San Diego State University Professor Celebrates Israeli Being Eaten by Shark

A San Diego State University professor is under fire this week after celebrating the death of a former Israeli soldier who was eaten by a shark. Chicano studies Professor Roberto Hernández joyfully reported the death and mocked the victim as others joined him in the macabre celebration.

The site College Fix reported that Professor Hernández shared an article on his personal Facebook page with the title “Former Israeli Soldier From the 8207 Battalion is Eaten by a Shark in Occupied Palestine.” Alongside the late-April post, he wrote, “Shark Oyate for the win!! #solidarity #FreePalestine.” Oyate is a term derived from the Dakota language, meaning “people” or “nation.”

Hernández then continued to mock the victim with others on the site. When someone asked if the shark was okay, Hernández responded by saying he “heard [the] shark contracted cancer.”When another said that they hoped the victim “was aware of what was happening” and that “it was tortuous [sic],” Hernández reacted by liking the comment. On his page, Hernández describes himself on Facebook as “an unapologetic anti-Zionist, AND a proud pro-Semite in that … [he supports] the Semitic Palestinian people and Semitic original Jewish peoples of Palestine.”He has held high-ranking positions at SDSU, including chairing the University Senate’s 2024-25 DEI committee as well as the search committee for the College of Arts and Letters provost search. He was also a member of the SDSU Press editorial board.

Comments on his original post were divided, with some people agreeing with him, and others calling it “despicable behavior,” especially for a professor.

Violent commentary by liberal faculty is not uncommon in higher education.

We have previously discussed professors advocating “detonating white people,” denouncing policecalling for Republicans to suffer,  strangling police officerscelebrating the death of conservativescalling for the killing of Trump supporters, supporting the murder of conservative protesters, supporting for the attempted assassination of President Trump, and other outrageous statements. One professor who declared that there is “nothing wrong” with such acts of violence as killing conservatives was actually promoted.

Postings on social media outside of school are generally protected from liability. However, that has not stopped schools from targeting conservatives who say inappropriate or controversial things on social media. Conservative North Carolina professor Dr. Mike Adams faced calls for termination for years with investigations and cancel campaigns. He repeatedly had to go to court to defend his right to continue to teach. He was then again targeted after an inflammatory tweet. He was done. Under pressure from the university, he agreed to resign with a settlement. Four years ago this month, Adams went home just days before his final day as a professor. He then committed suicide.

Political commentary on social media is generally protected speech. However, this latest controversy shows how, while purging most faculties of conservatives and libertarians, universities are hiring far-left and radical academics to teach in higher education. They, like Hernández, are given major positions in the institution and then replicate their extreme and intolerant views. Keep in mind that these individuals rarely come to universities as clandestine radicals. Faculty members hire them in full knowledge (and with full support) of their extreme views.

The discussion between Hernández and many of these commentators shows how rage gives a license to many to abandon the most fundamental notions of civility and humanity. These same individuals view themselves as great humanitarians as they strip any humanity from those they hate. They celebrate the painful deaths of those with opposing views with a righteous rage that is addictive and contagious.

Professor Hernández, like so many of his colleagues, is teaching a chilling lesson by example to his students in how to hate without hesitation or reflection. For its part, SDSU will express fleeting concern and then continue the same hiring practices that have turned higher education into a far-left academic echo chamber.

  1. Donald Trump’s national intelligence director is bumping into a similar problem faced by her predecessors — how to get and keep his attention when it pertains to important matters.

National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has been seeking help from former intel officials on how to keep Trump, who will turn 79 in June, focused on his President’s Daily Briefs (PDBs).

The report notes that Gabbard is seeking “steps she could take to tailor the briefing … to Trump’s policy interests and habits.”
The PDB is currently a written digital document with pictures, and there is a feeling that Trump is not invested with this format, one insider admitted.”The problem with Trump is that he doesn’t read. He’s on broadcast all the time.”

