Charlotte Bronte once wrote “I believe that creature is a changeling: she is a perfect cabinet of oddities.” No quote better captured the chilling curiosity that is Hillary Clinton. This week, Clinton (without any sign of shame or self-awareness) attacked others for seeking censorship and blacklisting political opponents through government and corporate collaboration. Clinton is one of the most anti-free speech figures in the United States and actively campaigned for the censorship of opponents. Today, my column in the Hill discusses the hypocrisy of many on the left this week after the suspension of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. However, there is simply no one in the same class as Clinton in hitting hypocrisy’s rock bottom.
This week, Clinton declared: “I think this is a very clear example of using the power of the state to suppress speech. It is a direct government action to try to intimidate employers, organizations, corporations, much of which we’ve already seen, to remove an opponent, even though it’s a comic.”
For many in the free speech community, the statement led us to spit out our morning coffee.
Clinton and her allies have long shown contempt for the intelligence of the voters, often denying facts or flipping positions while denying any inconsistencies. It was a record that produced not only polling as one of the least popular American politicians but also record lows in the public’s view of trustworthiness and authenticity. Clinton’s campaign routinely lied about major issues, including denying to the media that it funded the infamous Steele dossier.
For the record, I have repeatedly criticized Administration statements from recently on free speech and some of the actions taken against critics as threatening to our core values of free speech. This has included threats to prosecute hate speech and flag burning despite countervailing precedent. However, the last person any of us in the free speech community wants to see in this fight is Hillary Clinton.
As I have previously written, Clinton heralded the growing anti-free speech movement and noted that “there are people who are championing it, but it’s been a long and difficult road to getting anything done.”
In my book, I discuss the challenge for anti-free speech champions like Clinton is that it is not easy to convince a free people to give up their freedom.
That is why figures like Clinton are going “old school” and turning to government or corporations to crack down on citizens. One of the lowest moments came after Elon Musk acquired Twitter, promising to restore free speech protections. Clinton called upon European officials to force Elon Musk to censor American citizens under the infamous Digital Services Act (DSA). This is a former democratic presidential nominee calling upon Europeans to push the censorship of Americans.
Clinton praised the anti-free speech efforts in California and New York and called for the rest of the country to replicate the approach of those states.
Clinton added a particularly illuminating line that said the quiet part out loud. This is all about power and the fear that she and others will “lose control” over speech:
“Whether it’s Facebook or Twitter or X or Instagram or TikTok, whatever they are, if they don’t moderate and monitor the content, we lose total control and it’s not just the social and psychological effects it’s real harm, it’s child porn and threats of violence, things that are terribly dangerous.”
Clinton continues to offer a textbook example of the anti-free speech narrative. While seeking sweeping censorship for anything deemed disinformation, Clinton cites specific examples that are already barred under federal law like child porn.
Not surprisingly, when I spoke in Berlin on free speech, Hillary Clinton also spoke to call for greater speech limits to a highly appreciative European audience. She has been a major voice in fostering the government-corporate alliance that carried out massive censorship of political opponents.
As Bronte noted, this “creature is a changeling: she is a perfect cabinet of oddities.” Fortunately, the public has never been deceived by the changeling. They have always seen her opportunistic attacks as a sign of contempt for them as a bunch of chumps. Both Clinton and the media have learned in prior elections that these narratives are falling flat with most Americans outside of the core Democratic base.
There has to be some lingering residue of shame left; some modicum of decency in refraining from such raw hypocrisy at these moments. Yet, we seem to be living in an era of post-shame politics. The only thing missing is lawyer Joseph Welch:
More slop as an attempted set-off to Trump’s actual curbing of freedom of speech, so for the sake of my blood pressure, I didn’t bother to read it. First, Hillary Clinton is a favorite MAGA target, so anything about her or Nancy Pelosi is a sure-fire winner to stir up the disciples, who have been conditioned to hate them both based on MAGA media lies, the fact that they are successful, and they prove what a total loser Trump and MAGA are. Secondly, Hillary Clinton has not been president–she never threatened to pull broadcast licenses of media that published things she didn’t like, and she never suggested such a course. Jimmy Kimmel is actually off of the air for now–a quid pro quo for approval of a merger deal that, according to FCC regulations, should NOT be approved. Colbert’s show will be off the air next year sometime–part of the settlement for a frivolvous lawsuit brought by Trump. Trump threatens anyone who dares to ask him questions to account for his unethical and unconstitutional conduct, and mostly only pro-Trump media are allowed to ask questions of the “press secretary”, who lies, diverts and who won’t take follow up questions, but to avoid talking about such obvious restrictions of free speech, Turley goes after Hillary Clinton.
Didnt read, dont care about your copy pasta
Must have been yet another lonely weekend with no hookups on Grindr, which explains why you go after and stalk Jonathan Turley so often. Too much time on your hands and no friends who GAF about you
Here’s part of what you’ve missed – you and your team are always fine with censorship & cancelation when your guys are the ones in power, so y’all can go after those whose politics you hate. That means you have NOTHING to stand on now. NOTHING. Because you’ve ALREADY surrendered your rights to the govt. Maybe now you’ll FINALLY listen to that age old wisdom about not supporting laws against others that you don’t want to live under yourself
OT: Dedicated to the Fraud and anonymous who appreciated my last post of this nature. Read and learn.
The Israel-Hamas-Iran conflict, still dominating world news, remains volatile. Anti-Israel demonstrations — often devolving into violent riots – have taken place in many countries in the past 23 months.
October 7 did not happen because of the lack of a ‘Palestinian state’, but because of the existence of one: Gaza since 2005 has been fully under Palestinian control, and since 2007, fully under Hamas control. There has been no peace.
Since 2005, more than 20,000 rockets and mortars have been fired from Gaza into Israel, a country roughly the size of New Jersey, along with at least 100 suicide bombings. How many rockets, missiles and suicide bombings would France, England, Canada or Australia tolerate?
Proposals to make Israeli citizens defenseless against indiscriminate rocket fire are therefore tantamount to inviting mass murder.
Hamas, on the other hand, has a straightforward policy of targeting Israeli civilians, obliterating Israeli communities and of using its own people as human shields and putting them in harm’s way.
So we seem to have here a serious case of mixing up the “good guy” and the “bad guy”. While in any war there will be mistakes, Israel cannot simply be labeled the “bad guy”. Apart from any country thus attacked having the right to forcefully act in self-defense, nowhere in history has any country gone to such pains as Israel not to harm its adversary’s civilians. Nowhere in history have people under attack brought such amounts of humanitarian aid to the people under a regime trying to destroy them.
The UN has admitted that 90% of what it tried to deliver was intercepted by “armed actors” before reaching its destination. The GHF has been vilified and falsely accused of killing Gazans.
Israel has been accused of “targeting civilians” in Gaza (sadly, civilians were killed, as in any conflict, but Israel never targeted them as such); was “genocidal”… committed “ethnic cleansing”, and so on.
The waves of anti-Jewish hate-mongering, in fact, began even before Israel entered Gaza, and by now have become commonplace. Even large American teachers’ unions, to their shame, have been spouting anti-Semitism. This rampant vilification, already seen at universities such as Harvard and Columbia, has become a serious problem… and urgently needs to be confronted.
Israel is a state well-founded in international law. Its existence cannot seriously be a point of dispute. Israel has always wanted simply to be left alone.
The Abraham Accords, politically stabilizing and economically beneficial both to Israel and several Arab countries, show that real peace can be achieved. It is revealing that no demonstrations criticizing Israel’s campaign against the Iranian regime and its proxies have been seen in Arab countries.
Today, the remaining hostages are being deliberately starved, given — only occasionally — contaminated water, and forced to dig their own graves.
Palestinians, and least of all groups such as Hamas, have not expressed a clear desire to recognize and live in peace with a Jewish state in any borders.
It now turns out, in addition, that the Trump Administration’s “helpful” mediator, Qatar — champion of virtually every Islamic terrorist group – instead of ordering Hamas to release the hostages, has been ordering Hamas not to release them.
That there is no demonstrable will on the Palestinian side yet to accept a Jewish state and live in peace with it is also shown by the still existing “pay-for-slay” “jobs program” of Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestinian Authority.
A Palestinian state now would not only be a de facto reward for terrorism, it would also inspire other terror movements to intensify their violence. The lesson the terrorists would take home would certainly be, “Terrorism works, so let’s keep on doing it.”
What the recent public demonstrations in the Netherlands and elsewhere show is mostly “selective outrage,” morally and politically lopsided. There appears to be hardly any interest in reconciliation or efforts at dialogue, and more in condoning or stimulating antipathy against Israel.

S. Meyer
The Gatestone Institute ??
Really ??
Anything they say should be taken with more than a grain of salt.
Perhaps a truckload of salt would be in order.
You obviously like this source of false information because it simply confirms your already extremist, Zionist views that are completely untethered from reality.
The Gatestone Institute has been frequently described as anti-Muslim, regularly publishes false reports to stoke anti-Muslim fears, and has published false stories pertaining to Muslims and Islam. Gatestone frequently warns of a looming “jihadist takeover” and “Islamization” of Europe, leading to a “Great White Death”.
Policy analyst J. Dana Stuster of the National Security Network, writing in The Hill, criticized Gatestone as “paranoid” for stating that immigration to Europe was “civilization jihad” and a “Muslim invasion”.
Multiple viral anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim falsehoods originate from Gatestone. Gatestone published articles claiming that Europe had Muslim “no-go zones”, falsely describing them variously as “off-limits to non-Muslims” and “microstates governed by Islamic Sharia law”. The claim that there are areas in European cities that are lawless and off limits to local police or governed by Sharia is false. The idea of no-go zones originated from Daniel Pipes, who later retracted his claims
On November 18, 2016, Gatestone published a false article that said the British Press had been ordered to avoid reporting the Muslim identity of terrorists by the European Union. Gatestone subsequently corrected the article and apologized for the error, before removing it entirely from its website.
The Gatestone Institute published false articles during the 2017 German federal election. A Gatestone article, shared thousands of times on social media, including by senior German far-right politicians, claimed that vacant homes were being seized in Germany to provide housing solutions for “hundreds of thousands of migrants from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.”The German fact-checker Correctiv.org found that this was false.
