Cutie Pictures: “Father Oprah” Taken Off Radio Disclosure of Pictures With Woman

untitledRev. Albert Cutie, known in Miami as “Father Oprah” for his popular radio program, has been taken off the air after allegedly laying hands on a woman at a bar and the beach. Pictures were found of Cutie embracing a women in what is a bit strange for a Catholic priest.

The Archdioscesan spokeswoman Mary Ross Agosta has announced that Cutie is on a prayerful journey. Cutie has apologized to his listeners on the archdiocese’s Radio Paz and Radio Peace broadcasts. He was also pastor of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Miami Beach.

The photos were published in the Spanish-language magazine TVnotas.

Earlier Tuesday, Archbishop John C. Favalora apologized to parishioners and listeners.

“Father Cutie’s actions cannot be condoned despite the good works he has done as a priest,” Favalora said in a statement. “Scandals such as this offer an occasion for the Church on all levels to examine our consciences regarding the integrity of our commitments to the Lord and to his Church.”

At least, if Father Cutie was cruising for women, he did not allegedly use church funds to enhance his appearance as with this minister.

  1. Gnostic:

    It is a completely man-made rule…

    So is every other interpretation of life on this planet. :}

  2. Well, he’s a man, apparently a straight man who has a relationship with an adult woman. I really don’t think it’s humanly possible to not have sexual desires. I don’t think it’s God’s intent either. Why are priest and nuns viewed in this aspect, it’s like believing Santa Claus or Superman exists.

  3. The RC Church does in fact have some married priests who are completely legal in the eyes of the church.

For the last 30 years, maarried Anglican or Episcopal priests who convert to RC may remain married after they are ordained as RC priests. Many of the celebate RC priests really resent this.

For hundreds of years, some eastern-rite churches that left the ranks of the Orthodox churches and recognized the Pope have retained their married priests. They are called uniate churches. They have eastern rites, but are loyal to Rome.

Priestly celebacy is a completely self-inflicted wound by the RC Church. It is not required by the religion. It is a completely man-made rule, probably designed to counter problems of inheritance of church property in the middle ages.

As the Protestants gleefully pointed out in the Reformation, even Saint Peter had a wife. How did they know? Well, Paul said that Cephas had a wife, and Jesus cured his mother-in-law!

  4. Walt,

I’ll probably get struck down for this, but I don’t think that they cared if they were small or big. They just “cared” that they were there.

The Eastern Orthodox Catholic church allows it priests to be married and there are still a number of other Catholics affiliates that pay allegiance to the Head of that church.

The Roman Catholic Priest are the only celibate ones that I know of or are supposed to be.

  5. Irony:

Right. Let’s gang up on both. BTW I see this a progress.

  6. Everyone can joke about this as much as they want to but don’t you find it the least bit ironic. How fast he lost his radio show and is basicly in limbo on what the church wants to do with him. But a priest molests a little boy and he’s got a new assignment, a new church, somewhere else to hide him away. Lets all gang up on THIS GUY! Yeah!

  7. AY:

“I guess since he has gotten reassigned he will have to start spanking the bishop at the new rectory.”

    ***************

Naw, he’s reassigned to Our Lady of Hypocrisy.

  8. Mespo727272,

I guess since he has gotten reassigned he will have to start spanking the bishop at the new rectory. He could get luck and they could have a nunnery close by as well.

  9. You guys and the bishop have it wrong. I see a priest comforting a reluctant neophyte prior to baptism in the waters of eternal life. Darn skeptics, all of you!!! 🙂

  10. I could never understand, when if you have a problem with a relationship, they emediately say, “talk to your clergyman” These guys know NOTHING about being in a relationship. And here’s one who’s actualy with the right age, and sex, and you hear about this right away. No shutteling him around from parish to parish, creating damage (which I doubt this cuases) along the way. If anything, most of these woman are envious, not pious.

  11. If ever a movie is made about this priest, John Travolta can play the part! So much resemblence.

  12. Lenny Bruce, the censor testing comedian, was arrested in Miami back in the 1950s for impersonating a priest. He said he never did better with the ladies than when he had that collar on.

  13. Strange for a Catholic priest? Nah, not so much.

Amusing anecdote: a cousin of mine who had once been a nun was over for dinner. When another woman’s name came up she said ‘oh yes, I know her!’ We asked, ‘well, how do you know her?’ She replied ‘Oh, from the convent! We were fucking the same priest!’

  14. The Catholic church should be thrilled – no underage boys, no wetsuits, no dildos – just a woman over the age of consent. They should make this guy a cardinal.

  15. Well I just guess that this Father “O” was just searching for the “O”.

I say send him to Makutu they will know what to do.

  16. That is an old joke.

The head of the order of monks opens the sealed letter from the founder, reads it, and bursts into tears and lamentations.

The monks ask him why he is so upset.

He says that they have all been wrong for centuries.

The founder wrote “celebrate,” not “celibate.”

  17. Ah, spellchecker! I’m sure you meant to type “celibate” not celebrate, though I suppose there is cause to celebrate another hypocrite being caught and exposed.
