“The defendant’s laptop is real.” With those words and pictures like this one of Biden using crack, the Justice Department introduced the Hunter Biden laptop as evidence in his upcoming trial over federal gun violations. The federal prosecutors went on to denounce suggestions of Russian disinformation, long peddled by the Bidens, the media and former intelligence officials, as nothing more than a “conspiracy theory.”
The media eagerly spread the claim of Russian disinformation before the presidential election. Twitter and others suppressed the story. This was done through one of the most skillful disinformation campaigns in history.
It later came out that associates of the Biden campaign (including now Secretary of State Antony Blinken) pushed a long effort to get former intelligence officials to sign a letter making the claim, knowing that an ever-accommodating media would accept the claim without question or further inquiry.
At the time, some of us wrote that the laptop was “self-authenticating” since many of the emails were confirmed by third parties and other evidence. The Justice Department last week made the same claim of “self-authentication” as well as independent confirmation by federal investigators.
In the now-debunked letter of former intelligence officials just before the election, figures such as Leon Panetta, former CIA Director in the Obama Administration, claimed that the letter had all of the markings of a Russian disinformation effort by intelligence services. (Panetta continued to make the assertion late last year in pushing what the federal government is now calling a “conspiracy theory.”).
The Washington Post’s Phillip Bump and others also continued to push the conspiracy theory. Indeed, in 2021, when media organizations were finally admitting that the laptop was authentic, Bump was still declaring that it was a “conspiracy theory.” Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, Bump continued to suggest that “the laptop was seeded by Russian intelligence.”
What is equally astonishing is that in 2023 the Post expressly stood by Bump’s reporting on the laptop and other debunked claims. Even after the government has declared this reporting as part of a “conspiracy theory,” the Post continues to support the reporting by Bump and others.
The laptop includes not just pictures of Hunter using drugs but brandishing a handgun. The court clearly agrees with the government on the authenticity of the laptop. It has ruled against the defense and will allow it to be introduced into evidence.
Despite the conclusions of American intelligence and others, the Biden team continued to push the disinformation. That led the Justice Department to tell the court that “The defendant’s theory about the laptop is a conspiracy theory with no supporting evidence.” It added that Hunter’s “laptop is real (it will be introduced as a trial exhibit) and it contains significant evidence of the defendant’s guilt.”
The response from the media has been a collective shrug. Worse yet, many of these same political and media figures continue to support censorship and government regulations of “disinformation” while the government is now acknowledging that they carried off one of the most successful disinformation campaigns in history.
Pretty clear who are CIA assets involved in the Ukraine op.
Disinformation – the Dems have perfected the dark art, all the way to the White House in 2020. And these are the jokers who yell and scream about ‘defending democracy’.
We’ll see if the wheel of karma returns Trump to the White House in 2024, and send the Dems back to the political wasteland, as the GOP is set for the Executive-Legislative-Judiciary trifecta come November.
Then some real and much needed swamp-draining can begin.
Swamp-draining?
You mean like last time, hiring people like Bolton? Or not prosecuting HRC?
Get ready for another four years of disappointment, and MORE swamp.
I’ll admit that some of Trump v.1 was very disappointing. OTOH, prior to Trump v.1, we not only wouldn’t have prosecuted HRC, we would have elected her POTUS. The Nikki Haley “will be on the team” language is just as disappointing as Cheney-in-heels is more of that same crap. What’s a peace-loving, marxist-hating US citizen to do – vote for Swamp on Steroids with a drool bucket or Trump? Easy, Trump. The dems can vote kennedy as a protest vte, I suppose, but no sincere pub can.
Anonymous said: “What’s a peace-loving, marxist-hating US citizen to do – vote for Swamp on Steroids with a drool bucket or Trump?”
Yeah, the Haley statement was hugely disappointing. So was his recent blather TRIPLING down on his boasts about expediting the COVID vaccine. I’m very much hoping that he has actually learned something valid from experience, and that those statements are mostly him just compulsively running his big mouth. Regarding my November vote, it depends. If there is any chance that the electoral votes for my deep blue state are actually in play, I plan to hold my nose and vote for Trump. If not, this independent/small-l-libertarian/minarchist will either sit on his hands at home, or vote for Kennedy as his protest. While I am very much opposed to some of Kennedy’s positions, particularly regarding 2A, I think that he is more honest than either Biden or Trump, and to me, that still has some value.
