  1. Lets put this in perspective…
In the past under King Daley II , the city sold off its parking meters to a company for 1 billion dollars. The money was promised to be used for investments and not to be spent… Bad deal, and of course within a month of the deal closing… King Daley II used it to close a 1 billion dollar gap in the city’s budget.

So what Brandon has tried to do is more of the same.

Now the important thing is that the company modernized the meters and then raised parking rates around the city.
So that within less than 10yrs, even after their expenses… they recouped their investment. Had Daley done what they did… the city would have millions to spare.

Daley did this because his plan was to reduce the autos within the city. To also bring in congestion pricing and zones. Just like he saw in London.
    This too failed.

And this happens when you live in a one party town.

And Turley… don’t forget… you as a liberal democrat are part of this problem.

  2. What is it with liberals. Regardless of educational credentials, they all appear to be financially illiterate…whether it be Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson or Fed Governor Lisa Cook.

  3. It’s their money, spend it when you want!

Government is the J.C. Wentworth of the modern economy.

    1. Blaming the voters, you get what you voted for, is a fair assessment of corrupt city government. But then it’s no secret that elections aren’t always fair because of voter fraud and outright cheating. If non-citizens, dead people and people no longer legitimately on the roles can vote then non-resident property owners who pay property and income taxes to the city should have a vote in how the city is run and by whom. Second home and investment property owners who are US citizens should get to vote. Now they live with the disasters like Chicago and New York and their only recourse is to sell and further do damage to the city and those who can’t leave.
