The Three Rs: Clinton and Weingarten Return to Republicans, Rage, and Recrimination

Many people are calling out former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for a posting supporting American Federation of Teachers (AFT) chief Randi Weingarten’s new book in which she paints her political opponents as “fascists.” The timing was flagged as, at best, tone deaf in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a shooter who wrote fascist references on his bullets and was clearly radicalized by such rage rhetoric. For me, the timing was most notable in how Weingarten and Clinton are again pushing their extreme rhetoric as a new report emerged showing the utter failure of our schools to actually educate our children. Weingarten and Clinton cannot be bothered by the long-standing declines in education. They are returning to the three Rs: Republicans, Rage, and Recrimination.

Weingarten is “credited” with turning the teacher’s union into an extension of the Democratic Party, often appearing at political rallies with her signature high-volume screeds:

Clinton pushed the use of education to paint opponents as fascists: “Congratulations to my friend [Weingarten] on ‘Why Fascists Fear Teachers.’ From banning books to controlling curriculum, authoritarians go after public education because it’s a cornerstone of democracy.”

Schools have become the cornerstone of a political strategy as opposed to actual education. As Weingarten and Clinton were pushing the fascism attacks, a new study showed just how badly teacher’s unions and administrators have failed our students.

While Weingarten and other unions have poured millions into democratic  and liberal campaigns, they have done little to improve education for millions of students.

  1. At this point Clinton and Weingarten are slightly less influential on the American political scene than the dodo bird. 2016 wasn’t so much about Trump winning as it was about the universally unpopular Clinton losing, and her popularity hasn’t exactly improved since then. If they want to do a remake of Night of the Living Dead starring these two, I’d go see it. Otherwise my brain cells have other things to do than focus on such abject irrelevance.

    1. “At this point Clinton and Weingarten are slightly less influential on the American political scene than the dodo bird”

In a strictly defined sense of “American political scene” you may be correct. However, Weingarten, through the AFT, still wields tremendous influence over the curriculum, methods, and goals of the US public education system, and if you don’t recognize that as a horrific problem urgently in need of a solution, I think you need to read the Professor’s column here again, and strive to better understand it.

  2. I don’t know what all you leftist libtards here are complaining about with regard to failing schools.
We in the MAGA world, who support the Glorious Leader, understand the need for a poorly educated workforce.

How else can Jeff Bezos be expected to make billions of dollars without an army of poorly educated people to work in his Amazon warehouses for minimum wage.
The Walton family needs these people to keep their Walmart SuperCenters open.
When all the illegals are deported, farmers will need poorly educated people to harvest their crops, hotels will need maids and janitors, construction laborers will be needed, gardeners will be needed.

    Get a grip you people.
This is all part of the MAGA plan to enrich the wealthy, and enslave the poor.

    1. Which Libtards please? I’m sure you have a some sort of super power that allows you see into the minds and souls of commenters. Also, please be aware that far too many here have poor writings skills and low intelligence. In no particular order.

    2. Wrong.
It is the illiberals who want a low to non-educated work force. Just look at how public schools, under illiberal teacher unions control, are failing students. That is why so many MAGA parents want parents rights and school choice. We want highly educated students who can think critically, logically, have a degree of common sense. All those things are what illiberals hate.

I presume that when you employ people to work your vast agricultural empire you look for people who have Ph.D. in agronomy from one of those leftist, socialist indoctrination institutions known as universities that you are so eager to shut down.
After all such people are the only people qualified to clear brush, dig ditches, shovel cow sh!t out of the milking shed, plough your fields and harvest your crops.

Yes indeed, farmers are clamoring for a more highly educated workforce since the crackdown on illegal immigrants farm workers.

Or perhaps you are not really one of those farmers.

        1. Farmers are some of the largest recipients of government handouts. It is entirely nonsensical for a farmer to advocate for smaller government and fewer entitlements. Farm subsidies are the biggest joke of the traditional GOP platform. That is until the GOP elected a protectionist President, who idealizes the import substitution industrialization of 80s Latin America. MAGA is the new Viva Peron!

        2. You presume, of course wrongly, I would even care about what a person’s qualifications are, other than a good work ethic and the desire to learn. I have had people from wall walks of life from high school students and about half a dozen people with college degrees as farmhands. Three of them went on to quit their white collar jobs and became farmers themselves. They found it a much more rewarding career than a cubical. I also gave a online class about things to look for when looking for land. I have also given on site classes to children and their parents about responsible farming and land management.
I have never called for shutting down any universities. Just for people to opt out of leftist indoctrination camps or attend a more open university like the University of Austin.

