Meet Crockett Keller — Bigot with a Gun

In Mason, Texas, handgun instructor Crockett Keller has become an instant celebrity after his ad offering lessons and documentation for concealed weapons . . . unless you voted for Obama or are a Muslim or non-Christian Arab.

In an ad that starts out sounding like it was written by Sheriff Wright after his recent press conference, Keller tells listeners that a gun will make them a victor not a victim before going into his diatribe against liberals, Muslims, and Arabs.
He proclaims:

“If you are a socialist liberal and/or voted for the current campaigner-in-chief, please do not take this class. You’ve already proven that you cannot make a knowledgeable and prudent decision as required under the law. Also, if you are a non-Christian Arab or Muslim, I will not teach you this class. Once again, with no shame, I am Crockett Keller.”

No shame and possibly no license. By proclaiming his desire to discriminate against customers, Keller may lose his license.

The Texas Department of Public Safety noted that “conduct by an instructor that denied service to individuals on the basis of race, ethnicity or religion would place that instructor’s certification by the Department at risk of suspension or revocation.”

Keller, however, insists that the bar on liberals, Muslims, and Arabs was just an afterthought after “I got to thinking, ‘Hmm, I’m arming the enemy.’”

Funny, I thought bigots were the enemy in a free nation.

  1. BTW,

Too many “self” victimized types of comments (i.e., make it a black/white/hispanic thing). Texas doesn’t have a monopoly on idiots or jerks or rednecks; there are distasteful people all over. I personally could give a rat’s behind about the guy. Please note that Keller said, ” non Christian Arabs and Muslims,” can’t get service, not all Arabs (not that this is appealing to anyone). If you’re going to complain/comment and quote, get your facts right. Don’t behave like the mainstream media and present what you wanted to hear, assumptions or distrortions.

I believe we can, if we try, think for ourselves. Correct?

  2. Whether or not you agree with Keller, it’s his business to run and serve customers of his choosing. For all of the Liberal-leaning commentators, who want to empathize with the non-potential customers, that’s fine.

For the rest that support/like Keller’s comments, or just find them an advertising ploy, that’s fine too. No one is forcing you to listen to his Ad or shop there.

Freedom, particularly the 1st Ammendment, gives him the right to do as he does, just like it does for CAIR and othe rorganizations/individuals. The 1st Ammendment doesn’t give any of us ‘freedom’ from being offended. Get over it, tune out what you don’t like (or just never tune into it). This guy isn’t dangerous, and there are far more important issues to be concerned about than a TV advertisement.

Let’s pull our heads out of the media circus and focus, debate and discuss important issues; let’s leave the political and media “bread and circus games” distractions and get our act together. Pick your side, and support/campaign and vote in 2012.

    1. I have heard this crap before when we were fighting against segregation. This idiot is making money with a STATE granted licence and sanction. If he wishes to give instruction WITHOUT that license, then I will have NO problem with him being a bigot in his selection of students. Of course he will not have a course as desireable then, and fewer students.

  3. “After the socialist liberal hippies hit this country, it has been a downward spiral.”

When was that, and where did they come from?
