Former Fox anchor and White House spokesman Tony Snow has died. Tony was a friend too many and I was privileged to be among them. Despite our differences of opinion and politics, Tony was a wonderfully person — always engaging and funny. He was truly a wonderful person and will be missed. He was 53.
Tony has been struggling with cancer for years –eventually leaving his post at the White House when the cancer returned. Click here. His dignity and courage in the face of his illness inspired millions.
He did not have a mean bone in his body. He was originally a liberal and even supported McGovern, but became a conservative in the 1970s. Despite the heated politics of the period, Tony was always an affable and respectful person.
He was completely committed to his wife, Jill, and three young children. Indeed, we used to joke about the perils of fatherhood when we saw each other. I, and many in this city, will miss him.
I have no doubt these people are as they say, that is, “People of God”.
Where our opinions diverge however, is over which one.
The Westboro Baptist Church will be picketing Tony Snow’s funeral at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
This was taken directly from this “Christian” churches website.
Tony Snow (Press Secretary for 6 “B”
George W. Bush) is dead, YES! He had a platform, he was given some small talent by his creator.
He was an unfaithful steward, and is now residing in hell.
Each opportunity he had to faithfully Report what the servants at WBC had to tell this country/world, Tony Snow besmerched and vilified the words of God and the people of God.
Now, who was it that was lecturing me that Churches aren’t teaching Hate again?
😐
Tony Snow definately was a breath of fresh air from Scott Mclellan. When Scotty was Press Secretary he put out the persona that the White House didn’t like the American people, and just didn’t care. Scotty had a really bully persona when he talked down to the press, and the people. When Tony came on it felt like the White House at least respected us enough again to put someone out there with a little wit, and some experience under their collar.
Now we get Dana Purina.
Its hard being talked down to by a “Security Mom” looking White House Press Secretary who doesn’t know what the Cuban Missle Crisis was.
😐
my sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He honestly seemed a kind and decent man.
😐
Which was pretty uncomfortable for them, given they were living in Virginia.

… and fought in the Revolutionary War
😐
Yea, but you left out that they were carrying the Union Jack at the time.

my ancestors came here on the Mayflower
😀
Yea, but what you left out is they were hiding in storage containers.
My great great grandfather however, Thaddeus P. Muckenfuss, was a well known horse thief and defiler of young maidens, who when captured by the English, bartered his freedom and a large parcel of land outside of Bollocksville England, by promising to introduce General Cornwallace to a then budding young officer by the name of Benedict Arnold.
😀
You should see our family Crest.
I also by the way know, that your friend, Messpo, likewise says he won’t speak to someone, but really means he won’t stop speaking to them.

Birds of a feather …

One of the things you, as a newbie, wouldn’t know about me, as a ‘player’ on the blog, is that my ancestors came here on the Mayflower and fought in the Revolutionary War.
😐
On the contrary, I’ve learned quite a bit about you over the past several days, Patty.
For example, I’ve learned that when you declare you are “done” with someone, and will “no longer read” their posts, that what you realy mean is you intend on doing nothing but reading their posts, and talking to them.
I know this, because 2 days ago, you said this;

I am not going to read your, nor any newbies’ series of posts

And I would like you to leave! I’ve had enough of your non-sense

Enough with you, already!
I also know that you like to try and dress down visitors to this blog, by using condescending terms, like “newbie” while heralding some unverifiable supposed accomplishments, as if to try and shore up your crumbling position.
I know this, because you said this that same night;

I and my team work with medical professionals, saving lives, all day -can you say the same?
…and now, here today;

One was the first Governor of ‘Massachusetts’ ie one of the original 13 colonies
😐
I also know that you do this, in a vain attempt to dress down new bloggers, like suggesting that because your great great grandaddy was a stowaway on the Mayflower that somehow makes your commitment to our country, greater than someone elses.
Or because you theoretically work in the medical profession, that somehow makes you superior.
So what I have learned about you is pretty evident.
A. You like to attack new bloggers and use condescending terms like “newbie”, presenting yourself as the de-facto blog monitor, but when they retort, you get angry, and cry about it.
B. You are unable to formulate coherent arguments when you do attack someone out of the blue, and attempt to shore them up by painting yourself as Dolly Madison and Eva Nightingale rolled into one, due to proclaimed professions and ancestry that no one here could possibly verify, “even” if it mattered, which it clearly does not.
C. When you say you’re going to stop talking to someone, you apparently really mean that you won’t stop talking to them.
So thats what I have learned about you.
Which is pretty much all I need to know.
However if you’d like, you could answer one question that’s been puzzling me since your most recent unsolicited proclamation to me.
You said your ancestors fought in the revolutionary war.
😐
But you never said on which side.
Josey Wales: Anyone gets hit, sing out. Slap iron to it. It’s the fastest way to stop the bleeding.
Jill, I don’t need compliments from you and on those repeated
(empty) occasions, I’ve found them to be hollow and mostly self-serving.
I always have a big problem with gratuitous ‘Thank You’s’ and meaningless compliments… as if you speak on behalf of JT and this blog.
You don’t.

As an open question to our little group, does anyone see the irony in taking advice on manners and etiquette from someone who has called me and my friends here the following: assclowns, jackass, crybaby, craven crow, circle-jerk pals, a child, skippy, slappy, and idiot. Have I missed any?
****
Yes, it’s been going on for longer than anyone, here, might care to recognize – even within our own circle
It’s one of the many reasons why most of my ‘friends’ AND, particularly, as a woman in my field, are men.
They are some of my BEST friends!
Patty,
I have complimented you many, many times. Look back at my posts. I am not your enemy so don’t treat me as one!
Jill
Jill, you can be a real kiss-ass with the guys here. Why is that?
You usually seem like a pretty smart, level-headed ‘girl’… otherwise.
I use the PC incorrect ‘girl’ designation, purposely, because you haven’t earned ‘woman’, in my view.
Cut the shit, already!

rcampbell,
You have always struck me as a person with a great deal of intergrity and you have shown that here today.
Jill
Bartlebee, at the risk of sounding crass, because I see it all the time, let me assure you, when you’re ‘dead’, all they do, is kick dirt in your face…
How people remember you is the only thing that remains.
Tony always seemed like a nice guy and so did Tim Russert and while I don’t doubt JT was friendly with both men, at least in passing, I had major differences with both of them, publicly – politically.

I have more then a fleeting interest in my country’s fate, the ‘Rule of Law’, and the Constitution.

Did I have very strong negative feelings about Snow personally, his political opinions and his arrogance? Absolutely!!
However the day of his passing is just not the time to highlight such misgivings.
The mans dead. Not in an esoteric, cybersense. But dead. His family, his friends, (of whom Mr Turley was one) and even his opponents, naturally grieve at his passing, and are in “the moment” as it were of that loss
Bringing up your misgivings of him on the day of his passing, in a public venue set up to bid our farewells, is therefore contemptable, and should be beneath any here calling themselves an adult.
This is why, they call us moonbats.

You seem to be to quibble about feelings toward Snow. Alright, I’ll oblige you. Please note my first post. I said it’s a tragedy anytime someone so young dies and I believe that sincerely.