With that in mind, there have been suggestions about converting his briefing into a video presentation “made to look and feel like a Fox News broadcast,” according to multiple sources.
“Under that concept as it has been discussed, the national intelligence director’s office could hire a Fox News producer to produce it and one of the network’s personalities to present it. Trump, an avid Fox News viewer, could then watch the broadcast PDB whenever he wanted,” the report states before adding, “A new PDB could include not only graphics and pictures but also maps with animated representations of exploding bombs, similar to a video game, another one of the people with knowledge of the discussions said.”

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    This is hilarious.
    Exploding bombs !!!
    Video games !!!!
They are treating Trump like the man-child that he is.

    1. Ok Donny it’s time for your Saturday morning National Security Cartoon show briefing.

      1. Maybe they can hire all the Sesame Street puppeteers to perform his daily briefings for him

        1. Animated cartoon characters might hold his attention. Bugs Bunny and Wile E. Coyote, with Coyote running off a cliff repeatedly.

            1. Actually, instead of Fox they should consider hiring Pravda or RT for the presentations.

    2. Remember the great Peter Sellers movie, “Being There”.
About Chauncey Gardner, who lived his entire life working as a gardener for a wealthy man inside a walled property in DC that he never left.
He had no education at all.
All he knew was what he learned from watching television.
When his employer died he was forced out into the world and through a series of incidents comes under the care of another wealthy businessman who is also an adviser to the President.

Whenever he spoke he would say something that he had heard on TV or something about gardening. His new benefactor thinks his ridiculous comments from TV are in fact inspired analogies about political events and the state of the economy. He gets introduced to the President and many other Republican politicians who all misinterpret his banal comments as cleverly insightful political comments.
His benefactor wielded sufficient power to keep the President in power. After the benefactor dies, the Republican elite attending the funeral engage in quiet discussions to replace the President with Chauncey for the upcoming election. The movie then ends by fading out.

So Trump is basically answering the question of what would happen if Chauncey Gardner actually did become President.

      1. Fatigued, anon, by your insistence that DJT is just all bad. Was Biden good, anon? What do you want, anon. Be specific. A house with 2 cars and 2 dogs, good clean food and a beautiful spouse? What is it you want?

      2. employment – especially real jobs outside of government for americans is up.
        Inflation is down.
        disposable income is up.
        military recruitment is way up.
        People are growing in optomism.

We are slowly shifting from doom and gloom regarding the future to optimism.

It is barely more than 100 days and things have improved dramatically.

Slowly the left wing nut lawfare is being pushed aside.
SCOTUS has confirmed the president can fire whoever he wants – without cause.
SCOTUS has confirmed that TPS which was created by executive order, can be revoked by executive order.
There is a tiny legal battle going on about the due process necescary to deport illegal immigrants especially criminals. But contra the left, the courts will NOT ultimately decide that more due process than the INA requires – which is very little, because it does not require much due process to send people back to their HOMES.

SCOTUS is slowly deciding that the Presidents powers include cutting waste Fraud and abuse.

The OBBB will pass in some form. It will be less than hoped for, but it will end much of the lawfare. It will with near certainty be followed by a Bill full of additional spending cuts that can not be wedged into the budget reconcilliation process. AGain that is likely to fall short of what we need, but it is still movement in the right direction.

The dire end of the world proclamations of the left will not come about. Millions or thousands, or even anyone that can be identified will not die from Trump policies.

Things are moving too slowly – but they are moving in the right direction.

    3. In case you didn’t know this, the whole of academia has pushed in this direction (professional visual presentations), and for a long time now—visual/presentation and hands-on learning (slide shows, i.e., digital documents with pictures, story-boarding, and physcially handling items for testing and review) is foregrounded AGAINST traditional rote, via reading and writing, studying. These methods are NOT considered “cartoons.”

While following scripts was the Biden and his White House staff’s schtick, as well as the “news producer” approach [see Biden’s “red speech” production as well as the J-6 hearings production], the PDB has found its nexus with policy presentations and important information to be addressed quickly, especially for someone who squeezes into one day as much as Trump does. Gabbard is being smart and efficient in using the “visual presentation” approach.

      1. Dianna Bec

Would that be the same leftist, communist, fascist ACADEMIA that is actively trying to subvert the entire higher education system and indoctrinate our kids with extreme leftist views, including DEI, critical race theory, transgender ideology, antisemitism, etc, etc, etc.

