Alaskans Unite! You have nothing to lose but your chainsaws. Now, for our latest manifesto from Comrade Palin. See video clip below with Sean Hannity.
While this does not compete with the Palin Turkey Grind video, this one is a gem. In an interview with Fox, Palin explains how Alaska is a citizen paradise where resources are collectively owned by the people. She then launched into a warning that Obama was pushing us toward socialism.
Palin is right out of Marx’s fantasy of a worker’s paradise and his prediction that “Democracy is the road to socialism.” Indeed, Karl Marx predicted that true Marxism would come only with the political involvement of women:
Anyone who knows anything of history knows that great social changes are impossible without feminine upheaval. Social progress can be measured exactly by the social position of the fair sex, the ugly ones included.
In her battle against the bourgeoisie, Palin may want to carry around the ten objectives from the Communist Manifesto.
1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
5. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.
6. Centralization of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the state.
7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the state; the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
8. Equal obligation of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.
“Double think” is accurate, but “cognitive dissonance” was the first term to cross my mind when I read this article. If Sarah Palin is one of the four or five best hopes of the Republican Party, I suggest they open their future conventions with “Nearer, My God, to Thee” instead of the National Anthem.
On the suject on insult:

Les, you said Palin has a brain??? Ha ha ha ha ha!!! Wow, that is a good one. She is the most brain-dead bit o’fluff that I’ve seen in a long time. I hope she keeps giving interviews and looking stupid in front of vast audiences. She’s at least highly entertaining.
she needs to go back to plagiarism. or grinding turkeys.
that anyone takes he seriously makes my head hurt.
at least tina fey is rested and ready for 2012.
IS,
“As far as Denmark and Finland are concerned, they are small relatively homogeneous states which probably has something to do with their brand of state welfare working.”
Straw man. Size and composition have nothing to do with delivery and quality of services for tax dollars collected. In addition, if warfare is the only job of government, why not just do away with them all together and let corporations run things? Hm? Let fascism run its course. Peace, safety and well being of the populace is the only legitimate function of government in the long run as in any form they only exist at the consent of the governed. What we in this country get for our tax dollars is the finger.
JT:
You forgot the best “heil” raiser in your triumphrate of photos. Here it is and from the “chiefiest” national socialist of them all:

Gottcha!! 😉
“Jill,
Although I agree with everyone’s assessment of these egregious statements I do think this country has always practiced socialism for the rich and captialism for the poor.”
Amen to that.
The other thing is that it is beyond incredible the ability of most Republican politicians to engage in self parody, without even being aware of it.
Palin doesn’t get it! She is the socialist, the dictator, the theocrat…lol
Did anyone catch the line in the interview where she said accepting stimulus money for construction projects is unacceptable because then the state of Alaska would have to adhere to “certain building codes”? Building codes are a “good idea” don’t you think? This is a safety issue! Her ego is the biggest entity in Alaska.
From the Democrats perspective, Palin, Cheney, Rush, Steele, Boehner, Mitch, Cantor and so many more political celebrities, are the gifts that keep on giving. Keep up the good work people!
While some executives did share in the government largess it was the tax payers in the form of share holders that were also helped.
As far as Denmark and Finland are concerned, they are small relatively homogeneous states which probably has something to do with their brand of state welfare working. But there is some small glimmer that suggests they are not as happy with their system as some might suggest. The recent EU elections being the main indicator and specifically Girt Wilders gleaning 17% of the vote in his country.
This may just be a reality check for Europe as they slowly begin to see the writing on the wall, namely the end of a vibrant and robust American economy and with it an end to foreign aid both economic and military.
If things keep going as they are with the economy, I think it fairly safe to say it will end up landing at the feet of the democrats as they control all branches of government currently and controlled 2 for the past 3 years. But there is no solace in that fact because the republican party is really not any better and will do some minor tax cutting and may get rid of a regulation or 2 but nothing on the order of magnitude required to send the economy in a positive direction.
She pretty much tarred herself during the debate with O’Biden and I can remember my disappointment that someone that was touted as the next great republican hope was nothing more than a retread progressive.
