Geno Segers was a widely acclaimed actor who starred in the Broadway production Hadestown. That came to an end this month when Segers expressed the view of the vast majority of Americans: women’s sports should be confined to biological women. He has now been fired, even after an attempt to apologize for expressing his own views on the subject. Other actors have expressed support for transgender players without any response other than praise in the latest example of the rising McCarthyism on the left.
This is only the latest termination over the political views of artists in New York. As the song states in Hadestown, “It’s an old song. It’s a sad song. But we’re gonna sing it anyway.”
We have previously discussed how private companies can fire employees for public conduct or statements that bring controversy to their business or products. However, even though the First Amendment does not govern such controversies, there remains a free speech issue. Free speech goes beyond the confines of the First Amendment and private companies can engage in censorship that curtails this human right.
The question often comes down to consistency in companies enforcing content-based standards. I did not like some of the comments of Segers, but there is little question that equally strong comments against “cisgender” athletes or for transgender athletes would not result in such termination.
Segers posted statements critical of transgender athletes playing in women’s sports as well as the posting of preferred pronouns. The comments were certainly mocking and insulting at points: “If you asked me what my preferred pronouns are and it’s not obvious to you that I’m a he/him, that I’m good with he/him — Surely you don’t need any help. I’m not wearing a dress.”
One can understand why transgender advocates would be upset with the content and tenor of these comments, including “I don’t see transgender people becoming oppressed or being oppressed … life is unfair.”
However, Segers also wrote: “I’m not against anyone living out their lives the way they want, but I am against their rights superseding the rights of other people. That’s a little bit foul.”
Segers attempted to apologize for his comments after the cancel campaign picked up steam:
I wish to extend my most sincere apologies to everyone impacted by my words. While I never intended to inflict harm, I recognize that the impact of my statements is what matters most. I am fully committed to listening, educating myself, and elevating my standards. I will work tirelessly to earn the opportunity to make things right.
Actors, athletes, and academics routinely offer equally strident and insulting comments about the issue as well as radical comments on cisgender citizens and culture. Those comments generally do not trigger cancel campaigns.
In academia, the bias is obvious and open. As discussed this week, over 40 percent of academics say that they will vote against faculty candidates who voted for Trump regardless of the intellectual content of their scholarship. Even moderate conservatives are rare in teaching while higher education is heavily populated with the most extreme voices on the left.
An example is the recent book published by Pennsylvania Professor Beans Velocci claiming “sex isn’t real” and the gender “binary” is “incoherent.” The assistant professor in history and the sociology of science seemed to relish the anticipated controversy over his book, telling Duke University Press in an interview that “any right wing or TERF detractor who wants to s***-talk the book is going to have to say or write the phrase ‘Sex Isn’t Real’ in the process.”
Velocci is no standout in higher education. Attacking “cisness” and conservatives is a clear winning strategy for faculty candidates. As with actors, the opposing views would be lethal to an applicant.
The same is true with athletes. The mob has now come for Sophie Cunningham as it did for authors such as J.K. Rowling. Cunningham stated her support for maintaining women’s sports for biological females, a position also declared yesterday by Aryna Sabalenka, the number-one-ranked female tennis player. Cunningham was not obnoxious or extreme in her comments. She simply stated her concern for girls in sports. Nevertheless, she has been viciously attacked (including by a team owner), as have girls who support her.
Athletes, including coaches, routinely make opposing statements with no cancel campaign, including a women’s basketball coach. Former U.S. Women’s National Team star Megan Rapinoe routinely made controversial statements in favor of transgender athletes without any repercussions.
However, Cunningham is now the target for the mob. Guardian’s Howard Bryant wrote, “Sophie Cunningham is now … accepting the role as the right’s anti-Black, anti-transgender culture war ambassador.”
Whether it is actors, athletes, or academics, there is a demonstrably different level of tolerance for controversial views on gender. Take Segers’ statements, swap the nouns or pronouns, and ask yourself if there would have been a cancel campaign, let alone a termination. It is not the fact of the controversy but the lack of consistency that is so problematic in these areas.
It is likely that Segers will now be effectively blacklisted in seeking new roles and productions. For him, the musical lyrics came true: “Hadestown, Hadestown, a place where you can die.”
America can now be officially considered a s—hole country.
America needs to dump the America of Lincoln and Karl Marx and reinstate the America of the American Founders.
America needs to “fundamentally transform” itself the same way Lincoln did if necessary.
I agree.
The only way to freedom and prosperity at this point is to bring back slavery, and deny women the right to vote. And women should not be allowed to own property, work for wages, sign contracts or file for divorce. Women should be kept barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.
The only people allowed to vote or run for office should be white, Christian, land owning males.
Ahh, yes !!!!
Those were the good times.
Clearly slavery is reprehensible, far too costly, and wholly unnecessary, oh, and the strongest longing of all abductees is to return home.
Incidentally, the last time I checked, women were designed and engineered for procreation, something they have failed miserably at for perhaps 100 years?
FYI, the Greeks created rational restricted-vote democracy, not your let-every-lunatic-vote “democracy,” aka the “dictatorship of the majority,” which means the “dictatorship of the poor,” or the “dictatorship of the hired help.”
How stupid is that?

In ancient Athens around 508 B.C., political reforms led by Cleisthenes established an early form of direct democracy. Voting and political participation in the Assembly were strictly limited; only free, adult males born with Athenian parentage were allowed to participate.

Here’s an entertaining thought….LeBron James buys you as his slave, humiliates you, has you whipped into accepting your proper station as his property. After 20 years crushing your soul and extinguishing all prior sense of agency, he offers you freedom, but only if you renounce slavery. For reasons of comfort-seeking and familiarity, you turn down his offer.

The comparison is unfair to Sen. McCarthy. He was crusading against a real enemy: Soviet spies who had infiltrated the federal government bureaucracy during the Presidencies of FDR and Truman. There is no doubt there were hundreds of such people, only about half of which have been identified. McCarthy’s search for the identities of the others was frustrated by the opposition of the left-wing media and Democratic politicians. By comparison, the campaign to silence commentators who seek to protect female sports, and literally female bodies, is an exercise in insanity that would fit well in the Wonderland visited by Alice.
Alger Hiss among those legions!
#. Seger had to have taken a pay off because he’d have filed a suit. Movie industry is lgbt so he’ll not get anymore offers. That career is dead. Lgbt fatigue, moslem fatigue, black fatigue, immigrant fatigue, political fatigue.
What’s the next unhinged issue?
If sexual orientation discrimination is constitutional, racial discrimination is similarly constitutional.
And they both are.
The so-called anti-discrimination laws are unconstitutional.
Americans enjoy the constitutional freedom and liberty to hold opinions and perspectives.

Does anyone find it to be true that due to unconstitutional virtually free Obongocare, Medicaid, MediCal, etc., it takes more than a month to obtain a doctor’s appointment for actual Americans with actual healthcare insurance they’ve had for decades?
Or the every growing cost of it.
Obama is half black.
So he gets half welfare and half affirmative action?
Symmetry in nature can be beautiful to see.
We need to add some symmetry to our culture. If it’s legal to fire someone over tranny comments on their own time it should be legal to refuse to hire a tranny. I never would. It’s too disturbing and disruptive to normies. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.
The LGBT mafia relish terror and punishment as a way to shut up and shut out anyone with a contrary opinion.
The only way to counter these fascist terrorists is with greater force and greater fear.

Yeah, just take a look at those pics and tell me that is going to be ‘fair.’
Upstate – in spite of the link incorrectly using the word “her” for a biological male, I’m glad to see that the article itself does not engage in that kind of dishonest language.
They look very amateur/young, still sucking on the teat. .. as far as I know, not too many trans/furry issues in pro sports, or high-end college sports?
It’s a silly argument.

Johnathan’s point about inconsistency of speech treatment has appeal. What does not have appeal, especially as it seeks a more perfect union, if that is what the cisgender interest is, is telling any generation of us that everything we hold in learning is wrong, including our pronouns. On medical science claims that are at best fuzzy. The present lift is devoid of Carl Sagan’s “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.” Then there is the culture war of biological men in biological women’s sports. The third event that shapes this reply happened yesterday in the speech realm. The en banc 11th Circuit in HM Florida-Orl, LLC v. Governor et al dissolved a pretrial injunction granted to a restaurant against enforcement of Florida’s criminal statute against knowingly exposing children to obscenity. The core of the dispute was the restaurant wanting to continue offering restaurant drag shows without fear of prosecution. The Court held that Plaintiff was not likely to prevail on its speech theories based on settled law, and could not meet the test for injunction. What emerges from all this as perception of cisgender messaging and action is the oft spoken liberal mantra “by any means necessary”. At least for this writer that is too much like Hamas hiding among women and children.
Here’s a fascinating little bit of insight into how Trump’s control of the GOP is slipping away.
Republican candidate Tom Smith won the primary for US House District 8 in Michigan yesterday, with 50.4% of the vote.
Problem is that he withdrew from the race on July 16 and endorsed another candidate.
Trump endorsed Amir Hasan in the race, but he only got 33% of the vote.
So the voters looked at Trump’s chosen candidate and said, “thanks, but no thanks”, preferring instead to vote for someone who dropped out, but whose name was still on the ballot.
And what does that have to do with the article? For someone suffering from TDS, like you apparently are, every topic is a segue to “but muh! Trump!”
This is all you got ?
Cori Bush got Walloped
What exactly is your point??????
Did Trump endorse Cori Bush ??????

“Here’s a fascinating little bit of insight into how [Schumer, Pelosi, et al.] control of [the Democrat party] is [gone].”