I’ve come to a point in time that I think the real threat to America are not the usual suspects outside America but a group of Americans in America.
Margot,
Well said.
Some of the actions made by the Biden admin seem to want to weaken America.
It does not make sense.
@Margot
I don’t think there’s any doubt about remaining, personally. And virtually all of them are on the left or tools of the left. 2008 – 2024 – that’s the short time it took to create a full-blown regime out of a formerly merely corrupt party, replete with foot soldiers, so to speak.

“Medusa – Don’t look at Hillary!”
Better yet: Use a mirror.
There is an ‘incident’ behind the ‘Don’t look at Hillary’ comment.
It was on Airforce-1 The Flight Crew was doing the Cabin Ready protocol as Mrs. Clinton (She was Sec of State) when a Airman had to pass by her in the isle. The Airman was looking in the path of travel he need to go as Hillary was smack in the middle of the isle, so he was looking at Her to pass.
Maybe not ‘at the top of her lungs’ but overly loud, she started yelling ‘DON’T LOOK AT ME’ and over and over again at the Airman. Loud enough for the entire Plane’s Crew heard it. The Poor Guy was so petrified and shaken-up that we had put him in the Flight Deck jumper for the flight and hide him away from Medusa. No One will ever forget that Flight.
She’s a -B**ch-
I said this before but it’s worth mentioning yet again that the gun being held by Hunter in the nude photo (above and on the laptop) is an automatic, possibly a 9 mm or .380. It is NOT the gun he was charged with buying in violation of the law. The gun in his indictment is a Colt Cobra, a .38 caliber revolver also known as a “detective special.” It is a very different gun. Obviously, this case cannot go to trial because the evidence is too compelling and the Biden Crime Family (BCF) do not want their ladies on the stand while the family patriarch is allegedly running for POTUS. When the deal is cut, prosecutors and Special Counsel Weisse should insist on total cooperation, including information about the automatic and any other crimes. This is standard boilerplate language in cooperation agreements but this may be different because total cooperation will require Hunter to cough up his uncle and his dad, not to mention other family members and former business partners. Hunter is not in a good place nor is his father. It would be ironic if an illegal gun charge brings down the BCF sort of like murderous gangster Al Capone who was taken down by a tax charge. Karma is Kool!
I am old enough to remember James Comey “we aren’t able to confirm the laptops origin. It maybe Russian Disinformation.” Also Andrew McCabe “We believe this to be unverified Russian Disinformation”. All the while knowing damn well it was Hunter Biden’s Laptop. I also remember the attempt by the Justice Department to prosecute the Computer Repairman for various crimes (I believe he has several Lawsuits in the process).
Maybe if Turley cited to links with original stories instead of Fox News and himself, a reader could check his work, which, as history shows, needs to be checked. Bump has been adept at debunking Turley’s opinions.
To be uninformed is one thing, to choose to remain uninformed is childish. Grow up.
Jay: The beauty of this nation is that any reader, including you, are free to check Turley’s work or that of Bump or any other writer. Both the left and right engage in hyperbole and other tricks of the trade when it’s to their advantage to do so. This should not surprise you but motivate you to do your own research and read sources that not only agree with you (or vice versa) but disagree with you (or vice versa). That way, you will be well informed. A clever writer can discredit almost anything by selective hyperbole. It’s up to us to see through this. Granted, the weak minds among us may not be willing nor able to do this and will follow blindly the pied pipers of their dreams but I assume if you’re reading this blog, you are not among those who must rely on others for your “news.” I could be wrong, though.
JJC,
Great comment!
Are you a troll, or just willfully ignorant?
@Jay. Re: Bump has been adept….Nothing more than a turkey supporting the Thanksgiving feast.
Blinked set this all up.
The propaganda ploy was so successful, Blinken was awarded one of the most plum jobs in the Administration. Secretary of State. Comes with a fully loaded bar . . . THAT TRAVELS THE ENTIRE GLOBE, at the whim of Secretary. No talent or skill required.
iowan2 said: “No talent or skill required.”
Oh, I think Blinken’s job requires many talents and skills. Just none that any decent, self-respecting human would ever aspire to under even the most dire of circumstances.
If this sort of governmental and media duplicity continues unabated, eventually the whole system will crash and burn. The trajectory we are on is not encouraging. Fifty-one of our top-ranked officials, elitists, signed on to the “Russian disinformation” story. As noted, many of them are sticking with their story. That is pretty remarkable…
Your loyalties are with Russia.
