Big Tent, Small Space: Democratic Leaders Embrace the “Fine People” of the DSA as Radicals Call for Purges

Nothing says “Big Tent Party” like a good Communist pogrom.

Hasan Piker, a close ally of Abdul El-Sayed, is calling for “Marxist-Leninist” punishment for those who criticize Michigan’s Democratic senatorial candidate. As radicals and anti-Semites like Piker flood the Democratic Party, establishment figures are struggling to justify their alliance with extremist candidates.

Ironically, Democrats are now fulfilling the false narrative that they used against President Donald Trump after the Charlottesville protests. They are maintaining that there are “many fine people” in the DSA despite their seeking to destroy our constitutional system, open our borders, defund the police, and embrace virtual anarchy. Now, some of these fine people are calling for moderates to be purged as radicals take over the Democratic Party.

In 2017, the media manufactured a controversy by suggesting that Trump had praised neo-Nazis and Klansmen in 2017 as “fine people” in Charlottesville. It was demonstrably false, but became the accepted truth in the media. In reality, Trump condemned the neo-Nazis, and the statement about “fine people on both sides” was in reference to the people on both sides of the debate over the removal of historic statues.

That narrative took on an added hypocrisy when some of the loudest voices later endorsed a candidate with an actual Nazi tattoo who allegedly assaulted women, mocked wounded veterans, and praised terrorists. However, he promised to deliver Maine and bring figures like Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren back to power.

Anti-Semites and communists are not “fine” additions to any party. Hasan Piker is not a “fine person” in any universe. He has said that the United States deserved the terrorist attacks on 9-11 and prominently displays a picture of the collapsing Twin Towers. He has downplayed the murders and rapes of innocent Israelis on Oct. 7th and called one Jewish man who challenged him a “bloodthirsty, violent pig dog.”

Figures like Harris and Buttigieg brush off El-Sayed’s allies, including Mohammad Baqer Qazwini, a prominent Muslim cleric who gave a sermon that called for followers to vote for El-Sayed while also calling upon them to pray for the death of President Donald Trump and to celebrate the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Then there is the Democratic House candidate in New York, Darializa Avila Chevalier, a prison abolitionist who boasted how she wiped her hands on the American flag in lieu of a napkin.

Chevalier and other DSA candidates are being welcomed in the Democratic Party despite anti-American views and a DSA platform calling for the destruction of our constitutional system, including scrapping the Supreme Court, the presidency, and the Senate. Many are also overwhelmingly anti-Israel, with many, like Piker, displaying virulent anti-Semitism.

When asked about the extreme agenda of these candidates, Schumer and others repeat the mantra that they need to win in the upcoming elections. In other words, the DSA is opposed to the core institutions and values of this country, but it could be useful in returning them to power.

What is interesting is that the establishment does not appear to care what these radicals represent for their party, but the radicals care deeply about what the establishment represents. This week, former DNC Vice-chair David Hogg told establishment figures that the “Big Tent” of his party is not big enough for them. He and other moderates have to go. When asked about Democratic moderates, Hogg replied, “They don’t have the right values.”

Piker has even grander plans for our post-constitutional republic, calling for mass arrests, demanding pledges from establishment figures to “arrest and prosecute every prominent member of the Trump administration” who engaged in what he views as corruption as well as “every ICE agent who committed crimes on the job.”

Piker also wants to purge any Democrats who do not support El-Sayed, calling them “haters” who deserved to be punished:

“There are haters in our ranks. Notice how whenever someone comes out and says, ‘Yeah that’s actually a bad association,’ immediately it’s weaponized by the Republicans. You can’t be out here saying like, ‘Oh, I’m a centrist Democrat. And I think Abdul is a bridge too far.’ That must be punished.”

Piker, who likes to parade around in a Mao jacket, seems to be longing for the good old days of party purges under Stalin and his contemporaries in the Comintern.

He notably accused critics of the sin of “factionalism.” Since the Jacobins of the French Revolution, factionalism has been the scourge of revolutionaries. In my book, Rage and the Republic, I discuss the difference between the American and French Revolutions. Where James Madison saw factions as a natural part of a democratic system, the Jacobins sought them as a traitorous and reactionary element. Madison saw compromise as the best solution to factions, while the Jacobins saw the guillotine as the final solution.

Piker is right out of that Jacobin tradition, calling moderate Democrats “Koch payroll ‘liberals'” and “irredeemable.” (Notably, the Jacobins also pushed for some of the same DSA demands such as a unicameral legislature).

Of course, conservatives can show the same intolerance for RINOs (Republicans in Name Only), but there is an added menacing element to communists calling for mass expulsion or punishment of moderates from their party. It is chillingly familiar.

