Monarchy Malarkey: Democrats Revive Claim that Democracy is Dying in the “No Kings” Protests

Below is my column in the Hill on resumption of the claims that “democracy is dying” as part of the “No Kings” protests. When this column posted, I was inundated with the usual threats and profanity. However, the emails and messages were particularly vehement this week. (One on Father’s Day explained that when a bullet is put in my head, my children would celebrate).  For self-professed champions of democracy, there is nothing more deflating and demoralizing than being told that democracy is not dying. “No Kings” is the ultimate virtue signal, but it requires a monarch to make the self-image complete. There are obviously important issues to debate and to protest. However, we can have that debate without the absurd claims that our constitutional system is failing, as claimed by many politicians and pundits.

Here is the column:

Across the nation today, thousands of protests are being organized by left-wing groups, unions, and other organizations, with chants of “No Kings, No Kings, No Kings.” The mantra is a calculated campaign to cement the notion that Donald Trump has assumed dictatorial powers.

It is a curious campaign, since every indication is that our constitutional system is operating precisely as designed.

Courts have ruled both in favor of and against the Trump administration.  Congress has held hearings and passed legislation on various issues. We have the oldest and most stable constitutional system in the history of the world. The Constitution is not only designed for times like these — it was written in a time like this.

The superficial appeal of such campaigns is evident in the triggering event that sparked the protests. The Trump administration is holding a parade to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Army — the kind of celebration that is common among our closest allies, from France to Great Britain.

Since this anniversary coincides with Trump’s birthday, it is claimed that it is nothing more than a royal birthday bash, even though Trump has been calling for such military parades since his first term.

The well-funded protests are being fueled by Democratic leaders, who are resuming their claims that citizens must either protest this weekend or accept tyranny in the United States. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D., Calif.) went so far as to declare, “If we don’t show up, Democracy dies.”

The Democrats seem to believe that the “death of democracy” theme that failed spectacularly in the last election can now rescue their party from record-low polling. In Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson (who is at 6 percent popularity with his constituents) announced, “I am counting on all of Chicago to resist in this moment.”

Even some judges appear to have picked up on the mantra. Before issuing his order to stop Trump’s use of the National Guard in Los Angeles this week, District Court Judge Charles Breyer declared in open court that Trump was another “King George.”

He then wrote an opinion that included in it many Democratic talking points — suggesting, for example, that Trump was creating disorder by calling out the National Guard to deal with disorder. Breyer further indicated that the violence in Los Angeles was relatively minor, despite potentially deadly attacks on law enforcement, arson, and looting.

Many of us have noted that there are good-faith arguments on both sides of this issue. However, since the Madison Administration, the Supreme Court has warned lower courts not to second-guess the basis for deployments. Rather than confine himself to the relative authority of the federal and state governments on ordering deployments, Judge Breyer eagerly entered the political fray on these collateral issues.

The impression is that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) had Breyer at hello.

The “No Kings” mantra is meant to implant this image in the public psyche, despite the lack of evidence that democracy is in any real danger.

It is called the illusory truth effect, whereby the repetition of a false claim can create an impression of truth. Ironically, it is a technique denounced by some of these very same critics as a common means of disinformation. They cite the effect as a justification for censorship of opposing views.

Yet, what is disinformation to some is information to others. “Democracy is dying” may be an absurdity, but it is also their advocacy — and it is protected speech, no matter how disinformative.

The danger is that these Democratic politicians are fueling the most radical and violent elements in our country with their “rage rhetoric.”

The images reinforce the “no holds barred” message.

People watch unhinged members such as Rep. LeMonica McIver (D.-N.J.)  hitting federal officers and forcing her way into federal facilities and the lessons are not lost on them.

They see Rep. Maxine Waters (R-Calif.), who has fueled the anger in prior riots, accusing California Guardsmen of coming to shoot people in Los Angeles and telling them, “You better shoot straight.”

Many are fueling the rage as a license to oppose Trump by any means. What they will not admit is that they need the rage. They like it.

That was evident in the disruption of a press conference by Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) who not only yelled at Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, but resisted efforts of security to move him into the hall. He then claimed to be a victim of authoritarianism.

The right to disrupt has never been a basis for democracy, but it is a basis for anarchy. The Democratic Party has finally embraced the philosophy of former Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.), who famously pulled the fire alarm in order to prevent a vote from happening on the House floor.

Before he was voted out of office, Bowman was shown on videotape screaming about gun control in the Capitol as his colleagues left the floor following a vote. Various Democratic members, including former House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), tried to calm Bowman. However, when Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) asked Bowman to stop yelling, Bowman shouted back: “I was screaming before you interrupted me.

These politicians and pundits will not tolerate such interruptions this weekend. Whatever unfolds, it’s Trump’s fault. There is a national rave planned, and the republic be damned.

  1. Remember this?

“This month, I spoke at an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of the Watergate scandal with some of its survivors at the National Press Club. While much of the discussion looked back at the historic clash with President Nixon, I was struck by a different question: Who actually won? From unilateral military actions to warrantless surveillance that were key parts of the basis for Nixon’s impending impeachment, the painful fact is that Barack Obama is the president that Nixon always wanted to be.”

    source: https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2013/03/25/nixon-has-won-watergate/2019443/

Mr. Turley goes on to discuss warrantless surveillance, unilateral military action, kill lists, and attacking whistle-blowers. Where were the ‘No Kings’ protests back then?

  2. Well, I missed some juicy articles from Truley’s blog this weekend. After Trump’s disastrous self-congratulatory and dead boring military parade and none of our conservative regulars here really mentioning it speaks a lot about how bad it was.

Like many more Americans I attended my first protest in my city. The No Kings protest was huge and festive, and I witnessed so many amusing signs mocking the president, and insulting the president and his cabinet members, ICE, DHS, etc. Nothing too wild and the entire thing was peaceful and at times a bit rowdy in places. Police kept their distance and didn’t antagonize the crowds with unnecessary aggression. Overall it seems the protests were far more prevalent than the military “parade.”

One consistent theme seems to be emerging about the second Trump administration. Instability, chaos, and incompetence. From the obvious anger at Republican town hall meetings to the fact that people were not attending the military parade and instead choosing to protest in massive numbers seems to spell trouble for Republicans in the midterms. There will most likely be a large upset in the House and perhaps the Senate. Overconfidence is the Republicans’ current weakness and it’s starting to show.

Trump is not doing Israel any favors by making stupid remarks against Iran. The Israelis are already viewed as the aggressors in the escalating skirmish with Iran. China could get involved since they get a lot of their oil from Iran and it seems they have a national security interest in keeping the flow from being disrupted. Interesting times.

      1. Hey Anonymous, how you doing buddy? Did you have a good weekend? I bet you did. Glad to know I still have some loyal followers. Thank you for your support.

    1. George, our resident chauffeur of The Three Democrat Stooges clown car, wants to talk to a room of people laughing and mocking him, to talk about “one consistent theme emerging”.

