“An Interesting Name”: Biden Associates Testify on the Influence Peddling of the President and his Family

Below is my column in the New York Post on the testimony of Biden associate Rob Walker, who confirmed details on President Joe Biden meeting with Chinese figures as well as the use of the Biden name to generate millions in foreign payments. Yesterday, the House heard from Tony Bobulinski who confirmed that Biden was the “Big Guy” who was referenced as receiving ten percent from a Chinese deal. He also confirmed that, despite the President’s denials, he met with Joe Biden to discuss these dealings.

Here is the column:

“An interesting name.”

Those three words by Biden family associate Rob Walker could well be the epitaph for Hunter Biden and his uncle James Biden.

Walker was explaining why Hunter was repeatedly pushed forward as the face of their pitches to the Chinese and other countries.

In his interview with House investigators, Walker struggled to protect President Biden while confirming critical aspects of earlier testimony from associates such as Devon Archer that they were selling the “Biden brand.”

That brand included Uncle James Biden, whom Walker described as “a snake.”

Walker and his associates had a letter to the Chinese come from Hunter because that is what he thought the Chinese expected.

He admitted that the Chinese were led to believe that they all worked for Hunter Biden.

After all, he “had an interesting last name that would probably get people in the door.”

That “interesting name” is how a Beltway bandit avoids saying “influence peddler.”

You are peddling the name — an effort that is reinforced when you repeatedly produce Joe Biden on speakerphone or he drops by lunches.

It’s also the same name dropped when Hunter wanted to make sure the Chinese paid up, as revealed in the infamous WhatsApp message:

“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

Yet whenever questions turned to the most incriminating messages, Walker shrugged.

When asked about a reference to “the big guy” receiving 10% of a deal (an apparent reference to Joe Biden), Walker declined to say who the big guy was.

When he was asked about Hunter’s repeated references to his father and calling his father “my chairman,” Walker insisted that “I don’t think that Hunter was healthy at the time.”

Likewise, when Hunter says his father “vetoed the deal” on a proposed SinoHawk deal structure, Walker again said Hunter was not well.

So Hunter was a legitimate businessman “with an interesting name” all the way up to the point that he made admissions on alleged influence peddling. He was then interesting but unhealthy.

Walker repeatedly emphasized that Joe Biden was not a direct part of these deals.

While that is a political defense, it is not a legal one.

As I have previously written, federal courts have long treated payments to family members as evidence of bribery and corruption.

Indeed, I was lead counsel in the last judicial impeachment trial in the Senate, when Democratic senators voted to convict a judge on payments and gifts going to the children of the judge.

Neither Hunter nor James Biden have demonstrated any particular skill beyond an absence of inhibition and an abundance of appetite.

What they have is “an interesting name,” and in Washington, that is enough.

  1. Another liberal Democrat professor makes you wonder if whatever makes you liberal, also makes you nuts. I am leaving the guy’s name out, because why pile on him. I mean the guy already sounds shattered.

“In a shocking development, an acclaimed Penn State professor, [xxxxxx], who was previously charged with animal cruelty after being caught engaging in bestiality with his pet dog, is now facing additional charges following the revelation of further disturbing acts captured on videos, New York Post reported.

The case has now escalated with the emergence of new footage that allegedly shows [xxxxxx] inserting a tree branch and a lollipop into his anus in a public park.

According to reports from Fox 43, authorities discovered 55 videos on [xxxxxx]’s electronic devices that depicted acts of indecency. These devices were seized under a search warrant tied to the initial charges.

The affidavit obtained by Onward State details various lewd behaviors exhibited by [xxxxxx], including public masturbation on a picnic table and in a lake at the park, as well as climbing a tree while naked and engaging in obscene acts with objects like a Tootsie Pop and a control handle of a DCNR John Deere crawler.

The news outlet added that [xxxxxx] also deposited fecal matter on leased campgrounds and in a service area adjacent to DCNR machinery, as well as applied bodily fluids to a glass table at a leased campsite.

Wasn’t this the school that thought Lia Thomas was a girl??? Also, DCNR= Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources.

    1. I did a search for the perp, and was mightily disappointed that it didn’t turn out to be Michael Mann…

  2. Jonathan: Now to Tony Bobulinski’s interview yesterday with Jim Comer’s Committee. Comer and the MAGA Republicans call TB the “killer witness” who would show how Joe Biden generated millions for his family members and even pocketed some of it. You even falsely state the TB’s testimony “confirmed that Biden was the ‘Big Guy’ who was referenced as receiving ten percent for a Chinese deal”. The facts refute your claim.

In 2017 TB was briefly a business associate of Hunter and his other business partners working on a proposed joint venture with a Chinese energy company. In an email to the other partners TB proposed a 10% cut for “the big guy”. Rob Walker, who also testified before Comer’s Committee and was part of Hunter’s team negotiating the Chinese deal, said the other partners treated TB’s proposal as “wishful thinking” and “ridiculous” and they didn’t even bother to reply. It appears TB was eventually cut out of deal. Walker and all the others that testified before Comer’s Committee said the same thing. Joe Biden was never involved in the Chinese negotiations and never was paid as part of them.

What is interesting is that in 2022 TB told the conservative National Review that Hunter and his brother cheated him out of millions of dollars he could have made from the Chines deal. If TB thought he had been defrauded you would think he would have brought a lawsuit by now. Could it be that TB is mad he was cut out of the proposed deal and now wants revenge?

      1. Thank both you Dennis, and you Gigi, for once again proving that you are deceptive shills, and that the Truth is to you, like a garlic-dipped silver crucifix is to a vampire! Yes, TB did have 10% in his email. BUT HERE, is the complete chin of events, for all the non-shills in the audience:
        ——
“The committee’s account is as follows: The first check to Joe was written on Sept. 3, 2017, although the money trail begins earlier with his son Hunter. In the first half of 2017, Hunter and business associates negotiated a joint company with CEFC, a Shanghai-based energy company linked to the Chinese government. One email from a Hunter associate that discussed equity stakes suggested 10% of the joint venture be held by Hunter for ‘the big guy.’

“CEFC was asked to commit $10 million in capital. When the money didn’t come, a frustrated Hunter sent a July 30, 2017, WhatsApp message to Raymond Zhao, a CEFC associate. It said he was sitting with his dad, demanded payment and warned: ‘I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction.’

“A week later, a Chinese company affiliated with CEFC sent $5 million to a joint venture between Hunter and a CEFC associate. The same day, that joint venture sent $400,000 to an entity controlled by Hunter. Less than a week later, Hunter wired $150,000 from his entity to a company owned by James and Sara Biden. On Aug. 28, 2017, Sara withdrew $50,000 from said company. The same day, she deposited it into a personal bank account that belonged to her and her husband. Prior to this deposit, the balance on that personal account was $46.88. On Sept. 3, she cut a $40,000 check from that account to Joe Biden. Graduates of elementary-school math will note that $40,000 is 10% of $400,000.

        Thank you two, once again!

          1. I am 65% thru my book, and it is so intense and disturbingly real, that I have to take frequent breaks. I hope they make a movie out of it, or even a series.

        1. I don’t see Dennis, Bob, or Gigi refuting any of this.

They all fled, silently. Suddenly became blind or illiterate ?

They didn’t even try their tried and untrue line “there is no evidence”.

That’s very strange. I guess I believe you, since they can’t refute it, and one expects them to, being so educated and so sane and so not part of the “cult”. Maybe the spaceship landed again and abducted them for their latest “visitation upgrades”.

          1. Sadly, they will get rebooted, and we will hear them say the same thing again, in some future comment. And not just them, but most of the Main Stream Media. They know they are lying, but hey, a paycheck is a paycheck! Just ask Rachel Maddow!