          1. NotReallyaFarmer

How many farmhands do you currently employ ?
You obviously employ a small army of farmhands to get all the work done, so that you can spend all day, every day posting on this worthless blog.
            Are they all legal ??

Or perhaps you just imagine that you have a “farm”, and you are not really a farmer.

  3. Why didn’t you choose the far more accurate title for this column: “The Three Rs: DEMOCRATS Return to Republicans, Rage, and Recrimination”???? And it’s more accurately inclusive to include the performance theater of the remainder of the Democrat brain trust i.e. Schumer who took to the stage at the same time to froth, rage and lie that Republicans were weaponizing Kirk’s death… because.

That’s your party, right there. Some day maybe you’ll divorce yourself from your Democrat party. But not yet.

  4. Randi Weingarten is a hideous, despicable, Marxist leader of a Union, that has overseen the miseducation two generations of America’s youth: An educational system designed to indoctrinate children to hold their own country in contempt, destroy unity among different groups, and falsify science with obsessions on transgenderism. She and her like educators are no less an existential threat the the US than the CCP. Period. And HRC is not much better.

      1. Weingarten didn’t use a gun to injure and harm the children she claims to be working on behalf of during Wuhan Flu. No, she wrote the policy about closing schools and quarantining children at home that she dictated to Bribery Biden and his administration apparatchiks.

        Anything else, Skippy?

    1. One point worth noting is that an overwhelming majority of teachers are female who are sexually dysfunctional and therefore rage against all males regardless of age. In Weingarten’s case being a lesbian has hasn’t hurt her political career with the rank & file. For what it worth she never acquired relevant educational credentials and was a kindergarten overseer.

    2. One of my favorite soundbite involving Randi Weingarten was when she was arguing against John Stossel, challenging him to teach a classroom anywhere in the US. Stossel accepted Weingarten’s challenge but haven’t heard back from her. 🙃

  5. Hey what’s the problem? Who’s going to dig the ditches and wash the dishes if the kids learn enough to have a better life? Hillary is just in bed with the teachers union for the money it raises for the Democratic Socialist Party. She’s just saying that you have to make a few eggheads if you want to make an omelette.
Haven’t you heard her declare on many occasions her heart felt compassion for the children? Keep em stupid then give em free stuff and they will love you forever. The formula was learned very well by a good old boy from Arkansas and his doting forgiving of many affairs wife. Oh well, the benefits have been worth it. There ain’t no way to hide her lyin eyes.

    1. “Hey what’s the problem? Who’s going to dig the ditches and wash the dishes if the kids learn enough to have a better life?”

I’ll answer that question for $500, Alex! All the children who were deprived of a basic education by being prisoners of the Weingarten/Democrat public school system.

2024 data: Not a single child tested proficient in math in 80 Illinois schools. For reading, it was 24 schools

  6. I love it when there is reasoning, intelligent discourse ON THE TOPIC presented. I despise it when I go to Comments and find off subject diatribes or petty back and forth childish dribble. Am I alone in this opinion?

  7. Those with any knowledge of the history of Marxism/Communism know that those who accuse others of being “fascist” are themselves Communist. It goes back Josef Stalin who called German socialists who wouldn’t join the Communist party “fascist.”

      1. “I’m sure he has comfort girls to help him cope.”

Since Epstein is no longer around, some of those might actually be of the age of consent…

    1. He picked her as a useful tool in his quest for power, he used her, she used him and what went on in the privacy of their bedrooms – G-d only knows what arrangements were there.

      1. So now its about the Clintons’ bedroom “arrangements”. See folks, this is a stupid ignorant abhorrent female.

  8. Jonathan: Looks like K$h Patel is on the hot seat for lying in testimony before Congress this week. But he is not the only one. AG Pam Bondi has also been severely criticized from all sides for her statement after the killing of Charlie Kirk. Bondi said her DOJ “would go after you for targeting anyone with hate speech”. The right-wing led the charge. Ted Cruz, Speaker Mike Johnson, Eric Erickson, Matt Walsh and GOP Rep. Thomas Massie all criticized Bondi–reminding her that “hate speech” is protected by the First Amendment. Even the WSJ editorial board said “Pam Bondi Needs a Free Speech Tutorial”.