I don’t speak for others.
I am not loyal to Russia. That same way I was not loyal to Russia and China during Viet Nam.
I am fully supporting the lives of fighting age Ukrainian men
I am fully supporting the fact, that no amount of weaponry is going to push back Russia and secure the boundries prior to the Russian invasion.
There only exists a mutually arrived at settlement, with a Nation that can’t be trusted.
I’ve been asking for a year how a Ukraine victory is attainable, and there is never a response.
The empty headed response that unless you fully support sending $billioins of weapons to Ukraine, is mindless blather. Because my simple question has no answer.
Iowan2,
You are I are realists.
We see the situation for what it is.
That is not being a Russian loyalist or pro-Putin. Just objectively analyzing the situation, facts and coming to a logical conclusion.
No amount of wishful thinking or mindless blather is going to change that without risking WWIII.
And all those pro-forever war, they are perfectly fine with it. As long as they are sending someone else to do the fighting and dying.
Of course weapons have and will continue to cost huge amounts of money, so I think the real question is “Can they achieve their goal?” or “Is there some quantity or weapons system that would turn the tide without direct NATO involvement?”.
The answer to that I continue to believe is yes, with certain conditions.
Let me preface this by saying despite Putin’s propensity of playing e nuclear card over and over I do not take him seriously. He knows that the tactical use of nukes would result in retaliation and despite his rhetoric, and regardless of what would happen to the West, he is not going to trade St Petersburg and Moscow to gain Kyiv and inevitably that’s where it would lead.
The problem so far is that the weapons aid that has been given to Ukraine (What has made it to the battlefield, but that is a separate issue) has either been outdated, or purposefully crippled to limit “conflict expansion”. This has to end.
It has to be made clear that we are willing to give systems that are capable of reaching the sources of attack, the air bases, ports, rail depots, etc. so as to disrupt or destroy their ability to reach and supply the battlefield.
Russia’s military doctrine relies heavily on WW2 and earlier tactics, mainly intense artillery and short range missile barrage, and it’s logistics are completely dependent on resupply by rail. Destroy the rail hubs in Russia and drop the Kerch bridge and you effectively cut off Crimea and make resupply of the Donbass impossible.
That also calls Putin’s bluff. At that point the only war he can conduct is via conventional or possibly nuclear missiles and despite their claims to the contrary the supposed hypersonic Kh-47M2 Kinzhal has not had a great track record. Besides you can’t win a war by aerial barrage alone. At the same time it should be made clear that any attack on NATO forces in the front line states will result in the complete blockade of Kaliningrad Oblast by land, air, and sea, as well as the expulsion of Russian forces from Transdniestria.
So long as the West continues to be more concerned about limiting the scope and scale of the conflict than about doing what is necessary to decimate and roll back Russian forces to the pre 92 borders we may as well set fire to the money we are spending.
currentsitguy,
From what I have read, it is the manpower issue that is really key to this war.
The Ukraine simply does not have the manpower to even maintain the current front line, let alone a summer counter attack.
Poland offered to round up all the Ukrainian military aged men, deport them back to the Ukraine to be conscripted into their military. Could that give them the numbers they need?
Of course a conscription military is not known for its combat effectiveness. So, even if we gave them more advance weapons, would it turn the tide of this war if they are not willing to use them?
Least some serious game changer, I do not see another outcome other than the Ukraine being forced into an agreement on not so good terms.
Let me 1st say Ukraine is NOT a candidate for NATO membership with borders in dispute.
Raw numbers of soldiers are not a good predictor of battlefield success, advanced weapons systems are. The bottom line after two years despite what both sides claim is it is a stalemate. I wouldn’t take much to change the balance of power.
He knows that the tactical use of nukes would result in retaliation
Lets just make stuff up. First of all you don’t, nor could you possibly know the mind of Putin, or what he would do in the event he were close to losing this war. The fact you think his regime would survive that and that he wouldn’t do very desperate things to avoid such an outcome proves your ignorance.
Second, what “retaliation”??? From whom??
Do you honestly think the US would launch nuclear weapons in response? That’s not ignorant, it’s borderline idiot.
