There are a host of diseases and illnesses that are expected to rise with the global temperatures. One of the most deadly is an illness caused by an ameoba called Naegleria fowleri. Six children have died from the amoeba which enters the body through the nasal cavity and eats away at the brain. All of the victims contracted the amoeba while swimming in warm shallow waters of a lake. Michael Beach (yes, his name is Beach), a specialist in recreational water-born illnesses for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, linked a sharp increase to warming temperatures particularly in the South. He said that people become infected when they wade through shallow water and stir up the bottom.
