  1. BIL–

I firmly believe it helps one to get through/cope with life if one has a highly developed sense of humor–and sense of the absurd. In fact, I would say a sense of humor is essential if you’re a parent–and/or a teacher. Yes, through adroit child rearing skills and techniques and through the passing on of my genes, I succeeded in producing a daughter who appeciates high and low humor, sarcasm, satire, etc. What more could a mother like me ask for?

  2. Elaine,

Your good taste and adroit child rearing skills never ceases to amaze. Thanks for the treat.

  3. BIL,

Many years ago my husband and I went with friends to see Peter Cook and Dudley Moore in Boston. They did the “Peche a la Frog and Frog a la Peche” routine. They also did a very funny sketch about a psychiatrist and his patient.

My daughter shares her parents love of Monty Python. We three are also big fans of Fawlty Towers.

  5. Elaine,

I’m one of those sometimes terrible geeks who knows Python dialog by heart. Almost all of it. While comedically I was raised by Groucho, I spent a lot of time with my British uncles and their very naughty uncles Derek & Clive (Dudley Moore and Peter Cook). Bless their twisted silly souls. 😀 If you’ve never heard Derek & Clive’s “Peche ala Frog” routine, it’s worth tracking down the old LP’s for alone. I believe they did it once on SNL. One of the funniest bits ever.

  6. Thanks, Buddha, for the laugh! I love Month Python.