Democratic establishment figures endorsed Haley Stevens for the Michigan U.S. Senate race. She lost to the Islamo-Marxist candidate.
The D’s are now the anti-American party.
I see the notion that men can become women, and that women can become men, and that this idea should be unquestioned as fact by society as a societal delusion no different from the mass hysteria that led to the Salem witch trials, the unquestioned (at the time) ritual abuse of children in Massachusetts daycare centers in the 1980-1990s, the clown panic of 2016, among other hysterical delusions that have afflicted people in other countries throughout history. What I don’t understand is why humans are susceptible to such delusions and why their defense of their delusion is not contemporaneously seen as hysterical.
We are a gregarious species. There is safety at the center of the herd; there is peril at its perimeter. Life apart from the herd produces anxiety; anxiety brings us back to the herd.
And this is why it’s always a brave individual that leads.
There are difference among the cases of Sophie Cunningham, J.K. Rowling, and Geno Segers. Sophie Cunningham is speaking about a subject of which, as a professional athlete, she is an acknowledged expert (women and sports). J. K. Rowlings is self employed and has plenty of FU money so she answers only to herself – the most enviable of positions. Geno Segers is an actor employed by a theater company and is speaking about a subject of which he has no special expertise. If he had talked about acting and being in character, then he would have something special to say. That is not to say that we all need to keep silent with our opinions on a wide variety of topics – just be ready to accept the consequences if your opinions somehow impact the company that employs you.
Lucky guy if you ask me, who would want to be employed by a bunch of weenies anyway? Did the guy a favor by exposing their own idiotic unscientific notions. Anyone who says one gender ‘belongs’ in the other’s sports in completely insincere and a identity panderer.
Guardian’s Howard Bryant wrote, “Sophie Cunningham is now … accepting the role as the right’s anti-Black, anti-transgender culture war ambassador.”
Bryant is wrong. Sophie Cunningham is not anti any of those things. She is for something very logical: women’s sports remaining a place for women to compete against other women, rather than women competing against men. Given the undeniable physical differences between men and women, having a competitive sports league devoted to women competing against other women makes a lot of sense.
The haters understand the tactical advantage of accusing their opponents of hate.
What the haters are slower to understand is what happened to the boy who cried wolf.
What the haters don’t understand is that we can see right through their insincerity and judge them for it.
First off, Segers wasn’t even technically fired—it was a mutual separation, but let’s not let facts get in the way of a good grievance narrative.
The reality is simple: Segers ran his mouth, faced the predictable consequences, and lost his gig. It wasn’t just basic commentary on transgender athletes that landed him in hot water; it was the outright misogyny and mocking tone layered throughout his videos. His free speech rights remain entirely intact—he was perfectly free to broadcast those opinions, and the theater community was perfectly free to decide they didn’t want to work with him. You cannot shock-drop transphobic and misogynistic rants into an industry heavily powered by LGBTQ+ professionals and then act stunned when the cast refuses to share a stage with you.
It is honestly amusing to watch Professor Turley try to spin this into some grand tragedy about “leftist McCarthyism.” Even Turley explicitly admitted he disliked the comments. When even the guy writing the article finds your behavior offensive, it’s not a coordinated political witch hunt—it’s just a standard public relations disaster. The First Amendment protects you from jail, not from the entertainment industry politely showing you the exit.
You have no knowledge of what it is like to be transgender so you can not comment. Unless of course you are now X and not Gigi who was Natasha but sometimes goes by Wally, Sally, esquire and Svelaz. So what are your pronouns, hmmmm?
@Commit
Good catch – they are all the same person, and have nothing better to do with their time – they are the one troll I think is just bitter and bored rather than paid, they’ve been haunting us here for years.
LOL! Nope. Given the widespread lack of reading comprehension on this blog, it is hardly surprising people cannot even distinguish between different commenters.
Whining about “trolls” the moment you run out of actual arguments is incredibly weak. At least the so-called trolls bring substantive points to the table. That is a massive step up from just crying about “leftists” and offering the same run-of-the-mill protestations because you have nothing real to add.
stop whining X, the insults stand on precedent.
So you’re telling me you’re transgender? Cool.
I don’t have to know what it’s like to be transgender to recognize bigotry and plain Jane misogyny to comment or offer my opinion on professor Turley’s article. He’s fair game.
Do YOU know what pronouns are? Because the names you cited are not pronouns, you know that right?
BTW I was never Gigi. Don’t know who that is.
Sure Gigi
I have little problem with what happened to segers – just as I would have no problem with Turley censoring you for being a complete moron.
My concern is with govenrment not private censorship – though I am very concerned when government starts leveraging govenrment power to accomplish private censorship.
All of the above does not change the FACT that all this nonsense – which Turley correctly notes is ON THE LEFT, is just stupid.
I nearly chocked when I saw clips of a Mick Jager interview criticising Bruce Springstein for getting political at his concerts.
I was at the Hackney Diamond Tour in Philadelphia and Mick was NOT keeping his political views to himself.
I would prefer that entertainers did not use their performances as vehicles for their ideology but that is not the world we live in.
The left is purging entertainers that express heretical views. Fine.
I do not want to hear ever again about the immorality of the hollywood blacklists in the 50’s and 60’s
I do not query entertainers for their politics. Most of them have poorly developed repuganant views on pretty close to everything.
That does not alter the fact that they are very good at acting or performing which is what I pay for.
I have no idea if Serger is talented or not – but if the left is purging a talenteted entertainer for their ideolgoy – that is self harm and you deserve it.
Increasingly we are no longer int he hollywood of the 50’s. Most of the entertainment I view today is NOT produced in the US or by the big houses.
Just as thge MSM is being taken out by alternative journalism, the same is happening to entertainment.
And that is good for all of us.
Oh, please. For someone claiming to be a libertarian worried about “government power,” you sure are spending a lot of time crying about the free market doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
No one is “purging” anyone. A private business made a voluntary contractual decision to protect its brand, and a worker agreed to part ways. That is literally free association in a free market. If a business decides a liability isn’t worth the money, dumping them isn’t “self-harm”—it is basic risk management.
Trying to equate a Broadway show protecting its bottom line to the 1950s Hollywood blacklist is laughably dramatic. The 1950s blacklist was driven by federal congressional subpoenas, government intimidation, and the threat of actual prison time. Comparing that to a guy getting booted from Hadestown because his future coworkers refused to share a stage with him is some fantastic victim-complex.
You are right about one thing, though: nobody cares about entertainers’ politics. But they do care about bad PR poisoning a production. If you truly believe in private enterprise and free markets. stop whining when the market gives a performer the boot for tanking his own value and stop blaming the left for doing exactly what the free market is expected to do.
So pressure from the government had no potential impact on Hollywood bottom line in the ’50s. ” Sure Wilbur”
The Eisenhower administration was quietly hostile to MacCarthy. MacCarthyism ended when Eisenhower finally had enough and told MacCarthy quietly to “go to hell”
There is lots of complexity in all of this just as there is today.
MOST of the pushback against the left today is occuring outside of government in the free markets and alot of it is happening quietly.
But we have a holy war in the education system – Schools are unfortunately Govenrment, and even private colleges are massively govenrment funded.
This would all be trivial if we got govenrment entirely out of education. Truly private schools are answerable to parents, students and donors – not government.
Or they would be if the money was coming from government.
What we can not have is Government essentially FORCED to fund left wing ideology – schools are not answerable to students, parents and donors when the money is coming primarily from govenment.
For free markets to work – the market must actually be free.
First, your claim that Eisenhower “quietly” ended McCarthyism is pure fantasy. Eisenhower’s passive, behind-the-scenes grumbling actually allowed McCarthy to terrorize people for years. McCarthyism didn’t end “quietly” in a backroom; it ended brutally and very publicly on national television during the 1954 Army-McCarthy hearings.
It ended because Army counsel Joseph Welch famously looked McCarthy in the eye in front of 80 million viewers and asked, “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?” That public, televised meltdown led directly to the U.S. Senate voting 67–22 to formally censure McCarthy. It was a massive, public, government-driven spectacle from start to finish.
Second, by admitting that the current pushback against left-wing ideology is happening in the free market, you are agreeing that the Hadestown situation is just private business doing what private business does. There are no subpoenas, no jail time, and no state coercion. You finally admitted it is just the market at work.
As for your sudden pivot to education: nice attempt to move the goalposts because you lost the argument on Hollywood. But even your logic there is a complete mess. You claim you want schools only answerable to “parents, students, and donors.”
Newsflash: that is exactly how Broadway works. A theater production is entirely answerable to its ticket buyers, its cast, and its financial backers.
When Geno Segers alienated his castmates and a massive portion of the theater-going public, the producers listened to their stakeholders and parted ways with him. That is the exact free-market accountability you claim to crave. You cannot praise the free market for holding people accountable, and then cry “McCarthyism” the absolute second the market holds someone accountable whose politics you happen to agree with. For free markets to work, you have to accept the outcomes even when they hurt your feelings.
This has nothing to do with the “left”.
Not Crying about anything.
“No one is “purging” anyone. ”
Of course they are.
You do not seem to grasp there is a difference between saying” I will defend to the death your right to say it”
and endorsing what you say.
“A private business made a voluntary contractual decision to protect its brand, and a worker agreed to part ways. That is literally free association in a free market. If a business decides a liability isn’t worth the money, dumping them isn’t “self-harm”—it is basic risk management.”
So many assumptions. I have no idea what is in the interests of this particular theater company in NYC – though I would guess that getting rid of Serger was in their brand and financial interests. But as we saw with Anheiser-Bush, John Deere, Harley Davidson and Disney – what plays in NYC does not play nationally.
