After the disclosure that heroic Amina Arraf, a Syrian lesbian blogger, was actually a guy from Georgia, many believed it could not get weirder on the blogosphere. Then Bill Graber came forward to admit that, like Tom MacMaster, he is also a guy masquerading as a lesbian blogger. With the search for an actual lesbian on the blogosphere, I want to put to rest a growing rumor that I am actually an Iranian lesbian masquerading as a middle-aged professor. It may indeed that all of the actual lesbians are pretending that they are middle-aged men as middle-aged men pretend they are lesbians. However, I am not an Iranian lesbian. That should do it.
Graber was an actual editor of the lesbian news website Lezgetreal.com and supported Arraf — until he found that he was hoaxed in the act of his own hoax. That must have put him back a bit in therapy. Earlier, Paula Brooks said she felt like a “patsy.”
Graber wrote under the name Paula Brooks but insisted that “LezGetReal was not meant to be deceitful or con anyone.” The site calls itself a “Gay Girl’s View of the World.” Brooks told The Washington Post that “I didn’t start this with my name because… I thought people wouldn’t take it seriously, me being a straight man.” Well, I suppose that is true. I might not be quite as trusting in a straight man’s take on the life of a lesbian.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. 🙂 And there are no Facebook pictures forthcoming.
A parallel subject, heard some attorneys discussing this type of situation last night on the radio and what they are trying to do about it.:
Debt Collectors Use Social Media

Social media has become a tool for people to meet, reconnect and/or communicate with significant others, relatives, business associates and friends. Many don’t know that debt collectors are also taking advantage of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to locate debtors. In his article, Debt Collectors Faulted for Using Facebook, Mike Nixon writes, “For businesses attempting to locate people who may have skipped out on a loan or accumulated bad debt, the idea of using the World Wide Web seems both expedient and cost effective, especially when it comes to individuals who make their presence known on social media websites.” However, debt collectors that use social media to locate debtors must comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and state laws or be held accountable.

Thank you, Professor Turley, for finally setting our perspiring minds to rest. I was distraught from the possibility that you might actually be Iranian.
“I want to put to rest a growing rumor that I am actually an Iranian lesbian masquerading as a middle-aged professor.”
Professor,
You know of course that there are a few here that “think thou protesteth too much.” I have faith that you’re really a middle aged professor.
I have been asked if I’m a dog pretending to be an middle-aged white man.
And I can just answer: You know, I can’t say with certitude. Minds can be delusional, pictures can be manipulated
Did they collect donations….
Reminds me of an anarchist guy I once new who I ran into at an anti-war demo some 20 years ago. He was wearing a white dress & a sheer white blouse that you could see his chest hairs through and black combat boots. He had poorly applied makeup on his face and was still sporting his moustache.
I said: “Hey Mike. What’s with this new look?’
He said: “I’ve decided to get a sex change operation.”
“Why?” I said in amazement.
“Because I want to become a lesbian” he said.
I paused for a few seconds to get my head around the idea and replied: “But Mike, surely you’re aware that a real lesbian would be repulsed by you?”
“I’ll take that chance” he said.
Before the days of blogging, this guy’s writing would have started “Dear Penthouse Forum, I never thought this would happen to me but . . .”
Maybe this guy feels he is a lesbian trapped in a mans body?
Off-topic (thankfully). It appears the pleas of many of us have been heard regarding the seating of grand juries to investigate matters of torture:

The probe seems limited at this point. We must press the administration to expand it.
