An Outfit to Die For: Woman Shoots Cousin After She Arrived in Casual Clothes for Easter

Evelyn Burgess, 42, in Columbus, Ohio appears to enforce a strict dress code for Easter dinner. Police say that Burgess shot her cousin, Danielle Pickens, 19, (shown left) in the head when she showed up for Easter dinner in a T-shirt and jeans.

After the women fought over Pickens’ casual attire, Picken left to get into her car. Burgess followed her and shot her in the head. She told police that she did not intend to shoot her. She has been charged with murder.

  1. The comment about the number on the house is quite freaky, well noticed.

This incident does bring to mind that age old question of “what if she didnt have a gun in the first place”?.

Chances are, she may have just clubbed her with a leg of lamb, but at least her victim would have survived that one.

  2. Isn’t a cute young woman in scanty attire what springtime fertility rites are all about? My guess is that is what really bothered the middle-aged murderer.

  3. I’ll say it since Bob has been absent:

People haven’t evolved one bit from the pond scum that spawned them.

    A gun.

    Over an outfit.

Oh that stupidity were a crime you could be charged with too.

  4. Maybe she mistook that 9mm found in the kitchen for a pez dispenser…..
