House Democrats unanimously voted this week against legislation to build a new women’s history museum on the National Mall. The reason was an amendment that limited the exhibits to biological women to the exclusion of transgender figures. The museum failed 204-216 as House Democrats hoped that they could still secure a museum including transgender figures once they retake power after the midterm elections.
The amendment drafted by Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., states in part, “The Museum shall be dedicated to preserving, researching, and presenting the history, achievements and lived experiences of biological women in the United States.”
It further mandated that the museum would not depict “any biological male as female.”
The vote was notable after the release of the DNC “autopsy” report that flagged how transgender and identity politics contributed to the defeat in the last election.
The report specifically noted the success of Trump’s “Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you” ad. The report noted that “If the Vice President would not change her position — and she did not — then there was nothing which would have worked as a response.”
The fact that this was a unanimous vote among Democratic members is particularly notable and suggests that transgender issues will remain a rallying point for the Democrats.
Democratic members called the exclusion a “poison pill” amendment.
In the meantime, transgender issues continue to occupy the courts with a major decision by the Colorado Supreme Court this week that ordered Colorado’s largest provider of gender-affirming care for young people to resume medical treatments like puberty blockers and hormone therapy.
That puts Children’s Hospital Colorado in direct conflict with the Department of Health and Human Services, which has moved to block federal support for institutions providing such care.
Justice William Wood III wrote that “We conclude that the actual immediate and irreparable harm to petitioners outweighs the speculative harm CHC may face if the federal government further acts against it.”
In his dissent, Justice Brian Boatright said that this was hardly a speculative matter, but “a decision driven by the direct threat to the viability of the entire hospital.”
Here is the opinion: Boe v. Child.’s Hosp. Colo.
OT: Yet another week goes by with Turley ignoring the $1.8B slush fund from Trumpers and a complete greenlight for all Trump family members to cheat on their taxes.
Is Fox muzzling you again? How in the world is this story more relevant?
It is remarkable they now have a “no audit” hall pass. I never heard of such a thing. Sal Sar
OT, Dems in Albany, NY are about to abolish life without parole, and thus the Long Island serial killer could go free.

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”
– Declaration of Independence, 1776
My favorite complaint against King George from the Declaration, is this one:
“He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.”

Ah, yes. Total war! Lincoln’s favorite, vigorously opposing not prohibited and fully constitutional secession.
a further biblography of books about enslavement and brutality against whites on the fronteir:
Regional Border Wars & Captivity:Bones on the Ground by Elizabeth O’Maley: A highly specific account focusing on the Old Northwest Territory. It details the tumultuous struggles of Native Americans (such as the Miami in Indiana), white traders, and early settlers fighting over territorial claims.
The White Indians by Alan Fitzpatrick: Explores the harrowing histories and cultural integration of over 1,000 white captives taken by Native Americans during the colonial and frontier wars.
The Wild Frontier: Atrocities During the American-Indian War by William M. Osborn: This heavily documented, often brutal look at the conflict pulls directly from thousands of eyewitness accounts, detailing the reciprocal violence, torture, and kidnappings between settlers and Indigenous peoples.
Slavery, Bondage, and Captivity on the Frontier: Slavery in Indian Country by Christina Snyder: This book examines how Native Americans practiced captivity and enslavement from the pre-Columbian era .
White Cargo by Don Jordan and Michael Walsh: While not specific to the Midwest, this book uncovers the history of hundreds of thousands of white Europeans (primarily Britons) who were shipped to the American colonies and lived and died in chattel bondage and indentured servitude.
O T – Headline: “Tulsi Gabbard resigning as director of national intelligence, citing husband’s cancer diagnosis.” I suspected she would be leaving soon. She did not sign up to help a gang of warmongers.
By “warmongers,” you mean Iran, right? What will become the reference after Iran wantonly launches multiple nuclear missiles against Israel, the Gulf States, Europe, and America, the very kind of thing it has been doing for 47 years?
Iran has no nuclear weapons so quit with the apocalyptic fantasies
the warmongers means Israel and all the suckers in th Trump admin who take the bait
long live Thomas Massie
Iran has sought a nuclear weapon for 47 years. It has come very, very close and only doesn’t have one because of the actions of Israel and Trump.
Iran is on record as saying it intends to annihilate another sovereign nation, Israel.
Iran’s religious leadership is on record as members of the Twelver cult, which mandates use of weapons to create a world war, and worldwide carnage – including use of a nuclear weapon as soon as it gets one – in order to bring about the emergence of the Mahdi. No serious person thinks Iran would not use a nuclear weapon shortly after it gets one. Iran has also demonstrated steady progress in the range of its ICBMs, which are now known to be able to hit virtually every capital city in Europe. Left alone, it is only a matter of time until it can hit the US. Combine that with its ability and desire to put a nuclear warhead on those missles – again, but for the actions of the people you despise, Isreal and Trump – and it is clear that American cities would be nuked if we did not stop Iran from fulfilling its ambitions.