Or you you speaking of some other different ACADEMIA.

        1. Perhaps you are talking about your alma mater, Trump University.

If that is the case, your comment makes perfect sense.

          1. Yes, speaking of the Alma Mater, in which literal Marxist indoctrination (critical theory), DEI, LGTBQ+ideology, and anti-Israel fascism exists—WITH the aid of visual presentations, as these pedagogical forms, despite the dumbing-down, are fully functional in (and useful to) the INDOCTRINATION !

        2. Yes, the very same extreme-leftist ACADEMIA that still (in theory, at least ) practices or pretends to understands form versus function, politically speaking, ways and means, if you like.

        1. OMG Did you even read it? I bet not.
It a NBC opinion piece. Notice it lacking zero facts to back up the claim…..

        2. Dustoff asked for proof.

What you linked is an article expressing a reporters views allegedly based on nebulous unidentified sources.

Atleast those who claimed that Hunter Biden’s laptop was russian disinformation signed their names to the pile of schiff.

There is no substance to your link, it is ruminations of some reporter.

We do not trust you without credible sources.
We do not trust the MSM without credible sources.

Left wing nuts citing other left wing nuts making unsubstantiated claims is completely meaningless.

        3. Dustoff is correct. That is a NBC OPINION piece. It is not factual but opinion. Do you try to be that dumb or does it just come naturally to you?

    4. You presume that the PDB is actually important.

During his first term Trump did not trust the intelligence aparatus – for good reason, they were shilling nonsense like Putin favored Trump and they were out to get him.

Trump’s source fo rintelligence was private intelligence sources – of which today there are many excellent ones. In fact private intelligence has a better track record in the 21st century than the CIA and NSA – they as an example were way ahead of the US intelligence aparatus in assessing Iran and North Koreas nuclear and ICBM capabilities.

This term appears to be different – not just in intelligence but accross the board.

Trump owns the GOP today. All the best of the best within the GOP are working for him, and also working for their own future. Whether it is the Vance’s, Noem’s, and Rubio’s – or possibly even Gabbard – likely contenders for the next Republican president or those competing for bigger roles in the future GOP, Trump has a Republican Dream Team. People he can delegate responsibility to whose personal future intersts are aligned with his.

Numerous left wing nuts claim Trump is losing it – though the evidence shows differently.
But the FACT is that Though Trump is the president, and sets the agenda – and agenda that the american people voted for, and that the people he has put in place are mostly fully behind, unlike the first Trump administration everything meaningful is NOT coming out of the White House today.

Trump does not need the PDB. He has what he needs – people he can trust to deal with the details.

Whatever Gabbard may or may not have said – and who trusts sources on the left these days.
The PDB is not and should not be Gabards focus. Managing US intelligence is.

I would further note that most americans with a brain know where the threats tot he US are today. We may not know the day China decides to invade Taiwan, but we know it is a serious concern. Absent China actively building towards and imminent invasion Trump does not need to know what has changed since yesterday regarding China.

I would further note that the Role Trump has delegated to himself, involves direct negotiations with world leaders. It involves closing the deal. The information on those things flows FROM the WH to the intelligence community, not the other way arround.

    5. More left wing nut collusion delusion nonsense.

Unsourced made up nonsense from left wing nut media.

Can you identify anything on the recordd to confirm establish this is not just something a reporter made up ? Or some on the out neocon not even in this administration is saying to the press ?

Do you understand that people KNOW that you lie constantly,
and absent rock solid proof they are not going to beleive you.

  2. My wife was doing a Master’s program through Middlebury at one time and she had a professor exactly like this down to the toenails; back, then (ten years ago) he was actually let go due to many complaints from many people. Today someone like that is celebrated.

All of the madness of the modern left was in motion for some time, sure, but it all culminated FAST, likely partly, though not entirely, generationally. Their ability to dehumanize others, and at this point even dismiss cruelty against animals (medical testing, among other things) and nature (chopping down old growth forests to build solar farms, or installing giant turbines in the ocean) never cease to make me gasp. This is not a sane or trustworthy group of people, and they have no ground to stand on having so thoroughly abandoned their supposed former ‘ideals’.

