Report: J6 Committee Delayed Secret Service Driver From Refuting False Limo Story

Just the News is reporting that the January 6th Committee rebuffed repeated efforts from a Secret Service agent to refute the false story related by Cassidy Hutchinson alleging a violent episode with Trump in the presidential limousine during the Capitol riots. The J6 Committee staff repeatedly delayed the testimony of the agent to disprove the widely reported allegation.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk, the chairman of the House subcommittee that is investigating the Jan. 6 riot, has obtained a transcript of the driver’s interview that was conducted months after he first offered to testify.  However, it turns out that committee staff were asked repeatedly by counsel for the agent to let him present evidence debunking the claim. Despite being reported by virtually every news outlet, the Committee slow walked his appearance as the story went viral.

The transcript of the driver’s testimony contains express objections by the lawyer that his client had offered to testify in July, August and September of 2022, but was “rebuffed” by the committee.

The account reaffirms a major criticism of the committee. After Democrats refused to allow the GOP to pick its members (as a long-accepted practice in the House), the Democrats selected two anti-Trump Republicans who did little to push for a full and fair display of witnesses and facts. The Committee was chaired by Rep. Benny Thompson, a Democrat, with Rep. Liz Cheney, as Vice Chairwoman.

Cheney and the committee members clearly knew that Hutchinson’s account was debunked by the very driver who allegedly struggled with Trump. Yet, they allowed the media to report the incident for months while rebuffing the requests of the driver. Loudermilk is quoted as saying “We’re talking about the driver of the limousine, and the head of the entire protective detail. They were brought in by the select committee to testify, but they weren’t brought in until November.”

The false account was given by Hutchinson in June of that year.

The Secret Service driver testified Trump never tried to reach for or grab the wheel of the SUV.

Notably, the transcript shows Cheney trying to explain the delay as due to the need for the Secret Service to produce all documents in the January 6 investigation.

Yet, she had no problem with making the false story public through Hutchinson before such supporting material was supplied. She also did not suggest any countervailing testimony or witnesses on the issue as the media ran with the account. Instead, Cheney publicly teased the claim that they had much more evidence of crimes against Trump, which never materialized.  Cheney ended one hearing by calling for more officials to come forward and noting that Trump family members and former officials have now come forward with their own public “confessions.”

Many of us support the effort to bring greater transparency to what occurred on Jan. 6th and these hearings have offered a great deal of important new information. Indeed, it has proven gut-wrenching in the accounts of lawyers and staff trying to combat baseless theories and to protect the constitutional process.

Yet, the heavy-handed approach to framing the evidence by the Committee was both unnecessary and at times counterproductive. The strength of some of this evidence would not have been diminished by a more balanced committee or investigation.

We previously discussed the highly scripted and entirely one-sided presentation of evidence in the Committee. Indeed, witnesses were primarily used to present what Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to as “the narrative” where their prior videotaped testimony was shown and they were given narrow follow-up questions. They at times seemed more like props than witnesses — called effectively to recite prior statements between well-crafted, impactful video clips. It had the feel of a news package, which may be the result of the decision to bring in a former ABC executive to produce the hearings.

That framing led to glaring omissions. The Committee routinely edited videotapes and crafted presentations to eliminate alternative explanations or opposing viewpoints like repeatedly editing out Trump telling his supporters to go to the Capitol peacefully.

What is striking was that offering a more balanced account, including allowing the Republicans to appoint their own members (in accordance with long-standing tradition), would not have lessened much of this stunning testimony. Yet, allowing Republicans to pick their members (yes, including Rep. Jim Jordan) would have prevented allegations of a highly choreographed show trial. It would have added credibility to the process.

If the Committee had a single member with a dissenting or even skeptical viewpoint, testimony on issues like the fight in the presidential limo could have been challenged before it was thrown before the world.

That was clearly not in the interests of the J6 Committee or the media, which eagerly spread this false account.

  1. We who see the forest and the trees understand that the J6 committee was a set-up and staged when a producer was brought in to direct, stage, and use selective video clips on a stadium screen so the televised hearings could be a true piece of propaganda intended to inflame the masses or the ones who watched the hearings. By choice, Pelosi refused to seat the Republicans chosen to be members of the committee and then chose the two most radical and anti-Trump true blue RINOS. The Cheney misfit who was indoctrinated by Dick Cheney, another RINO, and the crying clown whose name I forget and don’t care to remember. Both have been featured on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, and any other propaganda outlet for the Democrats and Biden. The two chairmen were given free rein to pontificate, proliferate, and propagandize their obvious biases against Trump. The rioters who did go into the Capitol Building and even many who were outside, not engaging in anything other than demonstrating are being hunted down by the powerful agencies that seem to serve the will of the Democratic Party and Biden via the DOJ. Many according to reports from relatives are languishing in jails or prisons without being afforded the right to bail.