He claims that Trump is the consistent theme – not George, The Cheap Fake American Marxist Democrat.

And better yet! George assures us that it isn’t Iran’s Mad Mullahs that are the aggressors after almost 50 years of launching terrorist attacks on Israel and Israelis, and funding and helping to plan the October 7th butchery in Israel that their Hamas pawns pulled off.

NO, NO, NO!!!! It’s the ISRAELIS that are the actual aggressors now that they’ve decided that enough genocidal anti-Semetic terrorism and vows to kill all Jews is enough.

It’s all the Israelis fault for now obediently stretching out their necks to the Mad Mullahs to be lopped off one at a time.

This is why George also serves as one of the university ideologues of the Democrats New Hitler Youth Movement.

This is why George is still known as being a contemptible Cheap Fake American.

    2. No Kings: and did you ever go to any kind of similar event when Mashed-Potato-Head-Biden was King? No, you didn’t. Because those of us who disliked him (just as much as you dislike DJT), are not the same kind of irascible, self-imposing, groovy-riff-raff. We know how to be civilized.

Republican Town Hall Meetings: the meetings are regularly infiltrated (infested) with your tribe’s groovy-riff-raff, so you really have NO CLUE as to how repubs behave during “instability and chaos,” but I have a feeling if you go to any repub-run city, you’ll get that clue.

Stupid remarks: this is quite rich coming from one whose tribe took Mashed-Potato-Head’s Gibberish seriously, and called it Presidential, and COgent.

  3. “No Kings” is a crude meme that works for most Americans, who acquired their knowledge of the US Constitution in grade school, and their knowledge of kings from fairy tales.

In fact, the Constitution is our only king and sovereign — but we have a 3-part system of government that was specifically designed to prevent any single branch from claiming sovereignty. That is why we are now constantly in court over Trump’s alleged excesses — some of which truly are excessive — relying upon judicial determinations to promote correctives where needed.

We didn’t secede from the UK because we were unhappy with the purely figurehead monarch who had held virtually no power since the Glorious Revolution of the 1680’s. We were unhappy with a system in which a supreme Parliament was the Sovereign — a system in which we had no voice at all. And in one of history’s ironies seldom explained in any school, Oliver Cromwell refused the title of King for the same reason that George Washington later allegedly did — because it had too little power.

We have only one alternative to a republican form of government — rejection of the Constitution in favor of a Roman-style imperial dictatorship that will end violently and shatter the country.

  4. Democracy isn’t dying; Democrat-cy is dying or rather is in the process of killing itself.

    1. The democratic/dictatorial duality selfie-aborts as a nonviable sociopolitical construct in an irreconcilable struggle between majority rulers (“kings” and “queens”) and minority rights in a society plagued by Diversity (e.g. racism, sexism, albinophobia, abortive ideation) religious (i.e. behavioral) beliefs under the DEI (i.e. systemic, institutional) umbrella, an ancient incorporation.

  5. FBI gives Congress intel on alleged Chinese plot to create fake mail-in ballots in 2020

FBI Director Kash Patel on Monday evening turned over to Congress an intelligence report raising concerns that China had mass produced fake US driver’s licenses to carry out a scheme to hijack the 2020 election with fake mail-in ballots for Joe Biden.

The newly declassified intelligence reports from August 2020 weren’t corroborated or fully investigated and instead were recalled from intelligence agencies around the time that then-FBI Director Chris Wray testified there were no known plots of foreign interference ahead of the 2020 election in which Biden defeated Donald Trump, officials told Just the News.

The new documents were turned over to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, who had first raised concerns to the bureau that the intelligence hadn’t been fully vetted, and instead was just dismissed even though there was evidence of the fake licenses.

“Thanks to the oversight work and partnership of Chairman Grassley, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency at the people’s Bureau,” Patel told Just the News in a statement. “To that end, we have located documents Chairman Grassley requested, which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election.

“Specifically, these include allegations of plans from the CCP to manufacture fake driver’s licenses and ship them into the United States for the purpose of facilitating fraudulent mail in ballots – allegations which, while substantiated, were abruptly recalled and never disclosed to the public,” Patel added. “In accordance with Chairman Grassley’s request for documents, I have immediately declassified the material and turned the document over to the Chairman for further review.”

Officials who have seen the documents told Just the News the FBI had a relatively new confidential source who provided information in summer 2020 that the Chinese government was manufacturing and exporting fake US driver’s licenses as part of a plot to create voter identities for Chinese residents living in the United States so they could vote with fake mail-in ballots.

The intelligence source claimed the plot was specifically designed to benefit Joe Biden, officials said.

Officials said the intelligence report was recalled within a few weeks and the allegations never fully investigated, on the grounds that the source needed to be re-interviewed.

But in fact another agency, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, had intercepted nearly 20,000 fake licenses around the time the intelligence came in a possible corroboration of the report, officials said.

    1. It’s just “coincidence,” no doubt, that the Biden family was in China’s back pocket, while Trump was not.

    2. If this story is true, which it is not, why isn’t Patel out there investigating ??
Why isn’t he arresting and indicting people ???
If there was any real investigation going on, why would Patel make this public ???
The essence of a good investigation is secrecy.
      This story is completely bogus.
The fact that Patel is turning over this stuff to the Senate instead of investigating, is evidence that this is a purely political stunt.

If, as you claim, Patel is saying that these allegations were not fully investigated by the Biden administration, then why is he not conducting a “full investigation”, but rather turning over the material to the Senate.

      The answer is obvious.
      There is nothing to investigate.
      It is completely bogus.

If there really is any basis to this story, then the best move by Patel would be to conduct the investigation that supposedly was so lacking under Biden.
That way he could make a big show of arresting people and showing the evidence of this alleged plot.
But he is not doing this, because there is nothing to investigate.

      1. “If this story is true, which it is not, why isn’t Patel out there investigating ??”
        Who says he isn’t ?

“Why isn’t he arresting and indicting people ???”
Who is he going to arrest Xi ?

“If there was any real investigation going on, why would Patel make this public ???
The essence of a good investigation is secrecy.”
The J6 investigations were so secret that the defendants were not even allowed to see the video of their alleged crimes.
It is 2025 these alleged crimes were committed in 2020. It is likely the statute of limitations has expired.

Regardless, you are not going to prosecute people in Chin.

        “This story is completely bogus.”
        Because you say so ?

It is just one of many many many 2020 election fraud allegations
With near certainty many will prove false.
With near certainty some are true.

Those of you on the left STUPIDLY tried to claim the 2020 election was perfect.
The Courts stupidly put blinders on and refused to hold hearings and examine the evidence.

There is fraud in every election – pretending there is not is just moronically stupid.
The question is NOT was there fraud – it is was there enough to alter the outcome.

There was lots of evidence of fraud in the Newsom Recall election. There was no effort to challenge the eleciton and expose the fraud because Newsome avoided recall by a far larger margin that any possible fraud.

