Mechanical Failure: Russian Man Dies After Drinking Viagra Drink During 12-Hour Orgy

viagra_280_741988aPfizer will presumably not be sued for a death in Russia after a twenty-eight year old mechanic Sergey Tuganov guzzled a bottle of Viagra pills to participate in a 12-hour orgy with two women on a bit.

The two women bet Tuganov £3,000 that he wouldn’t be able to satisfy them both non-stop for the half-day sex marathon. Tuganov won the bet and minutes later dropped dead with a heart attack.

There is growing concern over heart attacks in younger men without heart conditions using Viagra. However, this would fit into assumption of the risk. Viagra shakes and 12-hour orgies are not exactly recommended by the company in any literature.

  1. My only comment on recommended dosage is why do the disclaimers in all the ads say see your Doctor if your erection lasts more than 4 hours? Given the number of men worried about premature ejaculation it always seemed to me that there was a none to subtle message there. If one pill can’t produce the effect than possibly two…three…four?

  2. Some drugs like Vicodin and other analgesics are compounded with acetaminophen, aspirin etc. The additives are meant to discourage use of the medication for ‘drug seeking effect’ by causing stomach problems like nausea. The buffering agent can cause death by liver failure if enough pills are taken at one time or, if high but non-lethal dosage is taken over a long time, liver damage and eventual failure will result. I think it’s irresponsible and punitive to build in a fast or slow death sentence due to liver failure for a drug addiction but the technology is available to limit drug dosage.

Why not add some fast acting buffering agent that makes the drug user vomit if they take more than 4 Viagra in x number of hours? It’s obviously a recreational drug so why not help people not be stupid if they’re tempted to use it to excess?

This kind of plays into another story on this blog: nicotine strips and pills. I’ve always thought they were a great idea except for the fact that nicotine is poisonous. Eat enough of them at one time or close enough together and you could probably kill yourself. I use a nicotine based insecticide in my garden.

I also smoke and know it’s the additives and tar, not the nicotine, that gives a smoker cancer. The pills interest me though because if you don’t eat more of them than you would smoke in cigarettes and use the same time line many of us would be better off.

  3. Hans,

Alas, clarity is often all to lacking in this world. I particularily love when a drug commercial, for example an asthma drug, carries the warning “[Product X] has been linked to a significant risk of asthma related death.” Usually followed by, “Ask your doctor!”

Not all lawyers are create equal. The ones who word product warnings? Well, let’s say they weren’t the most attentive lot in class.

  4. Thailand banned Viagra after a spate of Ajapanese businessmen going there, downing a lot of Viagra and kacking. Probably variations on the sam ethings. If you know eher to go, it’s still possible to find Viagra in Bangkok.

  5. @Buddha Is Laughing: What else are you supposed to think about “suggested dosages” than that they are a suggestion? A “do-not-exceed-on-pain-of-death” dosage would be less confusing, methinks.

  6. No fault on Pfizer. It’s natural selection in action. Some people are just stupid enough to think suggested dosages are just a suggestion and I’m willing to wager that wasn’t the first bottle of pills ol’ Sergey had taken on a bet. That, combined with CCD’s most valid observation, Sergey might have better been served by staying home with a bottle of vodka and Tuganov.

Thank you and good night! Tip your servers! I’ll be playing here all week.

  7. Humans honestly have not been taught by any group to responsibly manage sexual creativity/energy.

  8. is Viagra actually at fault? horses have been known to run until their hearts just give out from over use. could this be one of those cases?
or maybe he had some sort of genetic heart problem that wasnt diagnosed.