In 2017, Gatestone published an article titled “Muslims Tell Europe: ‘One Day This Will All Be Ours,'” suggesting a direct threat from Muslim communities. The quote, however, was not from a Muslim source but from a French Catholic bishop claiming it was something Muslims had told him. No evidence supported this attribution, and the misleading headline fueled anti-Muslim sentiment online, amplified by conservative outlets and social media.
in 2018 Gatesone claimed there was a “migrant rape crisis” in Germany driven by “mostly Muslim male migrants.” While listing specific crimes, the piece attributed them all to Muslim immigrants without evidence, even admitting elsewhere that police had not identified the attackers’ backgrounds. Such selective reporting and lack of substantiation have been criticized as deliberate distortions to vilify Muslim populations.
Gatestone has published works by figures like Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician known for extreme anti-Islam views, and hosted him for events. It also featured writings by Fjordman (Peder Jensen), a blogger admired by mass murderer Anders Breivik, until his name was quietly removed from their site. These affiliations tie Gatestone to a network of individuals known for spreading inflammatory and often baseless claims about Muslims.
Claims like “London closed 500 churches and opened 423 new mosques” and “Muslims in Switzerland burned a Swiss flag and demanded the cross be removed” have been traced to Gatestone and rated false by fact-checkers. These stories lack credible sourcing and appear designed to stoke cultural fears rather than inform.
The Gatestone Institute’s history reveals a track record of sharing fabricated stories and misinformation, particularly targeting Muslims and immigrants. Its lack of rigorous sourcing, penchant for sensationalism, and alignment with ideologically driven narratives severely undermine its credibility. While it may appeal to audiences seeking confirmation of specific biases, it does not meet the standards of a trustworthy source for objective information. Readers should approach its content with extreme skepticism and cross-check claims against primary or more reputable sources.
Fraud – ignoring your rant about Gatestone – what exactly was Wrong with anything SM wrote ?
It is typical of left wing nuts to fixate on alleged usually false moral claims about sources rather than dealing with actual facts.
John Say the Stupid.
You ask what is wrong with what Meyer “WROTE”.
He “WROTE” not one word.
Everything he posted is cut and paste from Gatestone Institute, which is an extremist organization with a very long history of deliberately publishing completely false anti-Islamic stories.
THAT IS WHAT IS WRONG !!!!
You also accuse me of not dealing with “facts”.
The “facts” published by Gatestone have repeatedly and comprehensively shown to be FALSE, which they regularly withdraw with an acknowledgement that they are FALSE.
“Meyer “WROTE”.
He “WROTE” not one word.
Everything he posted is cut and paste”
You really are stupid. Is there any doubt that it was from Gatestone and not written by me?. That is why I provided the address. Those were the bullet points. They and the article can be read at the address I provided.
I’m afraid the stupidity is yours and that of John Say, the Stupid.
You are right, there was no doubt that you did not write any of it.
I realized that you did not write it, and said so.
How does that make ME stupid.
John Say the Stupid, living up to his reputation, apparently was stupid enough to believe you wrote the post.
How stupid can you possibly get ???
Apparently as stupid as you and John Say, the Stupid One.
I think you should get a prize for persistence. Despite your posts demonstrating pure ignorance, you come right back and prove yourself more stupid than before. If we could put your IQ against John’s, we would find you 50 points down.
And you should get a prize for stupidity.
All I am doing is pointing out that Gatestone tells lies, and when called out, they retract the lies.
The lies are not mine, but you apparently, in your disturbed state of mind, seem to think that I am falsely accusing Gatestone of lying.
GATESTONE ADMITS THAT THEY PUBLISH FALSE STORIES !!!!!
“GATESTONE ADMITS THAT THEY PUBLISH FALSE STORIES !!!!!”
That is a pretty stupid statement you made while childishly screaming at the top of your lungs. Virtually every periodical makes corrections, but to you, any correction is a lie. The number of corrections made by Gatestone over the years is tiny, and that is why you couldn’t write about them honestly.
Take a look at the sample of your writing skills here and compare it to the post you didn’t write but sent in your name. You are an ignoramus and don’t know it.
They don’t make “mistakes”.
They don’t make “corrections”.
They publish completely false stories, then unequivocally retract them when called out.
A “retraction” is not a “correction”.
A correction implies that some detail in an otherwise true story is incorrect.
A retraction is just that. It is withdrawal of the entire story because it is false.
retraction (noun): the act of taking back an offer or statement, or admitting that a statement was false
When you retract something, you are admitting that it is false.
When you tell false stories, you are not to be trusted.
Nothing you say about anything can ever be trusted.
First, Sigmund the Fraud has to copy his reply from something else, and now he repeats his arguments from his previous reply. That is the sign of a dummy.
Sigmund Fraud has proven himself a fraud. These are not his words; rather, they are a conglomeration of stupidity that doesn’t address any of the statements made in the Gatestone article. This is not a factual attack rather an attack on Gatestone’s reputation, which mirrors his name, Fraud.
I am waiting for the Fraud’s point-by-point attack on the Gatestone article instead of his present questions of Gatestone that are exaggerated for emotional effect rather than truth or fact. Let’s hear the Fraud argue his case based on his own writing instead of just providing someone else’s hot air.
The criticisms of Gatestone that I posted are verifiably true.
Gatestone regularly publishes completely false stories, and then retracts them when proven to be false.
Gatestone retracted the false story about Muslim “no-go zones” in Europe.
Gatestone retracted the false story that the British press had been instructed to avoid publicly identifying Muslim terrorists.
Gatestone retracted the story about Muslims saying “one day Europe will be ours”
I don’t have to address the veracity or otherwise of Gatestone’s assertions. They have repeatedly published completely false stories, which they themselves later admit are false and then retract.
They, themselves, destroy their own reputation when they retract stories that they admit are false.
I am not trying to destroy their reputation.
I simply point out that they destroy their own reputation without any help from me.
When a “news” organization regularly retracts stories as being false, then it is perfectly reasonable to assume that everything they publish is at least suspect.
The burden is on them, and you, to prove the veracity of their assertions.
It is interesting that you make this accusation:
“Let’s hear the Fraud argue his case based on his own writing instead of just providing someone else’s hot air.”
Every word in you original post is cut and paste from Gatestone’s “hot air”
All publications make errors. Gatestone rarely needs to retract its statements, but even some of the retractions in the past are mostly true or proven true later on. It is a very legitimate source of information.
The question is why you didn’t tell us which bullet point was untrue and debate it. You couldn’t. You had to use something else to put unreliable data together.
I see you dropped your name, Sigmund Fraud. Now that all recognize you as a fraud, you return to your anonymous name.
There is a difference between making “errors” and deliberately telling lies.
Gatestone doesn’t make “errors”.
They deliberately publish lies and completely false stories. When called out, and proven to be lying, they retract the stories.
They have zero credibility.
There is absolutely nothing to debate regarding the veracity of Gatestone’s stories. They are proven liars, so it is reasonable to simply dismiss them without debate.
There is as much point in “debating” the veracity of Gatestone, as there is in debating whether the Earth is flat, or whether the moon is made of cheese.
Debate is pointless. Your posts are pointless.
You are an extremist living in a world that is completely untethered from reality, truth and reason.
Since you apparently put your faith in proven liars, then you can also be dismissed without debate.
You are dismissed.
Nothing but empty rhetoric from an empty fraudster, Sigmund Fraud.
Let’s hear a few of those lies. Since Gatestone retracts so few, you must have tons of those lies on your desk. Will you discuss them? No, because you are a fraud who cannot deal with facts. Alternatively, you have a lot of points from Gatesone sitting in front of you. Pick out some lies to discuss. Again, you can’t because you are ignorant of the facts and need outside help to put your lies together.
Again you display your profound stupidity and ignorance.
You demand that I discuss the lies told by Gatestone !!!!
“Pick out some lies to discuss” you demand.
For what purpose ???
What would be the point ???
Gatestone tells lies, then openly admits telling lies in retractions.
What is there to discuss ???
Since Gatestone already admits lying, the only possible discussion points would be how egregious and misleading those lies are.
You seem to think that I am accusing Gatestone of lying, without evidence.
Gatestone openly admits lying when they retract stories.
I am simply pointing out lies that THEY have already admitted, but apparently you are eager to believe these lies.
This is severely disturbed thinking, but apparently typical of the MAGA cult who swallow Trump’s lies on a daily basis.
The empty rhetoric is yours, and yours alone.
Try to get a grip on reality.
You are profoundly stupid and mentally impaired, just like John Say, the Stupid
What I find so telling is your claim that Gatestone lies, yet you cannot point to one lie in the article I posted. You cannot even discuss your statements, and we know why. You didn’t compile or put the compilation together. You don’t know your own arguments.
Yes, that is who you are, a know-nothing dancing around naked of facts without the slightest embarrassment. I imagine this isn’t the first time you found yourself in that position.
I am not trying to “argue” anything.
I am not “claiming” that Gatestone lies. They admit their lies.
I am simply pointing out the Gatestone has no credibility. They have a history of deliberately publishing false stories, then admitting their lies in retractions.
If you choose to believe anything they say, then that is your problem, not mine.
In my world, the world of reality, if someone repeatedly lies to me, then I never believe anything that they say ever again about anything. Once a liar, always a liar.
However you are gullible enough to believe what they say, even when they admit that they publish false stories.
I don’t know whether anything in the article you posted is true or not, and I really don’t care. All I know is that Gatestone are self-admitted liars. On that basis alone, nothing they say can be trusted to be true.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that normal people believe that self-admitted liars are not to be trusted.
Ohhh, wait.
You are in the MAGA cult. That explains everything about how willing you are to accept obvious falsehoods.
“I am not trying to “argue” anything.
I am not “claiming” that Gatestone lies.”
Just reading that one sentence makes one cringe that this Fraud graduated from an American school.
“I am simply pointing out the Gatestone has no credibility.”
The Fraud thinks he has credibility. Let’s all laugh at the same time.
“In my world, the world of reality, “
Your world starts with a leftist talking point and ends there. That is why you cannot discuss your claims. You are not even smart enough to give up repeating yourself. Keep going. I enjoy the laugh.