“Trying to equate a Broadway show protecting its bottom line to the 1950s Hollywood blacklist is laughably dramatic.”
ROFL
“The 1950s blacklist was driven by federal congressional subpoenas, government intimidation, and the threat of actual prison time.”
Maybe you should learn some history. MacCarthy losts his fight – with all respect to Edgar Morrow – He lost because the Eisenhower administration told Joe to F$%K himself – though they did so quietly.
Regardless Sen Joe and the federal government did not start the blacklists – big players in Hollywood did.
And they did a wonderful job of both intimidating big ticket artists and protecting them when they strayed – see Lucile Ball.
Finally the really big deal about being publicly exposed as communist affiliated in the 50’s was the end of your carreer because no one would watch your work.
All that is the free market at work.
I am not a big fan of the 50’s blacklists – and Sen. MacCarthy was a drunk who picked a briefly popular issue to get his 15 minutes of fame. Or in his case centuries of infamy.
But please quit this nonsense that the conduct of the left is any different.
You have tried to do exactly the same thing with J6ers. You keep ranting insurrection, insurrection, insurrection.
If there is ever anything within 1000 miles of an insurection from the right you will know it. There are more guns in the US than people – and it is not left wing nuts that own those guns.
Regardless, you used government to torture people you disagreed with for protesting a lawless and fraudulent election. Those protestors should have gotten exactly what they demanded – refusal to certify the garbage you were selling and an open investigation.
Under the very broadest legitimate interpretation of culpability – there were at most a handful of people engaged in violence – entirely at the west tunnel entrance, and after the CP vilated their rights by teargassing a lawful and peaceful protest.
Yet you persecuted thousands. People who were not in DC. People who did nothing but walk through the Capital – often escorted by the CP.
You claim that government was somehow deeply involved in the 50’s blacklists – EDisenhower was president at the time and he was quietly RESISTING MacCarthyism
So who was it in government that was censoring hollywood ?
And please lets not rant about congressional subpeonas – Left wing nuts are constantly dragging completely private actors before congress for tongue lashings.
” Comparing that to a guy getting booted from Hadestown because his future coworkers refused to share a stage with him is some fantastic victim-complex.”
I have neither said what you claimed nor do I care of accept your characterization.
“You are right about one thing, though: nobody cares about entertainers’ politics.”
Then why did Serger get the boot ?
YOU left wing nuts not only care about people politics – you care about tiny deviations from dogma among your own.
“But they do care about bad PR poisoning a production.”
They do – though even that is complicated.
Has disney had a long string of flops because the actors and actresses have been toxic ?
Or just because the productions sucked ?
I beleive the last hit Disney had was a weak but innoffensive doll story.
But atleast with animated productions the actors can not say stupid things and tank sales.
” If you truly believe in private enterprise and free markets.”
You completely fail to grasp how this works.
This is a difference between depending the right of people to say repugnant stuff,
and endorsing what they say.
In this case there is a difference between holding ones nose to defend the NYC theaters cancellation of an actor,
And defending the repugnant ideology that is at the root of that cancellation.
I absolutely support the right of NYC theater to blackball actors who offend left wing nut sensibilities
BECAUSE that is the same right of the markets through the US to cancel exactly that ideology nationwide.
Absent government coercion busniness across the country are firing DEI departments and burning DEI policies en masse.
Why ? Because they are unpopular with employees, customers, they are not only unproductive they are anti-productive.
Oh, boy. You are so desperate to “win” this that you just unraveled into a chaotic, multi-paragraph meltdown about Bud Light, Disney, J6, and your personal gun collection.
Before we address your historical BS trip, let’s fix a basic reading comprehension error: stop saying “you.” I am an individual arguing with you on a blog. I didn’t certify the 2020 election, I didn’t command the Capitol Police, and I haven’t “persecuted” thousands of people. Pointing out your logical flaws doesn’t make me the mastermind of the federal government. Take a breath man.
Now, let’s look at how badly you just fractured your own argument:
1. You Just Conceded the Entire Point. You explicitly wrote: “I absolutely support the right of NYC theater to blackball actors who offend left wing nut sensibilities, BECAUSE that is the same right of the markets through the US to cancel exactly that ideology nationwide.”
Thank you! That is exactly what I have been saying from the very beginning. It is a private business exercising its right to protect its brand. By admitting that you support their legal right to do it, you have officially agreed with me.
You can stop crying about “purges” now. It’s just the free market—a concept you claim to understand but clearly struggle to accept when it hurts your feelings.
2. Your HUAC History is Pure BS. You asked: “So who was it in government that was censoring hollywood?” How do you not know this? It was HUAC—the House Un-American Activities Committee. That is a congressional committee. Eisenhower was the head of the executive branch. The President does not control Congress. HUAC was heavily driven by a coalition of conservative Republicans and right-wing Southern Dixiecrats who used federal subpoenas and jail time to terrorize the industry.
And no, the studios didn’t start the blacklist out of “free market” choice; they started it under direct threat of federal regulation and antitrust crackdowns from Congress if they didn’t comply. Comparing a literal federal congressional witch hunt to Hadestown producers listening to their ticket buyers is one massive false equivalence.
3. “Why did Segers get the boot if nobody cares about politics?”
You thought this was a gotcha, but it’s just sad. Nobody cares about an actor’s quiet personal politics. People do care when an actor publicly posts mocking, transphobic, and misogynistic rants that alienate his future coworkers and the specific audience that buys Broadway tickets. It wasn’t his “politics” that got him booted; it was his horrific public relations judgment.
If you truly believe in private enterprise, stop whining when a business fires a worker for tanking his own commercial value. You claim you want the market to be free, but you clearly only like the free market when it cancels things you don’t like. Welcome to capitalism. It doesn’t care about your feelings.
Blaming the left for being so anti-science.
The best woman is a man, right X?
X – while I am not as outraged as Turley – nor as concerned – problems here will solve themselves.
Frankly left wing nut censorship absent govenrnment is a self punishing act.
Still Turtley’s comparison to MacCarthyism is apt and correct.
Are you prepared to admitt that the blacklisting of artists and writers in the 50’s and 60’s was perfectly OK ?
Either it was – an the behavior of the left today is too, or it was not and the behavior of the left today is not moral.
I find the remarks of Deniro, Springstein, and Streep to be ignorant ill informed and stupid.
I still think they are all great entertainers.
I do not go to concerts, movies, … for the politics.
“The First Amendment protects you from jail, not from the entertainment industry politely showing you the exit.”
So you are OK with the entertainment industry blacklisting those on the left in the 50’s and 60’s ?
To the extent there is any difference – Communism is a dangerous political scheme.,
While men in womens sports is stupid and self destructive.
If I want to watch men in sports I will turn on the NFL – not the WNBA
You are completely missing the entire point of the 1950s blacklists, which makes your comparison totally irrelevant.
The 1950s Hollywood blacklist wasn’t just a bunch of private businesses making voluntary choices. It was driven by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC)—a committee run by conservatives—a literal arm of the federal government—using congressional subpoenas, cross-examinations, and threats of federal prison for contempt of Congress to force studios into compliance. That is state coercion. That is government overreach.
Comparing a federal government witch hunt to a Broadway cast voluntarily refusing to share a stage with a guy who mocked them is pure false equivalence.
As a libertarian, you should understand the difference between authoritarian government overreach and basic freedom of association. The producers of Hadestown and the actors in it have the absolute right to choose who they associate and do business with. Nobody is blacklisting Segers from the industry by law. If the market decides he is too much of a PR liability to hire, that is the free market working exactly as intended. You can’t wave the flag of private property rights and free markets, and then cry “McCarthyism” the second a private business uses those exact rights to protect its bottom line.
This isn’t “left-wing censorship.” It is the free market working exactly how capitalists always say it should. If you alienate your coworkers, your customers, or your sponsors, you lose your value to the business. Blaming a “leftist mob” for a standard corporate risk assessment is just a lazy way to avoid admitting that the market has spoken.

“HUAC–a committee run by conservatives” ? !????!!!
During the “1950s HUAC Hollywood blacklist years” that you speak of, Francis Walters (D-PA) was the Chair (serving a total of 11 years on HUAC, 1951-1963, but being the Chair for NINE of those years. Indeed, much of HUAC during and prior to that time, the HUAC was controlled by Democrat strong arms on its Standing Committee, including John E. Raskin and Martin Dies. Other prominent Democrats on the Committee included Adolph Sabath, John J. Cochran, and Herman Eberharter.
tsk. tsk.
Anonymous, you should read your “research” more carefully.
Remember, this was in the 50’s and early 60’s. Who was conservative in those times?
Martin Dies Jr. was a conservative Southern Democrat from Texas who despised the New Deal and weaponized HUAC to crush labor unions and leftist organizers.
John E. Rankin was a notorious, white-supremacist “Dixiecrat” from Mississippi. He openly aligned with Republicans to form the Conservative Coalition, which ran Congress for decades. He spearheaded making HUAC a permanent standing committee specifically to investigate “pink teachers” and civil rights activists.
Francis Walter was a hardline, anti-immigration conservative Democrat from Pennsylvania who co-authored the McCarran-Walter Act—a law so draconian and right-wing that progressive Democratic President Harry Truman aggressively vetoed it.
The faction that ran HUAC consisted of ultraconservative Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats) and conservative Republicans like J. Parnell Thomas and a young Richard Nixon. They united under a shared conservative, anti-communist banner to use the literal power of the federal government to blacklist their political enemies.
Man, you walked right into that one. LOL!