Israel and Trump are saving your sorry ass, and all you want to do is spit in their face.
Why, thank you, OMFK. You see, we’re not really that far apart in philosophies. I believe we agree that prosperity flows from freedom, free enterprise, free markets, etc., and distinctly not from tyranny and dictatorship, especially those of the majority proletariat.
Apparently Allah is Satan and Mohammed his messenger.
The Left is rebelling against reality. For example, biological reality.
“THEY ARE NOT TO LAY TAXES AD LIBITUM FOR ANY PURPOSE THEY PLEASE”
The singular American failure is the judicial branch, with emphasis on the Supreme Court.
“[Legislation] to build a new women’s history museum on the National Mall” is entirely without legal basis and is irrefutably unconstitutional.
Congress may tax for DEBT, DEFENSE and GENERAL WELFARE, meaning ALL, OR THE WHOLE, WELL PROCEED.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
1791: Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank
II. Nor are they within either of the general phrases, which are the two following:
1. To lay taxes to provide for the general welfare of the United States, that is to say, “to lay taxes for the purpose of providing for the general welfare.” For the laying of taxes is the power, and the general welfare the purpose for which the power is to be exercised. They are not to lay taxes ad libitum for any purpose they please; but only to pay the debts or provide for the welfare of the Union. In like manner, they are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose. To consider the latter phrase, not as describing the purpose of the first, but as giving a distinct and independent power to do any act they please, which might be for the good of the Union, would render all the preceding and subsequent enumerations of power completely useless.
There are two fundamental questions here for anyone concerned with constitutionalism that should have preceded any debate over the potential inclusion of transgendered candidates for this museum. Since no one else chose to advance those, I’ll put my neck on the block:
1. Why should there be a separate institution for women’s’ history? Did men and women not both contribute to a common national history from which neither group can be extracted or divorced? I think the very concept is silly, bordering on ridiculous. If women have been slighted in national museums (which is quite possible), then fix that oversight, don’t compound it.
2. I missed the stipulation is the US Constitution authorizing the establishments of museums and/or other cultural institutions as an enumerated Federal power. Can someone point me to it (and, if you are even tempted to mention “general welfare”, do yourself and everyone else here a favor and just go back to masturbating). It seems to me that this is fundamentally education, and that, according to the Constitution, public education remains a prerogative for each state to exercise (or not) according to the wishes of its people.
I am saddened, but not surprised, to find that no one here found either question worthy of comment, dispute, or debate. Everyone here seems intent on scoring purported points for “their side” or bashing the other, or harping on some concept that they argue for every day, even if it requires a major twist of Turley’s subject. I sometimes wonder if there isn’t a single force manipulating both left and right by concocting, publicizing, and arguing sham opposing viewpoints to keep us all distracted while the sack of America is concluded. That is probably paranoid, but I will state without reservation that if that was the case, that power could hardly be doing a better job.
Oh its not paranoid. There are troll farms employed by strategists on both sides of the public debate. To say nothing of American “Deep State” forces using propaganda techniques on us. Then somewhere way farther down the line I suppose the Chicoms and Russkies probably do it too, at a much more obvious and ineffective level.
But meanwhile there are a lot of Trump cultists. I supported Trump but not for any sort of war he would imagine. Not anymore!
In regard to the instance of a person ‘A’ biologically born as a particular gender suddenly declaring that ‘A’ chooses to be of the other (or another) gender: where does this unreality-based dynamic stop? Suppose a person (on the basis, likely, of this Dem-indentured dynamic) declares herself to be the reincarnation of Elizabeth I of England or a Russian Tsaritsa of old? Or a male declaring himself to be the reincarnation of George Washington or one of the Apostles or even Christ? On what basis could such a person be denied a change in drivers-license and voting-list identity? On what basis could such a person be legally protected from a possible characterization as being in need of psychiatric services or even intervention? After all, is ‘reincarnation’ any more bizarre than the bleat about being ‘born in the wrong body’ (or – more accurately, I would say) in a non-preferred body?
Everyday it seems that I learn something new on this blog. Professor Turley writes, “[The amendment] further mandated that the museum would not depict “any biological male as female.”” Now just suppose, for the sake of argument, that biological men should be depicted as women because of facts as the Democratic house members would have us believe. That would cast the 19th amendment as well as much of American politics prior to the ratification of the 19th amendment in a quite different light than how I had previously understood it. Now I will need to reframe, in my mind, the justification of the 19th amendment because clearly women must have already had the right to vote. Moreover, while it may be entirely conjecture, Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris may have been vying to become not the 1st woman president but the 2nd (or 3rd) woman president. The acceptance of this “fact” is certain to reenergize a whole series of surely insightful, productive academic inquiries and discoveries for decades to come.