It’s not ignorant, it’s our stated policy. the use of nuclear weapons WILL result in their use in kind. That’s not speculation or wishful thinking, it’s a plain fact, and no, I do not believe he will risk total antihalation on a misguided invasion of a foreign country for territorial conquest if he knows the price is obliteration. Putin may be a power mad dictator bent on rebuilding the Iron Curtain but he is not mad in that sense and even if he is his own people ae not going to allow him to destroy the Rodina (родина, Motherland) in a crazy land grab.
I would say it’s pretty ignorant to not remember the “red line in the sand”???
Who stated that policy?? Biden?? The same idiot that said we would defend Taiwan militarily, 3 times???
Please give me the exact quote from the Commander in Chief…you remember him, the only person who controls the release of nuclear weapons…
When called out for makin’ stuff up, the natural response apparently, is to make more stuff up. Well played.
Oh, that’s right, Biden said the same thing to Putin that he said to the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Iran (approximately 300 times),,,
“Don’t”
Oh yea, that’s what that means…I got it now.
It has to be made clear that we are willing to give systems that are capable of reaching the sources of attack, the air bases, ports, rail depots, etc. so as to disrupt or destroy their ability to reach and supply the battlefield.
I am way paste, seeing any evidence Obama wants to win this war.
The simple question. Why now, and not two years ago, is it all of a sudden OK to go on the offensive against Russia? Nope. Ukraine and Isreal is about fattening the Pockets of the DC swamp dwellers, skimming their grift of the arms sales. Nothing more.
Both places are being minipulated by the CIA/State Dept, secret society that (they believe) runs the world.
Give them what the need to win, or cease and desist. This is exactly like Korea and Viet Nam, and the Middle East.
The goal has to be destruction and death. Anything less is literally sending our youth into the meat grinder of armed conflict.
Strange, yes, that the FBI has a shot to kill search warrant served on MAL, the residence of a President.
But with Ukraine and Israel, their ability to defend themselves is severely limited?
You are correct – Putin will not give up one inch of territory. The time for negotiations has passed and Putin is bringing the hammer down on Ukraine. And NATO/US just keep poking the bear in order to start WW3. Zelensky is not a commander in chief, and Putin is no fool. And Nuland is the mother of Maidan. I don’t know how these people sleep at night knowing they are responsible for the deaths of over 500,000 people. The problem NATO/US is going to have is that the cupboards are bare – no weapons, no fuel, and very few soldiers to send to slaughter.
iowan2 said: “There only exists a mutually arrived at settlement, with a Nation that can’t be trusted.”
Which nation were you refering to with that statement? As far as I can tell, it could apply just as easily to the current Ukraine regime as to Moscow, possibly more so.
#6,
OK. Don’t get wrapped up in who is right or wrong.
MY POINT, is, the Weapons, the gun running, if you will. Has nothing to do with “fighting for peace” It only has to do with the profits of the Military/Industrial Complex, DDE warned us all about.
Depending on what you see as the problem, has a huge impact as to what you see as the solution.
I see the problem as the sacrifice, with no gain, the lose of life of 100,000 fighting age men, and solution is a negotiated cease fire.
Your sense of the Problem, influences your solution
iowan2 said: “Don’t get wrapped up in who is right or wrong. ”
Oh, I agree 100%. I was just trying to figure out if you meant only Russia, or only Ukraine, by that “nation that can’t be trusted” description, because, to me, that applies pretty much equally to both, as well as nearly all of the EU “interested bystanders”. I think our marching orders should be to just GTF out, period, end of story.
When you show naked pictures of Hunter on your blog and Hannity et al show them on their show and MTG shows them at a Congressional hearing, we know the laptop is really about the naked pictures.
Look! Squirrell!
Anything to deflect away from the FACT that 50 former high ranking, hyper partisan Democrat hacks in the so called “intelligence community” engaged in a wholly dishonest disinformation campaign to swing the election to the evil and dark side. All the while pontificating about how important free and fair elections are to “our democracy”.
Although these days I don’t vote for Democrats, I’d have to say that if Sean Hannity and Rep. Green make something about one thing, in reality that something going to be about something altogether different.
Ellen Evans said: “I’d have to say that if Sean Hannity and Rep. Green make something about one thing, in reality that something going to be about something altogether different.”
I haven’t decided for certain yet exactly where Green is coming from. I also haven’t read or listened to anything from Hannity in years, because I became conviced that he was nothing but an aggressive stooge attacking whomever he was siced upon.