Next time try to actually read. You might learn something.
Nope. YOUR intention was to show that “conservatives” were responsible for all those bad HUAC actions.
OUR intention (my wife and I) was to show you that your happy association with Democrats, liberals, and progressives is hardly hidden with your labels, since it was the DEMOCRATS who were responsible for what you labeled “conservative.” Funny that you didn;t mention the other three Democrats on the standing commitee that we mentioned, and there were more.
You simply look for labels, or create them, then build your story around them. yesterday, you accused Turley of “implying” something, so what goes around comes around, eh?
Wow, talk about a desperate attempt to move the goalposts. Do you actually understand what you wrote?
You are the one who listed a bunch of names with “(D-PA)”, You were the one who brought up their party affiliations, not me. You literally typed out a laundry list of names followed by “(D-PA)” and, tried to use the fact that they were Democrats as proof that they couldn’t be the “conservatives” I was talking about. You’re hilarious.
It is scary how bad you’re at reading comprehension, and that was with the help of your wife? Did she hold up the pop-up book you used to search for a response?
listen X, apparently you don’t understand what you are writing, so filled with stupid defending yourself against your own mistakes.
In all your comments, you brag your support for the Democratic party and socialists. Then YOU, not me, decided to throw in that the HUAC was run by “conservatives.” YOU were the one who labeled the committee leaders as “conservatives.” Like a real negative compared to your holy Democrats. So the wife and I simply pointed out that the HUAC was run by a bunch of Democrats, including the ones you failed to acknowledge. So just shut up and eat your own crow. Don’t make more out of this than what there is.
That is what you always try to do, and by the looks of everyone’s comments, you don’t seem to haVe much regard or credibility.
meant to say, your bragging support for the Democratic party and Democratic socialism. As we said, we simply point out that all your boogie men were Democrats. You really are dense.
LOL!!!!
I never mentioned Democrats until YOU did. I only said HUAC was run by conservatives. YOU thought you had a “gotcha” moment when your lazy research skills and poor reading comprehension issues led you to immediately apply party affiliation as proof conservatives did not run HUAC. But as you now know back in the 50’s Democrats, specifically southern Democrats were conservative. Which supports my original claim. Your’e the idiot who got caught being lazy with your “research”.
LOL, you’re just embarrassed about getting caught on your screwup. It was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh. Hope your wife does a better job when she has to help you phrase responses.
X proven wrong and uses quote from biased BRAVE AI which uses RAG to generate from web search! What a piker!
ALL democrats! EAT CROW X!
“Martin Dies Jr. was a conservative Southern Democrat from Texas who despised the New Deal and weaponized HUAC to crush labor unions and leftist organizers.”
That would be called a southern PROGRESSIVE – you seem to fail to grasp the dark history of democrats and progressives.
You want to take every evil thing in US history – even those things democrats and progressives have done and blame it on conservative republicans.
Dies ended up chairing HUAC through the influence of John Nance Garner – FDR’s VP. Dies was an initial strong supporter of the New Deal – which was VERY COMMON amoung southern PROGRESSIVE democrats. While anti-union positions are the fig leaf you are trying to hide behind – Southern Anti-Union politics was about racism
“John E. Rankin was a notorious, white-supremacist “Dixiecrat” from Mississippi”
Dixiecrats were among the most progressive of southern democrats. Rankin was a huge New Deal supporter and absolutely another southern progressive democrat Racist.
.”He openly aligned with Republicans to form the Conservative Coalition, which ran Congress for decades.”
Rankin served from 1921 to 1953 – When is it during that period that you think Congress was controlled by republican conservatives ?
” He spearheaded making HUAC a permanent standing committee specifically to investigate “pink teachers” and civil rights activists.”
So ? Again A PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRAT
“Francis Walter was a hardline, anti-immigration conservative Democrat from Pennsylvania who co-authored the McCarran-Walter Act—a law so draconian and right-wing that progressive Democratic President Harry Truman aggressively vetoed it.”
I would strongly suggest that you get better sources – Walter was anti-illegal immigration – he expanded legal immigration .
Regardless another racist progressive DEMOCRAT.
“The faction that ran HUAC consisted of ultraconservative Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats) and conservative Republicans like J. Parnell Thomas and a young Richard Nixon. They united under a shared conservative, anti-communist banner to use the literal power of the federal government to blacklist their political enemies.”
Spin baby spin.
RFK and JFK were in the senate and major anti-communists at the same time. Nixon was one of the leaders going after Alger Hiss – and as it turns out Hiss was an actual communist spy. Oops.
“Man, you walked right into that one. LOL!”
YUP you did
“Next time try to actually read. You might learn something.”
Take your own advice.
You keep pretending that southern progressivism – infact progressivism generally in the first half of the 20th century was somehow akin to Republican conservatism.
It was not. It was quasi socialist, and it was incredibly racist. Margret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood was actively seeking to use brith control a a means of genocide targeting blacks. Woodrow Wilson segregated the executive branch tossing out numerous blacks, founding the administrative state, and running the most racist white-house in US history.
Modern progressives are no less racist – just much more condescending.
John Say, you’re absolutely hilarious.
Supporting the New Deal in the early 1930s did not make a politician an ideological progressive. Early New Deal programs (like the Tennessee Valley Authority or agricultural subsidies) brought massive federal investments, electrification, and modern infrastructure to an impoverished, rural South. Southern segregationist Democrats voted for these bills out of regional self-interest.
Once the New Deal shifted toward protecting labor unions (via the Wagner Act) and hinting at civil rights, these politicians turned aggressively against it. They did not remain progressives; they became the vanguard of congressional conservatism.
Nice try. Apparently you don’t know your history. From 1937 until the 1960s, Congress was functionally controlled by the Conservative Coalition—an explicit, documented voting alliance between conservative Republicans and conservative Southern Democrats.
Together, they held a mathematical majority that successfully blocked civil rights legislation, killed progressive labor reforms, and dismantled New Deal agencies. John Rankin himself was an active leader in this conservative voting bloc.
“Dixiecrats were among the most progressive of southern democrats.”
ROFL!!!
The Dixiecrats, the ‘states rights Democrats’ walked out of the 1948 Democratic National Convention precisely because the party adopted a progressive civil rights platform. Their entire platform was built on states’ rights, racial segregation, and a strict, conservative opposition to federal government intervention in state social structures. Calling the Dixiecrats “progressive” contradicts the definition of the word and their own stated manifesto.
You said Francis Walter was just “anti-illegal immigration” and actually “expanded legal immigration.”
Nope.
The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952 was heavily criticized by contemporaries for preserving a rigid, highly restrictive national-origins quota system that favored Northern and Western Europeans while severely limiting immigration from the rest of the world.
Progressive Democratic President Harry Truman vetoed the bill specifically because it was discriminatory and xenophobic, stating that it would “perpetuate injustices” and apply “anti-democratic” concepts. Congress, led by the Conservative Coalition, which conservative democrats were a part of, overrode his veto.
Your attempt at historical revisionism is laughably embarrassing.
sounds like a buch of scummy leftists if you ask me or did they support lincoln?
HUAC was a sub committee of congress.
Its actions were no different than the Democrat J6 committee.
Yes, I am equally offended by both.
“You are completely missing the entire point of the 1950s blacklists, which makes your comparison totally irrelevant”
Nope.
“The 1950s Hollywood blacklist wasn’t just a bunch of private businesses making voluntary choices.”
But it was. No law was passed. President Eisenhower did not send the marines to Hollywood – in fact MacCarthy was stopped primarily by Eisenhower – a conservative republican.
“It was driven by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC)—a committee run by conservatives—a literal arm of the federal government—using congressional subpoenas, cross-examinations, and threats of federal prison for contempt of Congress to force studios into compliance. That is state coercion. That is government overreach.”
All of the above was true of the J6 committee.
Democrat congressmen routinely threaten businesses to coerce them into desired conduct – often without ever passing a law.
“Comparing a federal government witch hunt”
HUAC was the House, MacCarthy was the Senate – Eisenhower was the president – his administrations was one of the Targets of HAUC and MacCarthy.
While the actions of HUAC anbd Sen. MacCarthy were reprehensible – nor were they limited to “conservatives” – JFK and RFK were partisipants in the communist witch hunt, regardless congress is not the federal govenrment. It is a part of the federal government with no enforcement power. Eisenhower had the enforcement power. For the most part he Quietly ignored congresses witch hunts.
“As a libertarian, you should understand the difference between authoritarian government overreach and basic freedom of association. ”
More adjective nonsense – all govenrment is authoritarian. You limit government authoritarianism by limiting govenrment power.
Untill you are ready to do so – the rest of the discussion is moot.
“The producers of Hadestown and the actors in it have the absolute right to choose who they associate and do business with.”
As to those who posted signs No Irish need apply”
And absolute right requires absolute freedom – including the freedom to make choices that the rest of us find heinous – which we can punish if we choose by withdrawing our patronage.
I am really not interested in your claims regarding rights and freedoms – until you are prepared to extricate govenrment from the markets.
If you are busy requiring businesses to discriminate, or to not discuriminate, if you are subsiding private enterprises like universities or wholesale taking them over like K-12 education – then you do not have a true free market you can trust to self regulate.
” Nobody is blacklisting Segers from the industry by law. ”
Please find the law that congress passed int he 50’s that required Hollywood to blacklist ?
“If the market decides he is too much of a PR liability to hire, that is the free market working exactly as intended.”
Correct. Just as it did with Mulvaney and has done with a long string of Disney flops.
