I recently wrote about Hasan Piker leading a hatefest in San Francisco with thousands mocking the death of Charlie Kirk. He is now being condemned for a livestream statement suggesting that American Jews are asking to be attacked if they continue to support Israel.
On the Aug. 20 livestream, Mr. Piker declared:
“If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action, not against the state of Israel — mind you — but against American Jews.”
The veiled threat was just the latest shocking statement from Piker, who has said that America deserved 9-11 and displays a picture of the attack on his wall during podcasts.
As I previously noted, Piker and other hate traffickers like Jennifer Welch (who even justified Kirk‘s assassination) have commodified rage to make fortunes from their program. They inject hate directly into the veins of rage addicts.
The result is predictable. In feeding a rage addiction, figures like Piker give a license to those who want to engage in violence. A certain percentage of the population is waiting for such triggers, seeking to assassinate figures like Kirk or Supreme Court justices.
This same conditioning toward violence has appeared on other sites.
Members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) were on another site suggesting that the country was now ripe for a violent takeover. DSA activist and streamer Michael Beyer is shown during a panel discussion declaring:
“The Democratic Party establishment that we have has to be ripped out…We can actually start to grab hold of the ship of state and steer it our direction, but it’s going to be a violent process.”
As with calls to trash the Constitution or abandon core institutions, these figures are normalizing radical actions. In the meantime, establishment figures like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are desperately trying to marshal the power of this mob in the hope that they will return him to power.
When confronted with the calls of the DSA to get rid of our constitutional institutions, Schumer recently shrugged and said, “Not everyone has the same view on every single issue.” Those small disagreements not only include antisemitic rhetoric but also calls to eliminate the very institution Schumer hopes to lead again.
The DSA is not being subtle. The DSA Steering Committee member Cliff Connolly declared on one podcast that they are “famous for” “Our hatred of the United States Constitution.”
From Piker to the DSA, establishment figures continue to delude themselves that they can control the mob, which will turn on their enemies while sparing themselves. History does not work that way.
Leave it to Turley to make false characterizations.
Hasan Piker did not issue a “veiled threat”. Surely professor Turley, a ‘distinguished’ attorney would know the difference.
Piker framed his remark as a warning regarding the rise of anti-Semitism and the increasing arrogance of the Israeli position that is becoming more and more indefensible.
Turley’s characterization is highly hypocritical when you compare it to those expressing support for Palestinians.
The core of the hypocrisy lies in selective literalism. Turley takes a descriptive sociological warning from an independent leftist streamer, strips it of context, and labels it a “veiled threat.” Yet, when pro-Palestinian students, professors, and activists make descriptive warnings about Gaza or use common political slogans, they are routinely subjected to the exact type of censorship, deplatforming, and state crackdowns that Turley claims to oppose.
Piker was making a descriptive warning: he argued that if public figures conflate the actions of the Israeli government with the identity of all American Jews, it creates a dangerous environment where antisemitic bad actors might target Jewish citizens. It was a warning against a bad outcome.
This is exactly the same rhetorical trap used to silence pro-Palestinian advocates. When activists warn that unconditional U.S. military aid to Israel will inevitably result in a domestic backlash, higher regional instability, or targeted protests, their warnings are routinely reframed by critics as “threats of violence” or “support for terrorism.” Turley actively participates in this exact mischaracterization by transforming a prediction of violence into an intent to commit violence.
He aggressively defends the right of right-wing figures to use highly inflammatory rhetoric under the guise of the First Amendment, yet when a leftist commentator offers a grim sociological warning about the rise of antisemitism, Turley suddenly loses his ability to understand nuance and rebrands it a ‘veiled threat.’ If Turley were truly concerned about ‘mobs’ and ‘commodified rage,’ he would look at the systemic doxxing, blacklisting, and administrative silencing currently aimed at pro-Palestinian students and faculty across the country. Instead, he selectively polices the language of the left to feed the exact audience of ‘rage addicts’ he claims to despise. This is why Turley is often labeled a hypocrite. Because it fits.

Apparently Hasan Piker is unaware of the fact that the “Hamas Covenant 1988” explicitly says that Allah wants Muslims to kill every Jew in the world. (It can be found on the website of Yale Law School.) Apparently he also is unaware of the fact that countless people long have obeyed it and advocated it. Only God knows why Hasan Piker thinks killing Jews is something that might happen “eventually”.
If you believe the 1988 Hamas Covenant represents a permanent, unchanging reality for all Palestinians, then you must apply that exact same logic to the Israeli far-right.
Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s published ‘Decisive Plan’ explicitly demands that Palestinians either accept permanent subjugation or leave the land. Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir openly campaigns on the forced ’emigration’ of millions of people, and the foundational 1977 Likud Charter explicitly states that ‘between the sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty,’ denying any Palestinian right to exist.
If you are going to cite historical texts to prove one side wants to eliminate the other, don’t ignore the ruling far-right coalition in Israel that openly brags about doing the exact same thing to Palestinians. Extreme, eliminationist rhetoric exists on both sides of this conflict—selective outrage won’t change that.
Citing Hamas and ignoring the Israeli extremists who ARE in power and advocate for the complete elimination of all Palestinians is classic hypocrisy and the reason why so many are now viewing Israel negatively. They are acting the same way German Nazis once did in the 1930’s and 40’s.
The Hamas Charter has been the official governmental policy of Hamas for 28 years. The policies espoused by Smotrich and Ben-Gvir have never been the official policy of Israel, so your analogy fails. So does your anti-Semitic accusation that Israel is acting like Nazi Germany. The Jews of Europe never perpetrated a genocide against anyone, never shot 50,000 rockets at European civilians, never built 500 miles of terror tunnels under Berlin, never launched explosive balloons disguised as gifts to kill German kids, and never paid lifetime stipends to the families of suicide bombers.
This is so blindingly obvious, I have to ask: “What the heck is wrong with you?”
Israeli sovereignty over territory does not deprive an individual of the right to exist. The Armenian Genocide, the European Shoah, the Rwanda Genocide did. The policies of the Israeli government have been far more beneficial to Israeli Arabs, i.e, Palestinians living in Israel, or commuting from Gaza, if you will, than anything offered them by their own.
I am of the opinion that he has that covenant memorized chapter and verse. It’s been sitting in my bookmarks for easy reference for years now.