In 2018 the election of a GOP congressmen was tossed because it was alleged that a company hired by that candidate engaged in ballot harvesting.
Ballot Harvesting is illegal in every state EXCPT California.
In 2020 there was MASSIVE ballot harvesting.
The same courts that tossed the election of a GOP congresssmen in 2018 or a Rhode Island Mayor over ballot harvesting in 2022 turned a blind eye to massive ballot harvesting in 2020.
Nor was this illegal ballot harvesting done secretly. The ime article on How Democrats defeated Trump
credits ballot harvesting operations as one of the important tools that lead to victory.
We have election laws for a reason – primarly to make fraud that occured in the past difficult.
It is impossible to prevent fraud – but if elections are conducted following most states election laws – which pretty much never happens – any fraud that occurs is likely to be detected.

If you want election results that you can trust, you MUST conduct elections transparently, you MUST conduct them as if fraud it highly likely and a serious problem.
If you do that – then fraud will actually be rare and usually caught.
If you do not fraud will likely be commonplace and rarely if ever caught.

Are Patels allegations true – with near certainty.
Did they alter the outcome of the election – probably not.
But this is one of many allegations that were lied about and buried.

Those of you on the left seem to be under the delusion that you create trust by denying things, thwarting investigation and hiding things.
Trust is built from openness transparency and scruptiny.

“The fact that Patel is turning over this stuff to the Senate instead of investigating”
I’l bet Patel can walk and chew gum.

Is this political ? Of course.
That is not relevant. What matters is whether there was a coverup – and clearly there was.

“If, as you claim, Patel is saying that these allegations were not fully investigated by the Biden administration, then why is he not conducting a “full investigation”, but rather turning over the material to the Senate.
I know it is difficult for left wing nuts – but TWO things can be true at once.

        “The answer is obvious.
        There is nothing to investigate.
        It is completely bogus.”
Then why are you so upset ?
Let the sunlight in and the truth will likely come to light whatever the truth is.

You presume the FBI is not investigating, Because the FBI is sharing information with the Senate ?

      2. FBI gives Congress intel on alleged Chinese plot to create fake mail-in ballots in 2020

  6. The party that anoints its presidential candidate instead of allowing the people to vote for her, the party that denigrates the US Army which is the only reason we don’t have kings, the party that flies foreign flags over the American cities it burns down, the party that wants the opposition candidate to be assassinated instead of letting him be the subject of a free and fair election, is supposed to be in favor of “democracy”? What a joke. The Dem party is the most anti-democratic party in American history.

    1. The Trumptards lie about EVERYTHING. They lie and say Trump didn’t have sex with Stormy Daniels. They lie and say Trump and Epstein were not good friends. They lie and say Trump has a health care plan. They lie about Obama not being born in Hawaii. Now they are lying about Trump not being a warmonger as we are now prepared to go to war with Iran. Trump was about to bankrupt us with his retarded tariff schemes. I guess he decided to just slam dunk it by war in the Middle East. This time, there will be no NATO allies joining. It’s the United States spending money it doesn’t have because Donald Trump is complete moron.

      1. “They lie and say Trump didn’t have sex with Stormy Daniels.”
Having listened to Daniels testimony I do not beleive that he did.
That said it is still none of your business.

I am not sure why people who think that perving kindergarteners is a good thing, think that straight consensual sex is bad.

“They lie and say Trump and Epstein were not good friends.”

Do you honestly think that if there was evidence tying Trump to Epstein that Biden would not have made it public ?

“They lie and say Trump has a health care plan.”
        Get govenrment out of healthcare.
Everything that government touches becomes more expensive.

“Now they are lying about Trump not being a warmonger as we are now prepared to go to war with Iran.”
I expect that Iran will agree to end their nuclear program without the need for US intervention.

If they do not we have three choices:
Sit back as Israel pounds Iran.
Tolerate a nuclear Iran and pray nothing bad happens.
Destroy the nuclear facilities ourself – because we can and Israel can’t.

Wishful thinking does not create better choices.

“Trump was about to bankrupt us with his retarded tariff schemes.”
Are all the other nations in the world with Tariffs going bankrupt ?
This is just a stupid claim.

“I guess he decided to just slam dunk it by war in the Middle East.”
        Whatever does this mean ?
Even Israel does not want this war.
They just want an Iran with Nukes even less.

“This time, there will be no NATO allies joining.”
There are several likely outcomes in the short run.

The Iranian regime collapses – many are saying that is happening.
I think that is wishful thinking.

Iran negotiates and we return to peace without a nuclear Iran.

The US sends in the B2’s currently in Diego Garcia to take out the deep nuclear fascilities that Israel can not reach.

The last is the least desirable.
But all three are better than anything previous.

“It’s the United States spending money it doesn’t have because Donald Trump is complete moron.”
This is not Ukraine – we are not “giving” Israel anything – they have been building the stockpile of weapons they are using for decades – even under Biden.
        And they PAY FOR THEM.

        1. The war should not end until all the underground facilities are completely destroyed from the inside or the outside. The war is prolonged with more deaths as long as Iran holds onto these facilities intact. If they are not destroyed, there will be another war in the future.

    2. What war has Trump “given us”? None, bozo. And he’s “given us” many trade deals (in your moronic lingo).

    3. Some of us can count.
Numerous Trade deals have already occured,
China and the UK have deals in place for many things, and others are still being negotiated.

The US is NOT at war with anyone. The US has not started a war with anyone.

There is a War between Ukraine and Russia that started under Biden that had stupidity of the Biden admin as SEVERAl major factors causing that war.
The ONLY thing that has changed since 1/21/2025 is that there is an effort to negotiate peace.

Israel has been at war in Gaza and with Hezbolla and with Iran since Oct 7, 2023.
The only thing that has changed since 1/21/2025 is that there are efforts to bring about a peace deal.

What war has Trump started ?
What war is Trump not seeking to end ?

      1. “ Some of us can count.
Numerous Trade deals have already occured,
China and the UK have deals in place for many things, and others are still being negotiated.”

ROLF! What Trade deals. The UK trade deal is a joke. What did we gain from it? China? Trump has lied about negotiating with China so much that anything he claims is suspect. You know Trump is lying when these supposed trade deals are devoid of any details.

“ What war has Trump started ?”

The Israel Iran war. He blessed the Israeli plan right in the middle of sensitive negotiations. He’s already involved the U.S. By engaging in shooting down Iranian missles after Israel attacked Iran unprovoked. Nobody is buying Israel’s excuses and it is only a matter of time before we get dragged in.

Trump cannot negotiate, he’s a moron and everyone knows it. This is why he’s been rolled over so many times by other nations and why he earned the TACO nickname. When things get difficult he waffles and reverses himself whenever he starts to look really bad in front of his supporters.

        1. “. . . in the middle of sensitive negotiations.”

You’re either ignorant or are lying. (I’m guessing the latter.)

The dictatorship of Iran was given 60 days to negotiate a deal. It refused. That deadline passed. It’s now suffering the consequences.

