Just Keep Saying “There’s No Place Like Home, There’s No Place . . . “

This video of a tornado in Oklahoma is pretty remarkable.

The only thing missing is Margaret Hamilton on her bicycle. By the way, you can compare this video to the scene that was originally meant for the Wizard of Oz (but deleted later) . . .

    1) That’s just way too close for my liking.

    2) I can see why the scene was cut. It’s too dark and the end effect looks more like a sandstorm as the detail of the funnel is lost.

In this age of YouTube videos, I kept waiting for the funnel to turn toward the car for Mr Toad’s Wild Ride. Any idea what those flashes were? Perhaps they were lightning strikes, but they seemed quite low to the ground. Maybe power line connections?

And to think that it headed to Northeast Louisiana.

Those flashes were power flashes as the wind hit the power lines. It eventually knocked the poles over.

No way would I sit in my vehicle and watch a tornado come that close to me!