Democrats and the progressive element of the far left constantly cry and moan about “losing our democracy”, when in fact, they are the most egregious engaged in destroying “our democracy”. They forget that we are not a true democracy, we are a Republic that supports democracy when it comes to the individual’s rights. A true democracy would eliminate the smaller red states from ever being involved in the running of our nation and the larger blue cities and states would be our overlords and OUR rights would then be trampled into the ground and done so with a smile and disregard for the rights of anyone who is not a left to far left Democrat or progressive.

We need to stop electing weak Republicans to the House and Senate. So far, they have done nothing to actually bring to justice and forefront the ones who have truly destroyed our rights outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They do so with a smile, a wink, and self-satisfaction that under the disguise of “democracy” and protecting our rights when the truth is, they are destroying with great haste all that made this nation so great.

Turley is right and for those accusing him of being a Fox and Republican mouthpiece, you are dead wrong on all counts. If anything, Turley is the rare truth teller on the internet.

    1. “We who see the forest and the trees…”

      How laughable!

Don’t forget this – millions of people also saw it live.

  2. Remembering that I’ve openly stated that…

“The political left has shown its pattern of propaganda lies within their narratives so many times that it’s beyond me why anyone would blindly accept any narrative that the political left, their lapdog Pravda-USA media, their woke consumed bureaucracy, or their activist supporters actively push?”

I’ve thought a lot about why the political left lies the way they do and I think I’ve come up with a conclusion that might be logically supportable.

“The reason the political left lies so often MUST be because the actual truth will not support their candidates, their policies, their ideology, or their preferred narratives; otherwise, why would they choose to lie.”

When cherry picking and lying about Trump, it’s really clear that the political left believes right down to their bones that the ends justify the means. Yup folks, that’s correct, the truth doesn’t benefit the political left so they intentionally b-a-s-t-a-r-d-i-z-e it or completely flush it down the porcelain God until their planned irreversible damage has been done, this tactic is morally bankrupt.

    1. Steve,
“their planned irreversible damage has been done,”
      That right there.
The amount of damage done, the momentum of what they have done is so great, I question if it can be fixed.
If Trump wins, I doubt he can drain the swamp, it is so entrenched.
I just read that NATO is setting up “land corridors” to rapidly deploy up to 300,000 US troops, not NATO troops, to the front lines if a real, hot shooting war breaks out with Russia. Biden seems to want a war with Russia, and has the backing of not just Democrats, but some Republicans, the MIC, the Pentagon, and the State Department. Could Trump be able to stand up to all of them?

      1. “I doubt he can drain the swamp”
He didn’t even really try the first time.
Wouldn’t hold your breath this time, either.

      2. Upstate Farmer – thank you for noting the fact about NATO. This is not getting enough attention. We are being dragged into a face-to-face war with a nuclear-armed country, and there is mostly silence. All the MSM is concerned about is “getting Trump” not the threat of WW III.

        1. Edwardmahl,
I read and track on multiple issues every day. We cannot let ourselves get focused on a single issue like the leftists do.
Some are saying setting up the “land corridors” is initial preparation of the battlefield (IPB). It is the setting up the logistics train for a real shooting war. This could be the real beginning of WWIII.

        2. Edwardmahl,
One of many questions I have is how are they going to try to spin it, if a real shooting war starts? Just recently the Russia’s issued a statement that they were interested in a ceasefire. Suddenly NATO is now building “land corridors” to get US troops to the front lines ASAP?
I noted before of a Army War College essay, that stated the all volunteer fighting force may have outlived its usefulness and a partial conscription maybe required.
What is that going to look like? Relieved student debt for enlistment? There are a lot of military aged illegal aliens that Biden let into the country. Full citizen ship for them if they enlist?

        3. Edwardmahl,
Another serious question I have, is what is China going to do? Make a go at Taiwan?
Also, even if they do not commit to actual physical assistance to Russia, they could wage economic war on the US by dumping US dollars. Five years ago, China traded only 8% in cross border trade in their currency, the renminbi, the rest was in US dollars. Now, cross border trade is at 58% in renminbi. We call that de-dollarization.

Invest in chickens, PMs, ammo and your own personal health.

