There is an intriguing story out of Brazil where Joao Arajuo, 57, a plastic surgeon known as “Dr. Frankenstein,” resurfaced after cutting an ankle monitor and fleeing the United States. The infamous plastic surgeon mocked the police and recounted how easy it was to flee the country. However, in detailing his escape, he implicated Brazilian diplomats in actively assisting the flight, making them accessories after the fact.
Araujo was awaiting trial for a variety of crimes linked to cosmetic surgeries, including procedures that were botched and left patients disfigured. These treatments included liposuction, fillers and laser treatments.
The 14 counts included felonies for grand theft, practicing medicine without a license, and fraud.
However, Araujo decided not to wait for a trial: “When I decided to leave, I simply cut off the electronic ankle bracelet. I took [Interstate] 95. I took a boat owned by an acquaintance and went to [the island of] Bimini [in the Bahamas], [then to] Nassau, Panama, Rio de Janeiro.”
He offered details that could be used to identify any collaborators: “I left at 4:30 a.m. I arrived in [the island of] Bimini [in the Bahamas] early. From Bimini, I took a plane at 230 p.m. I arrived in Nassau 40 minutes later. Because the flight was fully booked to Panama, I had to spend the night” before going “from Panama to Rio de Janeiro.”
So Araujo had his friend sail him to the Bahamas and then flew to Rio. He celebrated by mocking the police. However, he implicated Brazilian diplomats in making the escape:
“Any idiot knows how to leave the United States. I had all the support of the Brazilian consulate … They are all my friends. Both the Brazilian federal police and the Brazilian embassy gave me all the support in Miami.”
The direct assistance of diplomats in the flight of a fugitive would be a serious breach of diplomatic status. For any diplomat, this would be the knowing commission of a criminal act as an accessory after the fact.
While diplomats have immunity, they could be declared persona non grata under Article 9 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Araujo was required to surrender his only known passport from Brazil. That means he somehow obtained a new one. It is unclear whether the passport was fake or whether his “friends” took the extraordinary step of issuing him a new passport to facilitate his flight.
While he did not name his “friends,” he noted in a prior interview that “the consul in Miami is my friend” and used the first names of both the current general consul and his recently departed predecessor. The acting consul general in Miami, Andre Odenbreit Carvalho left in May. He also referenced Marcelo Ivo, the Brazilian Federal Police Liaison for the Consulate in Miami.
Notably, according to Steven Nelson at the New York Post, the US government in April asked Ivo to leave his post “in a reciprocal action after Brasilia booted an unnamed American official in apparent retaliation for US immigration officials briefly detaining a former Brazilian congressman.”
Tensions between the countries are already high under leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The Trump Administration previously canceled the visa of the Brazilian ambassador, Maria Luiza Ribeiro Viotti.
The administration has also hit Brazil with massive tariffs in a trade war.
While Araujo expressed a desire to live in Europe, the United States will likely seek an Interpol warrant that would expose him to arrest. The Brazilian Constitution bars the extradition of its citizens. However, even if Brazil does not extradite him, he will have trouble traveling. Even those “idiots” that he attacked could track and arrest him in international transit.

A Guide To Estovir’s Puppets
For more than 7 years, a commenter first known as ‘Estovir’ has been a constant presence on these threads.
During his first year, Estovir used only the name ‘Estovir’ while inserting himself into virtually every debate between commenters. And one should note that back then, 15-20 real commenters were very active on this forum; most of whom were conservatives.
But Estovir wasn’t getting the respect he felt he deserved. Because even the conservatives didn’t appreciate Estovir’s insistence on being in the middle of every discussion.
Then, during the week of Easter in 2020, Estovir decided to take full control of this forum. It was then that Estovir launched his first brigade of puppet commenters. At least 4 of those puppets are still used every day. One might call them Estovir’s ‘legacy puppets’.
Over time, Estovir has created a second group of puppets that have become so well-known that we shall refer to them as ‘well-established puppets’.
There is also a category we could label ‘reoccurring puppets’. These are puppets who pop in perhaps 2 or 3 times per week. They presumably resemble commenters who might be too busy to comment more often but want to ‘stay involved’.
Estovir is generating new puppets every day. Many of these are only ‘One Day Puppets’. Yet the idea is to keep multiplying the total number puppets. It’s like a cockroach infestation; once the numbers reach a certain level, wiping them all out is nearly impossible.
The constant presence of these puppets has totally warped this forum. Most of the real commenters moved on long ago. Consequently, there are shockingly few real people coming here anymore.
This forum is basically an echo chamber where Estovir’s puppets talk to each other all day. Compliments like ‘well said’ have become staples of this puppet show. Estovir also has the ability to ‘like’ puppet comments. And we’re seeing more likes than ever lately!

I have mentioned in the past about a monthly pay to comment with all monies going to a educational fund for a socio-economic challenged high school senior to use for education be it college, trade school or something like a computer boot camp. Students could enter a competition of a five to ten page essay on the Constitution, Bill of Rights (or just one of them), a recent SC ruling, one of the Framers or something like that.
If the fund is large enough, maybe the top three essays get awarded.
The good professor of course being the one who judges the essays.
Maybe a permanent link with announcement and due dates at the top of the blog.
We pay to comment, but our individual handles are kept with our avatar. And no annonys.
I know I would pay if it was going to a good cause and get rid of the annony.

Quite a racket the modern left has had going, for a very long time, right under our noses, and with tendrils so deep and so corrupt it would probably be impossible to expose them all.
It’s a global regime, and I am not the least bit surprised. I am at the point where I actually wish I were; it’d be a nice change. We can still tend to our own garden, regardless. Never voting dem again as long as I live (I used to, and sorry kids my and those like me’s time is measured in decades, not years), and I will screen for wolves in sheep’s clothing with their fake candidates in other party affiliations.
It would be so easy if they would simply cease being evil and insane, but c’est la vie. That ship has sailed.

I keep wondering if the purpose of some of the trolls comments are to make this informative site seem like trash. While I support free speech, it is getting harder and harder to scroll past the abusive trolls since they have started to use other peoples identity. It seems as though it would behove WordPress to try and limit the identities of people to one name based on email verification and screen identity. If they can, which I believe is possible, then even if you have multiple email addresses the screen name would be unique.
Perhaps the administrator, Darren?, could approach WordPress with this issue so the site can continue to provide intelligent conversations and not descend into anarchy?