I have little problems with your evaluation.
But I would never have bet on peace in Ireland.
The Irish have been fighting for 1000 years.
Today there is actual peace, and Ireland is prosperous.
I do not have the answer in Israel – I do not think there is an actual answer.
Israel can not eradicate Hamas by force – that is not a judgement just a fact.
I have no problems with the conduct of the IDF – they have had less civilian casualties in the worst of conditions – Urban conflict than the US did in Afghanistan and Iraq.
But attempting to defeat Hamas milirarily does not work. Ever dead Hamas soldier spawns 2 new ones.
I do not think that any of the nonsense from European Wing nuts is meaningful.
What matters most is the support Hamas receives from other Arab countries – and that is complicated.
You ranted about Qatar – and deservedly so, But most of these arab nations are totalitarian and need to avoid a revolution among their people. We are better off with the totalitarian arab leaders than the islamic fundimentalist revoultions that are possible in those countries.
Providing support for Hamas is a significant political strategy to molify islamic fundimentalists in their population.
At the same time there is Hope. The higher the standard of living in these countries – the less hold islamic fundimentalism has and the less people care about Hamas.
While Trump deserves credit – especially for knowing the Abraham accords were possible, the big factor driving them was that increasingly Arab leaders are not worried about a revolution from islamic fundimentalists – and that is because standards of living have risen. And the abraham accords will raise them even further.
My long run hope for Israel is that as the Qatari’s and Saudi’s – those two are the big players have less and less reason to care about Hamas and more and more reason to care about israel that the palestinians will be forced into real negotiations from lack of support elsewhere.
The West Bank is more complicated – But as Trump pointed out – Gaza should be wealthy, instead it is suffering self inflicted starvation.
Regardless, I am greatly encouraged because West Bank Palestinians stayed out of the current conflict.
In fact a number of palestinian sheiks have approached israel looking for a deal – Autonomy within their teritory in return for recognition of Israel. And they did this in the midst of this conflict.
Peace is possible, but it is not going to come from the defeat of Hamas by force of arms.
And I do not think the current negotiations will bring it about.
It happens when Qatar and the Saudis no longer need to care about the Palestinians – and I would bet big money that Qatari and Saudi leaders would drop Hamas in a heart beat if they were not worried about their own people.
Iran is also a factor – though not now. Israel has cut the land bridge from Iran to Lebanon and that has an enormous impact on Iran’s ability to fund terror. Iran is also on the back foot from not just the destruction of their nuclear program, but the destruction of their energy infrastructure. Frankly Iran is an antifundimentalist revolution waiting to happen. But in the mean time Iran does not have the money to do what it needs to to prevent a revolution, fund terror, and rebuild its nuclear program – all while the world is sanctioning it oil.
I would further note that Trump’s “Drill, Baby, Drill” energy policy has global impacts.
it disempowers Iran, it disempowers Russia, it ever create problems for China.
It is also part of the reorientation of the global economy and security relationships that Trump foresaw (he did not cause it).
Europe is increasingly not only responsible for itself, but for Russia and north africa and the mideast (and Africa as a whole). So long as the US is getting energy domestically and from the western hemisphere – we have no national security interest in Europe and Africa, and the mideast. For much of modern history – Africa, the Mideast, and eastern europe have been a European problem – we are returning to that.
Conversely the US is more focused than ever on the western hemisphere – The Munroe doctrine is prescient.
But you need to add to that the Pacific rim. AU, NZ, JP, Philipines, Taiwan Vietnam, …. are MORE important to the US than Europe. That is where our security interests lie.
Maybe as Xi falters – so we hope US relations with China will improve again. It is beter to have China as a friend than an enemy – just as we should have spent the past 40 years making Russia a freind not an enemy.
John, thank you for your reply above and this one as well.
I don’t bet one way or the other; instead, I discuss probabilities and the nature of the conflict. The Irish and Israeli conflicts are too different to discuss and draw any conclusions from.
“Israel can not eradicate Hamas by force”
Hamas is both an organization and an idea. Organizations can be destroyed, but ideas persist. They can be controlled until they eventually are forgotten. The US has similar problems with ISIS and other groups, only able to tamp the violence down but not eradicate it.
Why? One of the problems is the nature of Islamist extremists. They are a culture of death, willing to die for no good reason. There can be no peace unless the world is willing to eradicate terrorists. There would be peace in Israel today if the European nations weren’t constantly giving hope to a lost cause. Instead, nations all over the world support Islamic extremists at one time or another.
Israel has won many wars that were stopped before the Arab defeat. To end a war there has to be a victor, and the West has never permitted victory stopping the war prematurely and giving hope that the next war Israel will fall. That will not happen in this case because Israel is defending its history and its people. The Islamists didn’t care about Israel needing to create stories about how important Jerusalem is to them. Check for yourself, as present Islamic claims to Jerusalem are hollow.
“The higher the standard of living in these countries – the less hold islamic fundimentalism has and the less people care about Hamas.”
We have seen that happen, and it always remains a possibility, but remember that is one of the considerations Israel had, and Oct 7 was the result.
“Regardless, I am greatly encouraged because West Bank Palestinians stayed out of the current conflict.”
Unfortunately, not completely.
“In fact a number of palestinian sheiks have approached israel looking for a deal – Autonomy within their teritory”
That is a deal I discussed a little while ago. It has been suggested by Mordecai Kadar, but it is not as simple as it might seem. We have to wait to see what comes of it, but know that this idea is not brand new.
“Peace is possible, but it is not going to come from the defeat of Hamas by force of arms.”
The Arab world disagrees with you. When there is weakness from their enemy, they attack, but withdraw when they are weak. Read the Koran and look at history.
“And I do not think the current negotiations will bring it about.”
Negotiations are a joke because “From the river to the sea” is their motto; the destruction of Israel.
It is the attitude of other countries that keeps the war going. If Israel were permitted to act like any other nation, this war would have been over in less than a week.
“Qatari and Saudi leaders would drop Hamas in a heart beat”
There are many considerations. Ask yourself why hasn’t the US declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization (many Arab nations have)? Just wait, I think Trump is considering that, and that will go a long way in defusing Islamic radicals. We got close to getting it into the RNC’s platform in 2016.
Thank you for this discussion
The Palestinian state should be relocated entirely to Doha, Qatar?
S. Meyer, while your comment was possibly off-topic, couldn’t resist responding to it. Stated simply:
Britain, Canada and Australia have acknowledged the existence of “The State of Palestine”. May be displaying outright ignorance, but when position was publicized had trouble figuring what it meant:
1. Which government did these “States” acknowledge? The Fatah controlled Palestinian National Authority (PNA) which is, of course, a puppet of Hamas, or Hamas itself?
2. Was this acknowledgement of consent that the Palestinian National Authority still has the right and power to launch military attacks against Israel particularly targeted at civilians
3. Was that approval consent in the torture, murder and starvation of existing hostages who were (and are) taken in these military attacks – not to mention the rocket attacks from positions protected by screens of children and civilians from counter attack?
4. Are they in consent of the Hamas’ current “anti-zionist” revision from the antisemitism in their Charter in 2017
5. Are they just trying to say nicely the attack, murder, and genocide against anyone labeled “Zionist” is appropriate.
“’I Believe that Creature is a Changeling’: Hillary Clinton and the [Loss] of Shame in American Politics”
– Professor Turley

Sen. Joe McCarthy is used as a manifestation of shame.
Sen. Joe McCarthy was anything but shameful; in fact, he was a modern Paul Revere warning of the looming final conquest of the communist invasion.
The communists won:
Enjoying no citable legal basis, the entire communist American welfare state is unconstitutional including, but not limited to, admissions affirmative action, grade-inflation affirmative action, employment affirmative action, quotas, welfare, food stamps, minimum wage, rent control, social services, forced busing, public housing, utility subsidies, CRT, DEI, WIC, SNAP, TANF, HAMP, HARP, TARP, PBS, NPR, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Environmental Protection Agency, Agriculture, Education, Labor, Energy, Obamacare, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Social Security Supplemental Income, Medicare, Medicaid, “Fair Housing” laws, “Non-Discrimination” laws, etc.
Article 1, Section 8, provides Congress the power to tax for ONLY debt, defense, and “general Welfare”–ALL or THE WHOLE WELL PROCEED through governmental provision of security and basic infrastructure–omitting and, thereby, excluding any power to tax for individual Welfare, specific Welfare, particular Welfare, favor, or charity. The same Article enumerates and provides Congress the power to regulate ONLY the Value of money, Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes, and land and naval Forces.
Further, the 5th Amendment right to private property was initially qualified by the Framers and is, therefore, absolute, allowing no further qualification, and allowing ONLY the owner the power to “claim and exercise” dominion over private property. “The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property,” Karl Marx. That’s what the communists in America did.
Government exists, under the Constitution and Bill of Rights, to provide maximal freedom to individuals while government is severely limited and restricted to facilitating that maximal freedom of individuals through the provision of security and infrastructure.
The Necessary and Proper Clause is nothing more than a perfunctory redundancy for the purposes of clarification—a reinforcement of that which was previously codified—and may not be wielded to amend and impose separate acts that do not represent but alter the letter and spirit of the Founders and Framers.
Karl Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto 59 years after the adoption of the Constitution because none of the principles of the Communist Manifesto were in the Constitution. Had the principles of the Communist Manifesto been in the Constitution, Karl Marx would have had no reason to write the Communist Manifesto. The principles of the Communist Manifesto were not in the Constitution then, and the principles of the Communist Manifesto are not in the Constitution now.
Jonathan: In your column [“Charlie Kirk and the Age of Rage”, 9/15] you alleged the murderer of Charlie Kirk was motivated by the Dems and “evidence of Antifa scribblings and indoctrination of the shooter came as no surprise. For months, some of us have been warning Democratic leaders about there dangerous rhetoric and how it would be received by the most radical elements of the Antifa movement”. Is there any evidence for your claims?