      3. Our senile president is waltzing us into WW3. As war tiptoes our way on kitten’s feet, we will never see it coming, because the weak shoot first.
“You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you!”

      4. US foreign policy is determined by people who understand little of foreign countries, cultures, and lack historical awareness and, often, common sense. After the collapse of the SovjetUnion there was a unique opportunity to bring Russia into the Western fault. Russia is culturally much closer to the West than people seem to realize. In stead, we alienate Russia with the expansion of NATO to their borders. As a result, Russia is now aligned with China. The Ukraine is not our war to fight and no US interests are at stake. It is, indeed, revealing that US troops should fight there and the rest of Europe will stay on the sidelines. That is the common practice, though. The contributions of European countries to the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars has been minuscule (with the exception of the Brits and Poles). French troops never left Kabul and just showed their colors. If we get involved in the Ukraine war, next China will use the opportunity to attack Taiwan. We are not able to fight 2 wars against 2 major powers. What we need is to bring peace. The conflict between Russia and roe Ukraine can be resolved and compromise is possible. Peace in the Middel East is possible as the Abraham Accords have shown (done by the Trump, not be experts of the State Dept.).

Perhaps the Dems hope that a war will bring the country together and we will all unite around the commander in chief (that happened after 9/11). Engaging in a foreign war in order to win an election is not above the Dems.

        1. DoubleDutch,
          Well said.
One of many reasons we lost Afghanistan, we did not understand the people or even try. We did not understand the history. One officer I knew said, “Nobody read Kipling.” We tried to apply democracy to a culture that is still in the 17th century.

  3. Now I understand everything completely !!!!

The driver denies the story of an altercation in the limo.

This revelation is clear and absolutely irrefutable proof that there was no riot, there were no attacks on law enforcement, nobody was injured. Jan 6 was just a peaceful rally. The people who entered the Capitol were just regular tourists on a guided tour.

    Everything makes sense now.

Thank you for clarifying this matter.

      1. I’m not sure that my comment is the stupidest of the day.

Your comment is pretty high on the list.

        1. No. You clearly won the contest, Snowflake. It is irrefutable.

    1. No. It’s irrefutable proof that the Committee members are dishonest frauds. The purpose of the Committee was not to get to the truth. It’s purpose was to manufacture an anti-Trump narrative, even if it meant ommitting “truth” until long after it mattered.

You are in the right party, that’s for sure. Your smug, snotty, sarcastic idiocy is EXACTLY what we expect from Democrats. Thanks for not disappointing.

    2. “No hay problema, el perdido!” You are welcome! You should have listened much earlier. It would have saved your parchment thin skin from getting even thinner.

  4. Typical internet exchange today:

    christoph
    @Halalcoholism

    SOME A**HOLE: genocide is good

YOU, NORMAL PERSON: f*** this douchebag

UBER-INTELLECTUAL REPLY GUY (THERE’S ALWAYS ONE): I notice you cannot debunk his claim so of course you resort to ad hominem attacks, an obvious sign of a weak mind. Try harder & this time use a proper argument

  5. The Dems’ animal representation should be changed from donkey to kangaroo.

    1. OldManFromKS,
And their flag, red with a hammer and sickle.

  6. Who in their right mind would take a course from her at U of Virginia? They should ask the University for a refund.

  7. The 1/6/2021 riot was a disgrace but the actions of the J6 committee did, in fact show the unseemly side of Washington, and the all out effort to Get Trump by any means necessary. It seemed to have escaped them that they had a great deal of truth on their side and simply casting a light on everything that occurred and letting the people decide would be enough. But they were so crazed in their efforts to go after Trump that they laid even more of a foundation for the accusations of conspiracy against Trump, which started even before his election in 2016.
By sealing the testimony behind passwords and trying to hide all of that which was said in private sessions and filtering only their side, the J6 committee gave every conspiracy theory legs to last for decades. When there is something under the rock and you sit on it and won’t let anybody else turn it over, then the assumption by 90% plus of the people would be that you are hiding something. Was Nancy Pelosi and the J6 committee so stupid that they were that ignorant of the natural response of human beings. In a divided country, that was the worst thing to do.
If they had cast a bright, clear light on those events then there may have been enough to discredit Trump and he would not be running today. But their actions almost guaranteed a future run by Trump and he may win and they may have guaranteed it.
We are not Europeans who trust the government to do the right thing. We are Americans and our genetic politics is to not trust the government. Pelosi and her co-conspirators seem to have forgotten that simple fact. That just reiterates that they have been in Washington DC too long.
There is so much CO2 in DC that people who live in the immediate area for extended periods of time are at high risk of anoxic brain injury.
For those challenged in physiology and partial pressures of gases, CO2 is not lethal in and of it’s self but it can displace oxygen enough that the levels of O2 are so low as to be injurious or lethal.