      2. Gigi: Back at you! As someone who has been at this for some time you have noticed I don’t get into personal shouting matches with the retards on this blog. It’s not productive. It only encourages them to engage in more personal insults. I try to stick to the facts and the issues. Just a bit of advice.

        1. I understand completely! I do not participate in MMA matches, not because I am above fisticuffs, but because I will get my a$$ handed to me, and quickly.

    1. How does the fact that the specific deal that TB was involved in that did not go through, Change TB’s testimony regarding the culture of corruption of the Biden family as well as the involvement of Joe Biden ?

Walker provided some very damaging testimony. You and the left seem to fixate on the fact that Republicans could not get Walker to draw a few obvious conclusions regarding his own testimoney. Those do not matter all that much.

It is unlikely that Comer and Republicans will come up with the Video of Joe as VP receiving stacks of cash or gold bars that those of you on the left are demanding as proof.

But ordinary people are already persuaded.

I would further note that though the Biden corruption investigation will continue – and has PROVEN Joe Biden’s personal presence and involvement in many deals – including ones while ha was VP. and has proven that Joe Biden has been lying to all of us for years about this.

That the SC Hur report has made the corruption investigation a sideshow.

While SC Hur did not say the words, the FACT is that Joe Biden today is too incompetent to be corrupt. Few beleive that Joe Biden is running the country. Hunters ability to leverage the “Biden Brand” is dependant on his influence on Joe Biden, and that influence depends on Joe Biden being competent and being in control.

The Children running the WH are in control – Not Joe, and Hunter has minimal influence with them, and they are not deeply correct – atleast not yet, though they are only marginally more competent than Biden.

Comer and Republicans will likely continue the Biden investigations – they are not meaningless.
They remain part of the slow drip drip drip that is rusting the foundations of the democratic party.

As to your nonsense that nothing has been proven – correct, Comer and Republicans have not succeeded in the impossible,
proving to those who refuse to hear, or see the Biden family corruption.

Turley has repeatedly noted that the investigation has already met the far lower actual standard of proof – that family members benefited.

Accross the board, both from witnesses and emails and other documents – we have found that Joe – to the extent he was competent was an active participant in all of this.

Increasingly the problem for Republicans is that SC Hur is stating that Joe was not mentally competent to stand trial in 2017. Which begs the question of how competent was Joe in 2015 ?

Joe may or may not be impeached.
He will not be convicted in the Senate – though the hearings would likely prove useful.

He will either pardon himself and his family on the way out the door, or Trump will on the way in.

You are correct that Comer’s hearings are increasingly having diminishing returns. This is NOT because the evidence is weak,
But because the overwhelmining majority of people have already been persuaded and the few left – like you would not be convinved by video of Joe taking a bribe.

Most of the hearings in the house are political – The DOJ is not going to prosecute – no matter what is found.
The Senate is not going to convict and remove.
And they have already succeeded in persuading those who are capable of assessing facts.

      1. John: Before you draw your own conclusions about TB’s testimony why don’t we wait to see the entirety of his interview. That should answer the Q whether TB could prove what you call the “culture of corruption” by the Biden family. I predict it won’t. But apparently you don’t need to read the transcript because “ordinary people [like you] are already persuaded”. See the problem with “ordinary people” is that they seem to always get the cart before the cart!

    2. dennis and gigi have a clear knack for copy-catting other commenters’ words, writing styles, and catchy phrases, even punctuation! (like a colon after a person’s name). we’ve noticed they didn’t do this last year, or even several months ago. Pretty soon it will be easy to convert their views to MAGA because they apparently are so IMPressionable!

  3. Chinese Company Was A Vast Pyramid Scheme.

    Founder Prosecuted By Chinese

He struck billions of dollars’ worth of deals in Russia, Eastern Europe and Africa. He sought business with war-torn places like Chad and with international pariahs like North Korea.

Ye Jianming, a fast-rising Chinese oil tycoon, ventured to places only the most politically connected Chinese companies dared to go. But what he wanted was access to the corridors of power in Washington — and he set out to get it.

Many who met Mr. Ye believed he was the grandson of a famous Chinese military leader. Many believed he had access to untold wealth; now, it appears his empire was built on a mountain of debt. Many believed his company must have deep connections and business savvy to be so successful; the Chinese state news media have accused him of bribery.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/12/business/cefc-biden-china-washington-ye-jianming.html
    ………………………………….

This story, from 2018, reveals that Hunter Biden is just a footnote in what was a worldclass pyramid scheme that finally collapsed that year. Yet Professor Turley mentions none of this. Instead he merely refers to ‘the Chinese’ and leaves it at that.

As for Ye Jianming, he has ‘disappeared’ into the Chinese penal system.

  4. Still would like to know what was actually received for Brandon pocketing foreign funds.

  5. In Other News: “President Biden Drops To His Knee and Proposes to Deceased Wife of Former Indonesian Dictator.”
    ~+~
White House staff were perplexed and worrried when President Biden having finished a speech gave a confused look on his face, smiled, then dropped to his knee and lovingly proposed marriage to Tien Soeharto, the former wife of the second president/dictator Soeharto. She is locally referred to by the epithet ‘Madame Ten Percent’ for her lavish acceptance of tribute and graft from public works and government contracts.

“He seemed to be staring into space when he kneeled down,” a staff member recalled, “At first I thought he was praying to God, but then he started proposing to some woman that wasn’t there.”

Apparently the deceased Ms. Soeharto accepted his proposal much to the glee of an increasingly giddy Biden. He announced his engagement, declaring: “We will be equal partners in marriage. With Her 10% and My 10% we’ll show the world there is truly no higher love than that of greed and power.”

  6. Jonathan: I’ll get to your column about Tony Bobulinski and his deposition before Comer’s Committee. But first I’d like to address two other important developments yesterday.

First, in the special election yesterday in NY to replace disgraced George Santos the Dem. candidate Tom Suozzi defeated the GOP candidate Magi Pilip. That puts the Dems closer to retaking the House. Special elections usually have a low voter turnout. Despite a big snowstorm the Dems voted in droves because they often vote by mail. Kind of ironic because the GOP has tried its best to restrict voting by mail. What goes around eventually comes around!

Second, the House yesterday narrowly voted 214-213 to impeach Secy Mayorkas. Three GOP members voted against impeachment. That’s because some GOP members see the vote as lowering threshold for impeachment. GOP member Mike Gallagher expressed that concern: “Creating a new, lower standard for impeachment, one without any clear limiting principle wouldn’t secure the border or hold Mr. Biden accountable. It would only pry open the Pandora’s box of perpetual impeachment”.

Gallagher sees the danger. Suppose DJT wins in November and then implements policies over the border that the Dems don’t like if they take back control of the House. The Dems could conduct all sorts of “snap” impeachments of DJT or one of his Cabinet members–something you decried when the Dems impeached DJT. The MAGA crowd in the House has set a new lower standard for impeachment. That could come back to haunt them!

  7. I am not especially interested in the Biden family corruption any more.

The case has been proven to me long ago. Republicans are just piling on at this point.

But there are still SOME out there that remain blind – and for them – more and more evidence is needed.

    1. John Say,
      Well said.
But even with the current body of evidence they still deny and declare it is not evidence.

  8. Here is how bad off we are right now, as a nation. I am reading a fiction book, The Attack, by Kurt Schlicter. In a nutshell, and this is not spoilers – many thousands of radical Muslim terrorists slip into the country among the millions of illegal aliens. Weapons are also sent in. They attack the country over a period of days, and after the first day, in an attack mimicking the October 7th attack on Israel, they kill thousands and thousands of Americans. The unnamed President is slightly injured, and the unnamed female Vice President takes over. There is still uncertainty as to how this happened, how the terrorists got here. The morning of the second day, she gives this speech to the nation. This is fiction, but as I read the speech, I could not help but believe that this is almost exactly what we hear, when and if, (probably when) this happened:

“The following is the verbatim transcript of the Vice President’s speech at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on August 28th.