NBC News reported yesterday that federal investigators have yet to find “a link between the alleged shooter…and left wing groups on which President Trump and his administration have pledged to crack down after the killing…”. NBC says one person connected with the investigation said “Every indication so far is that this was a guy who did one really bad thing because he found Kirk’s ideology personally offensive”. There is evidence for this proposition. Local Utah police officials describe Robinson’s unnamed roommate as “a biological male who was involved in a romantic relationship” with Robinson and is transitioning to female. One text from Robinson to his roommate says “I had enough with his [Kirk’s] hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated”. Kirk was noted for railing against the LGBTQ+ community and this may have motivated the killer.
Despite your claims and those by DJT and Steven Miller there appears no connection between Robinson and some “vast domestic terror movement”. Robinson was a home grown Mormon Utah young man from a MAGA family that taught him how to use weapons of mass destruction. He had no connection to either domestic or international terrorist groups. He had a personal grudge against Kirk.
So the question is whether you will want to reconsider your original column–encouraging the “age of rage” by falsely blaming Antifa and Dem rhetoric for the killing of Charlie Kirk? Probably not. You spent years falsely claiming Hunter and Joe Biden were involved in some “vast corruption scandal”. You called for an impeachment inquiry. How did that turn out? Blaming the killing of Charlie Kirk on Antifa and the Dems will probably end the same way!
ATS
Todate there is no evidence that I am aware of – the FBI and Utah law enforcement have far more information than I do that this was a conspiracy or organized plot.
There is ALOT of evidence that Robinson surrounded himself with people who preached violence and hatred.
It is proper for law enforcement to investigate that. But no one should be charged who did not either actively participate or meet the deliberately difficult to meet standard for incitement.
At this time it appears likely that Robinson ACTED alone.
But it is already certain that many, many hateful people were involved in bringing him to the point where he assassinated another person.
Those of you on the left have said over and over – that hate speech is a crime.
If that were actually true – there are many many on the left that would be prosecuted for Kirks assassination.
Actual Hate speech is morally wrong, but it is protected free speech. You can not go to jail for it.
But you can be judged by others and found wanting. You can lose your job, your friends, your customers,
and you probably should – atleast for speech that actually meets any objective measure for hate speech.
But one of the reasons that Hate Speech is not a crime is because those on the left see hate where it is not.
Regardless, I doubt Prof. Turley is going to correct anything – he has nothing to correct.
Antifa is a Violent criminal group. It does not appear they have any links to the Kirk Assassination.
But they are involved in plenty of violence nationwide.
If as left wing nuts pretend – they are not a group – Fine, then there are a large number of individuals that should be jailed for their conduct.
As an organization what Antifa preaches is vile and disgusting. But it most instances it is still protected speech.
In this country people can say vile and disgusting things without facing government force – except when democrats are in power.
Should the Antifa be labeled a terrorist organization – sure.
Should they be investigated – certainly.
Are they DIRECTLY involved in Kirks assassination – it thus far appears not.
Are they owed an apology by anyone ? Absolutely not.
I am personally at odds with Turley – while we both agree that so called Rage Rhetoric is protected speech,
and that today it is more prevalent on the left than the right. I do not agree that it is a cause for political violence.
Political violence occurs even when speech is supressed – it may be more common.
I think people should be careful when using words that are associated with violence.
But I do not think they are the problem Turley does.
Any punishment of rage rhetoric or hate speech should be done thoroughly divorced from government
and entirely by the free choices of free individuals.
Choosing who to hire, who to fire, who to have in their church or other group, and who to associate with.
If you wish to glorify Antifa – I want to have nothing to do with you.
That is how freedom works.
Is John Say mentally unstable – absolutely.
Does John Say simply make stuff up – without a doubt.
Does John Say get his information from the voices in his head – most definitely.
Does John Say EVER offer any evidence for his assertions – NEVER.
Does John Say live in a fantasy world – no doubt.
Does John Say ramble incoherently with disconnected irrelevant thoughts – ALWAYS.
Does John Say exhibit symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder – unquestionably.
Does he also exhibit symptoms of bipolar disorder – without a doubt.
Do his endless, irrational diatribes ever make any sense – NEVER.
Does John Say always pose ridiculous nonsensical questions that he answers himself – ALL THE TIME
ATS – I take your ad hominem and hatred as a compliment.
I would be happy to be judged by who is my enemy.
As to the rest
DO YOU HAVE AN ARGUMENT ?
Or as Kirk would say
PROVE ME WRONG.
I do not owe you sources for the things I claim are facts.
No one ever does, but more importantly I have built a reputation for truth with regard to facts, and for good analysis beyond the facts.
But we are in an atleast partly free country – no thanks to you.
You are free to PROVE ME WRONG.
I would welcome an actual debate. I would especially welcome an intelligent debate.
But I have found no one here on the left capable of intelligent debate.
PROVE ME WRONG
John Say the Stupid
As I said, you live in your own little fantasy world where you believe that any thought that flitters through your diseased mind is by definition factually true.
By your own admission, you believe that you are NOT required to prove the veracity of things you claim are actual facts.
This belief that you are always infallibly right is a symptom of your profound mental illness.
You are mentally ill.
PROVE ME WRONG
John Say,
Once again, another excellent take down of the annoy moron! Well done!
“. . . have yet to find “a link between the alleged shooter…and left wing groups . . .”
Nice dishonesty via deflection.
The issue is *not* the assassin’s connection to “left wing groups.” The issue is that he was motivated by Leftist *ideas*.
Well, that didn’t age well, did it?
My wife, a liberal Jimmy Carter Democrat (pro-abortion, pro-Medicaid/Medicare for all, Bernie Bro, etc), and i (a classic liberal – individual liberty, small government and free markets) have both hated Hillary Clinton with a passion. My wife until her dying day while I have continued on with our legacy.
Her actions have poisoned this country for well over a decade. As a Senator. As Secretary of State. As a presidential candidate. Everything. I don’t even give credence to the whole Vince Foster, Jeffery Epstein, Clinton-mafia thing. Just the easy things to see like Libya, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation Pay-to-Play, the Russia=gate scandal, the authoritarianism, the call for MAGA to put into re-education camps. She is just absolute scum.
She’s now a prototypical aging white dem female; but unlike the others, she has Bill’s bullhorn.
“Bill’s bullhorn”
Is that what Monica called it?
I was going to speak to the both of them being scum, but you covered it all well.
Thanks for the unpleasant reminders of Hillary.
Deplorable all.
Never Hillary. The most vile and evil politician in our history – and that is saying something (looking at you John C. Calhoun)
The left is so full of nice folks. Like this guy

NEW: The man who shot up the ABC affiliate in Sacramento following the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel, has been identified as Anibal Hernandez-Santana.
An X account that appears to belong to Hernandez-Santana is full of anti-Trump posts, as reported by Variety.
The man, 64, previously worked as a legislative director for the California Federation of Teachers, the outlet reported.
“The authoritarian oligarchy is now complete. CBS+ caving, big law firms in DC, the subservients FBI and AG, university presidents stepping down, fan boys SCOTUS, public radio, ICE goons. We are going to have to ‘fight like hell’…” the account that appears to belong to him posted in July.
Hernandez-Santana was arrested on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm, and shooting into an occupied building.
This being CA, he will be out on the street in no time to continue the left’s revolution..
Hey dustoff can you even write a coherent sentence, a paragraph maybe? Looks like you have the mentality of a 15 year old Karen.
LOL I took something from the news report, and you complain..
Get a life leftist.
DustOff,
Anyone with any degree of common sense could see what you were doing. Thank you for pointing that out.
Common sense… you claim common sense? Thank you for pointing that out.
Um… looks like to all of us, that you are incapable of formulating a coherent sentence. Write an intelligent comment please. You too Upstate farter.
It’s a quote. Learn to read.
“. . . it’s child porn and threats of violence, things that are terribly dangerous.” (Clinton)
Far more dangerous to a country’s freedom is the demagogue who uses children to cloak her lust for power.
No, they’re both equally dangerous. Both autocratic government and moral decay stalk our great Republic.
On this day we’re honoring Charlie Kirk, we’d still have him but for decadent, extremist individualism that festers online. When anarchy like that sets in, it’s a measure of being too permissive….of overdosing on freedom.
Wow! Moral decay, decadent individualism etc… Sounds like you’re the one with the problem friend.
The Clintons are yesterday. They’re irrelevant. Why not focus on pending decisions that matter, such as snuffing out the dark web — or isolating it from a new Secure Internet trustworthy, law-abiding Americans will be able to join?
We (Americans) invented and built out borderless infrastructure that excluded law enforcement in its design. It’s time to go back and make repairs.
There are so many complex issues facing us. A column about Hillary is just escapist infotainment.
Actually it is a little more than entertainment
Turley is just shovelling chum to the MAGA mob to keep them distracted and riled up.
They are like Pavlov’s dogs. He rings the bell and they all mindlessly come running, slobbering and salivating uncontrollably.
He is desperately trying to avoid the actual issues, such as the Trump administration’s assault on the First Amendment, for which he supposedly is a champion, but refuses to discuss for obvious partisan reasons.
Forget all that and send me a recipe for chocolate cake.
Why should we pay the slightest atention to claims of first amendment infringement to those who think:
Protesting a rigged ellection at the preeminent free speech forumn in the world – the US capitol is insurrection ?
Government should have a ministry of disinformation to organize the censorship of ideas those running government do not like ?
That government should pressure banks to debank conservatives for their speech ?
That government agencies should direct social media to censor conservatives ?
That government should pay third parties to direct social media to censor conservatives ?
That the IRS should target conservatives ?
That the FBI should target parents of school students ?
That the FBI should target catholic churches ?
This is a SHORT list of the infringements on the first amendment that are no longer happening that occured under Biden and Obama.
If you were not protesting those – why should anyone take you seriously for ranting about Trump ?
If you beleive hate speech is not protected speech – what leg do you have to stand on if the government MIGHT be going after left wing hate speech ?
Next – what is this assault on free speech that you have suddenly taken an interest in – after more than a decade of increasing left wing nut censorship ?
As YOU have repeatedly pointed out – the first amendment does not prohibit private actors like Facebook from deciding what content they will allow.
Why doesn’t that also apply to other private actors – like colleges and TV networks ?
If you beleive that Trump and the FCC applied undue influence to ABC and disney – fine – lets rehire Kimmel – and see how long he lasts – before Sinclair and Nexstar drop him like a rock.
