Post-Platner Democrats Must Ask: ‘Are We the baddies?’

Below is my column in The Hill on the Democratic establishment and media rallying around Graham Platner. As Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has repeatedly stressed, Platner is needed for them to retake power. The allegations of domestic abuse, the Nazi tattoo, and other controversies are secondary to that single overwhelming goal. The question is, when they take power by any means necessary, what will they be other than the majority?

Here is the column: Continue reading “Post-Platner Democrats Must Ask: ‘Are We the baddies?’”

“Not Like Classic Abuse Allegations”: NYT Writer Tries a Classic Coke Pitch for Platner

Some people just like classic Coke. Others insisted on the original Reese’s recipe.  New York Times writer Jodi Kantor went on CNN to explain why Democrats can vote for Maine senatorial candidate Graham Platner despite multiple women coming forward to denounce him: this is really not the classic Me Too allegations that Kantor and others seem to prefer for outrage. On the Kavanaugh Anniversary, Democratic Leaders Swap “Me Too” for Maine

Below is my column in The Hill on the Graham Platner controversy on the eighth anniversary of the Kavanaugh nomination. It now appears that there are some women who are not to be believed . . . when the Senate may be in the balance.

A “View from the East Wing”: Jill Biden’s Fantasy Book Tour

Below is my column in the New York Post on the latest claims of former First Lady Jill Biden on her book tour. Today, “View from the East Wing” will be released after a rocky pre-release tour. Her interviews certainly produced buzz, but not necessarily the type that she was seeking. Her claims on the pardon of Hunter Biden are part of an effort to rewrite history that borders on utter fantasy. It appears that the former First Lady would like to be known as both a fiction and nonfiction author.

The Red Apple: Mamdani Announces Possible Transfer of Housing to Tenants

Below is my column in The Hill on the new housing plan of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to seize the properties of the “worst landlords” and hand them over to tenants or tenant groups. It is a plan that is hardly unexpected given the socialist agenda of the Administration. However, it promises to replicate the failures of socialist systems of the past.

Let Them Eat Impeachments: Dan Goldman Fights to Keep the Rage — and His Career — Alive

Below is my column on Rep. Dan Goldman struggling to overcome a challenge from Mamdani-backed Brad Lander. Goldman is sticking to his impeachment-heavy campaign pitch as Lander pushes bread-and-butter issues. He is reportedly over 20 points behind the popular housing advocate.

This is a ‘Jackie Robinson moment,’ but not the one Hakeem Jeffries thinks it is

Below is my column in The Hill on the calls for a boycott of SEC schools by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries over the Supreme Court banning racial gerrymandering under the Voting Rights Act. The use of such sports legends as Jackie Robinson to fight for a form of racial discrimination shows how politics can outstrip our principles.

“He was right then. He is right now”: Hakeem Jeffries’ Brother Calls on Citizens to Emulate John Brown

This week, Hasan Kwame Jeffries, an Ohio State University history professor and the brother of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, joined the mantra of many on the left for citizens to rise up and fight the system “by any means necessary.” However, Jeffries added a menacing element in calling for citizens to emulate John Brown, who murdered white farmers who supported slavery.  He is not the first academic to use Brown as a model for political action today. A Comey Cake? Former Prosecutor Accused of Stealing Smith Report Files and Hiding Them as Cake Recipes

Former Justice Department prosecutor Carmen Mercedes Lineberger has been indicted for allegedly removing confidential Justice Department material and then concealing her efforts. Lineberger is accused of secretly transferring Jack Smith’s final report and hiding the material under files labeled “chocolate cake recipe” and “bundt cake recipe.” There has not been a greater recipe for disaster since aides tried to fit all of Biden’s candles on a cake. Harri-esy: Why “No Bad Ideas” is a Uniquely Bad Idea

Below is my column in The Hill on Kamala Harris and her “bad ideas” podcast. Harris was previously said to favor packing the Supreme Court, but the podcast appears to be part of the effort of many in the Democratic Party to condition voters to an emerging radical agenda on the left.

Defamation, She Wrote: Israel Moves to Sue the “Gray Lady” Over Kristof Column

Below is a longer version of my column in the New York Post on the announced plan of Israel to sue the New York Times. The country faces some difficult challenges under tort law. However, the strategy may be in large part an effort to secure discovery (and a public forum) more than a verdict.

Socialist Storytime: AOC Spins Anti-Capitalist Fable About the Founders

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is fast becoming the greatest fabulist since Aesop.

Recently, Ocasio-Cortez insisted that true billionaires are a capitalist myth since “you can’t earn a billion dollars.” However, her greatest work of fiction may be her insistence that the Framers fought against billionaires and would have joined her and other socialists in seeking to eradicate them today. “You Just Can’t Earn a Billion Dollars”: AOC Declares Billionaires to be a Capitalist Myth

Below is my column in The Hill on the statement of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that true billionaires do not exist because “you just can’t earn” a billion dollars. Figures such as Jeff Bezos are merely capitalist unicorns according to this new socialism mythology. The problem is that she, and other socialists and Democrats, are fast making this fable come true.

Sack and Pack: Law Professor Suggests Extreme Method to Save Virginia Redistricting

After the Virginia Supreme Court rejected the results of the recent Democratic effort to effectively wipe out Republican representation in the state, Democratic pundits and activists have latched onto a proposal by Michigan State Law Professor Quinn Yeargain to gut the court by forcing the retirement of the current justices, appointing liberal activists, and then reversing the opinion. It is extremely telling that some are pushing the raw muscle play to retake power in Washington, particularly in light of the calls to pack the United States Supreme Court once the party is back in control. The Gerrymander Debacle in Virginia Leaves the Democratic Party with a Dangerous Agenda

Below is my column in the New York Post on the decision of the Virginia Supreme Court to nullify the result of the recent gerrymandering to eliminate virtually all Republican representatives in the purple state. The reversal of fortunes for the party, however, could lead to an even more dangerous agenda.

Here is the column:
