The Three Rs: Clinton and Weingarten Return to Republicans, Rage, and Recrimination

Many people are calling out former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for a posting supporting American Federation of Teachers (AFT) chief Randi Weingarten’s new book in which she paints her political opponents as “fascists.” The timing was flagged as, at best, tone deaf in the wake of the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a shooter who wrote fascist references on his bullets and was clearly radicalized by such rage rhetoric. For me, the timing was most notable in how Weingarten and Clinton are again pushing their extreme rhetoric as a new report emerged showing the utter failure of our schools to actually educate our children. Weingarten and Clinton cannot be bothered by the long-standing declines in education. They are returning to the three Rs: Republicans, Rage, and Recrimination.

Weingarten is “credited” with turning the teacher’s union into an extension of the Democratic Party, often appearing at political rallies with her signature high-volume screeds:

Clinton pushed the use of education to paint opponents as fascists: “Congratulations to my friend [Weingarten] on ‘Why Fascists Fear Teachers.’ From banning books to controlling curriculum, authoritarians go after public education because it’s a cornerstone of democracy.”

Schools have become the cornerstone of a political strategy as opposed to actual education. As Weingarten and Clinton were pushing the fascism attacks, a new study showed just how badly teacher’s unions and administrators have failed our students.

While Weingarten and other unions have poured millions into democratic  and liberal campaigns, they have done little to improve education for millions of students.

  1. As a baby boomer, our schools made darn sure we knew how totalitarians came to power. Our world history class included the video version of Rise and Fall of the Third Reich using newsreel footage and the dialogue. This demonstrated how it was done in a way the written word could not. There are scenes that resonate in my memories 60+ years later. However, a distinction that makes a difference exists when the fascists are labeled “right wing”. Nazi was the short hand for the formal name of the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP). Many of Hitler’s domestic policies were socialist. Yes, fascists fought the communists and the approved communist term of art for those who oppose communism is still “fascist”. BUT, the groups generally labeled as fascist in the WWII era are only to the right of the communists. By that standard, maybe we are fascists.

One of the scenes burned into my mind was a speech Hitler gave to the Reichstag (house of representatives) in 1937. At the end the chamber erupted in applause, followed by the members bursting into song. Not the national anthem, but the party anthem. They had put party ahead of the nation. The parallels with the current opposition is striking and makes me fear for our country.

I’ll close with the observation that ANTIFA appears to lack the political awareness that their clothing choice mimics that of Mussolini’s Fascisti.

  2. Forget Kimmel and Colbert, what I want to know is why Clinton, Weingarten, Soros and all the other ilk that are determined to destroy our nation are not being investigated? To date, I know of no one being tried for anything including Adam Schiff, Letitia James and James Comey to name a few. All we hear is everyone on the planet is under investigation but no one is in court so as Bugs Bunny originally said “What’s Up, Doc?”

  3. At least Clinton and Weingarten are open about their disdain and opposition.
I am more concerned about the subtle camaraderie of anti-Trumpers that has developed with American MEDIA. (Remember the case of Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann who received significant settlement $$$$ from Washington Post, CNN, and NBC and others, who tried to characterize him as a MAGA hat-wearing instigator at an anti-abortion rally? Media’s mischaracterization of true events was truly stunning in that case.)
Since that settlement, MEDIA has become more subtle, more subliminal, in its messaging. More sins of omission (of relevant facts), than commission–all to create an impression of disdain toward the Trump admin; —of “us Americans” vs. Trump.
For example, the increasing tongue-in-cheek presentation of news by NBC’s Peter Alexander and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos (among others), who regularly refer to “Trump and his supporters” or “Trump and his followers,” as though he is some small, marginalized and ostracized “outsider” on the periphery of True America.
I’m sure that many would agree with me that Trump’s personality leaves a bit to wince at, but using the national Media to subtly divide and polarize America, as well as influence the not-so-media-savvy voting members of the general public, is reprehensible.

I’d rather deal with Clinton and Weingarten, cuz what you see is what you get.

  4. Ohno! not kimmell!
Left supporting the freedom of the shareholders to lose money for his TDS speech.
I cannot wait to see his ratings in what ever he does next.
I’m sure there will be many libs so ‘woken’ by his cancellation to make watching him a demand of the party.
They’ll soon ask themselves “Oh WHY didn’t I watch Kimmell?? I promise I will now!!!”
his ratings will surely sky-rocket now!!!

    Unless they’re all hypocrites, then he’s forgotten, a has-been.
    We’ll see, won’t we?

  5. What I’d like to know is how come no outraged liberals were watching kibble? His ratings were directly proportional to the dying left’s hopes for relevance.
The TDS rage machine has a over-supply and under-demand. Now they decided they got to branch out.
As they lose ground and voters, they must take even more extreme rage positions to grasp for attention.
Their rhetoric can ONLY increase as the crumbling mantle of communism falls around them, trapping them, doubling down on it is their only hope.
    The USA is healing…

    1. Farmers who voted for Trump are now begging for government handouts, the very core of communism in the heartland of America. The VP has a stake in a company that buys farms and leases them back to farmers; Trump’s refusal to yet again bail out American farmers will line Vance’s pockets at the expense of those farmer’s livelihoods, trapping them as hopeless serfs to toil the land for the oligarchs.

