Justice Delayed: Exxon Still Fighting Damages for Exxon Valdez Spill

Exxon Corporation is still fighting damages for fishermen and others harmed by its infamous oil spill from the Exxon Valdez in 1989. The plaintiffs have filed with the Supreme Court to restore the full $5 billion punitive fine against Exxon Mobil while Exxon is seeking to overturn the $2.5 billion punitive fine assessed by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Given the record profits of Exxon, it is a fight that irks many who view these companies are raking in windfall profits while fighting efforts to force compensation for environmental damage.

  1. So I hope we learned our lesson about these *sshole maneuvers…..and are prepared to prevent similiar garbage from BP????