My fellow Americans, I speak to you this morning from the White House on behalf of our President, who is recovering well from his minor injuries. He will be back at work soon after leading the response to yesterday’s tragedy that occurred.

I want to confirm to you that the situation yesterday, where many people were tragically hurt or killed, is fully resolved. The danger has passed, but now begins the process of processing our shared grief in order to allow the light that is in us all to shine again once more undimmed. There are many rumors and much misinformation about yesterday’s events, and we should look only to the trustworthy and approved information sources of our recognized and official free press for information, and avoid sources of misinformation that spread misinformation and hate.

I urge you to embrace the love within us, not the anger, to seize the opportunity to become our best selves in the wake of this terrible tragedy, and to search within ourselves for solutions. I know that many Americans are feeling many feelings today – sadness, hope, even joy in our shared experience as Americans experiencing a situation. To those of you who have lost loved ones, we are sorry for your losses, and we grieve with you. But what is lost can be found again in the kingdom of our hearts. We must embrace, laugh, smile, and dance.

This will show the people who caused us such grief that our unbroken spirit remains unbroken and that they cannot break it. It is important to not forget that those who have suffered so much include indigenous peoples, black and brown Americans, those who reject the gender binary and those who embrace the beautiful rainbow of identities that arches above our country. This is not a time for hate, but for love, as we begin this journey for justice together.

I wish to especially shout out loudly and clearly to our Muslim citizens and others, including undocumented migrants, and to assure them that the number one priority of my administration…of this administration, shall be to fight the scourge of anti-Muslim hate. Nothing could be worse than compounding this tragedy with that tragic kind of tragedy. Understand that there will be accountability for these events, and that the people responsible will be held to their responsibility for the crimes they are responsible for. But we must not seek mindless vengeance or lash out in anger.

As I once watched the Reverand Martin Luther King, Jr., tell a crowd, “Justice is not just for us.” We must redouble our efforts for justice of all kinds – racial, environmental, nutritional – and today I want to redouble our efforts to ban the kind of weapons of war that have caused so much tragic tragedy to our children and to the men, women, and gender-nonconforming
individuals of our country. Thanks to the efforts of the federal government under our President, and myself, we have ended the situation. The temporary national stay at home order means just fifteen days to stop the spread of this situation. We can soon return to our lives and living them loudly and unashamedly.

As Americans we share so much in common, such as America itself, which helps define and expand what it means to be American. And that experience of being American, which is something we all share, is the essence of America. ”

We’re kind of stunned, and then Sergeant Major, who was as NCO as an NCO can be, busts out, “What the unholy hell was that bullsh!t?”

Schlichter, Kurt. The Attack (p. 153 -156). Kindle Edition.

  9. I would love to hear the logic that elucidates how caring about our country and the malfeasance on the part of certain participants in our system is ‘right wing’ or ‘MAGA’. That is a talking point that just needs to die, I am pretty tired of my caring and thinking their mentality is boosheet being labelled as a soft form of terrorism by the dem party. That said; good grief. what is it going to take? I can hope at the least that if there are no official repercussions for this anachronistic, aristocratic mob family occupying the WH, then at the least, we can do better going forward, though I personally think the entire DNC is similarly polluted, and so are the upper echelons of the RNC, and we are going to have to choose very carefully (most won’t).

There are times I think the dems/globalists are giving their last, desperate, gasp, and there are other times I think modern humans are stupid enough to go along with it so long as their personal comfort isn’t compromised. The coming election really is do or die. If Trump is the candidate, you’d better vote for him if you want to avoid a dystopian future previously reserved for science fiction novels.

I also think that if Obama and his people are pulling the strings, that he was willing to do this at all pretty much makes him a psychopath or a megalomaniac. I would love for us to resolve this without bullets flying, but at the same time, I am so grateful for our second amendment, we are the only country on earth with 1 and 2, and we have to preserve them with everything we’ve got, because these people honestly do not give a sh** about you or your life. People in other Western countries have zero recourse, and it’s sad to me that our inherent checks and balances are only guaranteed by the pull of a trigger. We have so, so lost our way.

  10. OFF TOPIC BUT INTERESTING: M Schellenberger, who has the 10” Binder the CIA, FBI and HS want regarding spying on Trump, must be a very dirty binder?

    1. Margot,
From what I am understanding thus far, the CIA worked with other countries intelligence agencies to target 26 Trump associates.

      1. “After Public and Racket had been told that President Barack Obama’s CIA Director, John Brennan, had identified 26 Trump associates for the Five Eyes to target, a source confirmed that the [intelligence community] had ‘identified [them] as people to “bump,” or make contact with or manipulate. They were targets of our own IC and law enforcement — targets for collection and misinformation,’” the Substacks reported. “Unknown details about the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign and raw intelligence related to the IC’s surveillance of the Trump campaign are in a 10-inch binder that Trump ordered to be declassified at the very end of his term, sources told Public and Racket.”
        That’s from Schellenberger and Taibbi
        https://thefederalist.com/2024/02/13/report-cia-started-russia-collusion-hoax-by-asking-foreign-governments-to-spy-on-trump-campaign/

        1. “. . . CIA Director, John Brennan, had identified 26 Trump associates for the Five Eyes to target . . .”

So America has become a spyocracy.

          Charming.

          1. “So America has become a spyocracy.”
I’m afraid that began long before TDS was a thing, but it is getting far worse.

    1. Ah, reports have it, unconfirmed right now, the Russians want to put a nuclear weapon in space, that would take out satellites.
Honestly, I am surprised we, they, China have not already done so.
News on the Hill, is this is NOT an Today threat, but something to be concerned in the future. What does that timeline look like????

      1. “reports have it, unconfirmed right now, the Russians want to put a nuclear weapon in space”

Assuming that is so, we need to keep open minds about whether this could be a neocon/Deep State ploy to excuse increasing Ukraine subsidies, or even attacking Russia directly, and to keep Biden in office. This could be a real existential threat, it could be “Gulf of Tonkin incident” on steroids, or something between those extremes.

      2. “. . . the Russians want to put a nuclear weapon in space . . .”

That has been known for a long time.

Note the *timing* of that fear-mongering, “national security threat” announcement: A bill in congress for more Ukraine aid.

In other words, cough up more of your money — or Russians!

  12. Emoluments… some politicians, community organizers, get rich from peddling politics, ethnic Springs, immigration reform, environmental arbitrage, etc., with benefits.

  13. …and Abraham Lincoln said, “ENOUGH!”

I will seize and take all power into my own hands.

    1. “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

      – Declaration of Independence, 1776

  14. I question of the current path that America is facing today and the negatives derived from the Democrats agenda(s). Their effort to divide us into separate identities (what is their motivation) has placed a veil of darkness across America. They preach harmony, but back-hand anyone not enamored with their agenda(s). I only bring this up to extend the question to the Kleptocracy on display in the swamp of Washington. Where does America go from here, are we not headed to a European Socialist form of Governance where self-centered Plutocrats rule and are not held accountable for misdeeds. America is at a crossroads, if we continue to veer to the port side, I fear for this great county’s future.

    God help us All!

    1. I have less concerns about the future than you. The only question is how much pain we must go through before things get better.

“You can not fool all of the people all of the time”

Or the short version – things that can not go on forever – DONT.
The left will not prevail, because they have no clue how to make the world actually work. 3

We are seeing that – way to slowly in my view, regardless, the lies about everything are catching up to the left SLOWLY.