  6. Today’s nihlist socialists just don’t get it.
Only SOME were supposed to be useful idiots! Not ALL of them!

  7. I am still anxiously waiting for an article by Prof. Turley on the firing of Jimmy Kimmel. There is a difference between Kimmel and Colbert. The cancellation of Colbert’s show was justified by the station’s owner on economic grounds. It was just losing too much money. And it was announced months in advance. In Kimmel’s case, it was a government agency (FCC) which set the ball rolling and the justification was exclusively political. The owners then acted in consequence and the show was suspended immediately. There was no reference to economic reasons. That seems like a clear government intervention with free speech and it it high time that Prof. Turley would share his views. Not to mention the fact that the governmental reason (“lying to the American people”) was a clear misrepresentation of facts when one reads what Kimmel actually said. Personally, I never liked Kimmel because he was far too much political, in my opionion. And he was totally one-sided. But nevertheless, the issue is free speech!

    1. Gen
nevertheless, the issue is free speech!

NO IT’S NOT. He was canned by ABC, not the government. Go back to school.

      1. IT IS NOT FREE SPEECH. FREE SPEECH REGULATES GOV AND CITIZEN INTERACTION. THIS IS COPORATE VS EMPLOYEE. ITS ABOUT CONTRACTUAL LAW. GAWD YOU ARE SO FING STOOPID.

    2. LEFTIST MEDIA blocks free speech every day. They never refer to themselves as “Leftists”, ever. They bring on Leftists who will repeat their Leftist positions without asking for a conservative’s opinion. And we were giving them a billion dollars a years to oppress free speech.

      1. True, and Prof. Turley has always taken pains to comment on that. Why does he not comment on this?

      2. The current “Leftists” are to the right of President Richard M. Nixon. There’s no need to ask the opinion of conservatives – the President is on full blast 24/7. We already know. Take food from the hungry, let the sick suffer, let the homeless build their fortune by not spending money on food. We all get it – whatever Jesus was supposed to have requested of his followers, the conservative opinion seems universally to be the opposite.

Most all of the conservative media is the opinions of a couple of billionaires who benefit greatly by Trump’s tax and regulations cuts. They say things like “The reason your company gives no raises is because Hillary Clinton. The reason you can’t get hired is because George Soros.”

Conservatives seem to whine a lot; some because they are paid millions by billionaires to whine and others because they are content with being told who to blame and not figuring the real cause for their problems for themselves.

    3. MAKING fun of 1/2 of the country over and over is BAD BUSINESS!! 72% of the prime demo was lost in a few years!! LOSING MONEY!!

      1. Wrong! That was not the reason which was given. The reason which Brendan Carr gave was that “he lied to the American people.”

        1. Well, he did lie, but the reason ABC punted him off the air was because the two largest affiliate groups said they would not air Kimmel’s show because they did not think Kimmel’s shtick would play well in their markets. This is what we call paying attention to the bottom line.

    4. The impetus for the suspension by ABC appears to have come from two groups of affiliated stations, Nexstar and Sinclair, who acted first. What role Carr’s podcast statements played is unclear.

      1. The “affiliates” are the head of Nexstar and the head of Sinclair – that’s two people. Sinclair is a solid supporter of Trump. Conservatives don’t watch Kimmell so there was no flood of complaints to the FCC.

Kimmell exposed Trump as uncaring about the death of Charlie Kirk and Trump didn’t like that being pointed out. Trump specifically said that Kimmell was next, before that aired and this pushed Trump over the edge.

    5. There’s a chart going around showing Kimmel’s ratings have been in decline for years. As Trump predicted after Colbert’s cancellation, Kimmel was going to be next. I’d guess ABC had already been talking to Kimmel that they were not happy with his ratings. Kimmel likely had reason to believe his contract may not be extended.

So maybe, just maybe, Kimmell decided to go on a Kamikaze mission to make himself a martyr with the hateful Left who he caters to, exclusively. He’s now getting tons of publicity. The hateful Left are more loyal to him than ever. If he launches a podcast or streaming program or whatever comes next, he now has a larger audience of haters willing to pay for his hateful content.

      *********

ABC has a license to use the PUBLIC airwaves. The FCC is charged by statute to license those airwaves to broadcasters to air programming and set the rules for how the licensee may use those public airwaves. Kimmel’s schtick was pro Democrat, anti-Republican, exclusively. Once he decided to use the PUBLIC’s airwaves as a platform to benefit one political party he crossed a line. He has a right to hate half the country. He has a right to start a podcast, or streaming video, or even go to MSNBC which is not regulated by the FCC and become another pro Democrat propagandist if they can reach a deal.

Kimmel does NOT have a right to use the PUBLIC’s airwaves as a platform to benefit the Democrat Party, exclusively.