Before Erica Kirk and the MAGA crowd file an Alex Jones like trillion dollar defamation lawsuit in the reddest district they can find.
Before Iger cans him for refusing to apologize for blatantly false content.
Before his ratings drop even further and no one will rescue ABC.
Before ABC/Disney receive the Full Bud Light treatment and Disney stock loses another 100B dollars.
We can debate where Trump or Carr should have said some of the things they said – even though SCOTUS long ago found the FCC had the power to censor political speech over the air.
But there is no debate that Kimmels departure was inevitable – nor is it likely to be the last left wing host to bite the dust.
There is a massive surplus of left wing nut expression – compared to the public demand.
In 2017 Trump’s election provided a boost to the MSM – the attack Trump 24×7 strategy worked and sustained otherwise flagging demand for left wing nut content.
But it is 2025 – and people no longer trust the left wing nut media and the demand is just not there
and screaming nazi facist ever louder is not getting any ratings.
I have no problems with allowing the market to decide – Of the top 4 left wing nut late night hosts – there is at best enough market for two – and probably not that.
The market can pick who survives.
That is free people making free decisions on their own who they will watch – and they have rejected the left wing nut MSM.
That is how liberty works.
What nonsense. See a psychiatrist.
Try a mirror ano
“Hey annony moron can you even write a coherent sentence, a paragraph maybe? Looks like you have the mentality of a 15 year old Karen.”
You hide, not even having the courage to be pseudo-anon while spamming some of the most delusional crap I’ve ever seen. The funny part is how clear it is that you live in the left-wing bubble. That itself is ironic because what we know about the left is they, not conservatives, reject news not in the bubble.
According to Pew, hardly a conservative bastion, the average conservative in the US gets 35% of his news from liberals sources. That is SEVEN TIMES THE AMOUNT the left gets outside their bubble.
Not only that, but at every age, a liberal is twice likely to have a mental illness than a conservative.
You are inarguably what is wrong with the left.
You have not engaged in open and honest debate.
You have merely resorted to hate speech – ad hominem and insult.
If there is any merit to your beliefs, your values, you should be able to defend your positions.
PROVE ME WRONG
John Say,
Well said.

The rule of law requires us to follow the laws we have
and change the law and constitution when we beleive it is wrong.
Changing the law and the constitution requires the consent of the governed.
Pissing all over them is a surefire way to ensure you do not get their consent.
You are quite literally the opposite of Kirk. Kirk when out to people who hated him
gave them the opportunity to persuade him – in return for the opportunity to persuade them.
What he did NOT do is what you do all the time – is insult the people he wanted to persuade.

We do not build any aspect of our lives prioritizing law enforcement.
We do so prioritizing individual liberty – that is what our declaration requires – that is what the constitution requires.
I respect the law and law enforcement – I am still not going to allow them to search my home without a warrant.
There are bad things that happen on the dark web – but the dark web is also a critical means of protecting our freedom.
Just as Black markets grow the more control a state takes over the economy.
And in fact socialist systems can not even work without black markets,
the dark web is mostly the same – it would disappear if we had less government regulation of the internet that restricted freedom.
Do you want to give even more power to regimes like Xi in China – or the EU or UK that punish free speech.
To answer your question, I do very much value the freedom I was born into. I want to pass it along to grandkids. But, I feel it slipping away when someone like Charlie Kirk is assassinated. That’s anarchy. That’s extreme individualism. The dark web fosters and empowers criminal activity, and therefore is a forum for evil-doers.
I liken where we are with the internet to the early days of automobile driving. It was anonymous and unregulated. Most people used the new tech to get from point A to B. But, a sub-culture of reckless, hedonistic driving “for sport” set in, and you had hit-and-run drivers who ducked responsibility for deaths, injuries and property damage. Our grandparents had common sense, and after about 20 years of reckless driving carnage, established licensing of drivers and vehicles — or in modern tech lingo — trusted actor architecture.
We’re headed into the same correction for the internet. There is just too much crime. Every day, dozens of US organizations are hit with extortion waged by foreign enemies (governments and cartels). If a major war breaks out, the US is sorely unprepared for all-out-cyberwar that will cripple our energy, public utilities, food supply and banking system. This all because the designers of the internet were expedient, cut-corners and rationalized away criticism-at-the-time about undercutting rule-of-law. “We’ll solve that later” was the mantra.
It’s later. Freedom isn’t just about freedom from oppressive government. It’s also about freedom from crime.
Freedom from foreign attack. Maximum freedom is a sweet spot where all 3: government, criminals and foreign enemies are put in a box, all the while posterity’s ability to enjoy this same freedom is safeguarded.
A Secure Internet is coming, and if we do it right, it will only enhance freedom. It won’t be that different from drivers licensing. Those caught breaking the law using their internet privilege will face suspension or revocation of their connected computer privilege. Our grandparents knew what they were doing. They had common sense, and didn’t make the mistake of going overboard with government regulation of the new motive technology.
Well said pb. It will evolve into the wide gate and narrow gate. The wide gate is for lawless.
*.^^^ the gates are AI gateways. It’s actually every kind of lawful or unlawful gate. The door to a person’s home is also a gate. Lawful.entry is to knock and wait for the door to be opened. Windows are unlawful entry gates. Ports are lawful gates. Unlawful is the remainder of borders. Borders are gates.
The spirit of words and laws applies.
First – thank you for an intelligent response.
“The dark web fosters and empowers criminal activity, and therefore is a forum for evil-doers.”
Absolutely, when we do not have freedom within normal society – it WILL get created elsewhere.
And that elsewhere MUST by virtue of being divorced from law enforcement – whose threat to liberty is precisely why people moved SOME people moved elsewhere is automatically going to be lawless, and criminals will seek to take advantage in many ways.
But the cause of black markets or undergrounds is the govenrments threat to individual liberty.
If you want the rule of law – you must have a system with sufficient liberty that almost no one has the need to go underground.
In the US we have the war on Drugs – we have been fighting it my entire life. Government has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the militarization of law enforcement.
Do not get me wrong – I want the removal of criminals from the country.
But we will have the criminality associated with drugs for so long as we force those who want those drugs underground. Many places have tried decriminalizing drugs. It has not reduced drug use anywhere – though it has tended not to increase it. but it has reduced crime.
I would further note – the silk road. Which was the jewel in the dark web increased the safety of drugs, decreased overdoses and decreased violent crime. Turns out that buying and selling drugs in a free market – even an illegal free market does far more good than the war on drugs.
“I liken where we are with the internet to the early days of automobile driving. It was anonymous and unregulated. Most people used the new tech to get from point A to B. But, a sub-culture of reckless, hedonistic driving “for sport” set in, and you had hit-and-run drivers who ducked responsibility for deaths, injuries and property damage. Absolutely early autotravel was dangerous – Everything new is that way – the same was true of early air travel and early sea travel.
But as with many many many other things there is little evidence that the subsequent improvements were really the result of government.
First cars become available – a toy of the rich. But they are unreliable and dangerous.
Then they became more affordable – because you can ALWAYS do better selling toilet paper to everyone than Diamonds to the wealthy – there is a reason the richest family in the World is Walmart – and that Bezos is richer than god, While Harry winston is merely rich.
Regardless when something becomes affordable – everyone wants it.
And the next thing that happens is that it gets ever cheaper AND better in most every way – including safer.
That is true of cars. it is true of most everything.
For about 5 years I was doing embedded software development at a local company that also had a factory.
While my work had little to do with that, I did pay attention. OSHA never showed up – they did not need to.
The factory safety rules were very serious. US businesses today can not afford the costs associated with on the job injuries. Aside from the loss of skilled personel – an injury decreases production and increases the rate of error. ISO 9000 stnadards require production defect rates of six sigma – about one defect in 3.7M parts.
That is really difficult to acheive – but most US manufacturers acheive it. Part of that is safety.
You can also observe this by going into the past – before the regulatory state, and observing the exact same patterns of improvement prior to the advent of laws about everything.
John Stuart Mill observered in 1838 that democracy was the form of govenrment most destructive of individual liberty – because a King can only get away with restricting liberty so much before facing revolution.
While the majority can impose draconian rules on everyone and we grudgingly tolerate what we would never put up with from a king.
Regardless, Throughout the 15th-19th century the world – and particularly the west became more prosperous and safer, life expectance rose. The safety of most everything slowly improved.
Absymal by modern standards, but far better than what came before – without any regulation.
One area that most of us are atleast loosely familiar with is heat and light.
We went from burning wood, and dung – 16th century london – BEFORE the industrial revolution had air that was far more poluted than anything modern humans have seen. Moving from wood and dung to coal RADICALLY improved that. Moving to oil and Gas improved it again. Most of the air polution in the past 500 years came from heating homes – not cars or factories. We only noticed the polution of factories and cars – when the polution in homes was significantly reduced. And all this happened BEFORE any regulation.
Most are familiar with Rockefeller – but somehow think that the rise of standard oil was about Cars.
Standard oil’s birth was the move from Wood and coal for heat and light to kerosene and oil – it had nothing to do with cars. They came much later. Oil was sold as CLEAN heat – which it was for the time.
And kerosene and oil not only replaced wood and coal but also whale oil and its negative environment impact.
I watched Burns excellent documentary on the Dust Bowl – the documentary – and history credits FDR and “modern farming” with ending the dust bowl – but self evident in Burn’s documentary is that it did NOT.
The dust bowl was caused by a natural drought – one that occured on a regular cycle, but the one starting in the 30’s was worse than normal. While better farming methods then and since have improved farming.
They did NOT work to put even a dent in the dust bowl. Nor would they in the modern era.
The dust bowl ended when the drought ended and the rains returned. It has not returned because we subsequently discovered a massive aquifer running from Canada to the gulf underneath the great plans.
You have to go down several hundred feet for water – but there is a massive amount there – and so the dustbowl has never returned.
Regulation did not end the dust bowl – nature did and then Humans innovated.
i would note – we get this everywhere.
In my area KFOs are a really big deal – Factory farms. These are unbeleivably productive,
But when you shrink what normally takes place on hundreds of acres to a few – you get all the waste that would have been dispersed on hundreds of acres in a few. We have had massive probelms with KFO’s.