While the bad actions of govenrment take longer to fail sufficiently that we are forced to correct them immediately – they do catch up eventually.

Markets work, and even govenrment ultimately si a product that we chose in the marketplace.
If one form of govenrment or another, if one political party or another does not on net make things better – eventually they will be cast out.

The ideas of the left do not work. Worst case they are discarded as people grasp that they fail.

Europe has been moving away from socialism for a long time. European leaders understand well that the socialist programs of prior generations are an albatross arround europes neck that slows growth down to a crawl. In the US we saw the same under Obama.

More than a decade ago economists roggoff and rheinhart found that debt between 80 and 120% of GDP increasingly weighed down the economy.

The US is economically in a unique position in the world, There are no other large free economies. We are th worlds reserve currency.
Even when things in the US go badly – the US is still one of the best investments in the world.

US monetary policy completely drives the world – even Europe can not bet against the Federal Reserve and survive. So for good or evil the US sets global monetary policy.
When the Fed raises interest rates EVERYBODY raises interest rates.
Inflation in the US means inflation accross the globe
When the US is hit with the consequences o poor choices – the rest of the world gets hit with the conseuences of OUR choices AND their choices.

The Fed as an example is having difficulty controlling inflation – even the hint of the Fed lowering rates resulted in inflation rising again.

I would love to be wrong, but we are not bringing inflation undercontrol without a recession. Economic forecasts right now are mixed – good news here, bad news there.
Personally we are going to have a recession and it is likely to be very soon. The election is not the only factor, but historically elections drive the economy down.
?Markets hate uncertainty. The market nearly always rises after the election – even bad news is better than uncertainty.
Regardless, if not now, soon enough we have a recession.

One of the problems the FED is having is that Money is flowing into the US economy by the truckload from the rest of the world,

People left and right talk about the trade deficit – what do they thing happens when Americans give the rest of the world lots of green slips of paper called money ?
Evengtually someone uses them to purchase SOMETHING in the US. They buy US products, they buy US equities, they buy US debt,

No matter what all that money eventually returns to the US.

So we have gargantuan amouns of money flowing into the US that are offsetting FED policy decisions – worse still the better the decisions the FED makes the more money flows in offsetting the positive effects of those choices.

The above is just a part of the massive global economic advantage the US has.

The left likes to fawn over European socialism – but the FACT is that european socialism hs been a dead weight slowing European economies for 70 years

The US working class has a higher standard of living than the european middle class – even in comparison to Germany and france.

Europe has been steadily lagging behind the US in the rise in standard of living – despite the fact that the US have taken in about 45M immigrants (prior to biden) nearly all at the bottom economically. despite the fact that the US is paying for the military defense of the entire western world.
despite all of this the US has had a rise in standard of living just under 1% higher than Europe for most of my lifetime.

The good news is this creates a massive economic advantage for the US.
The bad news is that despite that advantage – chickens eventually must come home to roost.

The US MUST address debt problem – we likely can go further out the debt limb that the rest of the world before the damage is catastrophic,
But we can not go forever. Japan has debt of 200% of GDP, as a result it has had ZERO growth for decades.
      That is we are headed.

The world is changing. The left is increasingly out of favor in europe. Though Europe is seeing more national an racial populism than the economic populism of the US
Put differently – Europe is risking returning to fascism. Contra the left their is no evidence that the politcal sea change that is moving slowly through the US is headed towards fascism. In the US it is the left that is fascist, not the right.

      .

      1. John Say,
I recall some CNN pundit saying something to the effect of how to slay inflation is a recession!
Great. Inflation slayed, but I am out of a job.
I have been noting the number of layoffs in various industries as of late. CBS just laid off some 800 people. Amazon, Apple too.
I agree with you about the debt, but it seems baked into the cake for more and more raising of the debt ceiling. It would take some real, serious austerity, pain, to fix it. People tend to get cranky when the entitlements cease.
I am of the opinion that de-dollarization and the rise of the BRICS+ and a multi-polar world is going to cause the US/West real pain. I get the sense the US/West is desperately trying to hold on to their US/West uni-polar world but it is not working out. We need to get used to the idea, adjust accordingly then try to fight for something already gone.

        1. Inflation is one of the most dangerous conditions an entity will encounter, and that includes government. From January 2021, the dollar has lost approximately $0.23 buying power. The Fed will tell you that inflation last month was .031% and you may think well that’s better than the .08% of 2022 and it is, but when inflation is compounded as it is over the course of years, it becomes costly. This administration has taken inflation to new heights and hasn’t been able to corral its growth.

  15. Someone here sarcastically said that we should wait for the balancing view from the resident DNC shills here. I submit that is not necessary, because it is pretty obvious they will say what they always say. This is because the people they work for use the same techniques as Good Old Joseph Goebbels. FWIW, so does the other side. And so do most advertisers. They all use the same techniques that Goebbels adapted from Bernays. They all use the same techniques, because they work on most people, at least for a while. Luckily, those techniques are online!

“After the war, US personnel discovered a very large diary dictated by Goebbels. In it are his principles of propaganda. Leonard Doob’s 1950 article details them from a translation of the diary by Louis Lochner (1948).

    Hitler’s Basic Principles
These principles are abstracted from Jowett & O’Donnell.

Avoid abstract ideas – appeal to the emotions.
Constantly repeat just a few ideas. Use stereotyped phrases.
Give only one side of the argument.
    Continuously criticize your opponents.
Pick out one special “enemy” for special vilification.”

There is a more detailed breakdown at this link:

    https://www.physics.smu.edu/pseudo/Propaganda/goebbels.html

    ————————–

I think that you can see this when analyze the DNC shill Bob’s comments pretty clearly. From this example:

“You’re right, having a prez that has 20 failed business, has to pay $90 million for his sexual abuse of a woman, confuses an ex wife for the woman he raped, doesn’t know the difference between a rival running for Prez and the speaker of the house, buried his ex wife on his golf course, loves to “grab em by the pussy”, having a prez encourage Russia to invade a NATO member makes way more sense.

How many millions of dollars did the trump family make while trump was in office?”

Notice how smears/vilifications/half truths morph into statements of fact for he/she/it. Little or no intelligence evident, just perpetual smear.

Gigi is another good one, and she is very disciplined with her comments – short repetitive and devoid of argumentation, or discussion of abstract ideas. This has been pretty obvious to me after only a few days. They all seem to copy and paste the same points over and over, no matter what the topic of conversation. Which is why I think they are paid shills. I wish one of them would get disgusted by what they do, and spill the beans on whatever project they are working for. With luck, James O’Keefe may get into this one day, and flip one of them.

I also wonder how will AI affect them, if it hasn’t already? Those various shills might just be one shill director, with AI bots, or sock puppets. But if not, I mean, why pay these guys if you can get the same thing for free? It is not like anybody listens to them, once they catch on. Even the Germans started tuning out Goebbels after a while. But as I read, the real point of propaganda is not necessarily to deceive. So maybe the shill’s real audience is not thinking people, but not-so-good thinkers, who need words to make their feelings concrete? I don’t know for sure. This, from something I read,

“The purpose of Nazi propaganda was not to brainwash ordinary Germans, and it was not intended to deceive the masses even though it did enable the movement to gain new recruits. The principal objective, according to historian Neil Gregor, was “to absorb the individual into a mass of like-minded people, and the purpose of the ‘suggestion’ was not to deceive but to articulate that which the crowd already believed.”12”

That was from a Slate article, which I find ironic.