Many in the MAGA world are calling for DJT to fire Patel and Bondi for refusing to release all the Epstein files–despite their promises to do so. Will DJT do that? Why would he? Patel and Bondi are only following DJT’s instructions. But as long as the coverup continues DJT will be in increasing pressure to do something. It would not be the first time threw his allies under the bus if it serves his personal interests. Stay tuned because the Epstein files scandal is not going away any time soon!

    1. I see you fail to mention that two Democrat judges are the ones who are blocking the release of the files.
How many times did Bill Clinton take trips on Epstein’s Lolita Express without his SS detail?

      1. Oh, Diogenes is by far much more normal then the likes of you. Even Liberal Bill Maher thinks you are stupid and crazy. He has been saying so for years and if the Democrat party continues to suffer the likes of you, they are doomed.

  9. Since Prof. Turley is an expert on free speech, you’d think that he’d be writing about Jimmy Kimmel and the FCC.

    1. Karma: when Jimmy Kimmel and his show get the boot – after he’s gone on air to gloat and cheer after Rosanne Barr’s network canceled her show on Obama’s demands. After he’s gone on air to gloat and cheer after Tucker Carleson’s network cancelled his show after demands from Schumer and other Democrats. Oh… Poor Jimmy and his free vicious hate lies that the murderer was a MAGA!

It wasn’t the FCC who was telling Kimmel’s network they wanted him off the air. It happened LONG before that stupid remark by the FCC chair to troll Stelter, the gelded egg, in response to his question. It was the major chains that were PAYING to run Kimmel’s show that told his network they weren’t going to run him anymore because his vicious amorality was hurting their business. Hard to sell advertising space to a show whose viewership is in the tank.

Given your obsession with such topics – going to stick around and give us your comments on how the Obama’s and Valery Jarrett phoned Rosanne Barr’s network to demand she be taken off the air? Presidents and their estrogen mafia have a LOT more pull than one member of the FCC.

    2. Why? No government entity is stopping Kimmel from speaking on other platforms, but to blatantly lie on a public airwave is another matter entirely. DO NOT mention free speech and conflate that with an employer noting that his customers no longer want to purchase Kimmel’s lies; that is a business decision only. Now the fair use doctrine may come in to play against the view since it, like kimmel, is not a strictly news organization – we will have to wait and see about that gaggle of propagandists.

    3. Why? The company fired Kimmel. Kimmel was clearly spreading misinformation, disinformation, aka lies. So, the CEO of the company fired him. Plain and simple.

      1. I believe that Kimmel was suspended rather than having been fired. The decision to suspend rather than fire was probably based on a review by lawyers of the Kimmel contract.

  10. Desperation makes a person do some truly inopportune things. I do think the progs are on their heels and know that their grand scheme has hit a snag, bigly.

      1. Oh, I do believe they have plenty of ideas, it’s just that they are always bad ideas and doomed to failure with the taxpayer left to clean up another of their messes. But power is what they live on and they know that their grift is being exposed, daily so they are flailing around, using their old bag of tricks but finding on a few takers and they are of a questionable mental fitness. This is not over and they will fight, more desperately, as they see themselves falling behind – this will be a year, 2026, that may resemble more the French Revolution than America.

    1. I don’t expect a self professed farmer like yourself with middling educational credentials to have the capability to make philosophical judgements.

      1. Dont have to be a Harvard grad to see these people are evil. I have more common sense, logic, and reasoning skills than you do. You prove it with all your inane comments.
        How marvelous!!

  11. This is excellent in revealing that Hillary has slipped down another rung on the ladder. Imagine, supporting a a fascist laden diatribe directed at Trump from an noted loud mouthed fanatic. Gone is the statesman (i.e. stateswoman) – presidential candidate image. Back to dirty politics, her personal specialty. Back to doing backstrokes in the swamp – though now toothless.

  12. Don’t American parents realize their kids learn so much more about imaginary life in present-day colonial America when teachers go on strike and encourage students to learn mindless outrage when radical nit-wit policy is questioned and defeated? These are skills all USEFUL IDIOTS need as they try join the workforce and are rebuffed for being barely functional human beings. AI will certainly determine the future voting citizens and leaders of this county (read GEN Z’ero here) are a danger to themselves and thus need to be treated like the mushrooms they are (feed BS and kept in the dark – just like their “higher education” trained to be)! We need more HRC and her ilk!!

  13. Hilary and Randi,
    Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum,
Both deaf to all tones and sense.
They prove that you never learn anything while talking.
Whatever happened to Reading the Room?