“You can’t wave the flag of private property rights and free markets, and then cry “McCarthyism” the second a private business uses those exact rights to protect its bottom line.” / Of course I can – You keep claiming that MacCarthyism was govenrment. But it was not. It was people with power in Hollywood blacklisting others without power in Hollywood. MacCarthy may have been a senator, but his role was as a spokesperson. You rant about MacCarthy and HUAC – but does anyone expect different from house democrats if the Dems regain the House in November ? Grandstanding politicians trying to intimidate private actors is not something new. It is not something republicans invented.
“This isn’t “left-wing censorship.” It is the free market working exactly how capitalists always say it should. If you alienate your coworkers, your customers, or your sponsors, you lose your value to the business.”
Absolutely. How did that work differently in Hollywood in the 50’s and 60’s ? You keep ranting about government – but you have cited no law. HAUC was a house sub committee., MacCarthy was a senator. While Eisenhower mostly ignored this all – until it directly effected him, and then he stopped it – Eisenhower – The federal Govenrment was not involved.
“Blaming a “leftist mob” for a standard corporate risk assessment is just a lazy way to avoid admitting that the market has spoken.”
Not blaming the left. But I am demanding that you end the double standard.
Again – NYC is not the country – Sergers remarks offended those in NYC – absolutely the NYC theater can respond to protect their interests.
Just as John Deere, Harley Davidson can respond nationally.
Just as the markets can punish Anheiser Bush for pro-trans activism.
Just as parents can punish disney for producing a long string of crap.
You want government out of it – I agree. Get rid of all law regarding private discrimination – let the markets decide.
Get rid of all govenrment subsidies for private businesses – return businesses to free market regulation.
Get rid of govenrment competition with markets. Sell off the public schools.
Absolutely govenrment should not be investigating the free speech activities of americans – Not JUAC – not the J6 committee.
The objective is not let the free markets decide – when things go my way, but have government step in when they don’t
John Say, your history revisionism and illiteracy is legendary.
HUAC and Senator McCarthy did not just give speeches; they wielded the compulsory power of the state. HUAC issued legally binding federal subpoenas. If a Hollywood writer or actor refused to answer their questions, they weren’t just criticized by a “spokesperson”—they were cited for Contempt of Congress, indicted by a federal grand jury, tried in a federal court, and sent to federal prison.
To claim the government wasn’t involved when citizens were literally put in federal prison cells for refusing to name names is pure dishonesty.
You claim the Hollywood blacklist was just “private businesses making voluntary choices” and the “free market working exactly as intended.” Nope.
A choice made with a gun to your head is not “voluntary,” and a market operating under threat of government destruction is not a “free market.” Hollywood studios did not blacklist workers because of consumer demand or corporate risk assessment. They did it because HUAC explicitly threatened to shut down the film industry, strip studios of their tax protections, and jail executives if they did not comply.
You claim HUAC’s actions were “no different than the Democrat J6 committee.”
Pure false equivalence. HUAC targeted private citizens (actors, writers, teachers, union organizers) for their personal, lawful political beliefs, speech, and associations.
The January 6th Committee investigated a specific, violent physical assault on the U.S. Capitol and the disruption of a constitutional electoral process. Investigating a security breach and an attempt to overturn an election is a standard oversight function of Congress; investigating private citizens for writing “leftist” screenplays is an ideological witch hunt.
It is painfully obvious that you have a poor grasp of history or you are just plain intentionally disingenuous with the facts because reality does not conform to your twisted views.
You say McCarthy was stopped primarily by Eisenhower – a conservative republican. Not true. The funny thing is you never provide any supporting evidence. You just pull it out of your a$$.
Eisenhower notoriously refused to confront McCarthy publicly for years, adopting a strategy of “hidden-hand leadership” that allowed McCarthy to ruin thousands of lives unchecked.
McCarthy was not stopped by Eisenhower; he was stopped by his own overreach when he targeted the U.S. Army, leading directly to the televised Army-McCarthy hearings where his cruelty was exposed to the public, resulting in his censure by his fellow Senators—not the executive branch.
Lying about such well known historical events is a dead give-away that you’re just making things up to support your twisted view of reality. Libertarians love to change history to fit their unworkable fantasies.
To answer your question directly: No, I am completely not okay with the 1950s and 60s blacklists. Because I actually understand what they were.
You are trying to create a false choice where I have to either defend a federal government witch hunt or defend a guy who got himself booted from a Broadway show. I reject the premise entirely.
As a libertarian, you should be the first to spot the massive, glaring difference here:
The 1950s Blacklist: This was driven by HUAC—a government committee run by conservative politicians utilizing the full coercive power of the state. They used congressional subpoenas, threats of federal prison, and institutional blacklisting to force private studios into compliance. That is a textbook violation of individual liberty by the government.
The Geno Segers Situation: This is the free market in action. No politicians subpoenaed Hadestown. No government agency threatened the producers with jail time. A private business and its workers voluntarily decided they did not want to associate with a person who became a massive public relations liability and insulted his own coworkers.
It had nothing to do with “leftists”. Turley just threw that in to rage bait the gullible MAGA’s.
“Because I actually understand what they were.”
But you don’t
On issue after issue today you have had to be schooled.
You do not know the difference between a racist southern progressive, a dixiecrat and a conservative republican.
“You are trying to create a false choice where I have to either defend a federal government witch hunt or defend a guy who got himself booted from a Broadway show. I reject the premise entirely.”
Nope, the hollywood blacklists were Hollywood businesses acting on their own.
“As a libertarian, you should be the first to spot the massive, glaring difference here:”
I have problems with lots of what occurs in congress – but the grandstanding of congressmen is even less actual govenrment action than Trump saying “somebody should fire that guy”
Government action requires government to ACT.
The hollywood blacklists were not govenrnment action. I will be happy to condemn grandstanding politicians.
And sometimes they do intimidate private actors – even intgentionally. Not something unique to republicans and conservatives.
“The 1950s Blacklist: This was driven by HUAC—a government committee run by conservative politicians utilizing the full coercive power of the state. ”
The entire house of representative does not even have PARTIAL power of the united states.
Again you want me to condemn grandstanding politicians – absolutely.
“They used congressional subpoenas,”
Congress subpeana’s people – nothing new.
I would be happy to put limits on congressional subpeonas.
I think there must be a clear Nexus to legitimate limited government actions to subpeona anyone not in governemnt.
But that is nbot what you beleive and that is not how things are.
” threats of federal prison”
Not a legitimate power of congress.
Only DOJ can prosecute a federal crime and Eisenhower was president and pretty much ignoring HUAC.
“institutional blacklisting to force private studios into compliance. ”
Did they pass a law ?
“That is a textbook violation of individual liberty by the government.”
You have totally failed to demonstrate that.
“It had nothing to do with “leftists”.”
Of course it did – Serger offended leftists.
John Say, you’re incredibly ignorant and it shows.
You’ve provided zero evidence to back up your inaccurate claims. None.
You say threats of federal prison… are not a legitimate power of congress. Only DOJ can prosecute a federal crime.
Nope. Have you been paying attention to Sen. Paul’s threats against Dr. Fauci? If what you say is true then Sen. Paul’s threats are not legitimate. Your logic, not mine.
The U.S. Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that Congress possesses the inherent constitutional power to investigate and enforce its subpoenas through imprisonment. Under Contempt of Congress (2 U.S.C. § 192), individuals who refuse to answer committee questions are indicted by a federal grand jury and sent to federal prison.
You do understand what the word “threaten” means, right? Because Congress CAN threaten a lot of things, including imprisonment. What it CANNOT do is enforce it, that’s the distinction.
Congress can threaten prison time or prosecution anytime a threat is warranted.
Members of the “Hollywood Ten” (like screenwriters Alvah Bessie and Dalton Trumbo) were physically locked inside federal penitentiaries for up to a year. Claiming a citizen being locked in a federal prison cell by the state is “not government action” defies all legal reality. You’re one really confused individual.
You stated, “Did they pass a law? … “ that Government action requires government to ACT.
Government action includes any exercise of state power by government officials acting in their official capacity. When HUAC issued legally binding federal subpoenas, held televised interrogations, and referred citizens for criminal prosecution, it was actively deploying the machinery of the state.
To a libertarian (you), the definition of state tyranny is the government using the threat of violence and imprisonment to force private citizens to comply. You know, the whole “government force” thing you’re always declaring. That is exactly what HUAC did. Now you’re denying it is a thing? Wow. The hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance is amazing.
You claim that the Hollywood blacklists were Hollywood businesses acting on their own.
ROFL! Nope.
Hollywood studios only enacted the black listing after HUAC began jailing their writers and threatening to revoke the film industry’s lucrative tax exemptions. You know the government force you constantly mention.
A private business choosing to fire someone because a politician waves a federal subpoena and threatens them with financial destruction or prison is not a “free market choice.” It is state-coerced censorship.
Seger offended not just “leftists” he offended people like professor Turley and many others. Let’s not forget that even “leftists” also work within the free market and they do what the free market is supposed to do. You just want to pin this on “leftists” because it fits your biases, and allows you to ignore the reality that this was a function of your beloved free market. He got let go because he became a liability to the theatre company and he agreed. Turley twisted an actor’s poor choice to run his mouth on social media and he paid the consequences into a “leftist” agenda. It’s as simple as that.
C’mon now X, eat that crow, you’ve been PROVEN wrong again! Stop depending on AI for your smarts.
Proven wrong? You can barely grasp the concept of reading comprehension. Much less understand what you read.
You’re just embarrassed that you got owned and you’re just lashing out in frustration. So sad.
So X, is it XX or XY?
