San Diego Man Charged With Choking Puppy

David Hale Warner, 50, is facing charges that he choked his Labrador retriever puppy named Coco after the dog bit his girlfriend. Coco later died.

Coco was just 10 weeks old when the dog bite his girlfriend on the nose — showing how intuitive dogs can be.

Warner brought the dog into a clinic and said that the dog could not walk and was having trouble breathing. That effort could save Warner from jail time. He claims that he pinned the dog for 20 seconds after the bite.

He faces three years in prison and a $20,000 fine if he’s convicted.

If convicted, the court may want to put him in the same cell with John Fleet.

  1. “Warner brought the dog into a clinic and said that the dog could not walk and was having trouble breathing. That effort could save Warner from jail time.”

So if I choke this nitwit and bring him to the hospital unable to walk and breathe, will it save me from jail time?

  2. This guy should spend a long time in jail for such a cruel act. 3 years is not enough and $20,000 is not enough of a fine for this wanton disregard of life.

  3. I’ve choked my chicken several million times and it seems no worse for the wear. Never choked my dog though.

  4. 10 week old puppies nip, that is their nature, it’s how they play. People should not take on the responsibility of pet ownership if they have no idea how to effectively correct inappropriate behaviours. I certainly hope this jerk gets punished to the fullest extent allowable!

  5. Whatever his punishment I hope he is never allowed to have animals again. And I know how bad this sounds, but if his girlfriend stays with him, she deserves whatever she gets. I don’t even want to hear “but it was an accident” b.s.

  6. I wonder what the girlfriend thinks about Warner’s method of dealing with his frustrations?
