a-lago “appears” to be an impropriety, it “IS” an impropriety. Being blind and deaf to public fallout is no excuse. Garland should have known better.

  18. Turkey says that the agents raided with a massive show of force.
Yeah. Turkey went in dumb and come out dumb too.
Mar A Lago is a huge collection of buildings with many rooms. Had the agents showed up with two people they would be searching for a year to cover all the rooms.

    1. I wish you and others would show some respect regarding Prof. Turley’s and others’ names.. You many or may not agree with someone but at least you can show some respect when addressing them. That is part of the problem in society today, the lack of civility. The old saw goes “If you don’t have a good argument go personal..”

      1. Totally agree about the name calling in here. Name calling does nothing to confirm or support your case. It is emotional bullying and implies questionable intellect. Do yourself a favor and refrain from it if you want to be taken seriously. I had seventh and eighth grade students who pulled this, but they were learning their way in life. One would hope that an adult had enough common sense to know better.

      2. Spell-checks often change Turley to Turkey. It’s not a lack of civility, only a lack of proof-reading.

        1. Could be spell check or lack or proof reading, that would be lazy. Still no way to start your argument or point.

    2. This was horribly mishandled. The US Mag clearly could have & should have referred the Application to a Dist Ct judge. Preferably a Sr status one. Make the FBI and DOJ answer questions, raise their hands and swear under penalty of perjury. Instead a Mag who previously expressed anti Trump opinions & is up for reappointment under the next president kept the case

Wish the DOJ & FBI put this much effort into nailing Epstein & Co back in 2008

    3. This is the FBI FFS! It’s an “intelligence agency”. They’d know every inch of that residence and what’s in there. If they didn’t then shut them down, now!

    4. The Professor’s surname is spelled “Turley”, not “turkey”. I hope this misspelling was unintended, merely an error caused by spell check.

  19. One more question: Did the warrant specify going through Melania’s wardrobe? Did Garland really think Trump would have hidden classified documents in her garments, or was he just satisfying some personal prurient interest?

    1. You should always sew the nuclear codes into your wife’s underwear in case she gets into an accident.

    2. Did you see some of the FBI and CIA agents that raided peacefully protested at his estate? Aside from the showing of impressive AR-15 assault weapons plain clothes uniformed personnel, one was a woman womyn (NB: I am not a biologist) who was in dire need of a wardrobe makeover, hence Melania’s closet for the closeted dyke. She was in desperate need of Chanel.

      😜

    3. The search of the wardrobe yielded:

A roll of microfilm hidden in the heel of one of her pumps. It said: “So the DOJ and FBI really are led by lawless morons”.

It was immediately classified as Top Secret even though the whole world is on on that secret now.