          1. It didn’t refuse, They were negotiating. The problem is Trump’s envoy is an idiot who has no idea what he’s doing.

Trump has no patience for complicated negotiations because all he wants is quick easy ‘deals’ that he can use to brag about and take credit for. We already had a deal with Iran and it was a good one. But Trump wanting to get all the glory stupidly broke the deal and sought to make one of his own. Fat lot that did. Everything Trump “negotiates” turns to crap or becomes a TACO deal. That is more consistent than his ability to understand why these deals are hard.

            1. There is no such thing as a deal with a dictatorship, which Iran is, that is “a good one.”

That which makes such a deal necessary, is what makes it impossible.

    1. You don’t suppose the Founders assimilated perspectives like this when conducting a kinetic political revolution and establishing a new and free nation of self-governance, do you?

      Not for one split second.

    2. *. She’s disconnected from reality. She’s harmless but Mr. Boelter was not harmless. He was disconnected from reality living a psychic break. The msm did this.

  7. *. I’m impressed by the long range planning being done by calendar dates. The no kings malarkey looks spontaneous but it may be planned in advance as a festivity for DJT birthday as was trans visibility day scheduled for Easter. Who’s orchestrating this disruption?

As to deporting undocumented people, these are people who’ve now admitted their bitterness and have expressed how much they’ve hated their jobs and Americans. They’ve expressed their views of doing jobs Americans won’t do like wiping your a#ses, someone pointed out.

DJT now changes and farmers and hotel , restaurants are set aside rather than follow laws? That’s an outrage. Change your diets. Eat foods only that are mechanized operations if farmers can’t follow the law. Don’t stay in hotels or eat in restaurants because the law is the law.

You’ve worked in bitterness so go home. You need the workers? No, go bankrupt because the people won’t eat your food but worst of all things is the corruption of elections by skewing the census for representation.

You’ll need a sustainable plan for food so I’d suggest getting your best engineers working on mechanized production and no one works in bitterness. In the mean time you’ll need to import foods and if you aren’t organized to do that you can starve.

These protesters and judges and teachers are pawns and have been used and dumped as people are leaving the democrat dead party and Karine and Weingarten scout new jobs.

The question is by whom are these people being used.

    1. ^^^ I’m done. Do have fun in this fine nation of muderers. Good God, this modern of Hortman and they’re democrats.
      Gbye

    2. ^^^^ The point is: are farm workers less illegal than other illegals, DJT? You, DJT, filed a suit about a census question so don’t act innocent.

Bet there’ll be a yuge rush to farm labor, huh? Be sure you document it.

    2. You’ve been wealthy and famous since your early 20s. I didn’t become well known until I was well over 30.

    3. I’ve never been given 15 months for handcuffing a man to a wall and beating him with a chain.

    4. I believe in freedom of speech and belief.

For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person. Some of those years were spent in poverty. That’s why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who’re reliant on state-funded services. That’s why I understand why mixed public changing rooms are a problem for women. That’s why I have a problem with men ‘identifying’ into women’s rape crisis centres, domestic abuse and homeless shelters that are supposed to be single-sex. I don’t stand against gender identity ideology because I personally still need those services, but because my life has taught me exactly how vulnerable women are when they don’t have the money/influence I have now.

You yourself have been convicted of violent assault. The overwhelming number of people who commit crimes of violence are male, just like you. That’s why I don’t want to see men identifying into women’s prison cells or any of the spaces mentioned above. Not all men are violent or predatory, but enough are to make safeguarding necessary.

Lastly, I’m a writer who believes in freedom of speech and belief. As we both know, the safe, fashionable thing in the arts world right now is to do exactly what you’re doing: parrot TWAW and sneer at the unenlightened plebs who think sex is important and matters. For a man who was once all about non-conformity, George, you couldn’t have become more predictably or more tediously conformist.

Now you know why Mossad took down the Twin Towers with controlled demolition on 9/11.

    To bring the U.S. in.

    Take down Iraq.

    Clean out Afghanistan.

    Convert Syria.

    And finally eviscerate Iran.

By conducting 9/11, Mossad scrubbed up the entire region in one fell swoop.

    Well played, Israel, well played.

National Elevator Cab and Door Corporation refurbished the elevator cabs in the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers (1 and 2) prior to the September 11 attacks. In 1991, they were contracted by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to remodel nearly 200 elevator cabs in Buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, as well as those serving the Vista Hotel (WTC3).

The company handled all aspects of the project, from design and manufacturing to installation within the existing elevator shells. They considered each cab a 5-by-6-foot room and ensured every detail was meticulously crafted.

Randi Weingarten is the personification of Karl Marx, a wild, radical activist; an anti-Constitution, anti-American communist zealot; and anathema to the United States of America.

Randi Weingarten is the leader of a criminal enterprise, a union, that illegally imposes unconstitutional “collective bargaining.”

Randi Weingarten is a direct and mortal enemy of the American thesis, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Americans, and America.

Randi Weingarten is teaching children not to be independent and ambitious people engaged in competitive free enterprise but ardent collectivists enslaved by the state.

American owners of private property free enterprises enjoy the absolute 5th Amendment right to “claim and exercise” dominion.

Labor laws, unions, collective bargaining, etc., are unconstitutional bias and unconstitutional communism.

Randi Weingarten and communism must be eradicated from the nation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

    1. *. Unions are an addition to capitalism, free markets. Before unions were guilds. Guilds kept their skills to themselves and actually initiated new members. It gave their work value because no one else could cut marble for instance.

If there weren’t unions children would be working and there’d be no 8 hour workday everyone uses now. You’d work 16 hours perday and for pennies as is done in 3rd worlds. Unions should be political but economic entities.

It’s true. People hate the advances unions have provided. Chiquita bananas are grown in Panama. Big, beautiful, yellow bananas. The workers are on strike so your bananas may be a little sour and not so robust.

The US hates unions so the capitalists went offshore. Imports? Tariffs?

      1. The very definition of union is criminal trespass, criminal harassment, bodily injury and property damage.

  11. “There were some very, very relieved people in the Gulf as the sun rose this morning…. The Saudis know that China had armed their enemy Iran . . . and fully backed the Houthis, who have been waging war on the Kingdom for years.” — Jonathan Bass, Chief Executive Officer, Argent LNG.

“The Chinese state is only as strong as its main energy provider, and that main energy provider, which so far has not been able to counter Israeli strikes, is unlikely to survive this war in its current form.” — Brandon Weichert, author of The Shadow War: Iran’s Quest for Supremacy.

“With the loss of Syria and Hezbollah, Iran no longer has a command and control center in Damascus, only a two hour drive from Beirut. That means China can no longer manipulate events there.” — Jonathan Bass.

China has a Trump problem in the wider region as well. With the exception of Iran, almost everybody, including Iran’s partner Qatar, seems to love the American president. Trump took the Gulf by storm in his three-nation — Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates — trip in May.

