Goldman Demands Proof of “One Case” of Immigration Obstruction…DHS Offers 7,000 in New York Alone

An over-30-point primary loss would ordinarily produce a degree of introspection and self-reflection in a politician. Indeed, even such a humiliating defeat can produce a sense of liberation in some members who finish their terms free of pandering to extreme groups or blindly touting the party lines. Those people, however, are not Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.).

Goldman was back this week in signature form, denying the obvious and the unavoidable. In an exchange on sanctuary cities barring cooperation with ICE, Goldman demanded that critics

“cite one case where there was a criminal conviction, the defendant served his time and was convicted of a removable offense under the [Immigration & Nationality Act of 1952] and he was not turned over by the city or the state to the Department of Homeland Security.”

It was vintage Dan Goldman. When other democrats were acknowledging mistakes or failures, Goldman was always willing to deny any inconvenient fact.

When attacks on ICE officers increased exponentially (including attacks shown on television), Goldman denied seeing examples of such increasing attacks.

When evidence of Biden influence peddling worth millions was confirmed, it was Goldman who denied the corruption, insisting that they were just honest businessmen making money.

When evidence mounted of the Biden Administration coordinating a massive censorship system, it was Goldman who dismissed such concerns.

When other Democrats objected to the Biden Administration’s seizure of members of Congress’ phone records, Goldman ran out to downplay the attack on the legislative branch.

When the Administration sought to investigate those burning Teslas and dealerships by protesters, Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) denounced it as a “political weaponization” of the legal system.

The “deny everything” approach is designed to stop the conversation or interview and worry about the facts later. Those facts from the Department of Homeland Security reportedly include nearly 7,000 criminally-convicted illegal immigrants released in New York alone after the state barred cooperating with ICE detainers. The crimes include 29 homicides, 2,509 assaults, 305 robberies, and 207 sexual predatory offenses.

Again, those are just facts.

Goldman has months before he has to find another position. Losing by over 30 points after a short time in Congress does not bode well for a new run. Goldman told voters that he would be leading the impeachment of Donald Trump. His constituents had other plans. He could try to return as a staff counsel in an impeachment, though it is not clear if Democrats will have the control or the interest in the House.

Instead, Goldman may be ready to move on to a gig on MS Now or CNN. Indeed, his “deny everything” approach is perfect for the four-in-a-box cable dogfight shows.

After all, he has proven his bona fides as someone ready for his own “fiery but mostly peaceful” on-air denials.

In the meantime, we need to have a serious discussion about these policies without the disinformation and denials. The opposition to immigration enforcement by Goldman and other Democrats is out of step with most Americans.

A Harvard-Harris poll found that 56% of Americans support mass deportations of people who are in the U.S. illegally. Other polls show above 70% support for deporting those who commit serious crimes. Yet, there are also shifting views on immigration enforcement that show growing opposition to some policies.

If we are going to get through this and other controversies, we need to be able to have substantive discussions rather than suggest that there is not a single case of a sanctuary city not cooperating on a removable offense.

  1. Question for DHS: Of the 7000 convicted criminal illegal aliens released in NY w/o cooperation, how many committed a crime(s) before being apprehended by ICE?
    A 7000
    B Less than 1000
    C Less than 100
D Less than CA, MA, IL, WA, OR, and all other sanctuary states and communities combined?
    E None of the above
    F It doesn’t matter

(Hint for the wacko lefties and border safety deniers, the answer is F)

They have to go. And we have to elect people committed to enforcing the laws so the system prevents their reentry. My family’s safety might just depend on it.

PS: A HEARTY WELCOME TO ALL WHO COME TO AMERICA LEGALLY, WHETHER TO VISIT OR HOPING TO STAY. GOD BLESS!

  2. I really wish the dems would just stop pretending to be an American party that cares a whit about law. He’s a clown, and an obvious one, but aren’t all those in service to the modern left, these days?.

I feel like we are playing their favorite exhausting toddler game again (as seen elsewhere and shared by many):

    ‘Dem socialism is not communism.’

‘Ok, it has things in common with communism, but what we want is not traditional communism.’

‘Ok, it’s communism, but it’s the dsa’s fault.

‘Yeah. We’re communists and oligarchs. But here’s why that’s a GOOD thing. And forget our and our apparatchiks’ actions over the previous two decades, especially the last ten years.’

I think we are currently in stage three; even though they still want us to believe we aren’t playing the game at all. Pathetic and stomach churning.

    1. James,
Funny thing, a survey found 85% of DSA members to be white, college educated, and on average making over $100k a year.
Mamdani defined a person making $1m a year as “working class.”

  3. so anyone go to jail?

Democrats commit 100,000’s of CRIMES against America…pure Treason and Sedition…and NO ONE EVER GOES TO JAIL!

    1. No one ever goes to jail because many of the people standing in judgment are part of the problem. The court system was never really designed to deal with “treason and sedition”, it is usually a terrible place to seek justice. Why do you think there are hundreds of Soros DA’s out there, not just in the US, but around the world? He has hired some very smart people that have told him exactly the best places to spend his millions. Get control of the legal system and you control everything. Has the court system ever worked to stop dictators from taking power across Europe, Asia, or South America?

  4. Every Democrat Hates America
    Every Democrat Voter Hates America

    it is that simple

    This isn’t left vs right
    this is traitors vs America
    Democrats vs Republicans

  5. (n Norse warfare, the primary function of berserkers was to serve as elite shock troops and psychological weapons designed to break enemy morale and destabilize opposing formations. Rather than acting as conventional, disciplined soldiers, they were deployed to inflict maximum chaos).