“He has now been fired, even after an attempt to apologize for expressing his own views on the subject”
Why apologize for you’re opinion? Stand fast, his fans should boycott their production s, let them live by their own rules, expose them for what they are.
#. It’s a matter for congress. Title IX addresses women. Change the language to women and transwomen. They won’t.
Free speech issue?
Carpe diem
Did Mr. Seger have any kind of contract with a gag clause? He’s suffered real damage as a result of his speech. Was there a settlement of some kind before he left employ?
Communists put a man into space first. Maybe Elon Musk could learn a thing or two from them, as his rockets keep exploding.
Russia has lost many of it’s own rockets. Shall we bring up the deaths too.
Plus they never made it o the moon.
The death of rockets? Oh Dustoff just shut-up.
The Russians were the first to put a vehicle on the moon. In 1959 and 1966. And Venus.
What have they done lately?
Musk can capture a descending rocket.
Musk is expected to put NASA back on the moon.
Too stupid to follow the thread eh? So from Russia to Musk?
The PRC has the same capture technology.
Russians never sent anything to the moon, it was the Soviet Union. Understand the difference? You’re an idiot.
The PRC has stolen it from Musk and still does not have it working.
Their reusable rocket is a clone of a Falcon 9 and is still atleast 5 years from What Musk is doing with Falcon 9 NOW.
And Starship is in a completely different world with only Bezos’s new glenn as competition.
John Say
You simply make stuff up
You have no credibility whatsoever.
The Chinese capture mechanism is COMPLETELY different from that used by Spacex. There is absolutely NOTHING in common between the 2 systems.
The Chinese did not steal anything.
The Chinese mechanism operated flawlessly on the first attempt. Spacex had multiple failures before success.
ROFL
\https://www.digitaltrends.com/space/china-tried-to-copy-spacexs-falcon-9-landing-but-this-is-what-happened/
Please familiarize yourself with the subjects you post on.
The Chinese are notorios for ripping off technology.
The chinese stole their aircraft from Russia – and it has taken decades for them to get the jut engines to work.
Musk bought his original rocket engine design from Russia – but his current generation is far ahead of what he bought.
Musk soft landed a Falcon 9 booster in 2015. Bezos has done that with New Glenn ONCE. China failed to do so in 2025 and I believe succeeded recently.
No China did not succeed on the first attempt.
Falcon 9 has not had a failure in over 500 flights NO ONE has a record close to that.
Musk has more successful Starship landings than Everyone else combined – and Starship is more than a decade ahead of anything except Bezo’s new Glenn.
Yes Bezos had multiple failures at the start – No one had ever done this before.
It is far harder to be first.
The chinese are not stupid. They did eventually succeed in getting their stolen russian technology working. They have far more aeronautical production capacity than Russia and they are approaching Russia in terms of design ability.
They will catch up to Falcon 9 and probably in less than a decade – but that does not alter the fact that they are behind.
Stealing technology is useless unless you have the skill necessary o make it work.
Further it is ALWAYS easier to be the 2nd to achieve something – it is much easier to avoid the mistakes of the pioneer, and unlike the first – you know the problem can be solved.
Who was the moron who started with, “Communists put a man into space first. Maybe Elon Musk could learn a thing or two from them, as his rockets keep exploding.” at 10:22am?
That would of been you.
As we have called you out and owned you, you have to fall back on semantics.
You just made yourself look like the idiot.
Learn to read ANO
Shall we bring up the deaths too. PEOPLE you fool! Not only their astronauts, but ground support.
Read some history.
Learn to write dustoff. You are unintelligible. You have serious problem with reading and understanding what you yourself wrote.
Learn to read. It’s not that hard.
Anonymous, and Elon Musk has put satellites in space that allow people in remote Africa to have access to the internet.
If a child is hurt in an accident in a remote part of the world there would be no way to call for help in your little world.
For you if the name Musk is uttered your compassion disappears. The question is do you really have any?
. . . as his rockets keep exploding.
That’s actually an interesting topic. SpaceX rockets blow up because the company uses a rapid, iterative test-to-failure strategy, pushing hardware to its limits rather than aiming for perfection on the ground. These high-profile explosions – often called “rapid unscheduled disassemblies” – are a deliberate way to gather real-world data. Most users on Quora agree that this approach helps them find design flaws faster than traditional aerospace methods.
Musks production rockets have an unparalleled safety record. Since Falcon 9 went from development to production there have been over 500 consecutive launches without failures.
SpaceX deliberately risks mishap on development systems to evaluate changes and speed up the rate of improvement.
Starship is Still in development. Falson 9 is not.
NASA does not have 500 straight launches of ANYTHING without mishap.
We had 3 Apollo disasters out of 17
The space shuttle did better – we only blew up 2 out of 135.
Musk has had over 500 STRAIGHT successful Falcon 9 launches.
NO ONE has ever done as well.
One of the reasons is because of the risks he took during development.
Plus John, who saved our Astronauts from the Boeing failure. Musk……………. !!!
First USSR man in space died in space.
Yeah but commies suck!
The USSR? Whatever happened to THAT nation of communists? oh yeah they went capitalist. go figure. same thing happened in China! commies can’t get enough of that PRIVATE property! I guess they’re human too (in some ways).
Turley tells us why he was fired while there may have been a number of reasons. If he sued and his case went to the Supreme Court, he would have to prove intent, despite whatever proof supporting his claim that he was indeed fired. Maybe there could be a class action suit demonstrating that people who complain about transgender athletes get fired at a disproportional rate, just to have the facts ignored because there was no proven intent. On the upside, he could always perform at the Kennedy Trump Center. Oops, it’s just the Kennedy Center again because Congress didn’t name it for Trump. All Trump has to do is ask Mike Johnson, who’ll do anything for him. He’ll get the ball rolling.
One question, if anyone knows. What percentage of people playing in women’s sports are transgender? I wonder if it’s more than the .003% of Democratic Socialists of America that make up the Democratic Party.
Enigma indeed. If a transgender man takes even one women’s place on a team it’s wrong.
If a transgender man who is a boxer knocks even one woman senseless it’s wrong.
If a transgender man defeats a woman wrestler who’s worked for years to become an Olympic champion it’s wrong.
In boxing there are weight classes. Would it be alright with you if a heavy weight was allowed to fight a lightweight?
Hopefully you do not have any daughters because if you did you would be part of their losing when they were not given a fair chance to win. Would they want to be your daughters when you wouldn’t stand up for them?
No they would not.
I have two daughters, nine granddaughters, and one great granddaughter, none of whom (to my knowledge) have ever had their life changed because of a transgender athlete.
If even one transgender male or female commits suicide because the American president, and elected officials, and schools singled them out for persecution. That would be too many.
Are there enough transgender athletes to form their own leagues? I don’t think so but maybe. I remember when women playing men’s sports was celebrated, like girl kickers on a high school football team. I played sports until my knees said stop in my late fifties and can’t express how much they contribute to a person’s development. It sounds like people are saying there’s no place at all for transgender athletes. It also sounds like people are saying there’s no place for transgender people.
Since 2020, at least around 150–200 transgender and gender‑nonconforming people have been killed in the United States, based on compiled advocacy and research reports. Most of these killings are understood by advocates as bias‑motivated or hate‑based, even when they are not legally classified as hate crimes in court records.
Enigma, I thought that you would tell us if you had daughters. A transgender man may have not pushed one of your daughters out of a spot on a team but it has happened to other parents and you couldn’t care less. I asked you if you would fight for your daughter in the same situation and you copped out again by saying how few trans men there are so there’s really nothing to worry about. Women at a high level in their sport are also a very small portion of society so in your world small percentages of the population discriminated against are no problem unless they happen to be trans men. The percentage of black people in America is only 13.5 percent so why should we be concerned about discrimination against such a small portion of the population? Hey, no big deal right?
I’ll ask you once again. Would you stand up for your daughter if she was replaced by a trans white man?
My suspicion is that unlike the man who stood up against transgender men replacing women in sports with his job on the line you would cower in a corner for fear that you might lose your job. We got it.
We’re talking hypothetically here, a girl trying out for a team sport has to be among the top 10-20 depending on the sport to make the team. Some people trying out have advantages, some physical, mostly due to heredity. Some kids can afford to go to off-season camps or have private coaches. You’d never think of disallowing that. If my daughter didn’t make a team based on one transgender person getting a spot. She may not have been good enough for the last spot.
I’ve yet to hear of a wave of boys turning themselves into girls to get an advantage in girls sports. As reasons go for sex changes, I suspect it ranks near the bottom. If you want to make transgender people ineligible for Olympic medals, you can make that case, but the argument might have been better when amateurism existed.
I’ve yet to hear of a wave of boys turning themselves into girls to get an advantage in girls sports.
I don’t know what your definition of “wave” is, but it happens with enough frequency that it’s been in the news for years now, at many different universities and high schools. Every such instance is an injustice, regardless of their numerosity. Many girls train their whole lives for competitions, not only to win honors and awards as credentials, but to get athletic scholarships. There are many, many instances of them being unfairly deprived of those things that they have worked hard for and deserve, because they were cheated out of it by a boy who was not good enough to win them among other boys. And that is in addition the injuries and the invasion of safe spaces such as showers and locker rooms, that have resulted from boys dominating girls in girls’ competitive sports.
I hear you saying it happens often, which you might earnestly believe if your news source and politicians you follow keep telling you so. DOCUMENT that it exists to a large degree.
First, I’m glad you don’t deny that each time it happens, it’s an injustice – meaning it should *never* happen. So you shouldn’t shrug it off as supposedly not happening in a “wave.” Separately, I have heard it reported in the mainstream media many, many times over the past 10 years. Anyone listening to the MSM knows that, and any person – you included – can find many examples by using google searches. But I’ll give you a few examples anyway.
