Imam at CUNY Reportedly Calls for the Fingertips of the “Filthy Rich” to be Cut Off Under Sharia Law

The City College of New York campus began the latest example of anti-Semitic and extremist speech this week after Abdullah Mady, a student and self-proclaimed Imam, refused to sit next to a Jewish speaker and called for the tips of the fingers of “the filthy rich” to be cut off in accordance with Sharia law. Mady sparked a walkout of Muslim attendees at an interfaith religious event after objecting to the fact that he was seated next to Ilya Bratman, an adjunct lecturer and Executive Director of Hillel at Baruch College, launching into an anti-Semitic diatribe.

“I came here to this event not knowing I would be sitting next to a Zionist and this is something I am not going to accept. My people are being killed right now in Gaza. If you’re a Muslim, out of strength and dignity, I ask you to exit this room immediately.”

Notably, 100 students joined him in the protest by walking out.

Mady also extolled sharia law in his comments, advocating that the “tips of the hands of a thief” be cut off to reduce crime. He then stressed that he was only talking about mutilating the wealthy: “I’m talking about the elite, the filthy rich, the ones that continue to steal from people as we speak today. Those are the ones that deserve their tips to be cut off.”

What is most notable about these hateful words is how figures like Mady are combining Islamic extremism with the extreme economic messaging in New York, where a socialist was just elected New York mayor.

Mady declared, “Sharia, it stands against the oppressor. When shariah is implemented, pornography — gone. Alcohol industry — gone. Gambling system — gone. Interest is gone, which is what they use to enslave you.”

Indeed, it sounds like Jews, free speech, separation of church and state and capitalism would be “gone” in the paradise awaiting the United States as a Sharia-based system.

Again, what is most striking is that most of the CUNY students in attendance then joined this extremist in walking out in protest.

Mady has a bachelor’s degree in psychology but is working toward a bachelor’s degree in “translational medicine,” which CUNY says is “an innovation process from ideation to prototyping to clinical evaluation.” Mady’s “ideations,” however, involve amputations that might not sit well with some patients.

  1. A blood thirsty, intolerant culture masquerading as a religion. There is no place for them in our country. Go home and bring your own countries into at least the 20th century. The 21st is too far a stretch.

    1. That’s what I’ve been telling you. It’s a freakazoidal cult from the stone age. Americans think they must recognize anything that says it’s a religion.

DJT is selling them jets? The US bought oil from them and nothing else which was a big mistake when Canada has always been next door.

      Someone call in Zeus.

      1. I think whom we need are Charles Martel and Jan Sobieski. I was reading last night that in the 9th century the Tang Chinese were allies with the Uighurs up until the Uighurs adopted islam and then the Tang were smart enough to be done with them. Same with India, they were invaded by islam with the Moghuls and were never right after that and look at the mess in upper India with all those islamists causing discord. It seems that you can’t get rid of them unless you decimate them. There is no peaceful way to extract them from within your nation, they are like termites eating your home from within.

    2. Islam is definitely NOT a religion. It is a cult that worships a pedophile and death to anyone that disagrees with them. Agreed, they should all leave and set up their utopia in the sand.

  2. Hey Anonymous, you’re defending a guy who believes that Abortion should not be allowed after the third trimester. Being a pro life and abortion allowed up to the moment of crowning person one would think that you would chose your bedfellows with more discretion. As you say, he has the right to speak and you have the right to say that his speech is abhorrent. But you won’t. Somehow you come before us to tell us how much you hate racism but then you defend a man who is a racist and proud of it. All to get your little dug in. Sick.

    1. What the heck are you trying to say? It would appear that your compositional skills and a logical discourse is something on which you need to work.

  3. There is nothing to worry about. Radical Islam rejects liberal Democrats as much as the rest of us. They merely use names such as Socialist Democrat as a convenience to make their play.

