There is an amazing (and startling) statistic out of Iraq and Afghanistan: the United States has fired an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed. The U.S. is going through so much ammo that manufacturers are struggling to keep up. In another milestone, U.S. troops in Afghanistan now surpass the number in Iraq.
The U.S. military are now importing ammo from Israel to keep up the rate of fire.
US forces have fired so many bullets in Iraq and Afghanistan – an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed – that American ammunition-makers cannot keep up with demand.
The General Accounting Office (GAO) reports that our forces are now using 1.8 billion rounds of small-arms ammunition a year — a level of use that has more than doubled in five years. The report states:
“The Department of Defense’s increased requirements for small- and medium-calibre ammunitions have largely been driven by increased weapons training requirements, dictated by the army’s transformation to a more self-sustaining and lethal force – which was accelerated after the attacks of 11 September, 2001 – and by the deployment of forces to conduct recent US military actions in Afghanistan and Iraq.”

I spoke to a young officer in the military mid 2013 who told me he was part of operation golden eagle. They were ordered to incinerate ammo by the pallet. This operation went on for weeks. I don’t think anyone has all the facts except those in question. And you should never trust them to tell you the truth.
People arguing over which puppet belonging to one wing or the other of the same corrupt criminal bird is a perfect example of the success of the re-education of America over the past 80+ years. Communism, Socialism, Marxism, Fascism are all the same and were created, funded, promoted by the so called ruling families and their Banking Cartel. These ism’s consolidate authority over the economy and regulations into the hands of the few(centralized governmental bureaucracies) which these men and women behind the curtain of power and influence use to selectively enforce and eliminate competition furthering their monopolies.

First of all the GAO has no way of knowing how many rounds of small arms ammo has been used. There is no inventory process used to calculate this. More likely what the 1.8 billion rounds statement accounts for is the number of rounds contracted for purchase. That the GAO would know about. I can tell you one thing though. Not only is the government buying a lot of ammo and I am not talking about the military. I am referring to all government agencies including the military. The ridculous quantities of .40 cal hollow point being purchased by the DHS and SSA maybe one of the reasons. There is such demand for popular ammo 5.56, 7.62, 9mm, .45 that the production waiting list must be very long. So, what the government does is purchase a bunch of .40 cal pistols and then .40 cal ammo that is not in high demand. Don’t you just love it. Also popular ammo sales are through the roof now that Obummer has been reelected.
What you seem unable to grasp is the fact that the US is really a One Party State which has 2 factions that bicker over the best ways to transfer wealth from the bottom to the top.
The proof is that whenever it comes to wildly unpopular things the people don’t want, namely, Wars, NAFTA & Bank Bailouts, there is always bi-partisan support that rams it through.