  3. Chicano studies must/will be terminated.

Clownshow Roberto Hernández must/will be removed and deported.

Why in the —- would chicano, mexican or any other foreign “studies” be “taught” in the United States of America?

The American Founders denied them all admission to become citizens, and, incidentally, that legislation was never legally abrogated.

The immigration law of the American Founders expressed their intent clearly in the Naturalization Acts of 1790, 1795, 1798, and 1802 (four iterations for maximal clarity).

The Founders did state, clearly and emphatically:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union…Secure the Blessings of Liberty to OURSELVES and OUR POSTERITY.”

    Look around you.

    1. *. Well, anon, the idea is that they have a grievance and have assembled (not so peacefully) and via speech and print are voicing their platform. In this case hernandez identifies with the Palestinians as the colonials(Jewish palestinians) have taken their land. Hernandez doesn’t want borders and believes he’s taking back his land that Spain acquired and sold to the United States. When Spain lost interest in Mexico it sold its land in North America except where Mexicans were known as Mexico.

      Meh…

  4. But Turley is such a good Voltarian that he will support and defend the professor’s right to have such a celebration, right?

  5. Jonathan: There is someone else who demonstrates every day he has not even “the most fundamental notions of civility and humanity”. It’s DJT.

DJT continues to call Joe Biden “scum”. DJT was asked at his presser on Friday about Biden’s recent state-4 prostrate cancer diagnosis. DJT responded: “If you feel sorry for him, don’t feel so sorry because he’s vicious”. DJT has a long list of personal grudges. He still resents the fact he lost to Biden fair and square in the 2020 election. He never forgets or forgives. Forgiveness is what makes us human. DJT lacks the gene for human forgiveness!

    1. I do feel sorry for Biden and have for a long time.
I am more aligned with the camp that feels that his presidency was elder abuse.

That said Trump’s remarks abotu Biden are correct.

He has always been mentally deficient, he has always had an axe to grind, he has always abused power.

There is some debate as to the extent to which Biden was aware of the vicious and unconstitutional things being done in his name, but not much debate that had he not been non-compis mentis he would have been four square behind them.

Trump did NOT go after Obama in his first term.
Despite campaign rhetoric – he did not go after Hillary.
Trump did not go after Obama or Clinton staff, or advisors.
In both cases there was much to go after.

Instead Obama holdovers inside the executive went after Trump, and neocons aided and abetted or turned a blind eye.
During the Biden administration we NOPW have confirmation that the reason the Biden campaign was not concerrned about Biden’s deteriorating mental condition was because they did not expect to have to get through a campaign. They expected the same basement campaign they ran in 2020. They expected that the strategy they orchestrated from the WH of criminally prosecuting Trump would determine the race, that Biden would never have to debate, and rarely appear before the press.

But their strategy of victory by abuse of power failed.
They did not “get Trump” – if anything they made him stronger.
They did sort of “get” some of his associated – but those prosecutions stunk to high heaven,.

All that the legal weaponization of govenrment accomplished was to empower Trump to clean house, and Trump’s appointments to go after those who unconstitutionally weaponized Govenrment – often as in Gabbard’s case specifically against them.

Yes Biden is scum – as are most of those arround him.
Hopefully all will be punished. But ultimately even where there are consequences none will get the consequences they deserve.

It is not just Biden that is repugnant, it is the entire left.
That is why Trump’s approval is 53 and democrats is 26.

    2. We are not obligated to be civil to those who themselves are not civil.

Biden and those on the left are entitled to no better treatment from trump and the republicans now in power than they gave to republicans when they had power.

I would suggest reading Matthew 18:21-35.

Those of you on the left received compassion from Trump when he was president.
When you gained power you had no compassion for your political enemies.
Now you are facing justice at the hands of those you denied justice.

You are receiving justice in kind.

“DJT has a long list of personal grudges. ”
Correct, he and a very large number of Republicans are paying those on the left back in kind for what was done to them. Is that a grudge – certainly. It is also justice.