    6. “That seems like a clear government intervention with free speech”
Like when the Biden campaign told social media to suppress the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop? And coerced dozens of former ontelligence personnel (and current contractors ) to announce that the laptop smelt like Russian disinfo? Forced speech is not free speech. They couldn’t take the chance of repercussions if Biden won

      1. And when the Obama administration used the IRS to harass conservative groups forming in support of the Tea Party movement?

      2. My point is this: Prof. Turley very competently commented on free speech violations of the liberals and I thank him for that. I simply cannot understand why he would not comment on this free speech violation!

    7. ” In Kimmel’s case, it was a government agency (FCC) which set the ball rolling and the justification was exclusively political.”

You like to pretend that the networks of stations that were telling Kimmel’s employers they were no longer going to air his show because his ratings were abysmal and advertisers were leaving, only happened AFTER Carr’s remarks days later? They must have had Ouiji Boards to help them forecast what the FCC Chairman was going to say days later!

Well, you keep trying to sell that. Carr’s remarks to troll the media were another fine example of shooting yourself in the foot to accomplish exactly nothing. But they happened well after the company’s paying to broadcast Kimmel’s show had told his employer that he was losing them millions of dollars, they were no longer going to pay for his losing BS, and to provide them with something better to replace him with.

      1. That’s not how it played out. With Colbert, it played out correctly: the owner cited financial reasons to terminate the show and then they did that with a few months’ notice. Here, the starting point was a political reason and only a couple of days later they got wise to cite financial reasons.

    1. If it’s a fascist, it’s always going to channel it’s malfeasance and inner guilt on those it targets with its fascism.

    1. And apparently used female identities online even before the assassination attempt. So not a recent development.

  8. OT

CALENDARS and AI. It’s 1402 in Iran. It’s 2081 or 1942 in India. In the US It’s 2025. I didn’t run a check on all nations. Personally I have been wondering the reason for civilization feeling like it was 100 years ago or some other time period. It’s the computers not sync with the same calendar and HEADS UP as the gregorian dates and historical events will be jumbled.

The cooking shows with unkn glasses of measurement or cooks weighing everything on scales in grams. It gives me the heebie jeebies.

Memorize dates of events and periods on the Gregorian calendar. Civilization is being destroyed by SLOPPY programmers. Were in trouble as education declines and there’s 82 languages in schools and 94 genders.

Get this stuff out. Keep Civilization. Thank God almighty you’re dumping DEI. Jesus Christ names western civilization in the western hemisphere and Europe and any nation wanting to adopt it.

    Thanks, PT.

The year is our lords 2025

    1. By freaking way, I need mu Hershey bar at 16 oz or 1 lb for approx 5-7 dollars and NOT 8 dollars for 4 ounces or some other measure. What freaking thieves. Yes, weights and measures all of you residing in 2025 year of our lord!

  9. Under the Constitution, how the —- do unions and a “labor” department exist?

No legal basis can be cited for either.

An artificial legal basis must be contrived of whole cloth; it has been, not by fundamental law but by juridical frauds who studied and espoused communism.

    1. When will Americans be allowed to fully enjoy the rights, freedoms, privileges, and immunities conferred on them by the Constitution and Bill of Rights?

Americans are not free when they are dictated to by unions and communists, or should I say communists and unions; it makes no difference.

    2. The U.S. Supreme Court has recognized that the right to organize and join unions is part of the constitutional right to freedom of association, which is a component of the First Amendment’s broader protections of speech and assembly. This right allows workers to collectively act and pursue their interests through unions, including engaging in collective bargaining.

      1. While I agree with you – the right to contract is part of the constitution as well as a natural right. As is the right to free association.
There is no difference in the right of people to form a union and the right of people to form a corporation.
In each case groups of individuals who voluntarily agree to act collecgtively have the same rights as they did as individuals.

      2. Of course the right to NOT join a union is frowned upon. “Don’t you want to BELONG to us??? how you going to get along without US??”
Playing to the simple-minded, which is why union-made products suck: there is no reason to and no way to improve, just the opposite.
but try using your 1st ammendment right to negotiate your own deal with your employer or work when you union ‘bosses’ say stop.
That’s when the collectivists try to take away your rights with violence.

        1. If one has a complaint about the quality of the work that’s up to union workers. Any complaint about material or design or durability – that’s from penny pinching corporations. Exploding Ford Pintos – management. Roll over Ford Explorers – management. Bad dual clutch transmissions on Fords – management. If the bolts were tight and the trim in place when it left the factory – that’s the unions doing their job. If they rattle loose or rust out, that’s the capitalists ensuring the non-union engineers cut every design corner.

    3. The words ‘Union’ and ‘Labor’ have been co-opted by the communists to mean some form of justice over Cold-Hard-Capitalism.
The world now rightfully expects the standard of living that capitalism provides. The corrupt stand in their way but are defeated daily.
Only those that want power over others, or cannot think for themselves and look to their ‘betters’, need to gather in mobs for ‘justice’.
The Constitution and it’s inherent free-trade is the great equalizer that empowers INDIVIDUALS at the expense of the evil collective power.
YOU are the greatest minority on earth and you stand alone against the insanity of the mob whether you like it or not.

    4. Unions: freedom of assembly
Department of Labor: no clear Constitutional authority, bc no general police power.