There it is, the attempt to make it about naked pictures instead of election interference. It took 20 whole posts!!!
UpstateFarmer said: “with Biden’s forever war, they will have a chance to enlist, and get sent to die.”
If the US continues to tacitly authorize Ukraine to use US-provided weapons to strike deep within Russia, those grandkids (and ours) could be marching to war over a highly radioactive landscape. .
Number 6,
And that is why I am for peace.
We have got to stop playing WWIII/nuclear chicken.
If there are any people left to march.
This is only being admitted now to get Joey Two Scoops off the ticket. Now they’ll paint Hunter as a poor helpless addict, and Joey will step down – you know, for the good of democracy. Such despicable people. DC is a cesspool of corruption.
Tend to agree. Have seen several columns of late outlining the “path” to FJB exiting stage left. 1) DOJ goes hard after Hunter, 2) Hunter convicted on the gun charges, 3) FJB pardons his son so he does not go to prison, 4) FJB, having mis-used POTUS authority, does the “right thing” and steps down thus clearing the way for whatever the hell the dims decide to replace him (and the VPOTUS) with.
This sequence of events makes some sense I believe. Otherwise, why is the Garland DOJ going so hard after Hunter on this?
Anonymous said: “Now they’ll paint Hunter as a poor helpless addict, and Joey will step down – you know, for the good of democracy.”
Plausible, except for one factor. Who would the Demons nominate in his stead? Kamala is obviously (to me, at least) not electable. Neither is Gavin Newsom. Those appear to me to be among the very, very few Demons who already have nationwide name recognition. Anyone else would need to get a tremendous amount of (positive) publicity between now and November. Election Day is just over 5 months away now. That is a very short time to create, publicize, and popularize a political personality from a current relatively unknown figure. Frankly, I’m quite skeptical that it could be done successfully. I think that the current Demon Plan A might be more likely to be to continue to try to sabotage Trump through lawfare, and hope enough feces stick to him that his voters stay home, and Biden is re-elected. After which they could force Biden to retire, or just alter his medication to kill him or put him onto a coma, and then slip whomever they chose for his VP this time (possibly, but not necessarily, Kamala) into the Presidency without directly involving the electorate. Plan B might well be to damage the US domestic economy and foreign relations to the point that if Trump does get elected, he will be stuck in a constant position of damage control, have no opportunity to impement his agenda, and be very susceptible to blame for the situation deliberately created as a punji stick trap for him by the Demons. That leaves one very big question unanswered. Since they would need to begin sabotaging a prospective Trump administration well before the outcome of the election is known, and would not be able to quickly reverse course if Biden (or a substitute) unexpectedly won over Trump, how would they deflect the view of the public from direct observation and accurate attribution of the crisis to their actions? Frankly, I don’t know for certain, but maybe that’s why the groundwork is currently being laid for declaration of H5N1 as a horrible pandemic, requiring the same disenfranchisement of the rights to assemble and get honest information US public as did the COVID debacle.
The response from the media has been a collective shrug
From the mouth of Senate Leader Harry Reid “we won didn’t we”
This will be the same collective shrug when all of Trumps lawfare fiascos are eventually overturned.
Turley wrote: “The federal prosecutors went on to denounce suggestions of Russian disinformation, long peddled by the Bidens, the media and former intelligence officials, as nothing more than a ‘conspiracy theory.'”
And how long before the administration leans on Garland and Garland, in turn, leans on DOJ personnel to cease making statements that accurately invoke the truth, and thereby inflame public sentiment against all things Biden? Countdown begins…
As long as there is no consequences for their actions, they will just continue their corruption, flaunt it in our faces.
At this point it is so rife, no matter who is in the WH, or controls either the House or the Senate, they will continue pushing their agenda with no accountability.
The real question is, how to get these people out of positions of power? I think the corruption is so infested, it would take more than one Republican WH admin or Congress to rid the infestation.
Anyone with half a brain cell could see how the media and those in political power were gaslighting about the laptop in the same way they are trying to avoid discussing the overwhelming evidence of “big guy’s” bribery operation.
Don’t forget tge “spontaneous” mostly peaceful protests where baskets of rocks magically appeared on the streets before the destruction. Washington is rife with corruption. Oh, and the mysterious White House cocaine…let’s not forget that.