  4. I’m sure he doesn’t mean that the filthy rich leaders of Muslim countries and the filthy rich muslims in living in America should have their finger tips cut off. He left out throwing gay people off the roof top when he spoke of ending prostitution and Alcohol consumption. There’s possibly a good chance that the sniveling students parents might be wealthy enough to pay their tuition. Has he explained to his student worshippers that their parents might also be included in the suggested dismemberment? The Jewish students at the University must feel right at home. We know who really has the blood on their hands.
We’ve seen this guys plans implemented many times in the real fascists nations throughout History.
His god has sent him on a mission where the forgiveness of sin can never be found.

  5. People frequently say “religion” when it is really “radical Islam”. Presbyterians don’t fly into buildings even when they’re really angry and no other religions are making serious and successful attempts to impose their religious law onto Western culture (what’s left of it.) Long ago Islam came into the prisons and started converting inmates. Their excellent strategy of slowly seeping into other countries is working. Europe, particularly England, is far gone, and America is following. Minnesota elects Muslims while Muslims corruptly take tax dollars to fund extremism. Academia protects Muslims and the useful idiots who protest with them while failing to protect Jewish students. Imagine paying $60,000 a year for your little darling to skip class, keep Jewish students from beings safe on campus and suffering no consequences. And New York elects a Muslim mayor. Fasten your seat belts.

    1. Just one year? In that time you made a wholesale judgement of a religion and a nation?
Wanna bet all those slaves you saw, maybe, just maybe were not slaves but members of a thriving and robust religious group?
So what’s the difference between Sharia and Christianity as you practice it in the USA? None, you both hate Jews.

      1. Wow, I always say you defend the indefensible, but today you are reaching a new low. That’s pretty tough for the worst commenter on the site…but you never fail to go lower and lower. I’m sure tomorrow you will be even dumber.

      2. I have seen how they treat women and girls. The treat them more like property and not even valued property. Same goes for animals.
As I have stated more than a few times here on the good professor’s blog, I am not religious. And, I would defend my Jewish friends and family. I would also defend anyone’s freedom of religion, unless they were trying to force their religion on myself or others.

  6. And southern schools in the Red Belt are bursting at the seams with students seeking an education, just not in the Northeast. I could really care any more by what happens in New York City. Once Bloomberg and Giuliani left the mayorship, the city seemed to have developed a love for a suicidal economic path. The money flees, and the financiers follow the money, congressmen fight the building of new businesses. And corporate america moves elsewhere.
Does what happens in New York matter anymore? It would seem other places now lead the country. Detroit once was the leader economically of the country and it’s massive industrial production and now it’s a shell of what it once was. The country moves on to more fertile fields. There is still a lot of space out there in the country and it’s growing businesses by the day.
Goodby New York. Let me know when you roll up Broadway so I can drop by and buy a souvenir.

    1. You just plagiarized an article from Redstate: Where Are the College Students Flocking To? Hint: It’s Not the Northeast
As for Detroit, lost its significance in 1975. NYC suicidal path? Hefty words based on your finding illiteraton.
Seems you’re stuck in some time warp.

    2. GEB,
After you referenced it, I went and read that article. Thought it was interesting the contrast between the two differing regions and their political outlooks on campus.

    3. I don’t know what will happen to the other four boroughs, but I am financially betting on Manhattan, along with Miami. Manhattan is becoming more international, with a lesser number of Americans except those with money.

      1. *. Here’s an idea: Americans will designate anything a religion. Islam should be given the esteemed moniker of a terrorist organization. Nothing more. It’s one giant terrorist organization as is communism.

  7. I am sympathetic to the view that “interest enslaves us”. Credit card debt, with high rates, late charges, over-the-limit fees, and other fees, is used to drain money from the poor to national banks. During the campaign, Donald Trump talked about reviving traditional usury laws. We need someone to focus on this issue.
I need hardly mention the historical role of the federal government in using borrowing as a way to burden the unborn with the costs of its current operations.