    1. How stupid. If Xi wanted to go on an austerity program, China could send us into a Great Depression. Xi has less motivation to prevent it than Trump. Just moronic.

    2. “There were some . . .”

Israel’s actions are superb! (Please, bring on the bunker busters.)

The only negotiations with the dictatorial leaders in Iran should be: Do you want to surrender in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem?

Decent Iranians would be cheering in the streets. And the Middle East would be safer for those who are civilized.

  12. District 22 committeeman Chris Barcenas reposted a video of a man dancing in his car and singing to Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” with the caption, “Driving home from work knowing DeSantis gave permission to the good people of Florida to go car bowling this weekend.”

Barcenas added, “Turn on off-road mode.”

    republicans are so friendly.

I was at a No Kings day protest. It was in a small town, about 300 protesters. For 90 minutes I saw nothing but smiles on peoples faces, people talking to strangers, not a single bad word between people. Then at the end of the protest, about 10 trump supporters showed up. They yelled obscenities, called people all sorts of nasty names. I tried to talk with one of the trump supporters but all I got out of her was swear words. Oh, she did say I should accept Jesus as my savior. I asked her how MAGA compared to the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus. She said Oh yea, she’s read the Sermon on the Mount. I asked her again how trumps policies comply with Jesus sermon. She ignored me and called me all sorts of swear words.

Why are trump supporters so hateful?

    1. NO KINGS? U.S.A got rid of Kings about 250 years ago! “Not a single bad word between them”? Yes only HATE against Trump! Change Trump to Dems in your last sentence! It will make your post more sensible.

      1. Did you read my paragraph where I described the No Kings protesters as pleasant, friendly, and the trump people as jerks?

I did not see hate among those protesting. You say there was hate against trump. I did not see or hear hate against trump. I heard a lot of talk about how trump has made life more difficult for lots of people. I never heard a single person say they hate trump.

I did hear a lot of swear words thrown at No Kings protesters by trump supporters. They would not engage in civil dialog. When I attempted to talk to them all I got was swear words thrown at me. At one point in time a police officer stepped between me and the girl swearing at me (the cop had his back to me), he told the girl to chill and back down, and move away, she was being way too aggressive towards me and the person I was with.

You apparently did not read what I wrote about what I observed. The trump supporters were complete jerks and would not engage in civil behavior.

        Quit deflecting.
So again I ask, why so much hate from trump supporters?

        1. “Did you read my paragraph where I described the No Kings protesters as pleasant, friendly, and the trump people as jerk”

I did – and I do not beleive you – you have lied so often about so many things.

Regardless, what you claim has NOT been my experience.

“I did not see hate among those protesting.”
Of course you did – but like a typical left wing nut you “misgendered” it.
If were not hate filled you would address ideas, policies, facts, not PEOPLE.
You would not be protesting. you would be working to change peoples minds, change the law.

Pretending that you are warm fuzzy and loving as you seek to obliterate the people who have successfully defeated you in the market place of ideas is HATE.

You are under the typical left wing delusion that by controlling words you control reality.

Pick an issue – any issue and lets discsuss that issue rationally.

Most everyone is NOT going to agree with you. That is how life works. 10 different people means 11 different opinions.
But it is likely that you and every single other person on this blog agree on atleast some part of every issue.

Accept that and work to persuade rather than FORCE the other person to live according to YOUR wishes.

Where there is disagreement the default must be the status quo over centuries – until you can persuade an overwhelming majority otherwise.
Usually that “status quo ” means the least intrusion of government into individuals liberty.
But not always – disagreement over looting does not default to your freedom to loot.

Hate is when you think so little of the liberty of others that you use FORCE to compel them to live under YOUR regime.
We HATE Murder, Rape, Theft, and we try to FORCE those who seek to Muder Rape, Steal to stop.

What are these idiotic “No Kings” protests about – but for HATE ?
You want to eliminte the current president elected by a majority of people who is doing what he promised to do if elected, what people elected him to do.
That is the antithesis of a King.
But then you can pretty much count on a left wing nut using words to mean the opposite of what they actually means.

“You say there was hate against trump. I did not see or hear hate against trump.”
Then you are blind and deaf.

“I heard a lot of talk about how trump has made life more difficult for lots of people.”
Of course he did. He ended your and their ability to FORCE the rest of us to live as you demand.

If you want to use FORCE to compel others to live as you demand – persuade a supermajority to change the laws and or constituion to be as you wish.

Law Enforcement – whether state, local or federal does NOT get to decide what the law should be.
They are there to enforce the laws that exist.
WE hold them accountable when then violate the law, and when they do NOT enforce the law as directed.

It is litterally HATE when you target law enforcement because you do not like the law.

If you do not like the law as it is CHANGE THE LAW.

You “hate” ICE – for enforcing the law.
You HATE the police – we have all been through the “summer of love” and defund the police.
But even today – you are protesting law enforcement that is merely doing their job.

You are trying to undo laws that were made constitutionally with the support of supermajorities of people,
and you are trying to do so lawlessly.

It is not hard to get a supermajority to agree that the laws we currently have are wrong.
It is near impossible to get a supermajority to agree on what they should be.
And YOU seek to circumvent that requirement by intimidating law enforcement or the president or the courts.
          Worse you are sometimes successful.

“I never heard a single person say they hate trump.”
Calling someone a tyrant, a rapist, A nazi, a fascist, hitler is not HATE ?
In the left world those who disagree with you are not merely wrong, they are evil.
Worse still – it is you that is typically wrong.

“I did hear a lot of swear words thrown at No Kings protesters by trump supporters.”
People do tend to swear at actual tyrants.
          We even “hate” actual tyrants.

This is more of the lunacy of the left.

          Hatred IS sometimes acceptable.
          Violence IS sometimes acceptable.

          The FACTS matter.

Generally we HATE people who actually ARE evil.
We HATE people who use FORCE to take away what is ours by right.
We have the right to use VIOLENCE to resist the use of FORCE to take away our rights.

But we do not get to make up rights willy nilly
Nothing that imposes a positive duty/burden on others is a right.

You may not use FORCE/VIOLENCE to take what belongs to others.
You may not use FORCE/VIOLENCE to obtain something that is not yours – property, healthcare, a job,

When you do – people are justified in using force against you.
They are justified in hating you.

“They would not engage in civil dialog.”
We do not know the truth of what you claim – because you have been caught lying so much.
But even if we presume you speak the truth

You do not get to define what civil dialog is.
You do not deal with the law, the facts, logic or reason.
Whether you speak calmly or angrily, does not change reality.
When your words are the precursor to he use of FORCE – they are not civl.

People are entitled to get angry with you, even resort to violence,
When you threaten to use FORCE to take what is not yours, or to impose a burden on others you have no right to impose.

“When I attempted to talk to them all I got was swear words thrown at me.”
I treat you with far more civility than you have earned.

“You apparently did not read what I wrote about what I observed.”
We read you all the time.
What we do not do is beleive you.
People tend not to beleive people who have been caught lying repeatedly.