    1. Floyd,
      Very interesting analysis.
While watering the livestock the other morning, I pondered on the various denizens of the good professor’s blog.
I have had actual conversations with people, Lin, S. Meyer, HonestLawyer, OldManFromKS and many more. Thing is when reading their comments or responses to mine, I get a sense of voice and character. Like we are sitting in a cafe, talking over a cup of coffee.
The others, it is more like trying to explain economics to a 14 year old who thinks they know everything when they know nothing. Equally their comments are generally emotion driven and always resort to “whataboutism.”
Of course if they are in fact paid trolls, it only make sense to push DNC talking points, cut, copy and paste.

      1. If they were unpaid, and undirected, then I don’t think you would see the uniformity of approach, and the repetitiveness of the same things from shill to shill, day after day. True, I have seen them post whatever today’s latest “Trump Done Went and Said This Horrible thing!” – but then they will default back to the previously oft repeated smears, all while ignoring any response to their comment that explains what Trump said or did. While it’s possible they are simply deranged attention-seekers, I do not think this site would attract so many of them, and that they would all sort of sound like they are singing out of the same hymnbook.

I am back to reading The Attack, by Kurt Schlicter, and I am going to post an excerpt from it in a few minutes. Luckily, I bought the Kindle edition, so I can download and copy and paste.

    2. Half truths? What is a half truth?

“You’re right, having a prez that has 20 failed business, has to pay $90 million for his sexual abuse of a woman, confuses an ex wife for the woman he raped, doesn’t know the difference between a rival running for Prez and the speaker of the house, buried his ex wife on his golf course, loves to “grab em by the pussy”, having a prez encourage Russia to invade a NATO member

Which one is a half truth?

      1. “Half truths? What is a half truth?”

Bob, let us take just the first one of your statements that lights up your stupidity.

“You’re right, having a prez that has 20 failed business”

If you knew anything, you would question the number 20, not because 20 failures are bad, but because it would be fantastic for any businessman with the number of businesses Trump has or had. Half of all companies fail within the first five years, and 70% fail within ten years. Trump has had over 500 businesses.

You have the intellect of a Toad.

        1. So I haven’t said any half truths. You just don’t like reading about them while eating your trump steak on a trump airline while studying a course at trump U, and your going to gamble your money at a trump casino while staying in one of the trump hotels.

Did you take his course on how to grab em by the pussy?

Or perhaps his course on how to steal an election all the while screaming that the other guy is stealing the election?

          I get it.

          1. “So I haven’t said any half truths. ”

You still need to answer my response that demonstrates you have the intellect of a Toad. You cannot erase your stupidity by changing the subject. Let us get back to the first statement before you provide more stupidity in your rants.

Here is your statement, followed by my response.

“You’re right, having a prez that has 20 failed business”
            ===

If you knew anything, you would question the number 20, not because 20 failures are bad, but because it would be fantastic for any businessman with the number of businesses Trump has or had. 2. “You just don’t like reading about them while eating your trump steak on a trump airline while studying a course at trump U, and your going to gamble your money at a trump casino while staying in one of the trump hotels.
Did you take his course on how to grab em by the pussy?”

Sounds like the dream of every American boomer ever. It’s what all of you do. You should be thanking Trump from the bottom of your heart.

    3. Floyd, when Upstate, you, or other intelligent people respond, I don’t think it is to make the Goebbels Idiocracy more intelligent (a near impossibility) but rather to correct potential mistaken assumptions by good people who may not have the necessary information. I and others listen to learn, so thank you for your sensible and knowledgeable contributions.

Bob is a perfect example of the Goebbels Idiocracy as he advances minimal truth stretched with lies and stupidity. Most recognize that by now. If he didn’t intend to lie, then when questioned, he would defend his points, which he cannot do, for they are taken from troll sources. He is not sufficiently intelligent to make these statements up by himself.

      1. Be specific…”Bob is a perfect example of the Goebbels Idiocracy as he advances minimal truth stretched with lies and stupidity.”

Which one of the statements is minimal truth or stretched the truth?

        A) having a prez that has 20 failed business

        B) has to pay $90 million for his sexual abuse of a woman

        C) confuses an ex wife for the woman he raped

        D) doesn’t know the difference between a rival running for Prez and the speaker of the house

        E) buried his ex wife on his golf course

        F) loves to “grab em by the pussy”

        G) having a prez encourage Russia to invade a NATO member

Please show specifically which one of the above statements if false.

        1. Bob, your talent is not in accuracy; instead, you are staying glued to the blog so that you can answer my reply to you before I finish an earlier one responding to:

“Which one of the statements is minimal truth or stretched the truth?

          A) having a prez that has 20 failed business”

I’ll respond by copying that response, and when we finish discussing Letter A, we can move on to Letter B. You will unilaterally withdraw from the discussion, realizing that your stupidity cannot be corrected until you learn that you have nothing to say and talk only because you like to hear yourself and think that by copying the errors of what others say, you are smart. Try copying true things.

          My prior response.:

You have the intellect of a Toad.

          1. There is one of trumps statements that should absolutely make him unelectable.

encouraging russia to invade a NATO country if they don’t pay their “NATO bills?

While I could point to hundreds of other reasons not to vote for him, this one thing should send shivers down the spine of any citizen of the United States that loves their country.

To anyone that will still vote for trump after saying that…it really shows where your priorities are.

I’ll stand by my previous prediction. trump will never win elected office again. Republicans will cease to exist after the November 2024 election when they lose the house and senate and become unelectable on a national scale because of trump. The repo party has already been lost and with trumps latest replacements in the RNC, it is now firmly the trump party. Go ahead, party on, Come November 6 you can start to read the articles about how the Rs got so off track with trump. How’d the election in NY for the Santos replacement go?

            1. “encouraging russia to invade a NATO country if they don’t pay their “NATO bills?”

Bob, You are making yourself look even more stupid. Check out Trump’s exact words, context, and the financial history of NAYO.

I will respond to that stupidity after you respond to my explanation of your infinitely dumb statement:

“You’re right, having a prez that has 20 failed business”

My response to this question was:
              ===

              1. “I said: ‘You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’ He said: ‘Yes, let’s say that happened.’ No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them (Russia) to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay,” Trump said.

“encourage them to do whatever they hell they want.”
What does that mean? play a game of poker? play hopscotch? Maybe watch Hunter Biden porn videos together?
                What does that mean?

                1. Bob, We have played this “Trump said something I do not like” game for 8 years.
It is old and worn out. Trump does periodically get caught saying actually stupid things, but that is quite rare.

Far more common are cases where Trump is alleged to have said or done something he did not,
Or where if you selectively edit what Trump actually said and bend it into a pretzel – you can MAYBE make it sound offensive.

Increasingly – people do not beleive your “Trump Said …” claims. Because they are usually garbage.
Increasingly people do not care about your “Trump Said …” garbage.

Putin has invaded a neighbor during the term of every single president since Putin took power EXCEPT one – Trump.

Is Putin too scared of Trump ? probably.
Is Trump actually rational and not so stupid as to deliberately provoke Russia by moving towards NATO membership for a country bordering on Russia – something the US promissed it would never do. In FACT we promised NATO would not expand to withing a 1000 miles of Russia.
Was Trump’s expansive energy policy – which has made it possible for Europe to keep the lights on through this, the Reason Putin did not invade anybody ?

All of these ? Something else ?

Does not matter – Putin CHOSE not to invade while Trump was president.
He Chose to do so under Clinton, Bush, Obama and Biden.

In 2021 Biden allegedly told the dead Mitterand that “America was back.”

The truth is that the US has never left NATO or Europe, but super majority of americans are expecting the rest of the world to foot atleast part of the bill for their own defence.

It is way past time for Europe to not only take responsibility for its own defense, but to step up as a regional power.

The USSR is gone and Russia is a paper tiger.
It is not for the US to decide how Europe relates to the world or deals with its needs.

