Listen to Rage and the Republic: The Audiobooks are Now Available

I am happy to report that the audiobook version “Rage and The Republic: The Unfinished Story of the American Revolution” is now available. Below are audio samples of the book if you would like to hear excerpts or brief descriptions of the book.

Here is a sample on our 250th anniversary of the Revolution:

Here are a couple more brief samples:

  1. Trump pardoned the most violent criminals on January 6, more violent and more criminal than the vast majority protesting in Minnesota.

The January 6 protesters that were peacefully protesting on January 6 (not committing crimes) should have been pardoned, but Trump pardoned maga supporters that beat up and injured police officers.

Years earlier, Trump bragged he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in NYC with impunity. Trump then bragged about grabbing women by their genitals.

Anyone fit to serve as president should be part of the solution, not stoking more violence. Did that make it into the book?

  2. Self-examination here on our 250th year?….you’re right, it’s about asking deep questions. Who are we, and where are we going? The comments below show that some are composed enough for this exercise. Others are cocked to spring forth with heat and no light.

This year is a chance to reconnect with the Enlightenment, to revive the skills of political conversation where we pose questions to one another. Non-rhetorical questions. Open-ended questions. And, to prepare for success, think about how we’ll respond when someone tenses up and wants to end the discussion by pulling the blame card.

Maybe: “OK, but what responsibility do you feel you have for improving things?”

  3. Thank You again, Prof. Turley… Thank you for reading your own work… a great Sign how much you are invested in the words you put to paper… power in the pen… God Bless you and your work.. God Bless the USA…………..

  4. Dear Prof Turley,

Congratulations on your timely new book.

Have never fully bought into the notion of American exceptional ‘greatness’ beyond the Revolution (King George was a hereditary a**hole), or that we can ‘make America great again.’.. the world has changed.

Whatever accolades from the past that have so richly adorned the pages of American history have long since vanished.. . like tears in the rain.

America is no longer that ‘shining city on the hill’. We are a rogue nation, a raging bull in a China shop . .. and world fears us.

*never before have so few squandered so much.

    1. .. the past year has started to reverse that… we can see by the backlash of forces trying to stop this restoration via the protests of violence.. trying to sidetrack & derail our return.. that our position is still real and not completely ‘vanished’ as you think.. Prof. Turley could have not written this timely book if that were true………..

  5. To each their own, but honestly, I prefer to read, myself. Nevertheless, it is wonderful that this book is out in multiple formats. Again, congratulations, Professor and team.

    1. I agree I also prefer reading but there are people with vision problems and people who travel a lot and like to listen to books rather than music on most radio or sports stations. This gives them that opportunity.

  6. Every relevant fact from history assures us that we are in deep trouble. We are fat, content and have need of nothing. We have lost appreciation for whence we came. We are convinced that it was you and me who founded this, the greatest nation on earth and that this bold and unique experiment has to continue regardless what a dangerous future may hold. Our enemies, and even nature, surround us with absolute proof that our continued existence must not be assumed. The United States is indeed hanging in the balance of the reality of man. Less than 100 years ago maniacs persuaded the masses that godless dictators were prepared to take over all extant governments, leaving hundreds of millions to starve to death, to yield space for the conquerors to stretch, relax and to pursue leisure. They nearly achieved their perverted wishes. We remain under a constant threat and “upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization.”

    1. “Every relevant fact from history assures us that we are in deep trouble. ” Only in your warped mind.

      1. What about the decline of marriage and childraising?….the build-up of micro-plastics in our food supply? the abject dysfunction of our public schools to teach gen Alpha how to read and think critically?

Escapism is the elixir that’s bringing us down from what we could be. What we should be.

Do you want the tombstone on Western Civilization to say “Who cares?”

    2. “upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization.”

Oh, you mean a return to the Dark Ages. On the bright side, if you “succeed,” people will be neither fat nor content. And they certainly will have need of everything.

  7. For most books, I would strongly advise the author not to narrate the audio book and allow someone else practiced in the art to do so. However, based on the few samples posted here, Prof Turley and his book is an exception to that rule. Well done.

    1. Yes, but American history as it applies to our future path. It’s about rediscovering our “can do” DNA, while at the same time the majority asserting its shared values to reign in high-functioning psychopathic individuals who put themselves and their interests in front of everyone else.

    1. To get an autographed copy of an audiobook you need to stick a pen in each ear drum. Good Luck with that.