You can not expect mercy from those you showed no mercy,
You can expect harsh justice from those you did not give justice.

      Your not entitled to forgiveness.
You are fortunate that Trump and his administration are NOT as evil and vidictive as you and yours are.

You will NOT get the full measure of justice you deserve.

I have a little sympathy for Biden, at the same time – much of even his health woes he or those arround him brought upon him.

Biden was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate over a decade ago. You do not get to stage 4 prostate cancer overnight. Prostate cancer does not move this fast.
Agressive prostate cancer does not move this fast.

I had an enlarged prostate 2 years ago. I had surgey, and I am STILL tested agressively every 6 months.

Had Biden gotten the medical treatment that most every male over the age of 65 gets he would not be facing a likely terminal diagnosis now.

I can only speculate how this came about – except that with absolute certainty it did not come about from competent medical care.

My guess and that of many others is that Biden was NOT getting the standard medical examination that a man of his age would receive – because any decent medical exam would result in diagnosis that would harm his ability to remain in power.

I do not think Biden was competent enough to be held acountable for his own care.
But those arround him are responsible.

      1. “Had Biden gotten the medical treatment that most every male over the age of 65 gets he would not be facing a likely terminal diagnosis now.”

John, I don’t trust anything coming from that administration either, but we need to stay grounded in facts. I suggest everyone review the prostate screening guidelines from the major medical societies, especially the urologists. We all need a clearer understanding of prostate cancer, which becomes nearly endemic with age.

  6. The Middle East situation is so complex, it will be amazing if peace every comes. While one can support Israel’s actions to the original attack, how does one justify the West Bank settlements that fuel the Palestinian’s distrust of Israel. Many moderate Jews are (or were) against these settlements but now these settlements are under the radar because of Gaza and the Hamas attack. The stakes are high but if one inch of land in Gaza is taken over by Israel, the hate will explode and people will be less sympathetic to Israel’s war and view it as a land grab under the guise of getting Hamas. There is so much at stake with so much hate on both sides. I see no lasting peace unless God Almighty negotiates a deal!

    1. Hamasidols were not first, just the latest, and their proud celebration in parades of murder, torture, abduction, and other criminal enterprises has denied both Israelis and others a peaceful coexistence.

    2. “The Middle East situation is so complex”

The situation isn’t as complex as you pretend; it just requires some basic historical understanding. I have no issue standing firm with Israel and the land of the Jews under the British Mandate. You seem worried that Hamas will hate Jews more if Israel defends itself. Hamas already wants to kill the Jews, so that must mean you are afraid Israeli actions will make them want to kill Jews twice. Dead once or twice; there is no difference. It is better to defend oneself instead of waiting for death.

Funny! I don’t hear you ranting about Jordan’s right to exist, even though it was carved from the same Mandate. But when it comes to Israel, suddenly, it’s a crisis. So why don’t you explain why Israel shouldn’t defend itself or exercise sovereignty? You can’t. Do you have a personal animus towards the Jews?

      1. While I think Israel’s historical claim is compelling – it really does not matter.

The situation in the mideast is not that complex.

Absent Iran nuking Israel, Israel is not leaving. And time is NOT on the Palestinians side.

Trump’s comments about how fantastic Gaza could be and that the US might take it over, are not to be taken litterally, but seriously.

The point was the Palestinians have no one to blame but themselves for their own poverty.
They do NOT need billions in aide from other arab nations – much of which gets turned into weapons that create problems that the arab nations funding the palestinians do not want.

Peace in the mideast will come when other Araba nations demand it. When they pressure the palestinians. That may not occur publicly, but it is already starting to occur.

The deal the palestinians will get diminishes with time.

They should have chosen peace in 2000. Now they will get less.
In a few years less still.

    3. Peace will come as Palestinians generally and Hamas more specifically lose the support of other mideastern nations.

Saudi Arabia and many other gulf nations want relations with Israel – they NEED relations with Israel, because Israel is the pre-eminent military power and non-oil economic power in the mideast. Much of the mideast needs Israel to neutralize Iran.

The US role in the mideast is declining. The mideast is just not in the US interests anymore.
We do not need mideastern oil. With each year we distance ourselves a bit further.