Whether Trump or Biden is president it is only a question of Time before the US is going to expect europe to take on the majority of the responsibility for its own security and the stability of the region it is in.

The US does not need Russian oil or Gas, They US does not need oil from the Mideast.

It is up to Europe to face the responsibility for the majority of the blood and treasure for its own defense and interests.

That does not mean that America will not be there for Europe,
but it does mean that We will stand behind them – not infront of them.

                2. 18 Of 31 NATO Members Spend What’s Required On Defense.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg conceded to criticism that some members have been underfinancing the coalition’s defense budget, saying he expects a record 18 allies to meet their military spending goal this year.
“The criticism that you hear is not primarily about NATO, it’s about NATO allies not spending enough on NATO. And that’s a valid point,” Stoltenberg said during a press briefing on Wednesday, in response to a question on whether Trump’s comments aligned with the broader views of Republican officials that the NATO chief has engaged.

“It’s a point and a message that has been conveyed by successive U.S. administrations that European allies and Canada have to spend more, because we haven’t seen fair burden sharing in the alliance,” Stoltenberg added. “The good news is that this is exactly what NATO allies are now doing.”

                  Are NOW doing, after Trump.

                3. Bob, everone watched you run away and hide from a response. Hide behind changing the subject’

You picked the subject. Trumps failed businesses.

You got a crash course in business. Business men don’t save money. They use the money they earn, leverage it to expand or create business.
Heres a tidbit. Whats the number of failed businesses of Berkshire Hathaway? Zero?
                  How about just one example
Haven, the venture to disrupt U.S. health care formed by Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, and JPMorgan Chase, is disbanding less than three years after its launch. When it was formed, the three companies had a lofty goal: to “provide U.S. employees and their families with simplified, high-quality, and transparent health care at a reasonable cost.” Atul Gawande, the famous author and surgeon, was hired as CEO, and Jack Stoddard, who served as general manager for digital health at Comcast, took the COO job. What transpired next was a slow drain of talent. Stoddard left only nine months after being hired, and Gawande departed a year later.

Bob. You are a paste eater, at a Montessori school

                4. What are you whining about ? A treaty is a contract and if you don’t live up to your side of the contract it is moot.
Trump said the exact right thing with the exact legal precision needed, and the grifters need to pay up or suffer the consequences. That’s how the whole world works. Deny it is to be a liar, and thankfully Trump is not a lying leech like you idiot demoncrats. You’d never do the opposite of Trump’s statement in your personal or business life, so shove it !
We finally have a real President in Trump that isn’t a loser idiot that gets walked on by the whole world, like the demoncrats make certain they do every time.

Joey couldn’t even tackle a spy balloon, but he sure could rake in multiple millions in graft and grift from a nation he destroyed personally, like all the rest of you demoncrats dancing on the graves of Ukraine.

            2. Bob, I won’t respond to your prediction because you won’t be able to remember what you said when the 2024 election is decided.

            3. As S. Meyer points out, you have the intellect of a toad.
I would argue toads have more useful purpose and contribute to the environment.
If you have not noticed, Russia is going on two year war with the Ukraine.
              Amateurs study tactics.
              Professionals study logistics.
Russia does not have the logistical capability, the man power, to attack another country even if they wanted too least a nuclear war, and no one wins in that.
So what Trump said is irrelevant.
As S. Meyer said, read what Trump actually said in whole and understand the economics and logistics of NATO.

The Carrol trial was a sham. She could not recall the date, and the dress she claimed to have worn, the NYT fact checks called out that assertion as the dress was not made till years later.
The DA ran on “Get Trump.”
They changed the law of SOL to “Get Trump.”
They had the trial in NYC to “Get Trump.”

As to your prediction, Trump may not win elected office again if there is massive cheating.
Fact of the matter is the Democrat party is losing massive amounts of minority voters.
Blacks are angry illegals are getting better treatment then the black community ever has.
Hispanics, traditionally very religious and family centrist, see the woke leftist policies on their religious and family values under attack.
Asians feel they are being punished for being successful. They are even embracing the MAGA agenda and pushing it further.
Jews are taking a long hard look at their support of the Democrat party.
And the Republican party has become the party of the working class, while the Democrat party is the party of the elites.
So, what is your prediction based on? Everything I just mentioned are actual facts taken from polling, interviews with those minorities.

As I said earlier today, the NY election was a disaster for Biden.
Suozzi told Biden not to come and campaign for him. He was critical of Biden on the campaign trail. He even said, “look, his age is a problem and I don’t even know if he’ll stick it out.”
He also said, “I’ve been running against my party for a long time. I’m a moderate. We need centrism when Democrats swing too far to the left, they get too extreme. We run into problems.”
Suozzi is a JFK, traditional Democrat. That goes against everything the Biden admin is for. Suozzi is pro-Israel, he is an immigration hawk, and he talks more tough on crime than leftists.
I actually see this as a good thing to get the Democrat party back to normal.

              1. Upstate, I am waiting for Bob to respond to my first explanation. Take note he didn’t. One response is more uncomplicated to respond to than many. Bob couldn’t respond to my one, so he won’t respond to your excellent statements that I agree with though, as you recognize there is more history in Trump’s response on NATO. It was appropriate and necessary even though the form permits the Gobbles Idiocracy to spin it. He made similar types of statements to other world leaders, and though that didn’t stop the Idiocracy, it prevented other world leaders from reacting and causing bloodshed.

The NATO nations must take NATO seriously, and they aren’t. His response is to make them listen to something they don’t want to hear.

                1. S. Meyer,
“The NATO nations must take NATO seriously, and they aren’t. His response is to make them listen to something they don’t want to hear.”
That, and John Say statement of “but it does mean that We will stand behind them – not infront of them.” are spot on.
The EU, NATO and others have been abusing the US will come to our defense or will die for us is what many of us are tired of.
They need to step up to the plate.

              2. Excellent.

There are lots of Trends that favor Republicans and MAGA.

But just as Bob’s claim that Republicans will become irrelevant is crap – the claim that democrats will become irrelevant is also false.

Post he Clinton defeat in 2016 Democrats made a massive mistake – instead of recognizing that Trump reflected a strong republican effort to erode CORE democratic support, they doubled down on their own left wing.

Things that can not go on forever DON’T.
The democratic party WILL pull out of the Obama/Biden tailspin it has entered.
It looks like it will take a miracle for Biden to win the 2024 election.
Democrats did massively cheat in 2020 in many ways. But there are limits to cheating.

One of the reasons that Democrats got away with 2020 is that Biden DID win the popular vote commandingly.

There was not almost 10M fraudulent votes in 2020. At the very most there were 2M in 6 states. more likely it was only about 400,000 But that was enough to flip 5 states.

Democrats can NOT get away with 2M fraudulent votes.
They can not get away with 400,000 if Trump winns the popular vote by almost 10M votes which is where we are at.

Fraud only works in close elections. and it works best when it is large enough to change the outcome but not large enough to disrupt trends.

Democrats can not engage in successful fraud – unless they lead significantly in the popular vote. If they try they WILL get caught.

If Bob wishes to beleive there was not fraud – then Trump has gained 6+pts in head to head polls since election day 2020.
Currently this will not be close.

But eventually the democratic party will wake up.
I do not know much about Suozzi – EXCEPT that he is one of many democrats that are NOT tied to the idiotic woke agenda of their party leaders.

Current trends are running strongly against Democrats.
Eventually Democrats like Suozzi will take back their party and point things in a less disasterous direction.

            4. The election will be decided in November. Until then we are each free to beleive whatever we want.

But the current polls say otherwise.

Trump’s polling is more than 6% above where it was in Nov 2020, Biden’s is the lowest it has ever been.