But they are all going away slowly – Why ? I post as John B Say – that is a psuedonum based on the French Economist Jean Batiste Say – the creator of Says Law – often called the law of supply and demand.
On e of the coralaries of the laws of supply and demand is that supply creates its own demand.
Absolutely anything we have in enormous quantities – someone will figure out how to use to make into something valueable. Even $hit. KFO’s like every improvemnt in production in the past work to turn any waste into a product. Even if that new product loses money – so long as the losses are less than the cost to dispose of the waste it is still a win win.
If a mexican chicken farmer desides to eat one of his own chickens – 50% of that chick ends up as waste – in the trash. That is a small problem for one farmer and an occasonal chicken.
But Tyson processes millions of chickens a year. 97.9% of what goes into a tyson plant comes out as a product.
because having to dispose of 50% of millions of chickens is incredibly expensive.
For the most part municipal recylcing laws do not apply to businesses and industry – why ? Because they have been recycling for decades.
We all know many of the environmental horror – but most of these are actually tied to WWII.
During the war – the overarching goal beyond all else was winning the war. There was little or no concern given to waste. We did not have the time to or resources to spend dealing with waste – we dumped it in rivers, and burried it and just got it out of the way – and then we spent more than 2 decades dealing with it.
Most of the clean up of our air and water and land that has occured since WWII has been done completely independent of regulations. Still today the biggest poluter of land and water in the US is the govenrment.
It is a myth to beleive that laws beyond those restricting the use of force or fraud have had any economic or societal benefit.
I have a very smart friend who rants endlessly about electric cars. Contra environmentalists – they are horribly inefficient – as they MUST be. All use of energy is at some point or another the result of a chemical reaction – nearly always oxidation – Burning for fossil fuels. An internal combustion engine only has to carry ONE of the fuel components with it – hydrocarbons – it gets the oxygen from the air as it moves down the road.
It is impossible to beat that for efficiency. Even an electric car – requires the production of electricity – most likely by combustion somewhere, then inefficient transmission, and then highly inefficient storage in the car.
No battery EVER comes within a factor of 5 of the energy density of fossil fuels.
Barring breakthroughs that are no where to be seen and not likely in my lifetime an electric car can never be as efficient as an internal combustion vehicle.
But energy efficiently is not and never has been the driving force for human choices.
Electric cars may or may not actually polute as much – or more. But NOT in our homes and in our cites.
They are quite, initially they have been a luxury. As I point out to my friend – they do NOT need to live up to the environmental hype. They just have to be more attractive to people who want to buy them.
Clean has ALWAYS been a major driver of human choices – and electric cars are massively cleaner – atleast in the places that humans directly experience them. And to the extent they are NOT – like KFO’s they do all their polluting hundreds of miles away in Mass where that pollution can be converted into a product.
I am just using EVs as an example, that most people are familiar with.
“We’re headed into the same correction for the internet.”
I certainly hope not – we already have far too much government in the internet.
“There is just too much crime.”
What crime would that be ?
You can get rid of most “financial crime” – by getting rid of stupid drug laws.
That will not fix our drug problems – but it will fix alot of out organized crime problem.
Organized crime only exists were stupid laws provide the means for ORGANIZED means to make money outside the law.
“Every day, dozens of US organizations are hit with extortion waged by foreign enemies (governments and cartels). ”
Much of which is the result of weaknesses in the internet BECAUSE government does not want it to be secure.
I use something called SSH every day all the time. It has many uses – but just one of those is secure communications. it is almost 50 years old and has NEVER been hacked. I am not trying to sell SSH – just pointing out that solutions to security problems not only exist – they have for almost 50 years.
You probably think of crpto currencies as the domain of criminals.
What they actually are is a completely impregnable replacement for our entire finance system – not JUST money. but debit cards, credit cards, receipts, proof of ownership, proof of credit.
While they are slowly winning – especially in less developed countries – the Chinese as example hae entirely skipped credit and debit cards and have gone from one of the worst finance systems int he world to one of the best.
But the Chinese also introduce the reason that crypto has not taken off in the west.
The chinese do NOT use the existing open source crypto – they use government created crypto – that while far far far more secure from hackers and theives than in the west, deliberately allows the chinese governemnt to know exactly what you are doing – and reward or punish you based on it.
In the US and the West the war over crytpo has been the war over government control.
Over backdoors and whether crytpo becomes a tool of greater freedom or a tool for greater opression as it has become for the chinese. Ultimately I think that the government is goint o LOSE this fight – the benefits of the Crypto we already have are far greater than the risks associated with anything government regulates into being.
We should have replaced debit and credit cards long ago. A crypto transaction clears in seconds. Debit cards take hours, and credit cards take as much as a month.
In the US there is $2T tied up in credit for debti and credit cards EVERYDAY.
Crypto would reduce that to almost nothing and free up $2T EVERYDAY to be invested elsewhere.
Because that is what credit is – wealth available to be invested.
Regardless all the systems that you are worried about could be secured easily – If govenrment got out of the way and did not demand to regulate in backdoors for their control.
Today you can send an email or document to someone. You can do so securely – so that only the person intended gets it and even if someone else manages to get a copy – only the intended person can read it.
That technology has existed for 50 years. It has even been in use in a manual form for much of that time.
Even today – disidents, human rights groups, spies, etc EASILY communicate throughout the world without fear their communications will be read – and that has been true for most of 50 years – and yes Terrorists do the same.
But the govenrmnent has actively interfered in wide spread adoption of this ability – because even though today you can send messages that even the US NSA can not easily read, the NSA tracks criminals and terrorists – not by READING their communications, but by TRACKING their communications. If you send something encrypted over he internet – it sticks out like a sore thumb – atleast to the NSA.
This was one of the problems with enigma during WWII – While Turing did crack enigma – we were only about to read about 1/4 of German messages. But we gained enormous information just watching who was talking to who. The same is true of terrorists and criminals today. The Government does not want Crypto to become commonplace – because once it is – they will not be able to distinguish the messages of terrorists and criminals from the rest of us. But this is a losing game. Increasingly businesses are implimenting secure communications.
Everytime there is a hack due to poor security the businesses hacked respond with better security – including encrpted messaging.
Most of us are now familiar with Telegram and Signal – but there are also proprietary systems.
Regardless, the more encrpted traffice there is the harder it will be to track criminals and terrorists.
So government is fighting a losing battle and making us all less secure in the process.
A enormous percent of viruses and extortion schemes are the result of insecure communications – a problem we had the ability to solve 50 years ago. I would note that increasingly – web traffic is protected by ssl as is some email, and Amazon uses encrytion with its AWS system.
Government has already lost the cyrpto battle – but ordinary people have not seen the benefit.
I beleive there is about $32B in russian credit card fraud in the US alone each year – that would be entirely eliminated by crypto transactions – that are possible today.
In large portions of the world – ATMs will use bitcoin – but not in the US.
The problems you want solved were solved long ago – our govenrnent has prevented you from getting those benefits easily – though you can get the benfits on your own – if you wish to do manually what can easily be done automatically.
The govenrmnent is fighting these systems – unless backdoors are added.
Backdoors pose two huge problem – no backdoor is unhackable so you introduce a massive security vulnerability.
And 2nd – you end up with 1984’s big brother on the chinese scale.
“This all because the designers of the internet were expedient, cut-corners and rationalized away criticism-at-the-time about undercutting rule-of-law. ”
False, The internet was designed in the 60’s as a resilient closed military network – Security was established because you did not have access – unless you were military. I would further note that at the time – nodes were either connected via Dedicated telephone lines or through modems. You could not even connect without permission. Later the arpanet was expanded to colleges for defense research, but it was still a closed net – you could not get on without permission.
I would further note that the power of systems at that time was far below what was needed for encrypted communications.
RSA – one of the earliest public/private key systems was not developed until 1977.
Ethernet was not introduced until 1980. HTTP which is the foundation of the modern was was in 1990.
IPV6 which is far more secure and simpler than IPV4 which is mostly still only used in the US was developed in 1998.
IPV4 – which si still what the US uses was developed to work reliably over highly unreliable networks over modems and every possibly immaginable crappy datalink. IPV6 sacrifices alot of the features to deal with really really really bad net links in return for simplicity, much larger scale and greater security.
In the late 80s we had anon.petit.fi – which allowed secure email communications between two parties that were untraceable and unhackable. anon.petit.fi initially server disidents, spies, and human rights workers.
Shortly after Phil Zimmerman developed PGP – which is a public/private key system that can be used over email.
Except for the fact that it is clear that PGP encrypted messages are encrypted – therefor they scream that they contain secret information. PGP was and remains secure. Today it is possible to use PGP with ordinary email clients and easily send messages than no one but the intended recipient will ever be able to read.
Public/Private key systems – not only provide security, but they also provide verification of identity.
If you received a PP message you KNOW exactly who it came from.
Later PP systems evolved into the cyrpto systems we have today like bitcoin and etherium.
This is also how NFT’s work today – you can buy a digital work from someone and you can prove you own it, and that you have one of only X number of copies. And it is impossible to forge.
My point is that we have and have had the systems needed to secure our systems for a very long time.
Broad depolyment has been very slow because the government has resisted it. For a very long time the US government refused to allow software encrption to be sold outside the US.
You could write a book on RSA or the agloritms used in a secure system. You could write code – that did not have the encryption in it, and then export it and software developers outside the US had to put the encryption back in from instructions in the book.
Another major change over time is that the computer systems decades ago did not have the horsepower to do both encryption/decryption and everything else they needed to do. Today encryption and decryption can be done in hardware – even the hardware in the tiny computers that are in devices like your smart light bulbs.
Regardless, my point is that the security that you want has been arround for decades. It has not had widespread use – because government does not want that. But that is a losing game, because as I said – even smart light bulbs are using public/private key systems to encrypt traffic.
And when I say government does not want something – I mean OUR government.
With respect to “crime” – that is double edged. Today the criminals have almost the best of both worlds – organized criminals use good encryption systems and crypto currencies. Because Everyone does not use these – law enforcement can do traffic analysis – just like they did with enigma in WWII and even if they do not know what is being said or how much money is moving – they can what who is communicating or exchanging funds with who.