    1. I always felt the Jan 6 riot was an aberration of American patriotic behavior. But now it looks like kids play compared to what Democrats have been doing, initially secretly in 2016-2020, but now blatantly. Theirs is an outright slow motion Coup d’état as we speak

US House Republicans? Missing in action

      1. Theirs is an outright slow motion Coup d’état as we speak

Estovir, the IC, FBI, DOJ, State Department, NGO’s and their media allies have been using their statecraft to overthrow regimes around the world for decades. This is The Blob controlling who is allowed to occupy seats in our federal government as well. Had Clinton won in 2016, they would have remained behind the scenes. But they miscalculated and were forced to expose themselves to a public conditioned to believe our enemies were foreign, not domestic. I remember in the movie Fantastic Voyage, how white blood cells attacked the crew trying to save the life of the patient. That’s The Blob. The Blob was never going to sit idly by as President Trump sought policies that would improve the health of our country and weaken their control. And they aren’t going to do so now. Chuck Schumer has even warned (boasted) of their collective power. Everything going on in our country today is a manufactured color revolution that we’ve seen The Blob initiate in countries like Egypt.

          1. The Republicans look like the worst case of castrated eunuchs ever gathered under a roof, and this for little boys and young men to observe. It’s really disgusting. I was holding out hope that they would actually arrest Merrick Garland. Pffft. Merrick is likely playing on Tik Tok taking instructions from the Chinese while the Republicans are trying to find the next size up butt plug (made in China) to stick up their rectums and take turns twirling,

I find nothing redeeming in Republicans. Never have. Ronald Reagan was the last real man in political leadership.

            1. RR was the president in my lifetime but then along came Dubya. tRump said hold my bronzer, I’ve got this.

  8. It is of course false to say that the Republicans were not allowed to name people to the committee. They had fair opportunity, and named MAGAs, including people who participated in J6. That showed the Democrats they were not willing to take this seriously and Pelosi rightfully rejected those people.

    1. Sammy-your interpretation-The republicans had the right to name any of their party to the committee. Pelosi overstepped her bounds and the fix was in

      1. The House investigation into the 2020 attempted coup was a serious matter. The Republicans wanted to appoint clowns to the committee in order to disrupt and impede the investigation. Pelosi was absolutely right to reject them. If the Republicans wanted to participate honesty they would have appointed non-MAGAs and they would have been accepted.

    2. You really have zero understanding of how a Representative Democracy is supposed to work in America. The J6 hearings ended up as a show trial instead of any bona fide investigation. Yet people like you profess “absolutely no idea” how conspiracy theories could possibly arise. Essentially, you are a dummy, tool, and useful idiot. Carry on

  9. Cheney should be prosecuted and sent to jail for the disruption of this country and all her cohorts on this fake committee should all be brought before the house and question exhaustively how could they do this to this country? They were elected to protect this country and to honor the constitution and everything they did was the opposite.

  10. UpstateFarmer said: “The question I have is how does she feel now that she has been totally discredited?”
That would likely be contingent on how well she was compensated for her perjury, would it not?

  11. ” . . . a highly choreographed show trial.”
That is exactly what it was.

    1. You may have seen Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s piece in The Free Press, but if not, read it when you get a chance. Everyone on the blog who is worried sick about America should read it asap. Many of us immigrants from communist countries have been warning about it so it is good that Bari Weiss has given a platform to Ayaan Hirsi Ali to spell it out clearly. Read it. Now.

      Excerpts follow

Ayaan Hirsi Ali: We Have Been Subverted

Right now, so many Western nations are under grave threat from the twin forces of cultural Marxism and an expansionist political Islam familiar to me from my youth.

People are encountering our current crisis in different ways, though a compelling explanation, let alone a solution, remains elusive.

….I can discern at least three forces.

The first: American Marxists. This category includes old card-carrying communists, red-diaper baby socialists, antifa anarchists, and many of whom we now call woke…

The second force is the radical Islamists, who are riding the coattails of the communists to power….

The third force is the Chinese Communist Party. …

What unites these enemies? On the surface, they have little in common. We all know what happens to “Queers for Palestine” in the Palestinian territories. Or Muslims in China. We all know what CCP mandarins think of Black Lives Matter activists. Or rather, what they would think, if they deigned to do so. But they have wisely chosen the same common enemy: the West.