If the election were today, the polls say that not only would Trump win decisively – both in the electoral college and the popular vote. but that Republicans would take the senate and the house.

As to the NY special election – On of Two candidates who were indistinguishable aside from the letter after their name won in a blue district that is slowly moving red.

Republicans ARE going to flip New York red, but that is going to take years. Just as Democrats are likely to flip GA blue – in several years.

Nationally the Trend favors Republicans, Trump and the MAGA agenda.
You need not believe me – read Democratic political analysts/demographers – the same ones predicting a permanent democratic majority who are now screaming that Democrats are in very serious trouble over the long run.

In the past decade Republicans have gained more than 10% additional share in every single minority group
Republicans are approaching parity with democrats among hispanics.
They have gone from single digit support from blacks to 20%+ overall, and 40% among black males.

Worse still ALL these trends are ONGOING.

They will continue so long as:

              Democrats continue to fail.
Democrats continue to piss all over the majority of the country – people that used to be their base.

One of the reasons that Trumps support grows – both within the GOP and the country as a whole is because what he says and does is what most americans want.

These Trends are unlikely to continue forever.
              Why ?

Because just as your idiotic and fact free claim that republicans are moving towards complete irrelevance is false.
Even though Democrats ARE actively moving towards irrelevance, they WILL eventually change, it is just a question of when.
Democrats WILL eventually shift their politics to stem their hemoraging. But that will require moving back to the center.

The only question is how bad things have to get first.

      2. How true! There is nothing inherently wrong about not liking Trump. Sometimes, Trump gets on my nerves, too, and he is not 100% right about everything. Trump is a human being, after all. But that being said, Trump is heads and tails above Biden and other Democrats, and RINOs, about what it would take to fix the country, and about some of the stupid things that we do. Exactly how many p^ssies do Bob, and the other shills, think these illegal aliens are going to grab, and not just grab but assault them and kill them? But that don’t matter, because what Democrats really want grabbed, is that Big D handle, in the voting booth.

        1. Floyd,
          Well said and good point.
How many times have we read about all the illegals who have raped, assaulted, stolen, that came across our unsecure Southern border?
Those illegals who assaulted NYC police officers?
Just read a report about a woman who chased down some guy who stole her wallet in Ann Arbor MI. It was the third time she had been robbed. That is Biden’s lawless America.
And DC. Nice parts of town, people are getting car jacked, robbed and even shot.

        2. Just check the total employed numbers, then you know many millions of the illegals who crossed since biden was illegally installed are not working, they are sucking down welfare or committing massive crimes to get buy, likely both.
The governments own employment numbers prove this.
So it is going to explode at some point, like it has been in Chicago and NY

  16. This whole thing is completely sad on so many fronts; from Hunter Biden’s drug use, the use of shell companies to move their money around to his father being the “Big Guy” Worse of all is the compliant media, giving cover to the Bidens.

  17. The Bidens are coming out of the closet—the China Closet. Will Trump be the bull in the China Closet?

  18. Anonymous says there is no evidence of a crime. This is commonly considered as the Bart Simpson defense. “I didn’t do it. Nobody saw me do it. You can’t prove a thing.” One cartoon character readily recognizes what another cartoon character is doing. It worked for Bart so why shouldn’t it work for the Biden clan and Anonymous. You can find both in the funny pages.

    1. TiT, the standards for evidence of a crime are much different for Democrats than Republicans. Democrats believe indictments are evidence. They believe snap impeachments are evidence. They believe if they use words like “insurrection” followed by a “made-for-tv” primetime uniparty hearing is evidence. Their court is not one of the law, but of public opinion.

      1. And they have lost in the court of public opinion, which is why their few wins in the courts of law have resulted in more harm than good.

      2. “Their court is not one of the law, but of public opinion.”

That is an age-old problem. Such persons should not be leaders.

Olly, you study the Bible. That is what happened with King Saul.

    2. TiT,
      Well said.
It is comical to watch them spin away any and all the evidence, the emails, the texts, the testimony from witnesses.
But there is nothing to see here!

      1. What’s NOT comical is when trump supporters say nothing to see here after a judge and a jury find trump libel for fraud and sexual assault. What’s NOT comical is when every witness that testifies against trump is a republican, and trump supporters say it’s a witch hunt. What’s NOT comical is when trump stands next to Putin and says he believes Putin over his own hand picked intel agencies heads. What’s NOT comical when trump says our war dead are suckers and losers, and he could care less if Russia takes over Ukraine and eastern Europe.

        1. Fishsick, what is comical is the degree of TDS that has rotted out your brain and soul.
          Get help.

        2. The Ultimate Jury – the american people were unconvinced.

You say every witness against Trump is a republican – is E. Jean Carroll a Republican ?

        3. FW, you personally and the left have been caught lying so many times – why should anyone beleive you ?

Does the “war dead are suckers” story need to be debunked AGAIN ?

You Dennis, GiGi are STILL pushing the rotting carcass of the collusion delusion when it has been established that it was a Hoax pushed by Hillary who was (albeit only in a minor way) colluding with Russians.

Why don’t people accept what you claim ?

Because you have been caught lying so many times.

        4. FW,
          Everything is not binary.
I do not think there are more than a handful of people who “could care less if Russia takes over Ukraine and eastern Europe.”

But decades of those in government – right and left lying to us about war have majorities of americans PROPERLY asking
“What is US interest in Ukraine” ?

Increasing it is becoming evident that the US – and particularly the Biden administration is the “Bad Guy” in Ukraine – not Putin.

That does not make Putin a good guy. Ordinary americans understand that the leaders of nations we are allied with – are not “good guys”, they are at best less bad guys. The Left tried to Box Trump in over a conflict between two “Bud Guys” – MBS and Erodegan – both of whom were important US allies.

Doe the fact that Putin is a thug means that we should tripple the risk of global nuclear war to stop him ?

Does it mean we should spend our blood and treasure to defeat him ?

You say Putin is going to take over Ukraine and Eastern Europe ?

Are you paying any attention – Putin was unsuccessful in “taking over Ukraine” – you think he will manage to take over Finland. Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia ?

What the Ukrainians have done is amazing. They have demonstrated beyond any doubt that Putin can NOT defeat the nations of Europe.

Unfortunately they have ALSO demonstrated that standing alone with sophisticated western Weapons they can not win a war of attrition against Russia.

The time for Peace was 2 years ago – before more than 300,000 people had died.

But if you are insistant that Put must be defeated on the battlefield – then what Ukraine needs is soldiers not money and weapons.

Are you ready to send your sons and daughters to die in Ukraine ?

That is NOT in US interests.

But it is in the interests of Poland, Finland, Chekoslovakia, Hungary, possibly even Germany and france.

Putin can be defeated – if that is what you insist on. But not with more money and more technology.

Doing so requires boots on the ground – and you may not send my son or daughter.

            1. Thx

I hope I have expressed this accurately, but if I have fallen short, that does not change the fact that Several trends are occurring concurrently.

The center of US global interests is shifting from Europe, the mideast and Russia to Asia.

Since the ascendance of Xi – china has slowly become ACTUALLY fascist. This is a shame for an otherwise wonderful country that had been heading in the right direction since Mao’s death.

I expect that the threat posed by China and Xi will be short lived. China is probably past its peak, and the US military is at its weakest.

Evident in Ukraine US military technology is absolutely incredible – especialy when you consider that Ukraine is mostly suing 20+ year old US technology, at the same time it is also clear that US technology is incredibly expensive and insufficient against a determined enemy that can survive the initial onslaught.

Today many of the intelligence and strategy resources that used to be the domain of “the deep state” are now available to all of us.