We are being had by motivated, organized malefactors who despise this nation, its citizens and the freedoms we enjoy.
It is not a conspiracy if two or more conspire.
It’s not a conspiracy theory if two or more conspire.
Of course EM, you are correct and many of us knew it all along. We are being ruled by an evil cabal. The question is can we do anything about it or must we submit? The ballot box is no help if we continue to have 2:30 am “emergencies” in big city Democrat counting rooms. Please articulate our options.
wiseoldlawyer said: “The question is can we do anything about it or must we submit?”
Some of us have no intention of submitting on bended knee, no matter what the reported election results are.
When the Russian disinformation claim was spread by the lame stream media, I laughed. How could anyone believe that the Russians took the time to photoshop/AI the contents of such that were on this laptop, then turn the laptop into a computer repair guy, under Hunter Biden’s name. The repair guy found child porn and God only knows what else and was obligated to notify the authorities. But because 51 morons signed a statement (lie) that it was Russian disinformation, lame stream media went for it, hook, line and sinker. I feel like I’m living in Idiocracy.
The ’50 American Intelligence Officials’ who knowingly and blatantly lied about crack boy’s laptop in order to influence the outcome of the 2020 election should all be held accountable – they are treasonous cowards, who intentionally lied at the request of the WH, simply because they hate Trump. What’s to stop them or other lying, treasonous cowards from doing it again, if there are never any consequences?
On the morning of October 19th, 2020, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe categorically debunked–in public statements–the idea that the laptop was Russian disinformation. He went on to say that the active-duty intelligence community knew and accepted that the laptop was NOT Russian disinformation.
The retirees who released their signed statement later that day knew that Ratcliffe–who should know–could not lie about the laptop in public statements without risking being fired, prosecuted, and/or investigated by Congress, but those retirees DID NOT RECANT their signed statement as misleading. Thus, that signed statement was DELIBERATELY MISLEADING and the signers are liars.
I strongly suspect active-duty CIA officials recruited retirees to do the dirty work because retirees can’t be fired for making false statements. This is MALFEASANCE by active federal employees. This is election interference by a federal agency that’s required to stay out of domestic affairs BY LAW.
The following list of signers would make excellent witnesses (or codefendants) for the prosecution of those active-duty employees: James Clapper, Leon Panetta, John Brennan, Thomas Fingar, Rick Ledgett, John McLaughlin, Michael Morell, Mike Vickers, Doug Wise, Nick Rasmussen, Russ Travers, Andy Liepman, John Moseman, Larry Pfeiffer, Michael V. Hayden, Jeremy Bash, Rodney Snyder, Glenn Gerstell, David B. Buckley, Nada Bakos, Patty Brandmaier, James B. Bruce, David Cariens, Janice Cariens, Paul Kolbe, Peter Corsell, Brett Davis, Roger Zane George, Steven L. Hall, Kent Harrington, Don Hepburn, Timothy D. Kilbourn, Ron Marks, Jonna Hiestand Mendez, Emile Nakhleh, Gerald A. O’Shea, David Priess, Pam Purcilly, Marc Polymeropoulos, Chris Savos, Nick Shapiro, Stephen Slick, Cynthia Strand, Greg Tarbell, David Terry, Greg Treverton, John Tullius, David A. Vanell, Winston Wiley, and Kristin Wood. See you in court, Kristin.
We won’t forget. Lock ’em up.
And the Democrats never even investigated Ratcliffe for making false statements. No indictments. No prosecutions. No convictions.
Do you think if they suspected Ratcliffe was making false statements, they would pass up an opportunity to lawyer up another patriot? I don’t think so. They knew they were lying and didn’t want to risk it backfiring like the Mueller Investigation.
Lock ’em up.
Specific media outlets and “journalists” were also aware of Biden corruption, and Trump’s innocence. Most weren’t involved in the various schemes, many were complicit, and some others are accessories after the facts of the crime were revealed. The FBI stood silently by while the partisan media stifled the laptop story, the federal law enforcement bureaucracy leaked disinformation to reporters to further muddy up the story and supporting the narrative.
Of course the laptop is really his.
The Russians can enjoy the same freedom, quality of life, and standard of living that the Germans and Japanese enjoy if the Russians let themselves be invaded by the United States.
Yes, Japan’s defeat has given us Baby Metal and XG. Thank you, Harry Truman!