There might be some justification for returning some money to Alaskans because the Federal government owns a substantial portion of Alaska. Around 60% or 222 million acres. But I suppose with that logic we all ought to be getting a tax break from drilling in Alaska and any natural resource production that takes place on federal land whether in Alaska or the contiguous 48 states.
Palin is a disappointment because of her progressive/statist views.
Although I agree with everyone’s assessment of these egregious statements I do think this country has always practiced socialism for the rich and captialism for the poor. I don’t know who coined that phrase originally, but they had America right. One look at the companies who got bailed out verses the treatment of the hungry, homeless, jobless and desperate of today confirms that view.
The word “socialism” has become a Republican code word to incite fear, much like their use of the word “detainee.” Most of the time they have no idea what they’re talking about. Gov. Palin’s comments are simply the most recent example. They are spectacularly ignorant in her case only because Alaska is a prime example of the beneficial effects of various forms of revenue sharing. By the time 2012 rolls around, her stardom will have faded, although the party will likely still find her useful as a fund raiser in rural America. In the meantime, she provides a source of amusement because she is unconsciously clueless. It is also for that reason that it is best to ignore her. Since she is such an easy target, attacks against her create sympathy among those who regard intellectual rigor a vice of the arrogant.
rc,
Don’t forget recent studies by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development says people in Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands are the happiest people on Earth. Ranking first to third respectively, these countries are socialist democracies where the citizens pay very high tax rates, but they also get a LOT for those taxes – like universal health care, old age and disability pensions, rehabilitation and nursing homes, family welfare subsidies, general public welfare and payments for military accidents and maternity benefits for up to 52 weeks. No one can go bankrupt in these countries for medical bills yet medical expenses are the number one reason for bankruptcy in the U.S. They get what they pay for in Denmark, Finland and the Netherlands. Socialism works because it is the middle road between two systems that in their pure form won’t and don’t work as proven by history – communism and capitalism. Socialism isn’t a dirty word unless you’re a Wall St. first pirate free market capitalist like the asshats who crashed our economy and are buying off getting regulated right now or punished for their crimes.
I keep hearing about her rising star in the GOP,and if I were a republican I would be totally insulted, with the assault on my intelligence.
All these Republican clowns have short and/or selective memories. They choose to forget how and when the economy went into the tank. For that matter, they’ve forgotten which administration began the “socialist” bailouts of banks, auto makers and insurance companies.
They also choose to forget that America WANTS our roads and bridges tended to and jobs saved and/or created. Americans WANT current regulations of the financial markets enforced and additional regulations for their protection in the future. America WANTS dramatic change from a health insurance industry that has exploited us for decades. Americans WANT a different, more diplomatic approach to international affairs. America WANTS done exactly what President Obama is doing.
We know all this because we voted on these issues just last November and whether folks for FOR Obama or AGAINST their “ideas”, their side was rejected.
Finally, they’re oblivious to the fact that the word “socialism” isn’t all that scary anymore. It means almost nothing to young people who have no experience or exposure to that passe’ cold war term which the GOP used to use to breathe fear and fire into Americans hearts. It also means little or nothing to folks struggling with their mortgage, health care, kids’ college, a broken economy and a government they feel has abandonned them in favor of the rich and powerful. All of which are finally being addressed by what they claim is socialism. As the beginnings of success are starting to show from these socialist ideas, the sting goes out of their claims.
The good Governor ardently denounces socialism, completely and blissfully unaware that she is at the same time praising the socialistic public ownership of the state’s natural resources. Since 1948, there has been a word in the English language for that:
Doublethink is the holding of two contradictory beliefs simultaneously, fervently believing both, and being unaware of their incompatibility. George Orwell.
The novel Nineteen Eighty Four defined “Doublethink” as “The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them….To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just so long as it is needed, to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies — all this is indispensably necessary. Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.
Orwell, George (1949). Nineteen Eighty-Four.
At least Palin has a brain which would be an improvement over our current VP.
Well maybe she can be laid to State at the Capitol of Alaska just like her brethren 58 miles to the west. She sounds so wonderful, trailer trash (they do have trailers in Alaska, don’t they?)
What more could America have wanted for a Veep. The question is which is scarier: Palin, Cheney or Quail[e]? I guess Cheney, he at least has some brains, not many mind ya.
