A U.S. Marine had a curious way to show Iraqis that we are not crusaders in the country to claim their country for Jesus: he passed out Christian coins at a checkpoint. Iraqis complained and the Marine has been pulled for duty in Falluja.
Falluja has seen some of the most intense insurgent activity in past years, though it has improved greatly according to various reports.
One of the coins is stamped with the words “Where will you spend eternity?” and on the other side it quotes John 3:16 that reads, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Given the on-going strife over the use of the Quran by one of our snipers from target practice, this would not be an opportune time or place for our personnel to spread the word of Christian salvation, click here.
However, the Marine could get a deal on a Ford at Kieffe and Sons, here.

Q: How many American lives have been lost, and dollars wasted, due to this type of activity?
A: All of them and all of it.
To be in uniform and do this? How many American lives have been lost, and dollars wasted, due to this type of activity?
Little Hawk:
Wonder why most of the Sunni and Shia view us as crusaders*? Poor, ignorant, overreacting, third-worlders, they know not of what they speak. Onward Christian soldiers into your presumptuous fight!
*We’ll just forget that Bush used the word “crusade” in his speech just after 9-11: “this crusade, this war on terrorism, is going to take awhile.”
John,
This has been going on in Iraq for years. In fact, in 2005 a fellow worker informed me that his church was asking for donated bibles so that their active church members who were also National Guardsmen and about to be deployed to Iraq could distribute them to the non-believers and spread the Word of Christ. I firmly believe that this reported incident is just the tip of the iceberg. The problem with our society is that for the past 400 years or so, we do not want to understand nor do we respect the differences of other cultures.