    1. “I am sympathetic to the view that ‘interest enslaves us’.”

Then don’t let lenders “enslave” you.

    2. How about: Don’t spend money you don’t have, live within your means, and work two jobs so you can pay for what you may need and/or want?

    3. I am sympathetic to the view that “interest enslaves us”. Do you have the same measure of sympathy to those student loan borrowers who claim they are enslaved? Supposedly unable to figure out how to repay their loans?

The commonality between student loans and credit card debt is that both are voluntarily entered into by adults. Did we fail to focus on the responsibilities of voluntarily choosing to borrow money?

Individuals entering into financial agreements is very different than being a citizen in a country where government who you may not have voted for goes into debt due to waste, abuse and funding programs that are about political power rather than national necessity.

      1. “Did we fail to focus on the responsibilities of voluntarily choosing to borrow money?”

The Left always skips over the opening chapters, to start with chapter 6: “Oh, look. I have massive debt.” The remaining chapters are: Which others can I compel to pay for it?

  8. “We will not align ourselves with figures who traffic in division, such as Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens, as I believe this undermines journalistic integrity and accountability.” Bari Weiss, Editor-in-Chief, CBS News

    What’s the difference?
Who has more power to influence?
Can one fairly argue on behalf of one of these statements while condemning the other? If so, why?

    1. See above
“I came here to this event not knowing I would be sitting next to a Zionist and this is something I am not going to accept. My people are being killed right now in Gaza. If you’re a Muslim, out of strength and dignity, I ask you to exit this room immediately.” Abdullah Mady

      1. Its free speech. Why be offended?

Question: Would you sit next to someone on a bus you know to be a democrat, muslim, pedo or even mamdami?

        1. He is free to speak, we are free to find his speech as offensive, bigoted, and violent as it manifestly is.

          1. Manifestly violent? So finding it to be offensive, bigoted and violent, what do you propose be done about it, which it seems you are alluding.
I see the comments here EE and I have no doubt my fellow Americans are just as hateful, violent, offensive and bigoted even without regard to religion.

        2. “Its free speech. Why be offended?”

What would CUNY say if a black man were sitting beside him and he asked his friendly KKK members to do the same? Democrats have never learned the shoe on the other foot. They are mostly fascists.

        3. “Its free speech. Why be offended?”

          I demand child sex trafficking.

That’s merely free speech. Why be offended?

          Find a moral compass.

    2. What’s the difference?

No difference between this hajji extolling the most vicious parts of Sharia law and the worst that we see from today’s versions of Carlson and Owens?

If you can’t see a difference, any attempt to provide an explanation would be a waste of time.

IMO, Carlson and Owens are right off the rails regarding Israel – but they aren’t even remotely close to this 7th century barbarian at CUNY.

  9. You would have thought Europe would be a lesson for us, thank you to the democrats (a party that no longer exists).

      1. Without threatening to kill me, can you tell us what “lesson” that would be?

They used to show little clips of you sealions balancing a beach ball on your nose while perched on a stool at intermission at drive in theaters. They were far more amusing than your troll sealioning here.

        Sealioning:
Sealioning is a form of adolescent trolling where someone persistently demands answers to insincere questions to provoke a response, often pretending to seek a civil debate while actually trying to exhaust or frustrate others with no intention of real discourse. This behavior is characterized by a facade of politeness and a refusal to acknowledge previous answers. Often used as a tactic by whining Democrats in online forums and podcasts

        1. Based on what, you hate towards dark skinned people?Sealioning:

  10. I chew my finger nails. While that’s not finger tipping, I’ve always been told it’s the thought that counts.

  11. Ironically some of those who support this kid, who’s playing dress up, are women, who, under Sharia law would never see a school room or a driver’s license . . . While others are gay who might prefer having their finger tips chopped off, rather than be found swinging by the neck off the side of a building.