– Connecticut Track and Field (2017–2020): Two biologically male high school athletes, Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood, won multiple state championship titles in girls’ sprint events. This prompted a federal civil rights lawsuit filed by several female runners arguing that the wins deprived biological females of fair competition, honors, and advancement opportunities.
– University of Pennsylvania Swimming: Lia Thomas, a biological male who previously competed on the men’s swim team for three years (and was not a standout), won an NCAA Division I national title in the women’s 500-yard freestyle. The victory drew intense national debate and public protests from some teammates, competitors, and sports organizations regarding Thomas’s biological advantages.
– AB Hernandez, a biological male track and field athlete from Jurupa Valley High School, dominated the girls’ jumping events (including the high jump, triple jump, and long jump) at the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) postseason and state championship meet.
– Santa Rosa Junior College Volleyball experienced internal team conflict and protests regarding a male player on the women’s volleyball squad.
– The San Jose State University (SJSU) women’s volleyball controversy centered on a multi-year dispute regarding biologically male athlete participation. The issue drew national attention during the 2024 season when teammates and opposing schools raised safety, fairness, and privacy concerns regarding Blaire Fleming, leading multiple Mountain West Conference opponents to forfeit matches against SJSU.
– Payton McNabb, a high school student from Murphy, North Carolina, suffered a concussion and a traumatic brain injury in September 2022 when a volleyball spiked by a biologically male opponent on an opposing team struck her in the head during a match.
– High school softball in Minnesota: Biologically male pitcher. High school softball players filed a civil lawsuit against Minnesota state agencies and the state high school league, challenging the state policy allowing transgender athletes to compete on teams matching their gender identity.
You almost got to ten, but that’s more documentation than anyone else provided. There still is no evidence that even one person ever, changed their sex to do better in sports. There’s more documentation of people forcing their kids to be left-handed to improve their chances.
Jezzzzzzzz you lose fool.
Let you’re daughters try out against a male, and get back to us… Crying I bet.
My daughters/granddaughters wouldn’t be in the position of fighting for the last spot.
There still is no evidence that even one person ever, changed their sex to do better in sports.
First, some things speak for themselves – as the title of this blog reminds. William Thomas was a mediocre swimmer who never got near winning against other boys. Then he transitioned and won first place against girls.
Second, what does it matter? The girls who are cheated out of scholarships and an even playing field don’t care about the boy’s subjective motivations. It is still an injustice.
Third, you just read that a girl suffered a traumatic brain injury from a much stronger biological male spiking the ball into her head, and your only response is that there is no proof about his motivation for playing on the girls’ team? Your callousness and lack of basic human decency are astounding.
Fourth, you have not once yet denied that each such instance of deprivation is an injustice.
” Your callousness and lack of basic human decency are astounding.”
I’m following the model of the Supreme Court. Intent is the only thing that matters. Don’t bring me statistics or actual proof. You have to prove intent. If you think that’s crazy, take it up with John Roberts.
I’m following the model of the Supreme Court.
That’s the best you got? Trying to hide behind a supposed legal principle, in a different context, from some unnamed legal case – as if that’s what we’re talking about when we say it’s ridiculous for men to be competing in women’s competitive sports? You are truly a pathetic, failed human being. Just admit it is an injustice when girls lose out to pathetic loser males who can’t compete successfully against other males. Just admit it is an injustice when they lose scholarships and suffer traumatic brain injuries. You can’t even admit that, because you’re a pathetic, failure of a human being.
I’d be happy to name real legal cases. Shelby v. Holder, Louisiana v. Callais. Intent vs. proof is the whole basis to allow racial gerrymandering while saying they’re doing the opposite. I hope you agree that ignoring proof in lieu of proving intent is no way to run a railroad.
. . . ignoring proof in lieu of proving intent is no way to run a railroad.
So you’re saying you disagree with that standard, but then you use it as a basis to approve of men inflicting traumatic brain injury upon women in competitive sports, and depriving women of award, honors, and scholarships. You’ve just become unintelligible and hypocritical, in addition to callous and lacking in basic human decency.
I have 6 children, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, none of whom (to my knowledge) have ever had their lives affected because of black on black violent crime. It obviously is a real problem for blacks but hey! it doesn’t affect most of us so there you go
I suspect they have problems related to race which you may have contributed to.
You certainly seem to also
Is included in your citation that “. . . 150-200 transgender and gender-nonconforming people have been killed in the United States . . .” the transgender mass casualty shooters that were killed in the act by law enforcement before they could inflict further death and human misery?
EB
You are free to believe as you wish,
and as I said – keep govenrment completely out of it – not partly, but completely – and I really do not care.
You wanted to get into the legality of Sergers firing. Absent a violation of his employment contract – his firing should be legal.
Employment is not a right. You can be fired for any reason or no reason at all.
You can be fired for good reasons or bad ones.
You can be fired for being trans or not being trans.
And I as a consumer can chose to boycott your business for your hiring and firing decisions – or not.
With few exceptions I do not care the least about Trans issues. If you are an adult who believes you are born in the wrong body – I do not care.
If you choose to commit suicide – that is your business.
If you compete in women’s sports – I probably will not watch. While we all root for our team – sports dies if the outcomes are always certain.
“if even one transgender male or female commits suicide” – their choice. Kill yourself, don’t. Tired of everyone blaming others for all their problems.
Life is not fair. Get over it. No one owes you.
“Since 2020, at least around 150–200 transgender and gender‑nonconforming people have been killed in the United States, based on compiled advocacy and research reports.”
Do not care – the murder rate among those who identify as trans is 1/2 that of the regular population.
Regardless, murder is murder. I do not care why you commit violence on another – your going to jail.
I do not care if it is the color of your skin, your eyes, or the cloths you wear. Not relevant.
The job of the government is to prevent and to punish violence to anyone – not to sacred groups.
Do not care what a perpetrators motive was.
Justice is blind.
“The job of the government is to prevent and to punish violence to anyone – not to sacred groups”
Why are the J-6ers who were convicted by a jury of their peers, pardoned, had their convictions thrown out in many cases, and eligible for reparations, not currently from the slush fund but from the existing Treasury Department judgment fund?
“Why are the J-6ers who were convicted by a jury of their peers, pardoned, had their convictions thrown out in many cases, and eligible for reparations, not currently from the slush fund but from the existing Treasury Department judgment fund?”
Because the overwhelming majority of them were peaceful protesters not engaged in violence.
Actual violent left wing protestors have received repartations from the DOJ in the past.
One Kavanaugh protestor put an axe into a senators desk and DOJ dropped the charges and returned the axe.
I will be happy to see equal treatment for equal offenses.
Violent protesters at the WH in June 2020 received monetary compensation from DOJ.
But I am not interested in some idiotic claims that J6 was somehow worse than the average left wing “peaceful protest”.
No j6er brought a gun to the mall.
No j6er brought frozen water bottles to throw at police.
No j6er brought fireworks
No j6er brought lasers to blind the police.
No j6er brought tactical shields,
and on and on and on.
The j6ers came to protest. Contra the left there is ZERO evidence of planned violence.
The “gallows” that was over a mile away had a teddy dear in the noose with a sign that said “this is art”
and would have collapsed if you tried to hang a person. It was Speech not a weapon.
Left wing nuts are bringing guilotines now.
Thje violence on J6 did not start until the CP accidentally tear gassed themselves and then teqargassed the crowd.
Just to be clear – the CP tear gassed a lawful, peaceful non-violent assembly that was not trying to get into the Capital
That triggered the First violence.
Is it possible that given a fair trial that a handful of J6ers might have been convicted of actual crimes ?
Sure. But there were no fair trials. Further there was no rational means of sorting out the thousands of bad convictions from the half dozen or so people who were entitled to a fair trial but would likely have been convicted had they gotten one.
There was no reason for Trump to waste massive amounts of DOJ and FBI time sorting out the few people who should have been tried.
And even then there would be double jeopardy issues.
And finally – AGAIN the actual violence STARTED with the CP.
That is NOT the case with left wing protests.
The standards for criminal violent conduct are RADICALLY different when Law enforcement unequivocally starts the violence.
Let me repeat this AGAIN.
The J6ers did not start the violence – the CP did.
The CP did not teargas an unruly crowd engaged in an illegal assembly.
They teargassed a crowd that was there legally with permits that was not doing anything they were not allowed to do.
The CP was NOT responding to any provocation or engaged in any legitimate actions aside from denying the protesters entry – which at that time the protesters at the west tunnel entrance were not seeking. Nothing was out of control. No one was warned to stand back or get teargassed.
BTW this is all on video that was not made available to the public until MacCarthy became speaker.
Left wing nuts may be stupid – but ordinary people are not.
“Lonnie Coffman of Alabama: Police found multiple firearms and weapons in Coffman’s possession. Coffman’s truck, which he had parked in the vicinity of the Capitol on the morning of Jan. 6, was packed with weaponry including a handgun, a rifle and a shotgun, each loaded, according to court documents. In addition, the truck held hundreds of rounds of ammunition, several large-capacity ammunition feeding devices, a crossbow with bolts, machetes, camouflage smoke devices, a stun gun and 11 Molotov cocktails.
Court records and video surveillance footage show that Coffman, who had ties to militia groups, parked the vehicle near the Capitol at 9:15 a.m. that day. The documents say that after he got out of his pickup truck at 9:20 a.m., he joined a crowd of people who walked directly to the Capitol building.
He was detained later that evening as an unnamed woman was driving him back toward his truck. Police questioned Coffman and searched him, finding two more handguns on his person. None of the weapons were registered, documents state.
Guy Reffitt of Texas: Reffitt was charged with bringing a handgun onto Capitol grounds. Court documents showed that Reffitt, reported in court documents to be a member of the militia group Three Percenters, told his family he brought his gun with him and that he and others “stormed the Capitol.”
Christopher Michael Alberts of Maryland: Alberts brought his handgun onto Capitol grounds. An officer saw that Alberts had a gun on his hip and alerted fellow officers. When Alberts tried to flee, officers detained him and recovered the loaded handgun along with a separate magazine.
The total number of people who carried firearms with them that day may not ever be fully accounted for because the majority of those involved in the siege were not arrested on-site but were tracked down by law enforcement days, weeks and months later.
It’s also worth noting that the definition of “armed” is not legally limited to guns — it refers to any weapon used for defense or offense and used as a means of protection. Other items used as weapons Jan. 6 included bats, crutches, flagpoles, skateboards, fire extinguishers and chemical sprays.”
It’s not persecution, it’s protection of female athletes. If the left can get you to believe that biological men can play on girls/ women’s teams and join them in their locker rooms. They can get you to believe anything.
Because persecution and “protection” can’t coexist in the same universe. I’m curious how far your protection of women goes when it doesn’t involve tearing down someone else? Have you demanded the full release of the Epstein files including naming the men who trafficked the victims. Do you stand behind female reporters being called pigs and body shamed while trying to do their jobs? Have you questioned the firing or failure to promote female officers in the military?
EN
Get a grip. What why didn’t Biden release the Epstein files.
Don’t get a headache thinking about it.
Enigma, in this posting, I agree with everything you posted, as you posted it. I’m not tearing down anyone, however biological men should not be play on women’s sports teams. If I have to make a choice, that’s the choice. As far as Epstein goes to many people in high places are being protected. They will continue to be protected and congressmen and senators will continue to trade shares of stock with their knowledge of pending legislation that will affect markets. The beat goes on.
Here we go…..
Yawn…
That one word that shows you how stupid Dustoff is …. yawn….
So you think it’s OK to let a man beat up a women in a women’s game.
Figures.
Typical of the left.
they/those do like beating women because they believe “the best woman is a man”. and they aim to prove it. Never thought feminism would die like this.
Enigma, I’m sure it wasn’t that long ago when you put on your pink pussy hat and marched against Trump for women’s rights. Now your pink pussy hat remains on the shelf gathering dust.
I couldn’t care less what the trans do until they take away a woman’s chance to be successful in sports.
With you any line in any situation can be crossed. Discrimination that allows an advantage is wrong whether it’s discrimination against woman or black people. Some of the women replaced on a team by a transgender white man might be black women. Would you call out racism if that happened? Therein would be an enigma indeed. Cat got your tongue?
Thanks for being honest about being in favor of cheating in sports (boys/men competing against girls/women in sports is cheating), perversion (men in women’s locker rooms or bathrooms is perversion) and Far Left indoctrination centers (universities).
Thankfully, the vast majority of reasonable people disagree with those positions, and with your psychotic TDS.
Hope your parents are proud of their… well, whatever you are.
A CNN poll conducted in July 2026 found that 34% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning adults said they think of themselves as democratic socialists. .. Trump’s DoJ has all their names for future reference.
Tbh, I can’t tell you how many people playing in women’s sports are transgendered with their cloths on.
How many academics are transgendered?
*For all I know, Turley could be trans/furry too. .. writing under false pretenses.
Given the low approval for socialism among the public at large, adopting socialism does not seem to be a winning strategy for the Dems outside of deep-blue pockets in the major cities. But they’ll keep doing it because among Democrats, the approval is much higher, like around 70%. So a candidate who expresses views against it is likely to lose in the primary election. Among the public at large, approval for biological men in women’s competitive sports is even lower than socialism. Just ask Carmela, she knows a thing or two about that, haha.
*Carmela is for they/them, Trump is for you 🙂
Not sure Trump has a biological gender (his pronouns are androgynous/non-binary). He would mate with a rattlesnake, if you held its head.
Sweet baby Jesus was a socialist.
You have officially lost your mind.
“Just ask Carmela, she knows a thing or two about that, haha.
“*Carmela is for they/them, Trump is for you”
Too dumb even to know how to spell the lady’s name.
“Trump’s DoJ has all their names for future reference.”
Think about that!
Why should we think about an assertion that dgsnowden just made up and provided no evidence for?
After “Political Terrorism” Summit, U.S. Names 43 Americans + Groups .. .

Tinkerbell said, “When you believe in a thing, believe in it all the way, implicitly and unquestionable.”
and enigmainblackcom is just following tinkerbell’s advice as always.
OK.. Now bring up Biden DOJ.
Communism is illegal in the USA.
@enigma
You make your case as though the other 99% of the dem party are not the same clowns with the same ideas when the past 10 years (some would argue at least 20 or more, including me) prove otherwise. Nobody with two brain cells to rub together is fooled. We are just far enough along now that their proclivity for nepotism and their much more bratty, dumpster fire children are an even bigger problem that has been dumped on us without our consent, whether we like it or not. We do not have to accept this, and we won’t. 🤷🏻♂️
“We are just far enough along now that their proclivity for nepotism and their much more bratty, dumpster fire children are an even bigger problem that has been dumped on us without our consent, whether we like it or not. We do not have to accept this, and we won’t. 🤷🏻♂️”
I’ll give you a chance to read what you wrote again, in case you want to change this, especially the part about nepotism.

He was fired. All that matters. Those who hired him fired him.
Why does not matter.
You do not have a right to a job.
If you think he was fired for some bad reasons – you too are free to “fire” the entertainment company that fired him.
Regardless, While Turley’s comparison to Hollywood blacklisting in the 50’s and 60’s is apropriate – I do not want to here from people who are OK with Serger being fired that it was NOT OK from Hollywood to blacklist actors and writers.
If you do not want to be fired – start your own business. Nope that does not work either – your customers can fire you – and believe me they will.
IOt they have the least tiniest issue – they will just quit using your services – quietly without explanation.
And you will never know enough to cry foul.
Regardless, I do not care why Serger was fired – he was fired. Bosses and owners are free to do so.
Absent a contract provision that is violated – I will laugh his case out of court.
I do not care if he was fired because he was anti-trans or protrans. I do not care if there is a trend.
“One question, if anyone knows. What percentage of people playing in women’s sports are transgender?”
Completely irrelevant – if it is HS or college sports – then Title IX is an issue – and biological men are not allowed.
If you do not like that – do not take government funds. Or lets just get government ENTIRELY out of education.
If it is professional sports – that is up to the owners – and that means ultimately it is up to the fans.
I doubt that I would enjoy watching men in skirts beat the crap out of women in sports.
But who knows.
Regaredless keep govenrment out COMPLETELY and whatever will be will be.
”
He was fired. All that matters. Those who hired him fired him.
Why does not matter.”
Apply that same logic to the Supreme Court which relies solely on intent instead of actual proof when looking at the 14th and 15th Amendment violations and voter suppression cases.
@enigma
Dude (presumably, and possibly not even black, we have no way of knowing), you are a either a total troll, completely mentally captured, or just a contrarian. If you are what passes for a scholar these days – heaven help us. I cannot imagine the misery of your own thinking, existing entirely within the confines of your own mind, which you likely blame on someone else. You are a case study in, ‘An original thought would make their head explode’. You have proved this on the regular for years, here.
Well there’s a few things we DO know about em. you listed them accurately.
It matters if I’m making a mental note of who the crazy leftists’ are. I’m glad they outted themselves as inhuman monsters. Sending this one to archive .org for posterity and future-shaming.
If John Kennedy wasn’t assassinated, the Johnson Space center in Houston would have been the Kennedy Space Center outside of Boston. Also Johnson closed the Springfield Armory in 1968. Johnson hated the Kennedys.
Males and females are different. The W in WNBA stands for “Women’s,” which means it’s not for biological males. Biological males cannot possibly be women. That is a tautology. The difference between men and women is the whole reason the WNBA exists.
These statements are true, and a culture in which uttering them is controversial has become psychotic. Segers should not have apologized. It does not placate the mentally ill to apologize for the truth. Live not by lies.
Apparently you do not understand the meaning of the term”tautology”.
Apparently you are in rebellion against reality.
Remember the old saying, boys will be boys.
Now there’s a tautology.
Absolutely correct, that is indeed a tautology.
Unfortunately, oldmanfromkansas does not understand that term.
Hardly surprising, considering that his daily comments here display an extraordinarily low intellect.
So it seems you agree with the substance of the old man’s point, and your only quibble is with his use of the word “tautology,” right? Other than that, you’re in complete agreement.
Take anon’s silence as a yes.
I agree. He should not have apologized. Honestly I don’t see anything obnoxious about what he said. He was simply stating the truth.
Once again Turley is less than honest. The guy was fired for all of his bigot commits, not just the one about sports.
It is not being a bigot for pointing out the biological science of XX and XY. He is being fired for speaking the truth.
” the biological science”.. WTF is that? And what is the truth?
If you have no idea the difference between men & women…
There is no helping you.
Daddy thought mommy was gonna have ‘the talk’ but Mommy thought Daddy was gonna. and now poor johnny can’t read or procreate or anything!
“. . . Segers will now be effectively blacklisted . . .”
Segers is mixed black/native American. I gather from his ostracism that the Left now regards trans as the most oppressed/victimized group.
Sam,
Just goes to show, if you are not far enough left, they will come to cancel you.
The problem is that it’s hard to keep up.