      1. Estovir,
Thanks for the heads up, have not had a chance to check out TFP yet.

  12. And you believe what they had to say otherwise. I think ithe whole thing was mostly lies with a very little bit of truth thrown in.

  13. The J6 Committee was our first glimpse at the new Soviet Style prosecutions that the Democrats have now perfected with the “conviction” in NYC.

Republicans need to play hardball if they ever get the levers of power again. If they don’t start playing hardball they will end up being disappeared like a Soviet or CCP official after he criticized a party leader.

    1. HullBobby,
      I agree.
We are truly living in dangerous times. The Democrat party is looking more and more like 1930s Germany, Stalinism, and Mao’s Culture Revolution. If the sane liberal Democrats dont do something, the radical leftists will push them over into totalitarianism.

  14. “Just The News”?? Hahahahaha! I’d trust Mad magazine more than that source.

    1. Just The News is light years ahead of CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, etc.

      1. Good to see you have internet in the rabbit hole in which you live.

        1. Good to see you have such a closed mind, you blindly believe whatever your betters at MSM tell you.
I also have a paid subscription to The Free Press.
I watch Sharyl Attkisson’s Full Measure.
          I read Matt Taibbi.
I am clearly much better informed than you.

        2. How does it feel to be a parrot?? Tell us todays talking points Polly!!

    2. You’ll trust whomever you’re conditioned to trust. That’s why you’re so often wrong, your brain has been subverted. Knowing it is half the battle.

    3. Wally, Just the News provides links to where the data comes from. You are one of the low-IQ folk Rush Limbaugh used to talk about. Since they know nothing, they copy whatever others tell them without thinking.

      1. “ I amone of the low-IQ folk Rush Limbaugh used to talk about” FIFY

  15. The resistance from the career politicians from outsiders gaining positions which could reveal their corruption will continue to intensify. They continue to brag about their tenure of office which has brought us to where we are today. It’s clear or should be, it’s all about power and money and money and money.

  16. “However, it turns out that committee staff were asked repeatedly by counsel for the agent to let him present evidence debunking the claim. ”
The Secret Service is in charge of ‘Keeping ‘it’ Secret’ – but Oh Man if they could talk! Say Bye-Bye to all of Them in a Hand Basket.

  17. I would truly love a fair and open to the public hearing on J6 where we can get all the information, including from the Capital police (all of them) and from the people who were actually around when Ashley Babbit was murdered. We will never get that. Congressional hearings are such jokes.

    1. J G Gordon said: “I would truly love a fair and open to the public hearing on J6 where we can get all the information”

That will NEVER happen. It would incriminate far too many Feds and Fed contractors who were involved in instigating J6. Even worse (from their POV), it would clearly demonstrate the power imbalance between the Deep State and the people in conducting the affairs of the US. It is possible that, in addition to politically ruining Trump, those DS powers intended J6 to be an exercise in allowing the protester factions to blow off some steam, so that the DS could continue its plans unimpeded, and without serious scrutiny. If so, it was obviously insufficient. I am not 100% convinced that the Trump show trial and his impending election victory are not a continuation of DS suberfuge to create effective distractions while they continue to loot and ruin the nation. The bast@rd$ sabotaging our Liberty for their own benefit take a very long view wrt strategy.

  18. J6th committee, Lead by Cheney/Thompson was simply a get Trump by the DEMS/Never Trumpers. Then they destroyed their evidence/records etc. according to reports. They did not want anyone to testify that would testify against their objective. Hutchinson story etc smells and has been disputed. Republicans and if Trump gets into office needs to dig and expose the J6th committee and provide the truth of what actually happened..

  19. Sorry JT the entire J6 committee was nothing more than a cover up and narrative machine with the sole purpose of deceiving the American people

    1. They delayed this guys testimony because it would have impugned ALL of Hutchison’s bull shit.

When a witness is found to have made a false statement, their entire testimony can (and should) be discounted.

        1. Jim22,
The question I have is how does she feel now that she has been totally discredited?

          1. Really? Same as all the others who gain fame, get to write books……who on MSNBC/CNN hasn’t been discredited and they are still getting paid?

            1. Yeah, I could care less how she “feels”. I want accountability.

          2. It won’t be on all the media. Only Conservative ones because the election is coming, and they can’t tell us the truth because they will lose worse than what they are going to lose if it comes out they were all lied to over and over again.