You have made alot of claims – why should anyone beleive them ?

You say you want to some protest and some things happened there.
But you provide NOTHING that can be verified.

For the most part these weekend protests were a fizzle.
But in a few places they got violent.
Regardless, they are ALWAYS protesting the wrong things to the wrong people.

ICE is going to follow the law.
The police are going to protect the targets of your protests, as well as private property

You are free to protest wherever you wish.
But the laws that you are fighting are made by congress.
Try protesting where it serves a real purpose.

The “nationwide” protests that you are conducting have accomplished nothing beyond take the police away from their real work of preventing and punishing crime, to preclude you from abridging the actual rights of others.

“The trump supporters were complete jerks and would not engage in civil behavior.”
Since when have you earned the right to be treated civilly ?

“So again I ask, why so much hate from trump supporters?”
The same reason that colonists hated King George and loved George washinghton.
Because King George used force to infringe on their rights.
and George Washington fought to stop that.

      2. Here is another example of hate from a republican. In this case Senator Mike Lee of Utah.

I hope you heard what he said about the murdered people in Minnesota. Here is a response from someone that knew the murdered couple…

“I knew Melissa Hortman. Many people in this office did. She was a longtime friend of Senator Smith’s, who had seen her hours before she was murdered, So you’ll forgive my candor as I speak through enormous grief,” Shelleby added. “Why would you use the awesome power of a United States Senate Office to compound people’s grief? Is this how your team measures success? Using the office of a US Senator to post not just one but a series of jokes about an assassination — is that a successful day of work on Team Lee? Did you come into the office Monday and feel proud of the work you did over the weekend?

“I pray to God that none of you ever go through anything like this,” Shelleby added. “I pray that Senator Lee and your office begin to see the people you work with in this building as colleagues and human beings.”

Notice how Shelleby did not wish evil upon Mike Lee. She nearly dresses him down for his hurtful comments.

        Again I ask…
        Why are replubicans so hateful?

        1. Mike Lee posted a photo of the killer, who wore a disturbing mask, and said, “This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way.” That wasn’t mocking the victims. It was calling out the ideology behind the violence.

Ed Shelleby responded with moral outrage but turned it into a political attack. He assumed the worst, ignored the facts, and used grief to posture.

The left calls Republicans Nazis and fascists all the time, often without anyone being hurt. But when a Republican bluntly names a violent ideology after a double murder, he’s the villain?

That’s the double standard. I don’t see Lee’s words as hateful. I see them as truthful. Shelby’s response was politicized grief, and that’s worse.

Baby Trump doesn’t see anything but the leftist pages in front of his face that he copies without any understanding but with a lot of malice. He should stop posting until he addresses his ignorance.

          1. Your correct that many call people that support trump Nazis. They are incorrect. The correct term is Fascist.

Fascism – a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, perhaps it’s a duck.
            trumps actions speak fascism.
How do Democrat principles comply with the definition of Fascism?

            1. @ Baby Trump: “Fascism – a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.”

Trump is not a dictator. He shares his Constitutional power with Congress and the judiciary. Take note: Trump has not called up the troops to fight the crazy decisions made by leftist judges. Instead, he fights them in court. Perhaps you should start by defining what a dictator is.

              “forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism,”

Trump does not have complete power.
Trump only uses the force of the Constitution, and when he loses, he backs off.

              “regimenting all industry, commerce, etc.,”
Provide specific. Trump is leading the nation and, with the help of Congress, is Constitutionally changing many things in this country, including making government smaller, which is the opposite of what is done by a Fascist leader.

              “ nationalism”
Trump protects our sovereignty, which requires borders, something the left doesn’t recognize.

              “racism”
Trump has overturned DEI, which places color ahead of race.

Biden: No borders. Refused to comply with the Supreme Court decision, racist DEI policies, severe censorship, used domestic police force to label mothers of school children against pornography and Catholics as suspected domestic terrorists, wants big government and more regulation. How much more do you need to recognize where Fascism lies? In the Democratic Party.

Since you didn’t answer my response to your statement about Mike Lee and changed the subject, I assume you recognize how wrong you were about Mike Lee’s comment. However, you are engaging in reasonable discussion. Presently, you are an outlier to the rest of the leftists on this blog. Congratulations.

      3. “…only HATE against Trump…”

If 200 million people hated Trump, combined it would still be less than the hate you have toward any one to the left of Steven Miller.

    2. Everyday I see smiles on the faces of the people in my community – because life is good,
and the reanting of the left is just meaningless noise.

How do Trump policies compare with the Sermon on the mount ?
The sermon on the mount – indeed Christs entire life is about INDIVIDUAL responsibility.

Jesus said – give to the poor.
He did NOT say vote to steal from others

Nowhere in the entire bible is ANYTHING that the woke left supports.

  13. What’s the cost to join the Democratic Party? First you must surrender you brain to the claptrap of far-off illusions of grandeur where the righteous preside and welcome all who bow to their dogma. The dogma of see, hear and speak no evil of those who rule the plebes. You must take everything literal even if you know that your leg is being pulled, because words of others not in your surround must be wrong. Finally, you’re required to curtsey to the directive of the Party.

    George W

    1. Not the Democratic Party I am aware of.

What do you have to do so stay an active member of the Republican Party?

      1. You know that Democrats support thugs.

You have to be able to define a woman.

You believe that weird men should not play in women’s sports.

You know that Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Dan Goldman. Tim Walz, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Chuck Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Gavin Newsom, Maxine Waters, and the rest of the lying Democrat elites are on their way out and will be replaced by a rising new group of racist communist superstars like AOC, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib.

You know that the American education system is a disgrace.

You know that Democrats can’t win on real issues and have to import ignorant illegal voters to win.

You know the US cannot afford to support illegal aliens.

You know that Democrats don’t care how and where they get their laundered money.

        1. “You know the US cannot afford to support illegal aliens”

So why did trump order ICE to stop going after illegal immigrants at farms, restaurants, hotels, and meat packing plants?

Sounds to me like trump finally realized illegal migrants are a vital part of our society. Your orange god says things contrary to what you post. Or do you disagree with him? Do you want to see all illegal migrants (100%) deported? This would be about 30% of all farm workers in the country, 20% or more of all semi skilled construction workers, a significant number of maids at hotels, a significant number of meat packing butchers, a significant number of landscape laborers.

Really? Deport them all? trump says otherwise.

          1. *. Hotel workers can have passports and visas and regard the law. Hotel workers and illegals aren’t blood sisters.

          2. You’re reading too much into it…original policy was/is “the worst, first.” This is a “pause” as reported by the NY Times: “We will follow the president’s direction and continue to work to get the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens off of America’s streets,” Tricia McLaughlin, a department spokeswoman, said in a statement.

Certain industries need time to adjust, and so does a society that has used and abused this “cheap labor” for the least of altruistic reasons. Your argument, though it sounds noble and big-hearted to you, is nothing but another one your truly cheap and self-serving hypocrisies. Shame.