Unbeleiveably realistic computer war gaming. plus publicly accessible intelligence far better than what the CIA had during the cold war is available to ordinary people. One particular aspect that fascinates me is that there are youtubers that are buying time on Russian surveailance sattelites to get photos of Russian depots and then counting Russian artillery and tanks as well as types.

The US is actually losing the logistical war against Russia. Russia is doing a far better job at ramping up war production – than the US is. Russian stockpiles are going down – but they are incredibly deep. Russia has tanks back to WWII and it is using them.
Regardless, Russia is not going to run out of tanks, artillery or shells. Ukraine is probably also self sufficient between captured and repaired russian equipement and more advanced western equipement. But Ukraine is behind Russia more than 5:1 in artilery fire.
Himars is amazing. HiTech equipment dominates at the early stages of a war. Even though Ukraine was even farther behind in state of the art equipement at the start of this conflict, they still were able to blunt Russian advances with technology strategy tactics and better training that allowed them to survive the early days of the war.

But the more concerning battle regarding US interests is the possible invasion of Taiwan.

If China attacks Taiwan the first days will likely be a bloodbath for the chinese. But China has vastly more numbers of everything that Russia. Further, while not even close to western standards the Chinese are better trained – particularly their airforce than Russia.

All simuluations of conflict with China – whether over Taiwan or anything else have the US totally dominating for about 72 hours.
Then the US runs out of high tech missles and we can not resupply fast enough accross the pacific to deal with wave after wave after wave of chinese forces – numbers greater than the Russians a dn technology inferior to our own, but vastly superior to Russia.

We are in a narrow window of oportunity for china – because the US is fielding first generation energy weapons. Lasers, Phasers, Rail guns. These suck at the moment. But they are improving rapidly. Further almost every single US warship currently afloat is already designed to support these weapons as they become available. Every US warship built in the 21st century has TWO nuclear reactors – one for the ship, and one for the weapons. That means infinite supplies once these are really online.

I keep talking of the shifting of US focus from Europe to asia.

This is not some Trump policy. It has been moving slowly for over 20 years.

Even Biden is reopening Tinian and other WWII pacific bases. We need stockpiles closer to the battle front,
We need bases for long range fighters and bombers that are outside China’s range – which is at most 300km past the mainland.

I would note – much of this is NOT long term. As I said we have a narrow window in which china could do something really stupid that will F#$K up the world.

The US is re-industrializing. More importantly we are moving away from all the eggs in the china basket economic model.
China will take atleast a decade to catch up to the chip technology in the west – That does NOT mean they can not do incredible things with the technology they have. Regardless – US semiconductor makers are growing. Taiwanese companies are opening fabs in the US. In a decade Taiwan will no longer be a vital US interest. At the same time in a decade China will no longer be the military threat it is today.

But RIGHT NOW Ukraine is NOT in the US interests – and Taiwan is.

Over the long run – Our interests in Europe will diminish Europe is deindustrializing. Europe has massive problems of numerous causes. But one of those causes is decades of failing socialism. They also have immigrant problems that dwarf ours as well as a far right that actually is violent, xenophobic, and much more dangerous than in the US.

Right and left do NOT means the same thing in Europe as they do in the US. While the US left is increasingly headed towards the stupidity of the european left, the US right has always been more libertarian than Europe and it is only becoming more so as the left heads towards marxism.

I would note that a generation ago Europe had the best universities in the world – today with very few exceptions european universities are garbage. Names that have many centuries of prestige are worthless sheepskin today.
Our elite universities are much the same.

The US can survive the decline of its universities, and we have time to fix them – and it will take alot of time.
We STILL are producing the best scientists and engineers in the world – even if a few domains of science have become politically corrupt. Conversely US humanities, and soft sciences have turned to garbage. Fortunately – our standard of living is NOT dependent on these.

In the short term – Europe is NOT in the US interests. Contra the left – Putin IS a paper tiger – and Europe can handle Russia – entirely without the US. I do not beleive that conflict will occur. But if it does – it will NOT be the antiseptic war that the american people have become used to. The US can not fight a protracted war against a large enemy without it turning into something more like WWII than GWII. And it will be even bloodier if it is Europe/NATO doing the fighting. But that is not going to happen – so long as europe gets its act together and prepares to defend itself.

I would note the situation in Asia is much the same – with Three differences –
We can not lose Taiwan, much less South Korea and Japan right now. Eventually we will be able to hande that – but not now. Next,

Asia is further ahead in preparing to defend itself and further ahead in addressing the possibility of defending itself without the US
Asian countries from India through the entire region are putting aside their SIGNIFICANT differences and trying to figure out how to deal with an increasingly fascist and militant China. Japan has been rebuilding its military – and thought not even close to the US, they are likely the 2nd most powerful navy in the world right now, And more important they are one of only 3 countries that actually knows how to fight a naval war – US, UK, JP – that is it. It takes a century to actually learn how to fight a navy. Without the US a conflict with China will be bloody as h311 – but it is likely other asian nations CAN stop China.

Third – China is (except for nukes) far ahead of Russia in both numbers and actual military cabaility. China can keep human wave attacks up far longer than Russia. But almost as importantly – Chinese training is better, and the equipement is better and available in large numbers. Chinese forces are inferior to the US and JP, but they are superior to Russians. That is one of the things we have learned from Ukraine.

If we going beyond the next Decade – the US is going to be increasingly focused on the western hemisphere and the anglosphere.

The US is NOT going to be the sole force creating global peace and stability. Ultimately we will see the same thing happen in Asia as is currently happening witht he US relationship to Europe.

We are in the early stages of “deglobalisation.”

              In the long run there is a serious risk of US military involvement in Mexico – on the one hand stard of living has been rising in Mexico as a result of the US using Mexico as its modern “rust belt” – but on the other end Mexico is increasingly becomeing a failed Narco state.;

And unlike Ukraine and much like Taiwan – Mexico IS in the US interests.

The above is NOT “My wishes” it is my cold assessment of the future as influenced by the data and trends and shared by many real analysts.

Personally I am an advocate for ACTUAL global free trade. Something we Were moving towards a few decades ago.

        5. The reason the lawfare cases don’t matter are numerous, a big one is you idiots screamed Russia got Trump elected for years, and you were lying, and we all knew it from day one. It was your libturd california social media that silenced and manipulated the entire election, and we have the goods and the proof on the entire thing.
That’s one reason why we don’t believe you and your twisted lying court cases, just as you idiots proved long ago going after the wrong republican for the Valerie Plame “leak”, Scooter Libby, and we watched your jurors come forth and shriek we wanted to get Dick Cheney that’s why we did this. It was 100% pathetic lying your jury admitted to. Everyone knows the leaker was Colin Powell’s #2 Richard Armitage. All of you also blamed Robert Novak of Crossfire fame.
Now we see Fanni the fraudster lying as she humped a married dude she paid in extraordinary amounts to lyingly go after Trump so she could sail around the world and eat cavviar and hump him, a married man, wherever she wanted on the taxpayers dime.
          LOL

NO ONE BELIEVES A WORD OF YOUR STUPID LYING COURT CASES, YOU BLEW THAT A LONG TIME AGO.
You’re caught out on the 2 J6 bombs, planted by the FBI and intel, with 60 min kitchen timers both set at 20 mins when found, unable to explode, and MANY kamala SS and capitol police within feet IGNORING THE BOMB AND EATING LUNCH AFTER BEING NOTIFIED – since they knew it was all the usual sick plot the gov agencies now come up with on the regular, like russia russia russia, gretchen whitfield kidnapping (a total lie concocted by fbi and intel) …
All we have to do is look and see if it is advantageous for demoncrats, then we go right to the investigation that blows it wide open as a demoncrat deep state fake. NONE OF IT IS UP FOR QUESTION.
