Tammy Christopher is suing Grady County Oklahoma after Deputy Sean Kinght shot her dog. While the police officer told her that the dog charged at him when he stopped for direction while serving tax warrants, the video appears to contradict that claim and show Knight.

Christopher has filed a $25,000 claim against Grady County, State of Oklahoma and Grady County Deputy Sean Knight for the wrongful shooting of her dog. The video is subject to interpretation but it does show Knight immediately going to the extreme measure of shooting the dog.

As you can see, the dogs tail is not elevated which means the dog is in a calm and playful state. As we all know, these types of cops are those weird kids we beat the shit out of in High School. They lie, they abuse the law and they screw up the reputation of good cops. I think it is time to clean house with these jerks, they are the same in all cities. They lie to cover their unlawfulness. Maybe if the video was full speed u people would see that there was no time to get in the car. Also would u turn ur back on a dog coming to bite u. Sorry i train dogs and the number one rule with an aggresive dog is keep it contained not outside with a public road running right next to ur house…maybe she should tell about sueing her own farther…

This is so sad….The sheriff was only on the property to ask for directions….what a JERK – he had PLENTY of time to run into his car or get on top of it…LOSER should be sued….These STUPID Sheriffs shouln’t even have a gun.

As a small child, I was attacked by a large dog. Bruiser does not look like an angry dog attacking a stranger. He is crouched low to the ground as he runs, showing submission. Obviously the officer had a right to protect himself if he felt threatened, but he had plenty of time to jump back in the car or taze the animal.

what if this was a girl scout selling cookies and it bit her. Is it not the repsonsiblity of the owner to keep a dog that attacks confined. also there was no fense, no sign, and no address marking the residence. this dog also did other things to neighbors that the owner doesn’t seem to mention like killing their dogs and biting their cars.
Assuming this is true, the deputy needs to be fired and prosecuted. A civil suit, while appropriate, doesn’t take it far enough.
Mojo, I submit it would be easier just to stop taking cops at their word. They can lie just like we civilians can. Just because someone’s a cop with a badge & gun doesn’t mean they aren’t lying sacks of shit.
That’s horrible. It’s hard to say with any certainty, but the dog looked fairly playful. I’ve had many a dog run up to me, tail wagging, and put their paws on my legs ready for some playful interaction.
It’s seems more and more that we, as citizens, should have it written into law that we are allowed to video tape police activity at all times since there are so many incidents with police telling stories that differ from the actual events. Whenever I see video of police shouting at somebody to turn their camera off it makes me wonder what they are up to that makes them fearful of having it recorded. They are the police, they are there to serve the public who pay their salaries, and they shouldn’t be concerned with being witnessed or videotaped enforcing the law (unless, of course, they know that what they are doing is in violation of the law).
You’d think a cop would know the central lesson John Wayne’s “Big Jake”. Don’t mess with someone’s kids or dogs unless you expect trouble.
I looked at the video and the dog does not seem to be lunging at the officer, but merely running parallel to the officer and the vehicle. The information given about the person riding along with the officer was interesting and the owner could be correct that the officer was showing off for the brother in law. This officer should lose his badge and get jail time for this brutal action. He did have plenty of opportunity and time to get back into his car if he thought the threat was real. The other question I would have is whether the local ordinances require any dog to be on a leash at all times, even if on the owners property. Sad story.
