Since Professor Turley is snowbound in the Winter Wonderland, the weekend warriors are back to bring your blood pressure up!
I have been critical of the Right Wing Mass Media for its continual banging of the drum of hate towards President Obama and the Democrats in general. Now, there are times that the Democrats and President Obama should be called on the carpet. For instance, for not confronting the Bush torture crowd and for claiming that the President has the authority to kill American citizens without due process, just to name a couple. However, the civility that President Obama has asked for in his latest speeches, have gone unheeded by many on the Right and some on the Left.
We all succumb to the emotion at times and say things that we shouldn’t, but the Right seems to carry these statements to an extreme and they are unapologetic for it. Yesterday, fans of Rush Limbaugh faxed death threats to California State Representative and San Francisco Mayoral candidate, Leland Yee, because Lee had requested Rush to apologize for Rush’s ill-tempered and racially charged comments about the Chinese President during his recent visit to the United States. Rush mocked President Hu Jintao’s speech and Mr. Yee “..said Limbaugh owes the Chinese community an apology for his “pointless and ugly offense.” ‘. http://www.sfexaminer.com/local/crime/2011/01/leland-yee-receives-racist-death-threat
You can guess the result of State Rep. Lee’s request for an apology from Rush Limbaugh. He continued his rant and mocked Rep. Lee on the next program. I know some of you will want to know why the authorities believe that Rush’s fans are behind the death threats. Take a look at one of the faxes on the link below and you will understand. Rep. Lee received similar threats in April of last year that are also being investigated.
I would put the fax on here, but the language is a bit “rough”. See below for a link to the faxes in question. Those who continue to voice their ugly rhetoric in the mass media have a responsibility for the result of that rhetoric. I for one think they are getting the response that they are looking for. What do you think?

Those were some bad times I agree. But this Egypt Middle East thing is bad news. 30 years of military assets from the U.S. is about to change hands. Jordan could be next.

I wouldn’t be so sure about your comment that “we” don’t have much to worry about from progressive/liberal ideas. Liberal ideas are what this country was started on. As to WWII, Buddha is spot on. Make sure you are not reading the history books mandated by the Texas School Board, because they have altered what really happened in our country’s and the world’s history. It would make sense to read the real facts not Texas facts.

People don’t take you seriously when you say idiotic nonsense like “Mussolini was a socialist” and make up the meanings of words to suit your fault premises and your veritable wealth of misinformation. Really smart people don’t make up terminology. Nor would they make factually incorrect statements like saying the father of fascism was a socialist. Mussolini himself preferred the term “corporatist” which only shows his pimp is the same as yours – corporations and the greed that drives them.
Ask for your tuition money back. Because your factually incorrect and intellectually stunted statements don’t give people the impression you’ve had a formal education. And this? “In any event there was more than one reason for WWII”? No. Not really other than the economic hardships brought about by Germany’s post-WWI isolation as previously stated. Isolation that was indeed overly harsh, but well earned in the light of German aggression in WWI. But starting WWII? Hitler invading his neighbors was impetus enough. It had nothing to do with Wilson or any of that other Libertarian/neo-con anti-regulation of banks economic crap you spew.
The League of Nations was roughly analogous to the U.N. and the only effect they had on Germany was that when they confronted Germany about their pre-war mistreatment of Jews, Hitler, rather than comply with the terms of the Treaty of Versailles and the Covenant of the League of Nations, choose not to renew membership in the League in 1937 thus allowing him to renew his persecution of the Jews without the League’s interference. By then, Hitler had already retaken the Saar and the Rhineland which had been taken from Germany as part of reparations stipulated in the Treaty of Versailles. World War II then started in earnest the very next year when in 1938, Hitler invaded Austria and Czechoslovakia and rapidly followed suit by invading Poland in 1939 to really get the party started. The Treaty of Versailles, however, was largely being ignored by Germany as early as 1930. WWII? It was less a second world war than simply a continuation of German aggression started under Bismark. The only connection to Wilson was that as a signatory to the Treaty of Versailles, he made the U.S. party to the internationally (which means he had both help and concurrence in implementation, monkey boy) imposed economic sanctions against Germany that created the environment in which Hitler flourished. A lesson about overly harsh reparations which subsequent leaders learned from as evidenced by the drastically different tack taken with both Germany and Japan at the end of WWII. The Federal Reserve, however, didn’t have a thing to do with it.
Now come on and regurgitate some more of your factually incorrect historical revisionist crap to rationalize that you’re simply just another greedy lil’ Libertarian (and thus truly neo-conservative) pig.
Just don’t expect any mercy for your twisted right-wing ideological stupidity and lies around these parts. We’re a fact driven lot around here. Personally, I’ve brought professional paid propagandist to their knees – people with proper educations and appropriate skill sets to be effective propagandists at a professional level.