I fully expect you to be leading the charge in invading Russia. If not you, your children, or grandchildren. If you have a grandchild now, with Biden’s forever war, they will have a chance to enlist, and get sent to die. Wont that be fun?
Your loyalties are with Russia. You benefit when Russia benefits. How are you spying for the Kremlin? Are you posing as a tourist while photographing American infrastructure? Do your contacts leave bundles of cash for you in the woods in exchange for your information?
This is the problem with people like you. Your simplistic mind cannot grasp the idea that if you are against a obviously bad war policies, that makes you a Russian loyalist.
As I have stated before more than once on the good professor’s blog, but you gnat attention span cannot recall, would it be great if the Ukrainian forces could push the Russians back to pre-war boundaries?
Of course.
Again, as I have stated before more than once, the reality is this war was over before it began. Russia has the material, the logistics, the manpower to fight this war of attrition. And they are winning.
Does not matter how much money we keep throwing away, sending weapons, the Ukraine does not have the manpower to fight this war. Zelensky has now lowered the draft age to 25. He is now imposing more regulations on conscripts.
What should of happened was, the Ukraine should of taken the peace deal back in the spring of 2022. But Biden the butcher sent Borris Johnson in to squash the deal to get his forever war.
How do I benefit when Russia benefits? Your little Blue anaon conspiracy theory?
I am for Peace. For ending the war. Ending the dying. On both sides. I am for ending WWIII or nuclear war chicken. I am for stop helping our enemies with this proxy war that is weakening the US.
We notice that you are all for sending others to do the dying but wont do it yourself.
Upstate, I have read before that the draft age is 25. If true, all the young men between 18 and 25 are available for service. That is a large number. I am not a hawk, but I wonder why the conscription age is so high.
When we start sending regular troops to Ukraine, not just special forces types, the draft will be started here. The military is sucking pond water due to the social justice warrior campaign, instead of focusing on making real warriors. And Biden has sold off the reserve oil, vaccinated the majority of military personnel, is burning down food processing plants, weapons/weapons systems have all been left in Afghanistan or given to Ukraine to be sold on the black market. The cupboard is bare. Money does not kill the enemy. And Ukraine is not country most people feel they could fight for – not even the Ukrainians as the leave their country or surrender in mass to the Russian army. As a former military intelligence officer, and military training analyst we will not win a war against Russia. Is this being done purposely – makes me think perhaps it is.
S. Meyer,
As I understand it, the starting draft age was 27.
Now they have lowered it to 25.
There is something about under the age of 25 down to 18 they are reticent on.
Farmer Upthere — There are only half as many Ukrainian men aged 18–25 as in the next older cohort. A result of WW2 I believe.
David B. Benson said: “There are only half as many Ukrainian men aged 18–25 as in the next older cohort. A result of WW2 I believe.”
Do you have a pertinent link? Those 18 – 25 year olds would seem to be the grandchildren or possibly great-grandchildren of men who were of reproductive age during WWII. I may be missing something, but I’m having difficulty imagining a sensible correlation.
Number 6, I believe I read about this in The New York Times, but possibly BBC or even The Guardian.
Number 6: While I lack specific data, it’s important to note that the decline in population numbers is a multifactorial issue. However, one of the most significant factors is the persistently low fertility rates, which are the main contributors to this problem. The highest population numbers were recorded before the devastating loss of lives in WW2, and a subsequent dip in fertility rates around the year 2000 further intensified the decline in numbers.
In 2000, the fertility rate was ~1.1, with an increase and then a fall to 1.2. That indicates a dying civilization and could be a partial answer to the reluctance to draft those under 25. [I believe a fertility rate of 2.2 is needed for replacement.]
Upstate, the fight is existential to Ukraine’s sovereignty, so even though I think David is correct, they would want to use those less than 25 years of age. (I am not commenting on the merits of the war or why it never should have happened. The war is a result of Biden’s mismanagement.)
In the US military, 50% are less than 25 years of age. 70+ per cent of Marines are below the age of 25.
I am definitely pro-Russian. I like Putin, and I wish that he was our President, instead of Biden. There is no more reason to be anti-Russian, than there is to be anti-German, anti-Japanese or anti-Italian. Or even anti-Vietnamese. It is 2024, not 1965 or 1942.
Russia is simply an excuse for us to spend gazillions on Defence. All while we outsource our manufacturing to a real threat like China. But the rich folks make money off China. . .
