Please Check Your Carry-On: Slovakian Police Plant Explosives and Contraband on Unwitting Airline Passengers . . . Leading to the Arrest of Innocent Irishman

There is a bizarre case out of Ireland where a 49-year-old man was arrested after being found with contraband and an explosive at the airport. It turns out that the Slovakian police planted the explosives and contraband on passengers at the Bratislava Airport, but did not bother to tell the Irish authorities.

It took three days for the Slovakian police to notify the Irish, including the planting of a 90g research development explosive. The Slovakian government offered their “profound regret” to the Irish government. It is not known what apologies were made to the man who was not only arrested but had his apartment surrounded by bomb squads.

The man has a wonderful tort action and an even more wonderful story to tell of how he was an unwitting smuggler and bomber for the Slovakian police.

This could be a new tourism campaign: “Come to Bratislava and enjoy Slovakian hospitality where we put contraband into your luggage for the flight home!”

  1. AY,

You are some kinda ladies man, my friend. What kind I’m not sure, but you are some kind of ladies man. 😀

  2. they were just doing the Irish a favor by allowing them to practice interdiction.

The BVD Bomber did the same thing, even Janet Napolitano stated the system worked. Maybe he did not know he was wearing them. He probably had a girl friend in Detroit he was going to see and did not want to stop to take a leak.

I find this video rather funny:

  3. I’m a cockroache’s delight? ~ sniff ~ I am all verklempt. You sure know how to make a girl feel special…

  4. I thought you were a delicious baked confection?

Damn. See what confusion you have wrought, AY?

  5. I’m still trying to figure out whether I’m a fish, an insect or a funky cigarette.

  6. Now that’s airport security!

You do realize if the TSA had been the one to screw this up, the guy would still be in jail as they’d never admit it, right?

  7. Wow and to think if he had been arrested by the US. Would he have ever been heard from again? 3 days 3 years one in the same for the CIA.