Either Israel or Europe must fill that void. Whatever problems most arab leaders have with Israel they both respect the Israeli’s and need them.

      No one needs the Palesitinians.
The Palestinians today are a multibillion dollar drain on other Arab nations.

Peace in the mideast is likely when the other arab nations pressure the Palestinians or turn their back on them.
That was not possible 20 years ago. It is more possible with each year.

  7. Its interesting how Turley can attract the dregs, aka conservatives, of America by posting this garbage. And watch them scream for liberal blood.

    1. Human rites are a religious practice in progressive sects prosecuted with liberal license to abort, sequester “burdens” in sanctuary states.

    2. The real dregs of society are the dregs like the professor who celebrated the demise of that person from a shark attack. Just like the dregs of society who celebrate the murder of those two young people who worked at the Israeli embassy in DC. Those are the real dregs.

    3. It’s the leeches and parasites who are after blood, aka Other People’s Money (OPM).

    4. People are not after left wing blood – a liberal is someone who prizes liberty – Turley is a liberal, Derschowitz is a liberal. The democratic party today is not.

People are after justice and accountability.

Yes, we hold a “grudge” against you – for your efforts to damage and destroy the country.
You are being politically held accountable through elections.
That is the appropriate consequence for political disagreement.
But abuse of power requires more significant consequences.
Hopefully all those involved in abuse of power will lose the power they abused.
Some of that abuse was criminal. Some of that was egregiously criminal.
Some – unfortunately not all of the criminal abuses of power will be punished.
Unlike what YOU did, the sentences meeted out will be more mild than you deserve.
But there is going to be SOME justice.

Seeking just consequences is not seeking blood – except where YOU actually took the blood of others.

  8. Isn’t part of t he problem that we have “Chicano studies.” What are we studying? There is no such country. It is merely a small part of our country that uses Spanish as its first language. In other words, it is purely identity politics. Someone who “teaches” identity politics is likely to demonize a large part of humanity.

    1. Victimhood has poor consequences…it’s sociology of a subgroup within a culture. Chicano is a made up word for the subgroup as a made up subgroup within an alien, hostile culture. Documentation of such isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Mr. Hernandez is ill on the otherhand possibly from failed assimilation.

      My lay and common opinion…

    2. Chicano Studies is a veritable hotbed of introducing victim-mentality, igniting historical rage, and inspiring anti-Americanism: Past history is used to call-back atrocities (awaken and inspire ethnic grievances); critical theory is used to dislodge traditions and allegiance, while classroom discussion and argument papers are used to foreground support ethnic rage, using Marxist ideology. It’s a formula. And never underestimate the power of a popular professor to indoctrinate and radicalize young, inexperienced, minds—I suspect Hernandez is one of these.

  9. Truly disgusting and shows that compassion for a human life only exists within a warped prism. More evidence of hate and bias.

  10. As a proud San Diego State University alumni I can say the absolute, 100% most pathetic and worst class I ever took at State was “Women’s Studies”. The teacher was a far left, radical feminist that hated men, and her hatred beamed through her soul and being with every single lecture she gave. Men were the cause of virtually every ill in America and the world 🌎. She was absolutely disgusting 🤮🤮🤮. And as a quote “cross-cultural” class, it was a requirement. You had to have at least one “cross-cultural” class to graduate. I never wanted to take that stupid class. I was going to take Greek Mythology which would have been awesome, and then my stupid friend talked me into taking that trash class with him, and then that loser dropped out at the very last minute , but it was too late to switch over to the Greek Mythology class, too late for me to drop it 😭😭😭and I had to take it to graduate….I was so pissed off🤬🤬🤬🤬 Wanted to kill my buddy… It did teach me something, it taught me that there’s a lot of bias, and a lot of hate that is sanctioned by the state. SDSU and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo are the crown jewels of the State University system, those two schools are actually harder to get into than almost all the UC schools except Berkeley and Los Angeles.

    1. Wonder if I could teach a semester of men’s studies? I’d bring in professor Al Bundy as an associate professor. That should give these lefty witches something to crow about.

