We have another accused Facebook felon. Elizabeth Carlisle, 20, is a Petland employee in Akron, Ohio who decided to drown two injured rabbits at the store and then show the pictures on her Facebook page while smiling. She has been charged with animal cruelty.
What is interesting is that the caption on the photo credits the store manager as the photographer but no charges have been brought against the manager. According to PETA, the caption read: “[T]he manager took the pic for me. [S]he reminded me that there were people outside as [I] was swearing at them to just hurry up and die but then she was so kind as to take this picture.”
New reports include sources who allege that drowning animals was a common practice when they are injured at the store.
Petland has pulled the franchise of the store, which has been closed by public authorities.

I don’t think that any animal should suffer as a result of human hands. I have never eaten rabbit (figure the Hare) tastes bad.
Many people do eat the Hare, I don’t. That the tail of the dog that bit you. That is a totally different story.
Killing a rabbit to eat it is far, far different than this, AY.
Both Elizabeth Carlisle and the Manager needs to be incarcerated and charged for animal cruelty and killing, the Manager is an accessory to this and I want her name to be exposed just as the owner Steve Winslow who is the owner of this Sociopathic employee ridden store. The Manager and Elizabeth need to be in prison for the maximum allowed by law and never be allowed to work with animals or even own one for the rest of their lives. I hope they dream of the suffering they created for these poor innocent animals. No animal, no child should ever have to be treated in this manner ever and there needs to be stricter laws as Elizabeth and her Manager are the future Child Abusers that will be free too soon!
I agree with Jan, they both should go to jail and this behavior should be a felony. Petlands should be shut down all together. A trip to any local Humane Society will show why. People pay obscene amounts of money on the pets from puppy mills where they can get them cheap and make more profit. It needs to end.
why not try to fix them or just take them to the vet to be euthanised humanely?

These people should be evaluated and treated by psychiatrists and not allowed to work with animals, children, the disabled or the elderly.
The rabbits were sick anyway. I grew up on a farm & when animals were too sick to recover, I shot them!!! So what!! YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS!!

Shooting is fine on the farm. Drowning isn’t fine anywhere. It’s not the killing the sick/injured animals at issue, it’s the method.