Mao regularly purged the Communist Party of those not following the party lines, declaring, “Serious offenders should be punished by law, and when they are Party members they should also be dealt with according to Party discipline.”

Establishment figures continue to use the “Big Tent” narratives to brush off questions about the radical agenda and associations of these candidates. The only thing that they have in common is the desire for power. Once these candidates win, figures like Schumer will discover that this tent is not nearly as big as they think.

  1. Open Secret:

The U.S. Constitution and America’s constitutional rule of law system benefits Democrats, Republicans, Independents and all Americans.

It protects women’s rights (about 50% of the entire U.S. population), protects gun rights, protects property rights, protects African-Americans and protects your right to be left alone by any government (of either party) if you follow constitutional laws.

The genius of Martin Luther King, Jr is he used this system to advance rights and freedoms for all Americans, MLK didn’t try to subvert the U.S. Constitution. J Edgar Hoover did subvert the U.S. Constitution and betray his Oath of Office.

Today we have divisive politicians, of both parties, running for office trying to destroy the constitutional rule of law system that protects and benefits their own supporters.

    1. We have billionaires hiring millionaires to convince the middle and lower class to become minions to the oligarchs.

Those billionaires have bought the politicians, mainly on the Republican side, to be divisive as conservatives will support party over policy, which aligns exactly with the goals of oligarchs.

  2. I, for one, am glad tha these terrorists who are hiding in plain sight amongs the American people are self-identifying as disloyual passengers on our bus who should be ejected as quickly as possibel through any suitable means availble to us. The American people should deny safe haven and livlihood to ohose who would do us harm & we should take them at their words.

  3. As I watch the Democrats self-immolate, and the inept Republicans also feud amongst themselves–producing lousy candidate after lousy candidate and NO significant accomplishments–I am reminded of an old quote by that very wise Founder, John Adams:

Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not
commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty.

John Adams Quotes, Letters to John Taylor, XVIII, p. 484

    (My bold emphasis.)

THIS is where we are headed: National Suicide

  4. Nice of the commies to take out the dumbocrats for us. Beating commies is what Republicans are best at.

  5. These positions of the DSA ARE REVOLTING to 99 % of America. And it’s the #1, msin reason the Democratic party is caving in. The democrats have lost vast numbers of moderate party members, and not to the Republican party, but to Independents. I was a hard-core democrat since I started voting at age 18. I was not involved in politics much but I knew Republicans favored the wealthy over the working man. Then in the 80s and 90s the Democratic patty changed. They became puppets of public employee unions and threw the working man right under that bus. They’re now so far out of touch with their base, working people, they are on another planet. Still an Independent. Never been a Republican and never will be one. But my views now align with the Republican platform far more than the insane Democratic party platform. I’m not an outlier from CA either, this is happening all across the Mid west and middle America.

      1. As a longtime MAGA reader, I look to Estovir’s puppets as a barometer of MAGA thought. Whether the puppet is Lin, Upstate Farmer or Steve Witherspoon, they all speak in unity and stay perfectly on script. That’s important when fighting communists. Whereas real commenters are less consistent.

        1. The thing is these tools you people are calling DSA are mouthing but lying muslHAMS IN DIM SUITS. KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY. YOU WILL EVENTUALLY NEED IT IF THESE MONSTERS ARE INSTALLED

        2. Aside from your false claim that republicans are perfectly consistent, what are you trying to say ?

Most so called MAGA posters here over varying viewpoints on issues. While they often reach similar results they do not arrive by the same routes.

The truth can often be proven many different ways.

Conversely – it is the posters on the left who show the most homogeneity of views.

Diversity of apearance is a core value of the left, Diversity of thought is practically forbidden.

          1. Republicans vote perfectly consistently. Put an R on a horse pile and they will pull the lever. It doesn’t matter what they believe because the party doesn’t care.

  6. Radical Ideas In News

The proposed “Arc de Trump” in Washington is less a monument than a gaudy construction the height of a skyscraper — a travesty that, if built, would dramatically change the landscape of the nation’s capital. This is probably why President Trump is so eager to get it made as fast as he can. It would be an unavoidable monument to a presidency and a man whom many Americans would rather not honor so conspicuously, if at all. He understands that once it is there, it will be hard to for anyone to make it go away.

    From Today’s New York Times
    ……………………………………..

Though losing the War On Iran, Trump is determined to build his ‘victory arch’, which would totally upset the symmetrics of neighboring landmarks; including the Lincoln Memorial.

