Republicans may want to just keep away from open mikes for a while. After a ranking Republican in California was caught describing in disgusting detail sex with a lobbyist, Republican Rep. Jean Schmidt (R-Ohio) was caught whispering to a constituent that she agrees that President Obama is not a legitimate president due to his birth.
On the tape, a clearly unhinged supporter is insisting the Obama can’t be a president because of his birth. Schmidt is heard saying “M’aam, m’aam. I agree with you, but the courts don’t.”
It still beats relations with a lobbyist, but Schmidt is in the unenviable position of stating either than she believe Obama is a foreign-born, constitutional pretender or say that she will say anything to constituents.

In the news, Lucas Smith has finally testified under oath, and is now subject to the perjury laws, for his assertions about the latest Kenyan birth certificate. The Lucas certificate has many problems on its face, and even the worldnutdaily people seem to have given up on it.

Rafflaw, you are right on the issue of the birth certificate. Over at the Retired General thread, I posted the legal definition from section 7211, and the COLB meets the legal definition. No federal agency can accept a form that does not meet these legal requirements.
The effort to say that it is a certification, not a certificate, is laughable. At the bottom, the COLB warns against any alteration of “this certificate.”
The COLB is a legal birth certificate, and is prima facie evidence of birth in Honolulu, Hawaii.

So I am dense because you can’t understand that states will give you certified copies of the birth certificate? You might want to check into what Hawaii really provided before you make claims that aren’t accurate. I also asked you to read Obama’s book and you will see childhood pictures. Actually, all you would have to read are the captions of the pictures. I know reading and actually researching your argument might by a little foreign to you, but it would be good practice if you plan on sticking around here under your current label. By the way, that document is what the state provides as evidence of a live birth. Once again, I offered to contact the White House to demand the original as soon as George W. Bush provides his original military records. I will wait patiently for those records.

What Obama has presented IS NOT a copy of his birth certificate. It’s a computerized form created from a database of information. It’s a “certification” of birth, not a copy of a birth certificate.

Even here in Illinois when you want to have evidence of your birth, the only document that you get is a certified copy of your birth certificate. Part of my personal philosophy is that Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
Now you’re making an extraordinary claim, so it’s up to YOU to provide extraordinary proof. A You-tube video of a photocopy is not extraordinary proof. Sorry, I have high standards when it comes to claims that involve a deception as great as what you’re suggesting.
Here are some of the things that I’d probably consider proof:
A birth Certificate verified by a foreign government.
A retraction by the State of Hawaii of their statement that they have President Obama’s Birth certificate on file.
President Obama saying “Yeah, I’m from Kenya. SUCKERS!”
Etc.
Get back to me when you have any of those, and then you can talk about my faith.