But because these same systems are NOT mostly being used by the rest of us – government can trace those who are using them, But the rest of us do NOT benefit from the security – we can get our email, our computers, our credit cards hacked. This is changing slowly despite govenrment – and as it changes – governments ability to do trafic analysis diminishes – because the more legitimate encrypted traffic there is the less easy it is to spot the bad guys.
Read what I wrote above – the solutions have been available for 50 years.
“It’s later. Freedom isn’t just about freedom from oppressive government. It’s also about freedom from crime.”
While contra the left crime has gone up since 2020. It is not near where it was 60 years ago – the long term trend has been DOWN not up. While you are more likely to be a crime victim than in 2020, you are less likely than in 2010 and 2000, and 1980 – that is true in the US and most of the world. This is particularly true of violent crime. What government wants to do to invade your privacy does almost nothing to reduce the odds that you are murdered, assaulted robbed or even have your credit card defrauded. The systems that government has fought for decades – would prevent – possibly entirely eliminate credit card fraud or pretty much all possible theft involving digital transfers – you still could have your cash stolen – if you keep using cash rather than crypto.
But you can not steal cypto. If someone actually stole your digital wallet – and you had it in a form in which it could be stolen, they could not spend the money. That too stops theft.
But it would be easier to buy drugs safely on line without having to deal directly with potentially violent criminals.
I would further note that while the FBI shut down “the Silk Road” – it was ultimately replaced by a completely distributed system – a pear to pear system somewhat like bittorrent that the govenrment can not hack or shutdown. To catch dark web drug dealers – they either have to make a mistake, or they have to trace the physical transfer of the drugs – i.e. old fashioned police work. Digital systems do not thwart drug sniffing dogs.
“Freedom from foreign attack.”
The foreign attacks you are worred about are mostly possible because the US government opted for being able to trace net traffic decades ago over security – securing the internet is not all that hard – but it will come at the price of thwarting lots of law enforcement traffic analysis tools.
Further – you can secure the internet up the whazzoo – it does not alter physical vulnerabilities.
A half a dozen “terrorists” with bows and arrows could take down the US eastern power grid – we are working on that – but it is not a computer vulnerability, and in fact it is computers that will solve it. ]
Portions of our systems remain vulnerable to EMP weapons – though there is little public information on how vulnerable. Our Defense systems – particularly the nuclear triad are NOT vulnerable to EMP, and that means any nations that launches an EMP weapon at the US will be obliterated forthwith.
We have vastly improved interception systems. We will NEVER be able to take out a first strike by the russians or the Chinese. But it is unlikely that if and when NK or Iran can reach the US, that if they launched – any weapon would arrive without being destroyed. It is unlikely that the US can not take out an EMP weapon.
In what we can do with high probability today will be even easier in a decade.
Our anti missle systems are three tier – THAD – which is the old AEGIS on steriods is mostly a tail chase system.
A THAD system typically has about 3min to take out an ICBM after launch or it can not. Then we have systems like Patriot (on steriods) and Israels Iron dome – these were started by Reagan in the 80’s These intercept ICBMS and are launched from the target side. These are fairly effective against unmirved systems that do not have multipe warheads or decoys – again – not Russia and china, but everyone else.
And finally we have space based systems – we are behind the curve on these – but they do exist. They take out an ICBM in space they are the most effective systems. Regardless we have all three today – but we do not have perfect coverage or enough to deal with Russia or China. But most of us have seen how effective Iron Dome is.
Not perfect but pretty good.
The major importance of these system is as a deterance against players like NK and Iran. If they attack the US, they probably will fail AND they will face massive retaliation.
Deterance against China and Russia is still MAD – mutually assured destruction. If you successfully take out the entire US, and all land and air based systems. The Boomers are still not stoppable.
You asked about protection for foreign bad actors – this is a small portion of what we have.
Again we are behind the curve on alot of this – not because the creators of the internet were lazy – but because the US governnent has ALWAYS opted for being able to hack the rest of the world over protecting US citizens.
” Maximum freedom is a sweet spot where all 3: government, criminals and foreign enemies are put in a box, all the while posterity’s ability to enjoy this same freedom is safeguarded.”
Utopia does not exist, nor does your sweet spot, nor if it did is government – and specifically the US govenrment interested in that sweet spot.
“A Secure Internet is coming,”
No it has been possible for 40 years.
We do not have it because the US governnent has never wanted it – in reality they still don’t.
If they offer you secure internet – it will be Chinese style – MAYBE secure from crooks, but not secure from them.
“if we do it right, it will only enhance freedom.”
Again if you want that – all you have to do is get government out of the way.
For the past 40 years – people who were willing to put the effort in have had perfectly secure systems.
But at a cost of attracting the attention of the US govenrment and being easy to confuse with criminals and terrorists. There is no secure internet that the US government can possibly come up with that secures you from the bad guys AND the government.
None of this is new. There is no such thing as a governemnnt program to secure the internet that does anything beyond put a band aid on things. Real internet security is not hard – but it comes at the expense of government powers that govenrnment is NOT giving up.
“It won’t be that different from drivers licensing. Those caught breaking the law using their internet privilege will face suspension or revocation of their connected computer privilege. ”
You are describing the system already in place in China. And unless you are a moron you do not want that.
You are absolutely correct – it works like a drivers license and if you are caught breaking the law – you not only lose your internet priviledges – you lose your ability to communicate, get a job, by food, get an apartment, buy a home, And “break the law” becomes whatever those in power decide.
Do you honestly want the people who thought it was OK to censor your speech on Social Media to be able to make your life a living h311 or even impossible – if you say something they do not like ?
That is precisely the “drivers license” model that you are talking about – and it already exists – in china.
The left in the US has amazingly just discovered due process. The system you are talking about – has ZERO due process, and ZERO oversight. If it starts being abused – most people will not even know.
The “borderless infrastructure”, aka internet, was originally built for the Pentagon, and for research universities and defense contractors that supported it. There was no need for policing because it was not open to the general public.
Once the ‘net was made available to the general public c.1994, that’s when trouble began. And it was too late to redesign all the protocols en mass, so we ended up with the mess we have today.
Please read my long post about – much of what you are saying is a misconception. We have had the ability to secure not just the internet – but all communications, including financial transactions from before the internet
That we did not have that from the moment the internet started being accessed by the public is because Government did not want it – and still does not.
Government is not going to give you a secure interent you want – if they actually wanted to do that – all they would have to do is get out of the way.
They are going to give you what they want – which might briefly be more secure – until the hackers find the backdoors. But will require sacrificing even more personal freedom and control of your life.
This is not tin foil hat stuff – the Government has been fighting real security for 50 years.
Hilarious. Turley castigates Hilary and rightly so. But he’s fine with Trump the fraudster, rapist and arguably mentally ill (too many examples but how about Trump claiming Tuberville told him he coached Mahomes who was a hell of a quarterback — totally fabricated). Trump is a dumpster fire of an evil human being.
Cry harder Gigi, we can’t hear you.
Did President Daddy-Daughter Inappropriate Incest Showers (The Oval Office House Plant who’s so brilliant he’s working legions of his young staffers to death) keep you as a reminder of when he turned down an offer from the Naval Academy to play football beside Roger Staubach? Which was somewhere around the time he was first arrested while marching with MLK, but before he was arrested for attempting to visit Nelson Mandela in a South African jail.
When you’re a syncopant for Bribery Biden, who had to rape his teenage daughter because raping young senatorial aids wasn’t enough… you aren’t qualified to cosplay as understanding what evil is while at the same time cosplaying that you’re also a woman.
You hoping the blasts of BS you unleash here will put some wind in the sails of the false flag warship you try to command here?
Airborne dog!
Wait! Where is that coward who won’t tell us his MOS, hiding in the mess hall latrine?

Top Biden aide admits president struggled in final years in office
“Joe Biden had difficulty remembering names and dates, and often required extra meetings to make decisions in the final years of his presidency, his former chief of staff Jeff Zients told congressional investigators Thursday, according to people familiar with Zients’ remarks.”

you have been reduced to ranting about rumoured Trump football stories ?
Is he really or is that what your propaganda network tells you? Have you been so zoned out on the Chronic that your simple mind accepts whatever your political peers tell you? The same group that tells you men can menstruate, men can get pregnant? Open your eyes instead of your mouth, we will all be better off.
When Secy. of Energy Chris Wright sent a memo to our national laboratories telling them certain phrases could no longer be used in public reports (most having to do with atmospheric and ocean warming assessments), I really questioned this administration’s commitment to free speech. The WH and many cabinet members are shameless infowarriors, who have little respect for objective data and facts. One exception is Tom Homan, who is an ethical guy and a straight shooter with a tough job to do.
In what world do you think that the government has any right to free speech ?
Free speech is the right of the people.
Govenrment employees can speak freely in their private lives.
At work they are obligated to conform their work related speech to the requirements of the president.
Just as businesses require you to conform your work related speech to their expectations.
Presumably you are upset about the end of govenrment fomented climate hysteria and 50 years of false predictions.
That’s too authoritarian for my liking. When we vote for President, we don’t get to vote on dozens of individual policies. It’s more who do we trust more with the power we’re giving. Once in office, the President has an obligation to listen to We the People as far as individual policies…we didn’t give one person the power to call the shots arbitrarily based on personal preference.
The President should have the power to change the priorities within the federal agencies, aligning them closer to the themes upon which he ran and was elected. And, he has plenary power to fire those bureaucrats who won’t accept the new priorities.
That said, dictating to scientists what words cannot be used in reports? How pathetic. Sounds like the way a progressive tries to legislate language use. Not a good look for conservative leadership. Let people choose their own words. Government scientists are not going to be dictated science by the Agency Director.
Remember, government workers swear allegiance to the Constitution, not to the President and his cabinet members. That’s how it should be to keep the Presidency from becoming too powerful. Power resides with The People, and the government is our instrument to act in concert.
ANO
Remember, government workers swear allegiance to the Constitution
**********************
Since when? LBJ or Clinton.
If government employees have demonstrated that they can not be trusted to use neutral, unbiased language, then what’s the proper response from those they report to?
The public should have confidence that the scientists employed in bureaucracies are not using loaded terms that reflect THEIR personal values and political ideologies.