  14. WaPo is reporting that a million illegals have self-deported since Trump II began. It also reports that wages are up. This is helping American workers on the lower rungs of the economic ladder, as it was designed to do. This is the type of result the voters elected Trump to accomplish on 11/5/24. Arrests and deportations constitute one track of a two-track approach by the Trump Admin. The other is incentivizing self-deportations, where the illegal gets $1,000 to self-deport, as compared to a $17,100 cost per illegal for the arrest track. The self-deportation track is much cheaper and has been very effective so far.

    https://nypost.com/2025/06/15/opinion/nearly-1-million-illegal-immigrants-have-self-deported-under-trump-which-has-led-to-higher-wages/

  15. “When this column posted, I was inundated with the usual threats and profanity. However, the emails and messages were particularly vehement this week. (One on Father’s Day explained that when a bullet is put in my head, my children would celebrate). For self-professed champions of democracy, there is nothing more deflating and demoralizing than being told that democracy is not dying. “

One of the things I remember about Richard Nixon is his line that higher “education strengthens the mind but weakens the spine.” Our academic institutions have forgotten the notion of righteous violence in defense of principle. It’s what Our Greatest Generation understood implicitly as they marched off to defend America. Now, surely the Leftist radicals feel their violence is as justified and their “virtues” are on full display but the difference is that they are enagaged in a war against their own. Not some foreign ideology or way of life but against the prevailing national ethos that we have all lived for generations. That is a prescripton for unlimited vengeance as all civil wars truly are. JT should have no illustions these are well-meaning (if overly exuberant) anatagonists intending to win a national debate. They are what they seem to be – revolutionaries every bit as merciless and ruthless as the Jacobins of the French Revolution. You don’t reason with this kind of menatlity. You oppose it with righteous violence if need be and history shows that it will be. Sorry, but reality doesn’t care about the niceties of academic debate or the protocols of polite society. Professors would do well to learn that simple truth. Welcome to the fight, JT,

    1. Professor Turley is not only a law professor, but a skilled lawyer. He is making his case by bringing facts to light, day in and day out.

Some commenters on this blog criticize him for being a Democrat, but that’s irrelevant. The readers of this blog are the jury, and he is the lawyer relying on the facts as sufficient in and of themselves to show how unhinged the American Left has become in recent years – including huge parts of the Democrat party.

      1. Professor Turley is a Man of Principle and demonstrates that daily in his writings. To my knowledge he remains a Democrat….the kind that is welcome to sit at my dinner table and be warmly welcomed. We should be so fortunate if all Democrats were the same as the Professor. He and I might differ in our politics but we sure share the same love of our Constitution and individual rights it provides us. I suppose that means despite being from different points of views on some political issues we share the same love of Country and respect for our fellow Americans. One qualifier for me however is my love of others shrivels up upon realizing they are being intentionally rude AND stupid. In that regard I am sure the Professor is the better Man than I am.

        1. RC:

JT’s Democrat no longer exists except in the minds of a few hangers-on. Sad to say.

      2. OMFK:
Agreed and no criticism of our host is intended, but, as well know, at some point the debate has to stop and a decision has to be made and then the consequences faced. It’s at that precise point, you find out exactly who you are.

        1. No objection here. I wasn’t really responding to you, I suppose, but to others who have criticized him in the past for staying in the Dem party.

  16. Jonathan: You the target of threats and profanity? Hard to believe. But I guess this only proves that mild mannered law professors are not immune from what you call this “age of rage”. But more to the point of your column. Trying to blame the nationwide “No Kings!” protests around the country on “left-wing groups” sounds just like what we have come to expect from FoxNews and its legal analyst. But even if it were true so what? Right-wing groups like the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, the Koch Bros. Foundation and the architects of Project 2025 have been organizing for decades to push their agenda. Haven’t seen you write on column complaining about their activities. But when “the Left” organizes 12 to 15 million people to protest DJT’s dictatorship that suddenly becomes a bad thing. Can’t have it both ways.

So the Q is whether there is evidence that DJT wants to rule like a King or dictator. Here are just some examples to make the case that this is exactly what DJT wants:

    –Attacking judges personally because the King doesn’t like their rulings. Refusing to abide by court orders, arresting and prosecuting judges;
    –Sanctioning law firms who represent clients the dictator doesn’t like. Forcing law firms to pay tribute to the King to get out from under those same sanctions;
    –Targeting the media and individual journalists who publish stories unflattering of the dictator;
    –Attacking universities by cutting off funding because the dictator wants to control academic curricula and who is hired or fired;
    –Violating the law by ordering the National Guard and the Marines into the second largest city in the country to suppress domestic dissent against the policies of the dictator;
    –Using the military as if it were his personal army devoted to enforcing the dictator’s will rather than defending the country and the Constitution;
    –Turning the DOJ into the personal law firm of the dictator to go after his personal enemies;
    –Pardoning convicted violent criminals so they will be available as shock troops when needed in support of the dictator’s agenda;
    –Rounding up and deporting immigrants to a concentration camp in another country–depriving them of fundamental due process and other human rights;
    –Using the military to stage a parade in honor of the dictator;
–Taking over cultural institutions to force them to provide art and music only approved by the dictator.

The above are just some of the ways DJT is acting out his role as the country’s first dictator. He issues EOs like they are candy but 96% of them have been found by the courts to be illegal or unconstitutional. MAGSA Republicans in the House and Senate are apparently willing to allow DJT to rule like a King because opposing the King can be dangerous. But the polls and the “No Kings!” protests around the country on Saturday indicate the great majority of Americans don’t want a King or a dictator. The next six months will probably determine which we will have.

      1. Dennis = Gigi = George = TDS Anonymous = Wally = Svelaz = Concerned Citizen = Jeff (below) and numerous other sock puppets.

As a point of reference, “Gigi” used to use the sock puppet name “Natacha”. Natacha was accued by a practicing “male attorney in Ohio” of stealing the identity of a real female attorney in Ohio. Said “male attorney in Ohio” claimed to be friends with the female attorney in Ohio, and stated on this forum that he had contacted the female attorney about someone stealing her identity on Jonathan Turley’s blog. That male attorney accused Natacha of identify theft. Regulars on here recall that Natacha claimed to be a nurse practitioner with a bogus MS Degree, and a master’s thesis paper on premature babies and oxygen saturation. i took Natacha to task on “her” claim, and suddenly “she” stopped the Nurse Practitioner claim. Upon being accused by the practicing male attorney in Ohio of engaging in identity theft, Natacha vanished, as did the use of the alleged stolen identity. Natacha morphed into Gigi

it appears Gigi is doing the same thing with Jeff. There was an individual by the name of Jeff, with the same photo Gigi is using, but that individual was in the medical field, insurance claims I believe. That individual had a linked account to Gravatar, and provided all of his career information and location on Gravatar. That “Jeff” has disappeared, and is now being used by Gigi (who is Dennis, George, TDS Anonymous, et al.)