What’s more, Trump wants to get this arch started as soon as possible in the hope it will be too big to fail by the time he leaves office. The calculus being his successor won’t have the guts to stop construction once this monster takes shape.

  7. THIS IS WAR!

This is an existential threat to the essence of America.

These communists are the enemy; they are engaged in subversion and insurrection.

They are the antithesis—the direct and mortal enemies of the American thesis of freedom and self-reliance, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, actual patriotic Americans, and America.

They must be summarily denaturalized, deported, and prosecuted for un-American activities, treason, and espionage.

    1. Sounds like the ghost of Senator Joe McCarthy is haunting this comment section. “Un-American activities”? “Treason”…etc. Aren’t you cute. Why not find something constructive to do rather than posting silliness?

      👻

      1. Thank you so much for your brilliant contribution, comrade Marx.

“Free stuff” and “free status” are exceedingly motivational rewards for leeching parasites, aren’t they?

You don’t suppose that, after 75 years of devastating and ruinous communism in America, they will “tear down this wall” also, do you?

        1. Where do all these ignorant murderous commies come from?
          ====
It’s pure hearsay and speculation, but they were secretly birthed by Nancy Pelosi in a clandestine pregnancy facility frequented by the leading democratic party members 😹😹😹

  8. The information architecture of our nation was subjected to reckless experimentation starting around 2007, with the rise of Facebook, Twitter and iPhone. The cohesion of public opinion began to fall apart, replaced by a new standard — “I’ll believe what I want to believe”. This was a stark departure from the late 20th century pattern of truth-seeking ending in consensus.

Soon, media alternatives sprang up pandering to audience fragmentation. Whatever you chose to believe, you could find channels that served up reinforcement and validation while studiously avoiding contradiction. Every oddball perversion / obsession suddenly had its own echo chamber, dangerously uniting the mentally unstable (who previously were isolated and voiceless).

The internet being designed as borderless, America opened up its mindshare to foreign manipulation, especially impressionable youth. This is the infospace in which radicalization of opinion becomes not just possible, but inevitable. What can we do to reverse this reckless experiment?

Repealing Section 230 will turn the tables on radicalization. It will inject a new level of responsibility on the large platforms and the smaller server hosts spewing out propaganda and depravities. We will revert to a more moderated style of free speech, where publishers are held responsible for that which is disseminated to the public. Because this will require publishers to know who is contributing content, their motives, their authenticity and their goodwill, our foreign enemies will find it suddenly difficult to opinion-shape within our borders.

The time to act is when Congress gets back from summer break — before losing the chance to get through this legislation.

      1. Actually, I was thinking of the closed chat rooms that radicalized Tyler Robinson, leading to Charlie Kirk’s assassination. If you could see into those chat rooms, where sickos boast about, and embolden others toward committing harms with impunity — you would witness utter depravity.

I have to remind people that, if 230 is repealed, it will be private lawsuits, and civil Juries of 12 average Americans deciding verdicts — not Hillary or other wicked bureaucrats.

I lived for 50 years through an America that had free speech without the current distortions. It worked much better. Yes, editors decided what was fit to publish, but nobody called that censorship — they called it editorial judgment. It was upholding norms and standards. Since “anyone can publish anything anonymously” circa 2007, the dialog has gone way downhill — and the nation’s problem-solving confidence with it.

        1. Private lawsuits can already happen, Section 230 or not. Section 230 protects against being prosecuted for laws against certain things.

What you ask for is for small providers to be flooded with legal actions to put them out of business, which will not work for overseas providers. You want those newspapers to go out of business because someone posts something otherwise illegal. Community bulletin boards, school websites, anything that allows members of the public to post their opinion would have to withdraw.

As to chat rooms radicalizing anyone – what made the guy who shot Charlie Kirk seek out such information? Were his conservative parents so bad at raising their children you need for 8 billion people to do the parent’s job?

  9. I’ve never heard of a Socialist or Communist leader that didn’t want to be a brutal dictator.
Remember Abdul El-Sayed keeping saying ‘the Peoples Democracy” just like the ‘Peoples Republic”.
Communist dictatorships operate under two names, Socialist Republic or People’ Republic.

    Socialist Republic of Vietnam
Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka
    Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
    Socialist Republic of Romania
    Socialist Republic of the Congo
    People’s Socialist Republic of Cuba
    United Soviet Socialist Republic
    People’s Socialist Republic of Albania

All are or were ruled by a communist Dictator. Socialism is not communism in theory, but is communism in practice.
Anyone thinking it is not is only fooling themselves and will rue the day they gain power.

The countries with “People’s Republic” in their official names include:

    People’s Republic of China
    People’s Republic of Bangladesh
    People’s Republic of Algeria
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea)
These countries are also all communist.