Science is not about values and ideologies. Elections are.
I would recommend you listen to Glen Beck’s conversation with GW Bush after being called to task for reporting negatively on the Iraq invasion. To briefly summarize it, Georgie said it doesn’t matter who is elected, his advisers are the same ones as the previous administration. The president is a figurehead of a cabal of unelected bureaucrats that are getting richer every day. Even Trump is kept in his lane by these people.
If voting truly mattered, do you think they would let us?
By spreading the vile lie that Charlie was assassinated by MAGA, the implicit message from Kimmel was clear: If you kill a conservative, we will cover for you. We will whitewash the murder because we don’t think conservatives deserve to live. Kill more. Assassinate more. We have your back. This is evil. Executives at ABC rightly received a deluge of complaints from affiliates. They asked Kimmel to apologize for lying and he refused, instead vowing to double down. Only then did he get canned. Networks like ABC, NBC, and CBS enjoy massive taxpayer supported privileges and advantages because they are supposed to contribute to the “public good.” Those privileges come with a responsibility to not knowingly spread harmful lies like the one Kimmel was spreading.
Jimmy Kimmel is not a victim. He’s a liar.
Jimmy Kimmel is not a martyr. Charlie is.
Let’s keep that straight.
-Andrew Kolvet
Watch it again, especially the part where Trump is asked how he’s doing after the Kirk shooting, and Trump glosses over it and starts enthusiastically talking about how wonderful his ballroom will be. LMFAO.
And 120+ died on American highways that very day, and 44,000 die on highways each year, and a total of 8,750 Americans die each day, and 3.4 million Americans die each year.
What is the president supposed to do, grieve infinitely and attend three and a half million funerals every year?
I mean, there are some other subjects to address and a world to run?
Man shoots up ABC affiliate in California. Appears to be a Trump hater upset about Kimmel firing, thus more political violence from the Left.

*. Yes, the environment is hostile and the cause is emotional abuse via speech.
A requirement by the FCC that news orgs remove emotional content from their reporting leaving rational speech suffices. The same for rules in congress. Omar practices actual hate speech openly. Tlaib should have been removed during her screaming battle with Donalds.
Freedom of speech may not include emotional content directed at people. Schumer’s well get you Kavanaugh led to an assassination attempt and Biden’s bullseye led rapidly to DJT assassination attempt.
I think it can be linked and charged as crime. People can say whatever they want but civilly. This is rage leading to murder. Man killed Iryna on train- I killed that white woman.
Certainly news orgs can be held to civil standards and charged for mental abuse and false reporting of facts.
*. The manner of speech does not remove freedom of speech just as peaceably assemble does not remove assembly. Peaceably is the manner of assembly.
If tlaib screams again send in the Sargent at arms to remove her. If anyone breeches the rule of rational speech remove them. If anyone practices hate speech on the floor remove them. Omar demands an answer to- can you give me your word that the US will not engage in genocide. The answer is your question is nonsense and cannot be answered. Yes or no, the question cannot be answered. Patel did well with, I answered the question. You just don’t like the answer.
Just another illegal alien in need of deportation.
Kimmel is as viable a victim for the Left as Abrego-Garcia, or ANY Trans-shooter. The Left values THEIR Free Speech and rights to accost, attack, and eliminate opponents (enemies). Hillary C. only opens her mouth to retain some relevance amongst her peers and perhaps as some defensive mechanism for her global operations should they ever be fully and properly investigated. The only standards the Left holds are double-standards. My FAVORITE part of her Dem. primary debate in 2016 was when she discussed working and going to college at same time….the Younger-Radical-Extremist-Progressive-Left crowd went silent. She’s last decade’s news, last month’s garbage, a has-been of has-been losers that the American Left would rather send to an end of life care clinic than resurrect.
Thank God for Trump in 2016. We dodged a bullet. Same with ‘24. And it has nothing to do with sexism, as they always claim. Nominate a woman with the intelligence and charisma of Margaret Thatcher or Giorgia Meloni and we’ll vote for her in droves. Nominate idiots (Harris) and demons (Clinton) and we won’t.
The Epstein files are safe in his hands. After all, he’s covering up for himself.
You mean the files that incriminate Trump but Joe Biden inexplicably didn’t publicize them during four entire years during which he was trying to get Trump locked up?
Old man, to the best of my knowledge, Donald Trump has only beaten two woman. And those two are a fact.
Alex Acosta said he never saw Trump’s name when handling Epstein case

How many times did Bill Clinton take trips on Epstein’s Lolita Express? How many times without his SS detail?
Flight logs show Bill Clinton flew on sex offender’s jet much more than previously known
“Former President Bill Clinton was a much more frequent flyer on a registered sex offender’s infamous jet than previously reported, with flight logs showing the former president taking at least 26 trips aboard the “Lolita Express” — even apparently ditching his Secret Service detail for at least five of the flights, according to records obtained by FoxNews.com.”

Wait. Ghislaine Maxwell fully exonerated Trump, as did Bill Barr et al. They may be protecting the unindictable, the innocent, and international relations.
Did Republicans Elizabeth Dole in 2000, Carly Fiorina in 2016, and Nikki Haley in 2024 meet your intelligence and charisma standards and did you support any one of them? —
Concerned Citizen
Nikki Haley is the opposite of charismatic. Even worse she’s a warmonger neocon.
Oh, and she’s not American.
The question is not whether it’s ok to cave to pressure from affiliates who don’t want to air Kimmel anymore. The question is why they didn’t get rid of him before. He works for a network with federal licensure, meaning they are expected to serve the public interest (not just the left). If the public wants him gone, he’s got to go. The truth is, all these networks need a severe shake up. Everybody, right and left, just considers it normal that ABC, NBC and CBS are propaganda arms of the DNC, but it’s not normal. When they stop even pretending to be fair balance (which they did a long time ago) they are out of compliance with federal statute. It’s kind of like when I kicked some ATV’s off my property and they objected that they’d always been allowed to ride here. They were never allowed. They just had never got caught before. This time, the left got caught. Do better next time.
Americans, whether progressive or conservative, 2 sides of the same coin, cant stop hating each other.
Meanwhile famed Dutch violinist André Rieu, recently held an outdoor concert for thousands of people gathered on Vrijthof plaza in Maastricht, Netherlands with the gorgeous backdrop of the Roman Catholic Basilica of Saint Servatius, proving Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “beauty will save the world”. What a concept!
Hymn, “Nearer, My God, to Thee” is based on Jacob’s dream from the Book of Genesis, 28:11-12
lyrics:
🎶 Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee;
E’en though it be a cross
That raiseth me,
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer, my God, to Thee,
Nearer to Thee.🎶
Hillary Clinton has never been in a position to affect free speech one way or the other. And Turley is ignoring that his idol is getting comedians cancelled and dictating what Pentagon reporters can say. That is the real free speech risk.
Hey, Einstein, ABC/Disney, Nexstar Media Group, and Sinclair Broadcast Group pulled or suspended Comrade Kimmel’s show, and all Pentagon reporters, publishers, and broadcasters enjoy the full freedom of speech and press.
Anonymous troll you’re either lying or delusional if you think Trump got Kimmel fired. No wonder you comment anonymously.
Trump got Kimmel fired, moron.
Proof… post away fool
“The decision to preempt ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ was made unilaterally by the senior executive team at Nexstar, and they had no communication with the FCC or any government agency prior to making that decision,” a Nexstar spokesman said.
Who do we believe? The actual spokesman in a official capacity speaking directly to the situation? Or some anonny moron left wing Blue anon conspiracy theory?
Also telling, Kimmel was fired for spreading left wing Blue anon conspiracy theory aka lies.
Jimmy Kimmel was cancelled because 1. He isn’t funny 2. He used the show as a political message forum (driving away people who actually still care about comedy) 3. He had a bully pulpit and felt immune to being driven off the air 4. He worked because top management allowed him to 5. Management is concerned about their ratings and the final blow was Kimmel’s comment about Kirk and the tide shifted with Kirk’s death — people are finally fed up with the years of bias.
So, Kimmel owed his ‘voice’ to management — until their ratings found an excuse to dump him. All 17 million $ a year! Send him to Vegas and see how large the audience will be if he spews out the same ‘hate Trump’ as he did on the air!
To all of you who hate Trump… hate the man, but applaud many of his accomplishments. The border was one indeed and seriously, if every Dem had to pay out-of-pocket for the care of the illegals, this issue would have been over years ago. For all of you who voted for Harris — really? What moral courage does she have when she has now thrown everyone under the bus — except herself in her book. $150 Billion to run a 105 day campaign — and not legally nominated by the party. This really okay with you? If so, please go down and hand over your money to the coffers to feed, house and support all the illegals. And, invite them to live in your neighborhood! Bet you won’t! Words are cheap – actions harder to live by!
And now, wait until NYC changes and see what is like when big money moves out and the citizens find out how much a poorly run city, needs to run poorly! For those of us who live and work and socialize in NYC — it is NOT the same city that we before. Random violence makes even the mighty, scared.
PS I am not a Trump lover — but I do care about our country and most of all — The Constitution! And, common sense!!!
Pardon, what is a – lose of shame? Loser of shame or loss of shame?
They’re criminals, PT. Are the gold bars at Fort Knox gone? The Chippendale sofas? She looted the WH?

*. Is speech truly free?
Can speech start wars? Can speech cause murder? Can speech abuse? Can speech mentally abuse other people? Can speech cause fear.
Can speech be organized to control the minds of people and lead them to any end desired?
Did the founders intend that as the meaning? Speech as a weapon? Did founders intend lies and obscenities?
These are the true questions. Emotional vs Rational speech.
It’s not funny. It’s not fun.
Kimmel is a multimillionaire. He is free to seek another platform. There are numerous TV personalities who have gone to other platforms and have done very well.
I have no sympathy for him. He can use the free advertising to seek a YouTube channel, radio or a web-based show.
Traditional television has seen its golden era and is fading quickly into the sunset.
Hillary Clinton will go down as one of the most vile, dishonest politicians in our country’s history
The Hildebeast ranks right up there with Vampira Nuland as more blood-thirty than a cargo container ship of heavy flow Maxi Pads!