Fake identities, stolen identities, and swarming a comments section with sock puppets are very old internet strategies to give the impression there exists a large number of individuals who share left-wing talking points. Media Matters was sued by Elon Musk for that very practice on Twitter/X.

        https://nypost.com/2024/05/23/media/media-matters-hit-with-sweeping-layoffs-after-defamation-suit-by-elon-musk-federal-probes/

TL;DR: left wing trolls lie, steal identities, create sock puppets, because they are paid to do so by handlers and/or are sick puppies.

As for the “No Kings” claim of being the largest organized protest, that too is a lie. The Right to Life March campaign has existed for decades, and their annual events held in January, have witnessed millions of participants across the nation on the same day, all of them ignored by the MSM

        https://marchforlife.org/national-march-for-life/

        1. What’s really interesting is that earlier this a.m., I made a single comment in which I questioned how many protesters could actually articulate how Trump was acting like a king? And now, out of nowhere, Dennis (as anonymous), Gigi, Jeff, and anonymous have appeared and actually enumerated, in list form, checklists of how Trump pretends to be king.
If not so sad, it is beginning to get funny!

          1. If not so sad, it is beginning to get funny!

🎶The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path 🎶

          2. And, yet–every point we made is correct and proof of Trump attempting to play king. A 34-time felon, who is a pathological liar and sociopathic narcissist lying to get into office, trying to rule by Executive Order, selling power to fire federal employees, cut of aid to starving people and trying to cut agency funding is NOT funny. Neither is the waste of taxpayer money for a vainglorious birthday celebration in the style of dictators.

            1. Gigi’s comments are now shorter and hidden behind “Anonymous.” What a pleasure.

You owe Trump for correcting the damage Biden did, damage that dragged our country down.

You owe Israel thanks for confronting a future nuclear threat before it could turn its weapons on the “little Satan” and the “great Satan.”

Both Israel and Trump made the world safer and gave people everywhere a better future.

You can now repeat after me. Thank you, President Trump, and thank you, Israel.

        2. Estovir, the all knowing and judgmental Catholic religious fanatic rears his ugly head again.

Interesting that you talk about the great crowds at the Right to Life Marches.
Interesting that you are staunch anti-abortion Right to Lifer.

I would be very interested in your thoughts about the recent revelations concerning a home for unwed mothers and their babies run by the Catholic Sisters of Bon Secours in Tuam, Ireland.
The young women and their babies were treated with contempt, and physical punishment.
Many babies died from lack of medical care.
The bodies of 800 babies were simply dumped in a sewage tank known as The Pit.
No records were kept of the deaths.
The babies were not given a decent burial.
So much for the Right to Life.

Annette McKay, who now lives in Manchester tells the story of her mother Margaret “Maggie” O’Connor who gave birth to a baby girl in the Tuam home in 1942 after being raped at age 17.
The baby, named Mary Margaret, died of whooping cough six months later. Annette remembers her late mother recalling how “she was hanging out laundry when a nun came up behind her and said ‘the child of your sin is dead’.
The child of your sin is dead.
          DISGUSTING.

The Catholic church is the most evil organization ever to have existed in all of humanity.

Perhaps the most evil of all is Mother Theresa.
This woman claimed to be a “friend to the poor”.
Actually, she was a “friend of poverty”
She was single handedly responsible for more misery and poverty in India than can possibly be imagined. She used to point to the orphanages she ran, and claim that this is how she fought against contraception and abortion. If she really wanted to relieve suffering in India she would have been PROVIDING contraception.

It has been shown repeatedly around the world in poor countries that the single greatest method of relieving poverty and suffering is to empower women by allowing them to control their own child bearing.

Estovir, your pompous, self righteous pontificating, and holier than thou attitude make me want to vomit.

  17. Let me begin by stating that I am sorry you or anyone else attempting to make reasoned commentary on the political happenings of the nation, has been imputed or threatened. (Although I’ll be threatened after this post on this very page). Political violence is NEVER acceptable.

With that said, there is a near endless list of things the president has said and done that indicates his desire to push the limits of his office or outright attempt to stay in power (Such an argument could be made about inciting a riot on 1/6 to remain in power). I should state that the “No Kings protest seems to be more directed at immigration policy however.

Here is an unexhausted attempt to list such ways the president has pushed the envelope.

    1. Refusal to accept the 2020 election to this day and the concerted attempt to reverse the outcome.

    2. Stating “maybe we will try a president for life someday” like China’s president Xi.

    3. Multiple successfully court challenged attempts to circumvent the constitution.

    4. Multiple pardons to reward loyalty. See Roger Stone, Mike Flynn, and 1/6 for blatant examples.

    5. Appointing family members to positions of power. A long favorite of monarchies.

    6. Appointing unqualified people to positions of power simply due to their perceived loyalty. Pete Hegseth is the best example of this. He was confirmed on a VP tie breaker vote. This position is always near unanimous in voting. See Rubio’s vote for comparison.

    7. Daily vilification of the press by calling them “enemies of the state.”

    8. Openly stating there are “ways” around the 22nd amendment.

The list is obviously not exhaustive. The point is the president does indeed imply or at times outright state his desire to remain in power. Kinda like a king if you will.

    1. Nice comment. But you have to understand you’re trying to reason with a bunch of far right wing extremists who are 1,000% certain the way they see things (like Nazis did in 1930s Germany blaming the Jews) is the only way and anyone who disagrees is evil incarnate. These MAGAs are totally incapable of recognizing anyone has a valid point of view outside of their own. So, when Trump said if he hadn’t sent in the Marines and National Guard, LA would have been burnt to the ground (nothing could be further from the truth, the protest at issue occupied about 4 blocks) the little Nazi wannabes you’re trying to appeal to feel they know Trump is right and will defend it to the end. Not one of them can admit, sending in troops was unnecessary and Trump should never have sent them. Not one of them can admit Trump failed to do a tariff deal in the 90s days he claimed 90 deals would be done. Not one of them can admit Trump failed to offer a health care plan even though he has stated over the years it’s coming “in two weeks.” None of the can admit Trump failed to end the Ukraine war, which he stated would be easy for him and done in 24 hours, and he said it many times including in the Harris debate. None can admit he’s taking us into war with Iran and churning up the Middle East into a bigger violent hotbed. MAGAs are little American Nazis.

      1. @Anonymous

No, most of are to the other side of right. But you are more of a troll than Jeff, so what does one expect?

        1. Could you explain what was not true in the above statement?

End Ukraine war in 24 hours?
tariff policy that changes by the hour, minute, day, week, month?
Pardon on the non violent J6 criminals (he pardoned them all)?

          Which one is not true?

    2. @Jeff

You are a troll, and a pathetically fake one. *Almost* as believable as ‘Oliver’.

      1. Little baby snowflake. Someone makes cogent arguments and you yell, “Troll!”

Someone will be along soon to change your diaper, James.

      2. ‘Oliver’

I miss “Oliver.” His caricature was so exaggerated that it was absurdly funny.