There is as fine a description of the shock troops deployed by the democrat tacticians.

  6. One might say that Rep. Goldman only opens his mouth to change feet, but that implies some degree of mistake on his part instead of blindness to the facts.

  7. His own constituents may have unalived Goldman’s career in Congress after that 30 point loss, but don’t count him out. The broader left doesn’t need him to be right. It just needs him to be a shiny object that gets people to tune in. MS Now or CNN will bring him right back to life, same act, different stage.

Getting voted out for being wrong and getting hired for being loud aren’t the same test, and the left’s media apparatus has never really required the first one to get the second.

    1. OLLY,
      Great observation and well said.
Weird how being a failure and wrong so many times can be qualifying traits to get one hired on MSM.
Also a testament to how far MSM has fallen and failed themselves.

  8. Goldman is a partisan hack and a liar and not that intelligent to boot, but given the socialist who defeated him in the primaries, I don’t think it will be long before we’ll be wishing he had won.

  9. None of this would be necessary if Democrats would control the borders when they are in charge. Why do they insist on bringing in un-vetted, un-vaxed, undocumented people in mass numbers? Because undocumented people are easier to control without papers; and when they work they work for a lot less. It’s the new slavery. Democrats always loved their slavery. The old Democrats framed what they were doing as compassionate as well. That doesn’t change things. Dan doesn’t have to live with the consequences. The criminals are not released into his neighborhood. Dan is a typical Democrat. Don’t be like Dan.

    1. Dan won’t need to worry about it for very much longer. He’s living the political nightmare that he created. Every democrat in office is now vulnerable from challenges from their Left. In this climate, you cannot be Left enough, you cannot be “woke” enough to remain in office. I am sure Dan thought his seat was pretty safe.

    2. In the matter of controlling the borders, on the news this morning was a report of a Biden memo regarding a proposal to confer TPS status to an additional 3.1 Million additional unlawful entrants sourced from a group of nation states, most from the Hispanic Western Hemisphere. This in the closing days of his administration, which never came to pass.

  10. Useless are the rebuttals which fail to reference the commentaries which are being responded to and, for so many of the’Anon’, nothing more than volleys from the Tower of Babble, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing

  11. The question is, what makes the Goldman’s & Moulton’s of the world tick, shtick or mental health?

    1. I think it’s mostly self-loathing resentment, and a desire to fit in. Ivy campuses are full of Dan Goldman’s. Millionaire/billionaire parents with leftist children. I think I enjoyed the 80’s “greed is good” era a little more, when the rich were out there snorting coke and enjoying their wealth, instead of trying to destroy the place for everyone else.

  12. I have an idea on the approach to the conversation Johnathan mentions about the Left’s isn’tism. A farmer with horse in tow returned to the horse trader’s livery stable. “I want my money back. You didn’t tell me this horse is blind”. The horse trader: “I certainly did. The first thing I told you when we went in the corral was he didn’t look too good.”

      1. Oh please. . .enough already! Do you ever have a good post? I doubt it, but prove me wrong.

      2. You would have to be a product of a Democrat ran city, attending public education, and then a DEI higher indoctrination camp attendee to not understand that relationship which is somewhat surprising as how simple the equation is. But, then again, you have difficulty with simple word problems.

  13. Not yet diagnosed as negative for stupid, hence, his qualifications as a contributor to the aforementioned media outlets is superb.

    1. Trapper John,
      I agree with your diagnosis.
He would be an excellent addition to The View.

  14. The congregation of the Dem party don’t care about facts and figures. The ends justify the means is all they care about.

  15. Dan Goldman is one of the top examples of a politician who, despite the most expensive education, a seat in Congress, and a massive fortune with which to do genuine good, still supports the most simplistic leftist lunacy designed to attract college students. Yet after a brutal election loss, he goes even further: he still believes it. He, together with Kamala and others, also makes one think there are alternative ways of passing the bar exam.

    1. So “despite education, money, fortune he’s supposed to do good”? Wait WTF! Are you stupid or what? He’s supposed to act contrite and convert to conservatism.
Pal, you are a complete wackjob.

        1. You always ask proof, and yet you can’t provide it as well. You remind me of the petulant child who cries and throws his cereal bowl on the floor, all because his parents wouldn’t give him his favorite toy.

          1. phantomboldly5cb0d04b6f,
Oh, annony is much worse than that. Annony is a Gen Z, 30-something, failure to launch still living at home with mommy and daddy. The reason he has to come here and troll the good professor’s blog is it gives him some degree of purpose in his otherwise pathetic life.
Can you imagine being such a useless waste?

    2. Just call them the “Insincere left”.
I see it everytime one speaks, it’s all theater kids running the show.

    3. gdonaldallen,
Excellent observation about how despite a expensive education, one can still be a dupe. Thing is, they then try to use their “education” as some kind of shield from any kind of criticism or scrutiny. Or that it makes them . . . something over everyone else. Yet, he lost and by 30 points.

  16. Dan Goldman and his greedy-for-power cronies want to impeach and remove President Trump with no evidence and for no reason, and prevent the deportation of illegal aliens who have been convicted of serious offenses, including crimes that would make even Eric Swalwell and Ruben Gallego blush.

    1. Impeach based on zero evidence and reason? They can do whatever they want while in congress. Since when is evidence and reason necessary for an impeachment? Its political stupid.

  17. Everyone knows at least one “deny everything” Democrat. There are several on this blog. They get 100% of their “facts” from MS NOW, CNN and NPR. Pity them.

          1. As if you have ever done coherence. Or made any positive contributions to anything.