It’s been in the national news for 2 weeks.
Great Turley
A hospital caught between both levels of the federal republic. The hospital’s next ask is to one, maybe two branches of the national government’s thin black line, the Article lll people, and the Article l Chapter 11 people. This whole dispute resonates with the idea that when kings fight, peasants die.
The irony about the decision in Colorado is it directs the hospital to provide treatment that in every single piece of medical literature has proven is not effective and is harmful
There will come a point when enough people abandon ship and these positions will no longer be viable. Now, when that point will come I have no idea, but it is coming sometime soon. It’s in the pipeline, it’s coming down the road and you can see it right now; mainstream, middle of the road Democrats and Independence are not going to go for this position. It’s is that simple.
I like the following thought experiment:
If you put fifty men and fifty women on a beautiful, fertile, productive island, when you go visit in a hundred years you are likely to find a thriving little community.
If you put fifty men and fifty transwomen on a beautiful, fertile, productive island, when you go visit in a hundred years you are guaranteed to find one hundred male skeletons, wolves, bears, and lost at sea notwithstanding.
Lefties are sooo lame.
Re: “I like the following thought experiment:” On the other hand, if they get horny enough, when you go visit in a hundred years one might just find a thriving little community.
Huh?
I don’t see that a person’s sexuality, gender, sex etc are topics of discussion in the public square. If a person has a problem , privately seek help from physicians and other.
This topic run the spectrum of physical handicaps, birth defects, to sheer lust, obsessions and cheating on your spouse, pornography, multiple marriage schemes, offspring by purchased gestation provider, PURCHASE of gametes and more.
Get this out of public institutions, schools. It’s all private. Get the politics of sex OUT and get sex out of politics.
The thing that comes to my mind is seeing a good looking, well made man like Scott Bessent thinking he’s not traumatized by some event in his childhood. No, Bessent was not born that way.
That’s all I’ll say. Take lgbt out of politics.
So the crazy left now hate real women. Keep shooting yourself in the foot.
What is a real woman Dustoff? Keep shooting yourself Dustoff.
A real woman is a grownup biological female. They are the ones who suffer when biological males invade their private spaces and take away their athletic awards and scholarship opportunities. To approve of such deprivations, a person really does have to hate them. So . . . Dustoff is correct.
Newsflash. There has never been a transexual human. Men cannot become women and women cannot become men.
No amount of plastic surgery, hormone therapy, hairdoos, manicures, makeup, wigs or method acting classes can make a man into a woman. It’s just a stupid idea.
I can think of no historically significant positive contribution to culture that is directly related to a person’s sexual deviancy.
The political technique is to state as true something that is obviously, blatantly false in the eyes of any normal human being. When honest people object they are then pummeled with accusations of misogyny, bigotry, transphobia, homophobia, racism, xenophobia and more. It is nothing but a peurile method of telling people to shut up and take what is dished out. It’s a bait and switch. Once they shut down debate their actions will be focussed on money and power grabs.
There has never been a transexual human. How do you know that? Got proof?
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but that’s the way to bet.
Does the technology exist that can change xxxy in every cell of the body? Ancient astronaut theorists say “probably not”🤣
Guevedoces
The amazing thing to me is that Democratic politicians are so uniformly committed to transgenderism. The Democratic voters are not nearly so uniform in their support.
https://www.pewresearch.org/politics/2024/06/06/gender-identity-sexual-orientation-and-the-2024-election/
I have an opinion on why that difference exists, but I am reluctant to state it.
As an example, among Biden supporters who are African-American, a majority support the conservative position: that sex is determined at birth. Yet all the Democrats in the Black Caucus voted with all the other Democrats on this vote! One would think that some of those black Democrats might have voted with their constituents on this.
Re:” One would think that some of those black Democrats might have voted with their constituents on this.” One would think that the time had come for the Black Community to begin voting with its conscience instead of its complexion. Until then, they remain the useful tools for those who manifest the soft bigotry of low expectations for the intelligence of the low information voter and will never escape the plantation or their overseers. For without their flock, the shepherds cannot survive.
The Democrat politicians are all sexual deviants?
We’ve been living in Idiocracy + 1984. Have we now added Anthony Burgess’ “The Wanting Seed” to our dystopian future?
I have an opinion on why that difference exists, but I am reluctant to state it.

Let’s hear it⬆️……😹😹😹
There’s way too much on the National Mall already. Less is more!
These Dems have abandoned heterosexual women. May this vote be remembered in November.
Identity politics is all they have and equality is killing them.
Trans is the final boss of dums identity politics.
If you beat trans you win the game.
