Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has hired 200 people to help him tweet as part of his account “chavezcandanga,” which has more than 237,000 followers. He has much to tweet about as inflation has now reached 30 percent in the country, which Chavez blames on the “bourgeoisie.”
Chavez’s twitter account is now slightly larger than his rival Globovision, the only critical TV channel remaining in the country after Chavez’s crackdown on journalists and free speech.

The 30.4 percent inflation rate is now the highest in Latin America and, in his signature style, Chavez is now blaming the hidden hand of the United States and the wealthy and punishing no punitive measures: “We need to stop this right now. The bourgeoisie do not listen to appeals to their conscience. Let’s act with a firm hand.” Totalitarian tweets in 140 characters or less.

People and their actions are defined by their nature, not the label they choose to apply to themselves. Chavez could call what he does “effervescence”, but that doesn’t change that he’s an authoritarian militaristic dictator. If cotton had been the biggest resource they had, he’d have annexed the cotton industry. And annexed is the right word, not nationalized. Keep in mind, he only “nationalized” oil because as a dictator he is the nation. Which means the oil isn’t truly nationalized – he alone controls it to HIS benefit first and foremost. That means he didn’t actually nationalize jack squat. He stole it for his personal use. There is a difference between taking a segment of the economy and placing in public trust for the public benefit (like socialized medicine) and just stealing something for your personal use.
I don’t expect you to see beyond your wallet anymore. Any effect the red pills had wore off some time ago. You’re a fascist in action, Mr. Oil Industry Apologist and Vested Interest. You’re just too greedy to come to grips with the fact you back the bad guys who are going to turn this planet into a wasteland for profit. I guess I should say the poor don’t buy buildings and factories and ships and build oil wells, you know the types of things that create jobs. Bridges and roads don’t create sustainable jobs, they create immediate jobs. An economy cannot run on immediate jobs for any length of time and they are not sustainable unless the private sector creates them or pays for them.