  12. Can someone say they won’t sit next to black person? A gay person? A trans person? Would CUNY be ok with that? Can 100 students be allowed to walk out of a lecture because a black man was there? A gay man? A trans (?)man? Why is it ok to do the same to a Jewish man? Hello Civil Rights Division!!!

    1. And what exactly should the Civil Rights Division do?
Just noticed, so you acknowledge that trans men exist? Good lord, miracles do happen! You’re getting there ole timer.

      1. Two things: The civil rights division will sue the school for allowing a protest against a Jew being allowed to attend a lecture. I guess you are fine with that??

As for the trans man, I guess you couldn’t see or detect or understand what my (?) meant. If only you were half as bright as you think you are. It’s a shame you couldn’t get into law school. Or have a prom date. Or ever have a date. Or have a job. Or ever have a job.

        1. The so called protest was not planned. But it strikes me a Trump rally is no different.

Why resort to insults? You are the definition of an angry old man… law school, prom, a date, job. Um… and you still claim to be a lawyer?
Funny thing, there nothing lawyerly in your diatribes..

          1. Have you ever seen 100 peope march out of a Trump rally because a gay, black, trans or liberal person was there? Wow, sinking lower and lower.

          2. But it strikes me a Trump rally is no different.

It strikes us that you didn’t learn after the Obama/Harris election strategy of “They’re semi-fascist and Trump is a Nazi” didn’t work out well for you.

You are the avatar of rage filled Trump Derangement Syndrome in the incurable stages. Anyone who hopes you believe you might recover once Trump has left office may as well hope to win the Powerball lottery.

You have high hopes if you believe your novice level gaslighting is going to have any credibility here.

      2. Anonymous, trans men don’t exist for long under Shariah Law.
Two sexes: A core tenet of Islamic theology is the creation of only two sexes, male and female, and that one’s biological sex is assigned at creation.
Countries that have used hanging as a method of execution under Sharia law or Sharia-influenced legal systems include Iran and Afghanistan under the Taliban. Saudi Arabia primarily uses beheading, but occasionally shooting. If you lived under shariah law as a trans person them boys wouldn’t be messin around. You hate America so much because it is a capitalist nation that you could just spend the rest of your days in sunny Iran where every trans must get stoned. They stone ya when you’re at the breakfast table. They stone ya when you are under able. They stone ya when you’re trying to go home. Every trans must get stoned. Go for it.

        1. “trans men don’t exist for long under Shariah Law.” How can you possibly know that as a fact?
          You’re not thinking it through…

          1. Ano
“trans men don’t exist for long under Shariah Law.

In small words, they will NOT allow them to live.

  13. “Those are the ones that deserve their tips to be cut off.”

But by all means, give those Medieval savages their own state.

      1. Oh, certainly not. It’s very instructive to hear people tell you exactly who they are, and, in this case, why they are to be avoided, both as to personality and ideation.

      2. Here comes Mr. Anonymous to defend the guy that would ban him from speaking, ban his wife (mother/sister/aunt etc) from driving, being educated or going out without a male present . Ah, the thought process of the contrarian weirdo.

      3. He can say whatever he wants, but facing the ramifications of that bigoted speach is unavaoidable. hullbobby said it best a few comments up.

      4. Its called free speech. Got a problem with it?

You’d be more entertaining if you balanced a beach ball on your nose, sealion.

Pointing out that they are indeed 7th century savages walking our streets today is indeed free speech, and we don’t have a problem with that. And I’m happy that those 7th century savages have the right to self-identify as that. Just as I’m happy that the Democrat Borg’s Marxist Useless Idiots here are free to identify just exactly what they are.

  14. There is no putting this animal back in its cage. Our tolerance has been weaponized against us as a society, and they are emboldened more and more every day. I fear this is not going to end well.

      1. You know exactly, ever hear what ISIS does once it’s in power. I believe they practice Sharia law.

      2. Not end well? What are you suggesting?

Can you balance a beach ball on your nose, sealion? That would be more entertaining.
