What is happening to journalists after the election? The world has been watching a British reporter give a drunken resignation on YouTube. Now, leading Austrian television personality Klaus Emmerich has given a deeply racist rant on European television stating “I wouldn’t want the Western world to be directed by a black man.”
Emmerich is being denounced after his shocking statements on television. He has been one of the most respected journalists over his decades in the business, including work in Washington D.C. for ORF. I have been interviewed by him in the past. On Wednesday he said: “I wouldn’t want the Western world to be directed by a black man. When you say that is a racist remark: right, without a doubt.”
He added Americans are “racists, now as before, and it must be going very badly for them that they so convincingly … send a black man, and a black, very good-looking woman, into the White House.” Someone clearly needs to tweak the meds. I much prefer the drunk profane English reporter to the sober racist Austrian reporter.

Does he now all of a sudden believe that his voice is the voice of Authority over the majority of America with all its inhabitants? as opposed to that small egg shell called Austria which is notorious for its Nazi sympathisers and racist narcissistic people who have a curious habit of secrecy and sex in underground dungeons?

Where exactly does his argument end up if you take it to its moral conclusion?.. in a quagmire of racial subjugation and denial that any lack of black progress has anything to do with the pinching of 100million people from the continent of Africa, a historical denial that blacks were even allowed to enter a science lab let alone run away from a plantation, and an ignorance of black achievement because the books and libraries purged of black history to validate that crime were not replaced by subsequent generations.. so much so that Many Europeans today believe Egypt was a Caucasian empire in Europe. What a mess.. & now Barack cultured educated and Black with grace manners and poise is denounced by this twit? So insulting. I hope he his daughter falls in love with a black man.
And someone clearly doesn’t understand the definition of fascism yet again. Get this straight. The only fascists in American politics are the Neocon GOP and PNAC. Militaristic (ya think?), expansionist (invading a country that didn’t attack us ring a bell, Pavlov?), authoritarian (Illegal signing statements anyone? How about ignoring judicial and Congressional power?), anti-liberal (NOT conservative – there is a difference), nationalist (Country First!), propagandists (“Iraq has WMD’s!”, Iraq = 9/11, or pick a McBush campaign commercial of your choice) and totalitarians (Rove’s dream of a permanent Republican majority? How about stomping on habeas corpus so they could get away with torture?).

Obama was asked at his press conference today if he’d spoken to all the presidents.
“I have spoken to all of them who are living,” he responded. “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances.”
He was apparently confusing stories about Reagan’s consulting with an astrologer with those about other First Ladies — from Mary Todd Lincoln to Hillary Clinton — who tried to make contact with figures from the past.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has provoked criticism for describing Barack Obama as “young, handsome, and tanned”.
Expect more of this behavior from people who are scared. Life is dynamic; people are changing the world over. We can model tolerance. I feel like Americans are demonstrating to the world that our culture is living up to the full extent of the Bill of Rights.
We have elected a Statesman (politician) to the executive branch who can lead from a calm center. The pendulum is swinging away from Bushy, driving people with messages of terror.
James Dobson’s influential choice of Sarah Palin was shot down. Gays will have the right to marriage, be patient. It’s guaranteed by the constitution. Fundamentalism is ever so slowly being rejected.

That being said, I think being 20 minutes late for your first Press Conference and then giving what amounted to a campaign speech was an extremely ridiculous start for Obama.
I think his approval rating, after just three days, has gone from 60% to 50%.
Three screw-ups in just three days:
Naming a man who lied about losing a finger defending Israel in the Israeli Defense Force when he lost it to a fast food machine, a man who sent a rotten fish in the mail to a detractor, and a man who was a Director of Freddie Mac for two years 2000 to 2001 and to date who voted to obstruct further regulation of them……yes I am talking about RAHM EMMANUAL, as your Chief of Staff is totally STUPID!
Not speaking up when Russia tested him on Wednesday by announcing they would be moving missiles to the Poland border.
Not renouncing immediately a letter from Achmadinajad asking Obama to eliminate the sanctions on his country.

This morning I heard a joke and we Obama supporters must become accustomed to such, what I consider, harmless satirical comments because they are going to occur. Now, I was “borned” in ‘da South and the early part of my life I “growed-up” thar (Palin would appreciate my non-standard ‘nglish). As a youngster I heard many black and white jokes and people can get along and survive with such “teasing.” I never thought I would get the chance to vote for a black man in my lifetime and I am glad that I voted for Obama although I am a conservative Republican.
The joke:
“I heard today that ‘dem Democrats wuz ‘gonna dig up and replace the Rose Garden with a watermelon patch!”
Some people were upset with the New Yorker Magazine’s satirical cover art, although I saw it for what it really represented. I consider humorous jokes in the same vein and I trust that others will agree. Regarding the derision Mr. bush so justly deserved and received, to otherwise deride comments about Obama as unacceptable, simply because of his skin color, is hypocritical.
Did you get the country wrong in your headline? Shouldn’t the country be “Austria?” Not “Australia?”
