Well unfortunately instances of this kind of court behavior has happened in the US. There was one particular case in Texas where a father was stripped of his parental rights because the mother was pushing transition for a minor child (male). The mother was a pediatrician. There were allegations that the child wanted to have nothing to do with transition but the courts ruled otherwise. The mother should have known that puberty is the most effective treatment for gender dysphoria disorder. I will have to research the Texas case once my searches bear fruit.
I would strongly contest this decision in Iceland, if not actually kidnapping the child if it came to that. A child on the autism spectrum can be extremely erratic emotionally and any reasonable physician should be hesitant about rushing into puberty blockers and other such therapy. These type of actions are basically cookie cutter psychiatric and psychological assessments and treatment of a supposedly linear process when the problem is subtle and more global with multiple permutations and changes.
Do no harm seems to have been cast aside for expediency and dogma.