    1. Can you imagine Cuba with a free market business model??? The wealth from tourism alone would be insane. Cuba has unparalleled medical care, can you imagine the wealth that could be created if they decided to put a focus on elective surgery, similar to what Turkey has done with hair transplantation surgery???? Wealth could be generated in Cuba almost by osmosis, without even hardly trying….the wealth that Cuba could unleash with a free market is off the charts….

      1. That’s what the original revolution was about. Catering to a few wealthy Americans and letting the rest of the people starve.

Lots of money, just none for the bottom 50-70%.

    2. “It’s ok if you slam their head into the car roof before you put them in.”

said Trump police brutality that he expects them to do as part of their job.

  10. Today’s Quiz:
    Who said:

“Press still hot and heavy about me.”
“My national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable.”
“It is not an exaggeration to say that today I am the most famous and talked-about person in the country and one of the most recognizable people in the world,”

    A. Dr. Anthony Fauci
    B. Hasan Piker
    C. Both of the above
    D. Neither
    G. Abdul El-Sayad
(To improve passing grades, Option H: John Lennon (who was more popular than Jesus) is removed from the Quiz.)

  11. Notice how the Democrat party has no problem allowing another party with different and radical ideas to join their primaries

    1. Same thing happened to Republicans when the Koch Brothers took over. Then the Koch Brothers lost it to the Tea Party which morphed into MAGA.

      1. MAGA is common sense ideas, noting radical. You can find Clinton and Obama espousing the same policies on videos before the radical left took over. JFK would be a right of today’s Republican party today.

Bill Clinton on Illegal Immigration at 1995 State of the Union
        https://youtu.be/1IrDrBs13oA

Obama was the Deporter in Chief and deported over 3 million illegal aliens!
        https://youtu.be/mp0iByGths8

The Republicans didn’t move right, the Democrat lurched left and left and left and left again into communism.

      2. The Koch Brothers had nothing to do with the Tea Party movement, which was birthed by Ross Perot. Perot’s common sense fiscal approach to government, and especially fixing the crazy debt we had rung up, is what started the Tea Party movement. Perot, an Independent and before he dropped out, led CA, the biggest state in the union, 45 to Clinton’s 32 to GHW Bush’s 19. Perot would have easily won CA and the Presidency had he not flaked out…..

  12. OT!! We are being food gouged. It’s now down to 8 oz on crackers!! 10 dollars for 8 ounces and up. Want matzo crackers? 64 dollars. This is walmart!!!

    Learn to make crackers

    1. Ditch the net, it’s left.

I find it coincidental that Christ spoke of the net. Pitch your net left or right?

  13. Come On Man – the Blue Hairs, Nose-Rings, Woodstock Hippies, Full Sleeve leg and arm Tattoo bunch, and YES, the Rainbow Coalition finally have candidates that will carry their voice in Congress. Never mind that these same “DSA (aka Communists) candidates would join any crowd in Gaza, Lebanon, or Iran in executing these Infidel Filth (the Islamists words for these groups). But hey, even these Low IQ voters get a ‘vote’ in America – for now (until the real communists take over)!

  14. The suggestion that James Carville should think about forming his own party rather than staying in the very one he has been active in for years just shows how ludicrous the “big tent” moniker is.

    1. “…Carville …”

The only reason that despicable, unprincipled jerk has any problem with DSA is that he doesn’t believe they can win elections. Should they prove him wrong in 2026, he will leap onto their wagon in less than a heartbeat.

  15. This election will see “Spanberging” on a large scale. And I encourage the media to make daily references to getting “Spanbergerd”.

  16. The DSA is a natural result when you have a uniparty system doing the bidding of a foreign government , israel, to the detriment of the welfare of American citizens.

    1. Israel? Who says “death to America” and “we will build nuclear weapons?” Trump has failed. Trump has failed to go into Iran and rip out the psychotic theocracy and the IRGC and return the nation to the Great Persian People.

  17. Since 2008, the modern political left has shown us with their words and actions that they are morally bankrupt and they hate the United States of America. The political left, (sociommunists (sō sē äm yə nists), appears to be obsessively focused on the complete destruction of the political right and the USA a we know it and seating themselves as a permanent totalitarian regime even if it completely destroys the United States of America that they despise. These people are enemies of thee USA.

  18. The most appalling fact about this piece is how desensitized we have become to cheers and prayers for violence and death to others. You report it as common facts. We read it as common events. All this is unsustainable. I’m reminded of the maxim, “What methods used to achieve power are the same methods used to sustain power.”