      1. Yes, a new approach is needed, and now, more than ever, a “men’s studies” track can be timely and profitable, seriously….However, with women increasingly running the show (running academia), and feminist-men pandering to them, there is little chance for this kind of “academic freedom.”

  11. This is so disgusting!! I can’t believe there are educators and students who truly are so cruel. How would they feel if this happened to someone in their family? All the hate has to stop!

  12. The men in the white used to come and put people like that in a straitjacket and lock them up in a padded room.

We need increased funding for mental illness patients. For now, such folks have found employment as university professors. 🙂

  13. *. Vocabulary development from the article. Chicano references male Mexican Americans whose parents were born in Mexico. Groups of people are commonly bundled by languages. Chicanos are Spanish speakers as are most Latin American countries. Chicano is a specific Spanish speaking group. Chicano means Mexican in Spanish, Mexicans with American citizenship I presume. It’s part of cultural studies in anthropology I presume? Comparative cultural studies?

I’d rather have a carpenter or plumber but then they’re probably Chicanos. (Usage). My gardener is a Chicano. Contrast to Venezuelan or Columbian etc.

Does tax money pay for this? Is there a class on Polish studies? Apparently Mr. Hernandez hates Israel and speaks for all Chicanos as he professes it. He wants them all to die cruel deaths.

    Fine article…

    1. Ano

As someone who went to the colleges in San Diego. Yes they do have (Chicano’s classes)

      Nuts…

    2. ^^^^ do not conflate Chicano and Chicana. It’s gender specific. Male Mexican Americans hate Israel.

      Thank you , Professor Hernandez

      1. ^^^ upon further study, Chicano is a made up word derivation Mexicano. Does UCSD teach Kike studies or maybe Polak studies, Hillbilly studies maybe? Oh I know, Chink studies or history of the Japs?

Mr. Hernandez teaches racism and Chicano superiority. Usage: I went to college and majored in Kike studies or as Ilan Omar says- the Benjamins WeverTH that means.

    3. DEIsm (e.g. racism, sexism, ageism) is a religious philosophy that promulgates color judgments, class bigotry with bloc ideologies. #HateLovesAbortion

    4. ^^^^ a note: Mexican American is not Chicano American. These are distinct groups with Chicano American being a subgroup of Mexican American. Mexican Americans generally identify as Americans as do Greek Americans, Irish Americans, and English Americans etc being unnecessary to identify their DNA or ethnicity outside of cultural gatherings, festivities, churches, synagogues etc..

  14. Professor Hernández sounds like a real peach. If he were to be attacked by a shark, I would not celebrate his death. I would note the karma and then move on with life.

  15. Given California’s political DNA, how well will the state residents be assisted upon a catastrophic earthquake along the west coast? Surely, FEMA and the Red Cross have preliminary emergency plans.

    1. #9. You’re right about that. FEMA and the rest of the Fed, all have nice and comfy, well stocked and provisioned, underground bunkers to shelter in, all paid for by the taxpayers. As for the rest of us? Not so much,

The National Civil Defense Programs of stocking food, water, medicine, and hospital beds, ended decades ago. The government has it’s COOP, “Continuity of Operations”, wherein those deemed worthy will be directed to one of the hundreds of safe shelters where their name, not yours, is on an access list.

The taxpayers by contrast, get the taxpayer funded commercials on television warning us the next disaster is just around the corner so stock up on extra beer and pretzels, and stay tuned to the television for further information. The television of course, being the very first thing that will stop working in any National disaster of magnitude. Presumably at some point, our government hero’s will emerge all safe and sound and let the rest of us know how it turned out.

  16. The anti-semitism of the present day is horrifying. It is clear that the cruelty of the Holocaust is not being taught worldwide.

  17. Joseph Heller
    Catch 22

The novel’s protagonist, Captain John Yossarian, remarks:

“It was miraculous. It was almost no trick at all, he saw, to turn vice into virtue and slander into truth, impotence into abstinence, arrogance into humility, plunder into philanthropy, thievery into honor, blasphemy into wisdom, brutality into patriotism, and sadism into justice. Anybody could do it; it required no brains at all. It merely required no character.
